Rutledge Asylum has stood in the middle-of-nowhere in Oklahoma for almost a century to date. It has never been known for cruelly treating patients. In fact, it was one of the best Asulyms someone could ever go to. The orderlies and doctors were kind, patient, and understanding. The patients appreciated the help and recovered in record time. There were no cases of mistreatment, no lobotomies to keep patients in line. It was the heaven of Asylums. Just a year ago, people went into the Asulym and never returned. These weren't patients going in, they were visitors and family. Even, at times, new doctors. Attempts to find them came empty-handed when nothing was recovered. Still, many felt that something dark and sinister had begun to take hold of Rutledge. After all, so many felt that it's perfect record would quickly become tainted. Had it happened so soon?
You are part of a team of investigators, journalists, and detectives who have been sent to Rutledge to find out why no one has returned. There are reports of the lights flickering on and off, screams, and other ungodly things. Be warned, it may be worse than you may have imagined. Keep on your toes and make sure to collect all the information you can.
✘ This story is a survival genre, focusing more on psychological horror and paranoia rather than blood and gore for violence. However, given the plot and the type of patients you will encounter, some levels of violence will be experienced. For an idea of how the story might unfold, please reference games such as Outlast.
✘ While there is no set limit for the amount of characters you can make, I recommend only using one. This is mostly because the group entering the Asylum is small, only about 6-8 people. That isn't to say you are limited to making an outsider character. You may choose to create someone who has been trapped and surviving within the walls before those outsiders came in. Options to play the patients are also available, but please contact me first.
✘ Anyone can walk into this RP and leave at any time, although I encourage everyone to stay. You can begin posting right away, but do read through previous posts to understand what has been uncovered, where characters are, and what is going on before posting. I will try and provide a "Story Thus Far" section to assist in the storyline for newcomers.
✘ Use a real life picture for your profile picture. It can be any successful actor, musician, comedian, or even any Tumblr user you want. The picture can change from post to post, but make sure it is the same person used each time.
✘ To help keep track of who is posting, since there are no direct profiles, please make sure to use your real-person picture and their full name on each post. I recommend making a basic banner to sort this problem. You can also add things like "supplies", "people in company", "feeling", and other such details underneath. Because no profiles are posted, you are required to provide information over the course of the RP, but only when it is necessary to the plot to advance. For an example of a banner, see the "spoiler" below.

✘ If your character dies off, for any reason, this does not mean you cannot continue the RP. Other characters can be made, or you can take over a "missing" character should any other player have left for an unexplained reason (see the rule below for more information).
✘ Please keep in mind that if you are absent from posting in the RP for an extended period of time, without explanation, your character will either go missing or be killed off, depending on how the plot of the RP is advancing. Should you return, you can resume playing your missing character if they have not been claimed, and have them return to the group or you can have them go solo for a while. It's up to you. Many people think that some kind of virus was let into the Asylum, triggering a lock-down that people unknowingly walked into. Others think that it may be a biological warfare strategy, using untested and highly unstable chemicals on the patients to see the outcome. Regardless of the cause, the fact is clear that these are patients no longer, only primal creatures with cannibalistic tenancies. Patients will attack each other, only forming into groups to attack multiple targets to feed off of. They do not look any different from an average patient, with the exception of being covered in their target's blood and showing signs of severe aggression and territorial tendencies. You must be wary of them all, as they are dangerous and will attack without warning. These patients are light and sound sensitive, which is your only hope of defeating them. There are a select few that seem to be in a catatonic state, much different from the others. This group of patients remain in the Mess Hall (cafeteria) of the Asylum and are not approached by the other patients. Those in this area seem to have more human-like qualities. Approach these patients with caution, as it is unknown what can provoke them into a fury like state the other patients are capable of.
You only have minimal medical supplies and you aren't a professional fighter. If they come towards you, keep your distance and keep them back. If not, run and hope they cannot keep up. Otherwise, hide. Hide and find a way out. They are sensitive to light and seem to be nocturnal. Use anything that can produce bright light; flash-lights or even the flash of a camera. Use the sunlight to your advantage and spare using anything that takes battery power, as they might not last long.

Personality: Ebony is a hard-working Private Investigator, who has kept her actual identity secret by working as an Investigative Journalist under the alias of Rayne Hendrix. She keeps these two identities secret by altering her personality. When she is in private investigator mode (Ebony) she is very secretive, cautious, patient, intimidating, and extremely focused. The contrast of personality is seen most when she poses as Rayne, were she is an ambitious, energetic, soft-spoken journalist with a reputation for getting to the bottom of cases using just her communication skill.
Biography: Ebony grew up in a lower-class family where money was always tight. She had three older sisters who all turned to “exotic means” as they became old enough. Madison became a pole dancer at a club, Eleanor turned to prostitution, and Norah chose to work at a strip club. Ebony wanted to stray away from the grime and darkness of the community and turned to writing to try and expose the truth. Journalism is where she fell into, but she found a passion for investigation as well. She used her skills she learned in university for journalism to adapt herself to become a Private Investigator, using an alias for her Investigative Journalist identity. She was assigned to the Asylum as an Investigative Journalist, so to her new team she is merely Ebony, not Rayne Hendrix.

Personality: Ermolai is a very dedicated and focused person who has a lot of beliefs that many do not agree with. He works hard to get the results that he gets, pursuing each and every paranormal investigation with precision and finesse. He is respectful to every spirit he encounters, doing his best to achieve a connection with them that will give him the answers he seeks. He doesn’t claim to be a medium, but he can clearly see and talk to spirits. He is a patient person who knows how to read a situation so that he is not pushed into a corner. When he is out of his element, and out of control of the situation, he can become very anxious and lash out at those around him without intention.
Biography: Russian born and Britain raised, Mo is a very talented person in his field of research. Paranormal Investigation, Ghost Hunting to most, is much more interesting to him than anything else. He has published books of his findings and is well-known across the globe. He always worked hard and did his best to participate with other Investigators. He identifies as Wiccan, a male witch, and carries several items that assist him when he feels uncomfortable. He keeps his religious beliefs to himself and does his best to get along with those around him. He hates people who use reality television to further their careers, never having given his films to television companies, instead releasing them as is to his personal website, which is a hugely popular sight. He always answers questions and knows when to keep his mouth shut, when to fight, and when to run.
