Chel had been spending more and more time with Mel. The girl was cute, they'd been sharing a couch for almost two weeks (one of which Chel had gotten the girl to share the couch) and quite frankly, she was cute. Tiny golden curls, innocent as ******** and a dislike for her mother.
It wasn't hard to fall in love with people. Chel did it all the time in fact. And now was one of those such times.
"Hey," she told the girl while she looked through one of those coin operated binoculars along the cliffside of the beach. There wasn't anything to see, but it was fun to play along. "Is this like a date?"

"Depends on you," Mel smiled, stepping away from her own set of binoculars to look at the taller girl. She'd been spending more and more time with her, enough so that she guessed they could call whatever they were doing a date. They were doing date like things after all. Wandering around the beach simply to hang out with each other and enjoy one another's company seemed date like enough. Plus she was a great couch cuddle buddy. She'd never really thought of dating a girl before, but really she wasn't against it. Her mother might have had other opinions on the matter, but luckily she didn't care one bit.

"Naw depends on you," Chel very intelligently countered.
As Chel looked through the binoculars, pretending to actually draw some deeper meaning from it, she couldn't help but reflect on the situation. "I mean yer fun. I'm a shitton of fun. We could kick it."
Clearly whatever she was setting up was a very serious, romantic engagement.

"You're not very good at this are you?" Amelia laughed, hands sliding into her pockets. To be fair she wasn't really good at those sort of things either. Really she was only good at being broke.
"I mean you're attractive, I'm pretty attractive. We would be an attractive pair. It works." Amelia was all for the romantic things, but she definitely knew that was not Chel's way about doing things, so this would just have to work for now.

Chel sidled over to slide her hands around Amelia's waist, forming a loop and resting her hands on the girl's stomach. Mel was short, and it made it easy for Chel to rest her head on the girl's shoulder.
"What? I'm amazin' at this. Just got a girlfriend an' everything." Chel was one for jokes, not blushing and awkward confessions. But at the end of the day it meant that things like this, even relationships, were jokes.
Still, like the last one she silently said she'd do her best. "We'll live under a bridge with a picket fence an' everythin'."

"That sounds exciting. Our own bridge to ourselves," Mel nodded, leaning back against the taller woman. They were going to be an odd pair to say the least, but that was a bit of an understatement. At least together they would have some fun. It'd been a while since she'd had fun with anyone really. Usually wasn't her style to jump into relationships, but here she was.

Chel's head sank to her shoulder (short girlfriends were always the best ones) and she rested her lips on the girl's neck. Not inciting anything, just waiting and watching.
"So how do we play this buttercup?" she asked. There were a lot of ways to be a girlfriend; open, closed, clingy, empty. All sorts of ways to play.

"Well we can just wing it. See how things go. We can have a fun sort of thing going for us. The hottest babes in Ashdown," Mel suggested, not really sure what to say. She wasn't exactly a relationship type of person. She had had flings, but nothing serious. Then again this was Chel. She doubted it would be too serious.

"Solid," she responded. There was already a hesitance to her voice, like she didn't even believe her own words.
This was going to go very well. "So what do yer elf eyes see?" she asked the other girl, referring to the beach telescope.

"My elf eyes? What're you talking about?" Mel laughed, not getting the reference whatsoever. Shame on her. "I see a bunch of seagulls. And sand. Lots of that. Nothing too exciting." When she met Chel she wasn't expecting to get a girlfriend out of it, but hey she wouldn't complain.

"You and Chris counted seals? That's really cute. Let's see," Mel trailed off, glancing through the telescope again. It took her a little bit to scan around, but eventually she spotted one of the creatures.
"Hey hey I found one!"
