Suhailah yawned and stretched as the morning sun began to shine into her eyes, signaling the arrival of the new day.
It took the lioness a while before she was actually ready to get up and going. She had walked all the previous day and late into the night trying to find a relatively safe place where she could find some food. Somehow she'd managed to get herself lost in a dry and dusty land where there was nothing for miles.
Eventually the lioness managed to get herself through it as always. Exhausted, Suhailah arrived to a grassy valley and nearly collapsed at the first sign of water. After resting for a bit, she finally hunted down a small pig and then collapsed under some large rocks where she would be hidden.
Once her strength returned to her from her long night, Suhailah stood up and slowly began to explore the area.

In her little corner of the savanna, Mariam tended her flowers. She watered them using a carefully-crafted pitcher made from woven plants, lined on the inside with a combination of honey as a glue and mosses to keep water from escaping. Tucked behind her ear was one of the flowers, always the same one, never seeming to rot away.
It was the only clue, to the observant, of what she was, what she was supposed to be, why the flowers were important to her. She let out a sigh, watering the last plant, before looking up. Like a sun moving across the savanna, she spied another lion. "Hey! Watch where you step, the flowers don't like being walked on!" There was no anger in her words, simply cautionary words of warning. "And don't try to eat them! You'll die." THAT one she knew VERY well.

The weary lioness cautiously looked around and sniffed at the ground here and there as she walked through the valley that she'd stumbled upon. Her ears stood upright as she listened to all the sounds around her, staying prepared for any sign of danger. She wasn't exactly in a state to get caught up in a fight and preferred to retreat before any serious happened.
Eventually, Suhailah came upon the edge of what appeared to be a garden of flowers. Strange, they seemed like they were taken care of, but the lioness hadn't seen anyone else so far. Curious, she took a step closer and leaned down to sniff one when she suddenly heard a voice call through the air.
"Hello?," Suhailah called back as she searched for the source voice. "I won't step on or try to eat your flowers, I promise! Where are you?"
