Goleta
////

The Elven lands, which also homes the Dwarves and Shape-Shifters. Led by the Sencenbaugh family for generations. The current King is Goliad, the current Queen is Melarue. The only heirs is Amira, Princess of the Spring, and Lucra, Prince of the Autumn.

It is a land vastly covered in forests and mountains. Many of the Elven cities reside in the mountains, near the valleys, or in tree-house like communities. The dwarves have their own cities in caves or in the deeper valleys. The capital city is known as Kerash, and is the most elaborate kingdom built on the forest floor, yet still emcompasses the old trees in the architecture. The soil if Goleta is fertile and as such many foods can be harvested there year round.

According to most, the Elves are the most refined and sophisticated of all the species. Most elves stick to the old traditions, and do not embrace mixed-species love. Most who fall for another species are banished to other lands. The Elves fall into ranks of society, like that of the medieval times for humans; Royalty, High Class (Dukes, Duchesses, Noblemen, etc), Middle Class (Artisans, Blacksmiths, City Workers), and Low Class (Peasants). Most of the Low Class are farmers, that tend to the crops for the kingdom. Most of the armies soldiers are of the Middle Class. They value music and art higher than ways of expressing their material wealth. It is uncommon to find different classes mingling amongst one another, and marriages between lower classes and higher classes is deemed as unfit. Only those from the High Class can marry royals, and only those of Middle Class can marry those of High Class. The Low class cannot marry any other class, unless approached by another class (usually only Middle Class).

The clothing is like that of India, with wraps and saris in a variety of colors and styles. For the higher classes, they wear a garb covered in gold or silver, adorned with jewellery to show their status. Lower classes wear simpler clothing without the accessories and piercings to show their humble backgrounds. There is no distinction between color and fabric amongst classes, as even lower class can wear a royal purple shade in their clothes. Similar to Fashrade, arranged marriages are common in this nation. Elves are always slender, tall, with long hair and light colored eyes of any shade. Their skin tone can vary depending on the type of Elf they are -- ice elves are extremely pale while Night elves are the darkest in skin tone. Their main export is food from their lush soil and their main import is weaponry, commonly imported from Fashrade and sometimes other countries.

The flag of Goleta represents their bond with nature. The green colors were to represent different things that Goleta holds dear. The olive green background represents the peace they hold amongst the other nations, the dark green center design represents their strength when they come together, and the medium green tree represents their roots to nature and their Gods.

Kerash

The Elven kingdom which is the most elaborate and grand of the tree-house like communities that the Elves live in. Kerash combines stonework into the large kingdom to suit the vast amount of Elves who live there. The palace itself is made more of stone than nature, mostly to provide protection for her royal family. Within the walls of the grand palace were elaborate gardens where live animals were free to roam. The most commonly seen both in the interior and exterior gardens were peacocks. Outside the palace stood the Statues of the Gods, which most of those in Istrea followed as the true Gods, the Goddess of Life and the God of Death. The statues were carved from old trees and in summer months branches grew from both in a flourish of colors.

Townsfolk live amongst the trees or along the forest floor, typically the more grand treehouse like homes are for the middle and upper class to show their rank to the lower classes. Regardless of where the houses are, they are all made from the same kind of material; stone and wood. Elves and the other species who live in Kerash (along with anywhere in Goleta) are nature-oriented.

Elven fashion would be that of Indian fashion, with bright colored saris and elaborate designs for any class.

Goleta Religion

The religion of Goleta is one that is simple and does not have many rules or boundaries. It is a religion which has only two Gods; one of Life and one of Death, polar opposites that rule together. The Goddess of Life, Eliora, is always portrayed as dressed in any garb of white and carries a lantern wherever she goes. Ancient stories say that the lantern is lit with the souls she looks after, and should the lantern go out all life in Istrea will perish as the flames did. The God of Death, Merrikh, is always depicted as wearing black clothing and a blood-red cloak that covers him. He is always shown as holding an hourglass, each grain of sand that falls being a century gone until the world is reborn again into a new age of glory.

While the Gods have a signigicance in Goleta's religion, they are seen as neutral beings that do not directly control the lives and fates of the people. They merely watch and let those in Goleta live their lives as they see fit.
