It was raining, and Shiloh was standing on a slab of concrete. Everything here seemed dull and desaturated and eerie. It was like a stillness had come over the town. He wasn't in the college anymore, that was for sure.

He didn't know where he was. <********> he wheeled around, eyes wide. Where was he? Or the other Moonwalkers? Or...? Anyone? "Anyone...?" What was this place? Everything felt so surreal...

...surreal like small, tiny little tortoise inching its way up the sidewalk. For the most blissful of moments, Shiloh had almost forgotten that he was 1. Bleeding out of his shoulder, 2. Looking for his missing best friend, 3. Just endured a life or death situation and 4. Was lost in what he could only assume was, in fact, Hell.

Alright, so now he was looking for Jamie with a turtle safely tucked under his arm. This was fine. He had two friends now, and by god they were all going to get out of here alive.

Chris blinked as he came through the portal, eyes adjusting to dark and dim of Other Ashdown. It was raining, a little harder than usual, but nothing Chris couldn't deal with and he shivered a little. His undershirt was thin and wasn't good defense against the rain, but he could deal with it.

He blinked, taking a glance at where he was. It wasn't the college, just a strip of street he wasn't in the mood to recognize, and luckily for him, Shiloh was nearby.

"Shiloh!" He called out, crossing from where he was over to the boy. He glanced over him, making sure he was okay, and took note of the turtle. Somehow that didn't surprise him.

When Jamie went through the portal, what he expected to be was what he'd been the last time he was here, an animal. The full moon dictated it so for now, as well, and a snowshoe hare is what he'd indeed become, a lone white fur ball on a rainy sidewalk somewhere in Other Ashdown.

Though he wasn't sure how long it would take Lady to come let him out, he could only assume she'd make time when she could. It didn't diminish the sudden feeling of loneliness, though, when no one else appeared. Loneliness edged into worry and worry into fear until sitting out in the open was something Jamie just couldn't bring himself to continue. Slipping a bit on the wet sidewalk, he hop-scurried into a nearby bush where he waited, ears low against his head, for something, anything to happen that wasn't solitude and the pitter-patter of raindrops.

Time felt like it didn't exist, and nothing continued to happen in abundance, but Jamie never closed his eyes. In fact, he barely moved until something familiar rang in his sensitive ears, a voice, and one he wasn't expecting to hear at all.

'Mr. Watts?!'

Hopping out of the bushes, the little hare with the spotty forepaws slid out onto the sidewalk, stance tense, eyes wide, but the person he saw wasn't Mr. Watts, it was Shiloh, someone he admittedly expected even less than his teacher. Unmoving and unsure if he was simply seeing things in this strange, confusing world, Jamie stood his ground.

Shiloh froze when he heard a familiar voice—and not the one he was really looking for.

"Mr. Wa—Chris?!" his jaw fell opened, posture tense, hair a fluffy mess without the confines of his hat. Without his jacket, the wound on his shoulder was much more exposed, looked much more tender and raw. The rain was doing well to wash away the blood however, both the bits that had dried and the slow trickle that still oozed from the gash.

"How—Where are we? Where's Jamie?!" he huffed, gesticulating wildly with his arm (though not rambunctious enough to disturb the turtle). He didn't want to panic, but he was getting pretty damn close.

"If I can't find him and—and if we can't get home and, and—he was hurt Chris we have to find him." He'd already probably lost Thorne, after all. Of course, he did a 180 a moment later, "I swear to god I'm going to ******** FIGHT HIM when I FIND HIM."

"You can't just—You can't just run off like that, you can't—!"

The fear was real. The turtle prodded its head out tentatively. The rabbit behind him had gone unnoticed.

Chris didn't know if he was amused or slightly disappointed that Shiloh hadn't expected him to chase after him through the portal. More amused, the decided, but that wasn't what mattered now.

"We're in Other Ashdown," He answered as calm as he could, still keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. It didn't seem anything was going to ******** with them, but it was better safe than sorry. "I don't know where Jamie is, but he's around here somewhere I bet."

He settled back on Shiloh, taking a glance at the cut on his arm. He should get that fixed up soon. Chris already knew the marks on his face would scar slightly and he wiped some watery blood out of his eyes. "We'll find him and we'll get home Shiloh, it'll be okay. I've been here before, I know my way around and I know how to do some of this."

A peek behind Shiloh though, found him spotting something that was both weird and vet vaguely familiar. "I don't think we'll have to look long or hard though, because I think that's Jamie behind you."

Had Shiloh not seen him? Spinning around like he'd lost his head, Shiloh looked ready to lose even more than that and if Jamie wanted anything in that moment it was to call out and comfort him.

