Lt. Russtite calmly strode down the street, ignoring the sounds of sirens heading for the place he'd just come from. Following the feral youma to the store had been fruitful, since in the confusion he'd managed to steal a starseed from a random shopper and leave the scene without being noticed. The little gem was tucked securely in his pocket, waiting for him to bring it back to headquarters to help replenish their supply. Now he just needed to find a ranking officer to bring him to Negaspace.

He considered how and when to do that. He could just find a private place and pull out his communicator crystal now, of course. That would certainly be the quickest and safest way. But the night was going so well so far, and he felt no desire to cut the fun short. Perhaps he could gather some energy while he was out, and have even more resources to turn in. He smirked and turned down an alley. It was night time in a city. He could always find someone vulnerable if he prowled the alleys long enough.

Slievenamon could only look down at the preceding below with a dark glare, one hand tightened on the lapel of her uniform as if trying to steady the thump of her enraged heart. She didn't understand this sudden urge to attack Negaverse agents on sight. It wasn't her way; she knew the balance Chaos played in this eternal war. They were essential, just like the senshi keeping them at bay. One could not exist without the other.

Even with the murders, even with the carnage, they were needed.

Yet, she couldn't let this one escape. The squire stood tall and then dropped down from the roof she once sat upon, following Lt. Russtite into the alleyway he entered. Her hand squeezed her shell flute hard enough to strain the skin on her knuckles a tight white.

"You there," she called to him. "Kind of late to be terrorizing the civilians of this city, isn't it?"

At the sound of footsteps and a voice calling out to him, Russtite stopped and looked over his shoulder. The Lieutenant wasn't sure how he'd missed the nearby Order energy signature, but there was now a Knight standing behind him. Or at least one of the lower ranks; a Squire most likely. She felt stronger than him, but not as much as a General. He eyed her a moment, then smirked again. he could have tried to escape of course, but he was feeling good. Perhaps he could add her starseed to his haul.

He turned around to face her. "I could say the same to you," he retorted. "Kind of late to be pestering random pedestrians, isn't it?" As he spoke, he tried to assess her combat abilities. He saw no sign of a weapon, unless that shell in her hand counted. Knights had magic, didn't they? Hard to tell what she might be capable of. He could summon his own weapon, but the rusty bucket would be most useful as a distraction. Best wait and see if he could surprise her.

The squire's mind was telling her to reassess the situation; figure out what he did, convince him to stop and/or just hand over whatever energy or starseeds he's gathered, and then go from there. Unfortunately, the Chaos in her kicked this thought of the door in a matter of seconds, and Slievenamon's hand was already drifting over toward her signet ring. Concentrating, she activated her Aspect, and launched at the Negaverse lieutenant with the intent to harm.

"I don't have time for this," she growled, swinging her shell flute out like a club. "You, Negaverse, really are scum!"

Apparently the shell was a weapon, since she was rushing him with it held like a club. She was also shimmering with a watery light, and he had no idea what that might do. Playing defense would be prudent now. He didn't bother to respond to her words; he had more pressing matters to deal with; namely concentrating on the fight.

He quickly summoned his bucket, then swung it up in time to intercept the shell. A clang! resounded through the alley as the weapons connected, leaving the rusty container with a deep dent. Immediately he stepped to one side and swung the bucket towards her, hoping more to drive her back than actually do any damage.

The strength she used to whip her instrument about sent a thrum up her arm. Slievenamon's eyes narrowed at the Negaverse agent as his weapon, a bucket, came her way. Without enough time to propel herself back, she took the brunt of his attack with grace; barely letting out a grunt of pain as it caught her on her shoulder. Not letting this close opportunity to go waste, Slievenamon aimed for his body next—in particular Russtite's knee—to slam with her shell flute.

Whoops, sorry for the small wait. My replies might be a little sporadic tonight since I am juggling both Gaia and anime/Animal Crossing. Just a head's up.

Instead of moving away, she took the hit and struck back at him. Form that position, Russtite wasn't able to block or dodge in time, and her shell smacked into his knee with a sharp crack.

