Distinguishing Features: Over the bridge of his nose is the marking of a mute swan's "mask". On the side of his head are two head-wings of white feathers. Small swan wings on his back that are definitely not big enough to support him. Also, his Irish brogue is pretty impressive too.

Edan has a tendency to wear very colorful, high quality clothing. Most of it he has fashioned himself. Often times, he looks like a fashion disaster (clashing colors are often worn) but he can, and does, clean up very well.

Most important child hood event that still effects him/her: Escaping an Azvanara raid on his home village.
Why?: His clan under attack from a pack of Primal Azvanara and his foster parents refused to let him go down with them to fight. They died sending him off with his older sister and brother who were also training to be entertainers.
Education: A lot. He was studying texts and music from the time he was four years old.

Background In Depth:
Like most Papin, Edan has no idea who his biological parents are. When he started showing proficiency in entertainment, he was moved to Dara and Aislin's tent. Edan grew up very much loved and though none were blood related, the bonds could have never been stronger. They were taught the art of entertainment from the time they showed the smallest hint of talent. Liam became a dancer while Lia and Edan sang and composed. He was taught etiquette and manners from his mother while his father oversaw their education until Edan was ten years old.
When Edan was ten years old, there was an Azvanara raid on his troupe who had moved a little too close to their territory. The escape still gives him nightmares. The three siblings were taken care of first, ushered out of the camp and told to go toward the nearby Tantrii, with both Liam and Liaden promising to take care of their younger brother if anything happened to them. His parents died in the fight, and the siblings were separated. Edan has been on his own ever since, deciding to make a name for himself while keeping an ear out for his siblings.

Other extended family: Everyone was everyone's extended family. It was a very tight knit community and biological parents were very confusing and usually unknown.
Abilities
-Story/Song Projection-
Edan has the ability to weave stories and poems in his head and project them into reality. Not exactly a holographic image but something very similar. It's very lifelike, even if it's small (think about the size of people on a 20" Television set).
He can do it in either 3-D or 2-D projection. However, he's more likely to do a 2-D because it takes less effort/energy and is much easier.
The ability does take quite a bit of concentration, however, so he has to be committed to telling the story. Little distractions should be okay - shifting around, picking his nose, brushing at his hair, narrarating or gesturing should all be fine. Should questions be asked and he feel the need to answer, however, the projection would halt and then fade while he took his mind off the weaving of the story itself to take care of the question.
-Quick Mind-
While not a magical ability, Edan's quick witted and often times can come up with retorts, stories, or poems to just about anything. Usually his wit is meant as a way to keep his pride unwounded. Those who are able to stump him tend to earn his respect.
The same wit can be applied to someone he wants to help out in a situation. If a friend comes to him with a problem that needs resolving, Edan can and probably will find a way to fix it. Of course, his schemes may be a bit out there but the end would come out to the desired outcome. Obviously, the person should probably state it if they want the solution to be quick and to the point.
It helps with his improv as well, giving him the ability to react as though he knew something was going to happen when he really does not. Handy, especially when someone has pissed him off by surprising him and taking him out of control with something and he needs to act reasonable, calm, or happy about it. It's also the biggest reason he's so successful as an entertainer and bard.
-Glamour-
He has a minor (Note: VERY minor) ability to create appearance illusions (Glamours) on himself. He can give himself...Say a tail, if he wanted it. This tail would be intangible and disappear after about an hour and he wouldn't be able to cast another illusion until the down time has passed. Down time is dependant on the difficulty of the illusion to maintain. A tail would have a larger downtime than a hair-color change - and a color change would also be able to stay active longer should he want it to.
These glamours can only be cast on himself. This goes hand in hand with his music magic.
Weaknesses
-First and foremost Edan is useless in battle unless the bad guy gets a kick out of fancy talking and poetry and can be easily distracted by it. Seriously. He'd be more interested in how the sun hits the blade and sends off shimmers of light onto the bloodstained field rather than how to skewer and enemy with it...Or, you know, how to bend them over and have his nasty way with them depending on his mood. You really don't want to catch him in that one, though.
Quite honestly, he's more likely to talk the enemy to death.
However, his pride won't allow him to say he cannot fight. If he's ever challenged to a duel, he's like to accept (Honor and all that jazz). And promptly get his a** beat.
In spite of that, he DOES have some use FOR battle. While he can't do jack in the actual fighting, his schemes and plans could certainly work for battle tactics.
-Edan is easily distracted. Not because he doesn't have the ability to focus on one thing (he does, chooses not to most of the time) but his mind is constantly searching for something else to do. Don't be surprised if he's talking to you and a gust of wind comes up, shakes the grass, and he skips off to study the movement and starts spouting poetry at the "inspiring blade"
In fact, this is likely to get him killed one of these days.

Should he be distracted by something that he deems better than the someone he's currently talking to, he's going to politely excuse himself with some kind of flourish and move on to the next thing rather quickly.
Personality:
Edan is, in all honesty, a fun loving, happy go lucky guy. He hates being down, and he hates other people being down as well. He's a wonderful listener and often times has decent advice to offer people - though sometimes the way he puts things makes you have to think about it.
His biggest passion in life is music. His biggest joy is composing and performing his own songs. He also has a tendency to write prose and do odd things like dance in the rain. There is absolutely no way to bore Edan - he will always find something to do and enjoy doing it.
Personal bubbles don't exist to him, either. He will touch, hug, kiss - and not hesitate to show affection. This can be a little annoying if you're just meeting him, but people tend to get used to it. His self confidence is definitely bordering on 'vain'. Actually, it's gone way past 'vain' and has entered the realm of 'how the hell does his ego fit through the door'.
Edan's a bit of a daredevil. His motto in life is "Tomorrow never comes" and he lives just like that. He's an optimist, not ever wanting to worry about things that may never happen. He finds no point in fretting or worrying. There's so much more to life, and if it happens, it's meant to.
As such, he will try just about anything twice - because he may have gotten it wrong the first time.