'I-I'm right here,' he thought, already lifting onto his haunches, forepaws swimming through the air. 'Right here!'

This whole no voice thing was pretty damn unfotunate, and Jamie's chest was swelling with so many emotions he couldn't properly convey as a goddamn rabbit. The one most significant was plain and simple happiness, even if it was edged with guilt. It felt so much better to have them here, to realize he wasn't alone anymore, but the fact that they'd followed him when they could've easily gotten home without sidestepping through Other Ashdown made him feel almost like an inconvenience, too.

If nothing else, at least Mr. Watts seemed to notice him. At that, his rising and falling from his haunches grew even more frenzied.

    Shiloh froze.

Then he spun around with an amazing quickness. There would be time to ask about "Other Ashdown" later, because he had to find Jamie had to make sure he was okay had to make sure that—

...he found himself staring down at a rabbit. Not just any rabbit, but a pale white one with speckled brown paws. Whatever the rabbit was, it seemed very concerned, what with how it kept... bobbling up and down like that.

"JAMIE? I-IS THAT YOU? WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU?" he quickly dropped down to his knees—rather, fours—as he tried to make himself eye level with the rabbit. There was no way it could be Jamie, no way—except... except the rabbit totally had the same eyes, crystal clear and blue like the ocean (not that Shiloh had ever seen the ocean, but Jamie liked the ocean so that was obvious what his eyes were like). Okay, uh, he didn't know what Jamie's eyes looked like to that extent. They were blue. Just blue. Blue like this rabbit. ******** him it was totally Jamie.

"MY BEST FRIEND IS A BUNNY." he despaired aloud, leaning back at his knees so he could wail at the raining sky, turtle clutched in both of his arms. Maybe this whole night had a bigger effect on his general mental stability that he anticipated...

If Chris thought he was having a bad night, this apparently was nothing compared to the absolute ******** break down Shiloh was having right now. He stared in mild alarm and concern for a few minutes, wondering what exactly to do if he could do anything. He had never really been told how to deal with your student, soon to be former once he graduated, when they were in the middle of basically wondering what their life was.

Nonetheless, he walked over to be beside Shiloh, crouching before Jamie and giving Shiloh an awkward tentative rub on his back. It'd probably be okay kid.

"Seeing how he's a were, or uh what was the term? Moonwalker?" Chris had not been paying attention obviously. For shame, biology teacher. "I think that he'll be able to turn back. It is a full moon tonight, I'm presuming. It'll be okay Shiloh."

This was rather awkward. What do you say to your former student turn rabbit? "Are you um. Okay Jamie?"

When Shiloh dropped, so did Jamie, back to all fours, taking a few steps back at the loud and unexpected reaction. Yeah, his friend could be dramatic, that much was obvious from the scene he'd made when they were first reunited, but he hadn't been ready for these kinds of theatrics. It was all made that much more surreal by the turtle in his arms, too. Jamie was a rabbit and Shiloh found a turtle somewhere in this dreary, empty place and Chris, well, Chris was actually looking pretty normal at this point...

Turning to his teacher, his ears perked forward. 'I-I'm okay,' he thought, velveteen nose running a mile a minute. Wait no, Mr. Watts wasn't a mind reader—at least, Jamie hadn't been told so, anything was possible at this point—so he nodded in response instead.

He was okay now that he wasn't alone, but for a moment he hoped if Eve and Lily had come through the portal that they were okay. He hoped they weren't alone. It was hard to keep his ears from drooping at the thought.

Shiloh needed him now, though. Both Eve and Lily were strong and Jamie made himself believe they would be okay. Just like Lucas would be okay. Jamie made himself believe he'd gotten out of the building undetected, too.

Tiny bunny paws papped gently against the turtle Shiloh was holding and Jamie tried to give him a look that turned Chris's question to him back around on his friend. 'Are you okay...?'. It probably just looked like he was staring.

HE'LL NEVER WALK

ACROSS THE STAGE
PostPosted: Thu May 26, 2016 1:34 pm

There was a hand on his back. There was a hand touching him— Shiloh Beaumont—on his back. His head slowly turned towards Chris, eyes tearing off of the rabbit in front of him only as the last possible moment. Chris was touching him—albeit in an attempt to be consoling—but he was touching him.

And then there was a weight at the front, and he turned to see the rabbit—Jamie, His friend, The Rabbit—with his paws up on the docile little turtle he'd brought along. He was staring at him, staring into his soul.