He staggered from the pain and the fact that his knee suddenly did not want to hold his weight. But he refused to let that stop him. With a grunt of effort he managed to straighten the leg and lock it in place, which out to hold him for a bit. Then he swung his bucket at her head while thrusting his other hand at her chest. If he could grab her starseed, this battle would be over, and well worth the pain.

No worries. I'm bouncing between this and watching anime.

Again, she took the pain. Dizziness caused her to stumble back and, as she tried to regain her senses, she was at the mercy of Russtite's aim for her starseed.

Almost.

Before his fingertips grazed the front of her uniform, she caught his hand, and held it hard within her own. She applied enough strength to even make her arm tremble, a malicious glower overcoming her teal eyes. With the other, she pressed the sharpened end of her shell flute at the male's abdomen.

"Energy, starseeds, which did you take," she said, her tone less of a question and more of a demand. "Return them. Now."

His bucket connected with her again, and as his other hand approached he grinned in excitement. He would soon have his prize!

But not yet. She managed to grab his hand before he could plunge it into her chest. As soon as her fingers closed around his wrist, he was ready to twist the hand free in a very basic self-defense move, which should free him despite the fact she was gripping hard enough to hurt. Yet he froze when something sharp dug into his abdomen. he glanced down for the barest moment, just long enough to see that her shell was pressed into his shirt before returning his focus to her face.

His eyes narrowed at the question - or more of a demand - and he did not answer right away. He could claim he hadn't managed to get either, that in the confusion he hadn't managed to corner anyone. Or just give her the starseed, then go run off and get another before heading back to HQ. But he didn't like the idea of just giving up.

Instead he sagged, as if in defeat. "OK. Let me just get it," he mumbled. He dropped his bucket, letting it clang onto the pavement, then started to reach for his pocket...but his now-free hand suddenly changed course and shot towards her chest. He wasn't going to give up on getting her starseed!

Slievenamon's eyes widened at the hand she had not expected to come at her again. Realizing her Aspect was still activated, the squire jumped back before he could lay a hand on her, and mentally rebuked herself that the position she once had him in was no more. Worse, after concentrating on her wonder to stop her Aspect, a surge of Chaos energy palpitated her chest and brought her down to one knee. She choked back a grunt, panting heavily.

"Y-you'll die," Slievenamon said, clawing at her chest and wincing up at the lieutenant. It sounded like she was pleading with him. "I c-can't guarantee anything anymore and you... You had your chance. I'm sorry."

Raising her shell flute above her head with the sharpened end out like a dagger, she launched herself at him with it aimed at his own chest and starseed.

Russitite curse when she managed to get away from him. Although now he was free again, his knee still hurt to trust moving it. He was about to bend down to retrieve his bucket when she collapsed to one knee, clawing at her chest. Why? He hadn't even hit her that hard.

Wait...something felt odd about her. He frowned as he tried to pinpoint what it was. He only half-heard her words as he focused on the anomaly. Was that...a hint of chaos in her aura?

He was so distracted that her sudden attack caught him completely flatfooted. He tried to run, but as soon as he moved his hurt knee, it gave out and he collapsed to the ground. Then she was upon him, her shell plunging straight into his chest.

Unoderi
You can consider that a killing blow now if you like.

Red stained the base of Slievenamon's shell flute and her hands when she drove it in. Reasoning told her that was enough, he was done, she could run now. Escape and hole herself up on her wonder to think about what she had done. But she didn't. She plunged it deeper, tears pearling on the corners of her eyes as she ensured the lieutenant's death.

Her energy gave out there and she released her hold about her weapon, collapsing back to sitting beside the Negaverse agent's body. Hugging her knees to her chest, she let out short, loud wails for what'd she'd done, before getting up. Shoving a hand into the pocket Russtite had searched before, she felt the cool surface of a starseed, and pulled it out.

Holding it between forefinger and thumb, she glanced between the life to be returned and one she had taken. "T-that was the right thing to do, right?" she asked, pulling her shell flute out of the Negaverse agent's chest. "Right?"

Then and there, Slievenamon reasoned she didn't have time to be considering the ethics of life and death of the war between Order and Chaos. There was a body without a soul and she had every intention of returning it. Turning on her heel, she hopped up to one of the rooftops above the alleyway, and made her way off with the starseed in hand.

mewrose
All righty! We can end it there and start the other, if you'd like?