"He can't speak." Shiloh stated the obvious, "C-Chris he's never going to—was like, was what happened before just a phase? Is he always going to stay a rabbit?!" the thought was absolutely horrifying. "I-I said we'd get icees and—how are we supposed to listen to music again his ears are too big for headphones and—oh my god Chris WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO TELL HIS PARENTS?" Yep, back to screaming.

"HE'LL NEVER GET TO GRADUATE SCHOOL." like that was the worst of either of their worries, but Shiloh proclaimed it anyway as he scooped up Bunmie into the crook of his other arm, "HE'S TOO SHORT TO REACH THE DIPLOMA! HE'LL NEVER WALK ACROSS THE STAGE."

Chris only gave a little nod at Jamie to assure him he noticed his answer, relieved slightly that at least he was okay. That was one thing that was working out, now it was just making sure they could find their way out. Chris wasn't great at finding exits but he could possibly magic one, it was just getting everyone calm.

By everyone, Chris mostly meant Shiloh.

He had to stifle a laugh, unable to cut Shiloh off at his freak out about graduation. It was a logical conclusion, in a way, but it was just so.. perfectly absurd. He cleared his throat though, taking his hand off Shiloh's back. He seemed to get the impression that he didn't want it, if the look he gave him was anything.

"I don't think he'll stay a rabbit forever Shiloh," He repeated calmly, glancing over Jamie and thinking back to what he knew about weres. They weren't the same, obviously, but there was always truth in legends. "He's a moonwalker, which I'm guessing is like a werewolf. He'll be human when the moon sets." He chewed on his lip for a second, then offered, "He could've been forced to be half human because of normal Ashdown. It doesn't like magic and this, this is pretty magical. Do you know if you can choose your form though Jamie?"

He disregarded the question about parents for now - hell, Chris didn't even know what to say.

Despite his best attempts at making sure Shiloh was okay, Jamie hadn't expected to make that much of a difference with an animal face and no voice to say what he felt, but this absolutely over the top reaction was yet another thing on the list of didn't think that was gonna happen. Ears pinned immediately back again and his eyes were saucers as he stared up at Shiloh, slowly repelled back off of the turtle by the shear force of the response. Not that he got very far, of course. His friend made sure of that.

Without warning he was tucked into the crook of Shiloh's arm, forepaws going like he was trying to walk but getting absolutely no where. Too short to reach the diploma, hell, he was too short to reach the ground. Never walk across the stage, well, he wasn't walking anywhere now, either, was he?

'Shilooooh,' his mind blubbered, but obviously that didn't carry very well (or at all). 'Mr. Watts, help, Shiloh is l-l-losing it.'

Craning his neck to look over at their teacher, he opened his mouth, but no sounds came out. Jamie had no idea whether or not he could choose his form yet, but until the full moon set they wouldn't be able to find out. The best he could do was shake his head. Not much help, but what else could he do?

Wait. Yes. That was the obvious answer.

"We just have to find out way out of hell." he murmured with a sudden realization. They had found a portal into this place, so there surely had to be a way out.

Yes, Chris was even confirming it. They just had to get back.

Shiloh stood with purpose, turtle under one arm and Bunmie in the other. He was determined.

"WHY THE HELL ARE WE STANDING AROUND THEN?!" still in hysterics, but at least it was focused hysterics.

Speaking of, there he went, charging off in some nondescript direction.

Jamie didn't know and so Chris just fussed with his sleeves, thinking. There wasn't much he could do then except try and make sure they didn't run into anything while here. That much he could handle right?

He gave a mumbled hum to Shiloh's murmur, not entirely thinking as he tried to think about a way to get out. There was always doorways, which Chris could attempt. He could try magic too, which he had only done a couple times before but it was enough that he could try it again. Practice making perfect and all that.

He almost didn't notice Shiloh's sudden stance but it was lucky he did because soon after, Shiloh went ******** charging off.

"Wait! ********, SHILOH!" Chris yelled, running after him. "DON'T GO RUNNING OFF, THIS PLACE IS DANGEROUS!"

'S-Shiloh, wait, Shiloh, no-!'

It sucked not having a voice. It really, really, really sucked. Now that Jamie had been reunited with them both, it felt absolutely wrong to get separated again, especially over here in Other Ashdown. Whatever this place was, Jamie didn't fully understand it yet. He'd been told bits and pieces, very small ones, and the only time he'd been here before now he'd had a guide. If they were going to get out of here, wouldn't it be better to stay with the adult?

And then Mr. Watts was yelling about how dangerous this place was and Jamie could feel his heart sinking straight through his body and down to the sidewalk to be stepped on.

Wriggling and pawing incessantly at Shiloh's arm, he tried to get him to stop.
