FREE SAVE: If your ENTIRE team is wiped at any point in the event (or just the leader) you can use your FREE SAVE. This will restore the team to FULL HEALTH (where applicable) and let you redo the entire round with your CURRENT SAVE CARRIED OVER
- That means if your boss had 60 / 100 HP and you wiped, you get to restart all the characters at full health, with the boss still at 60/100 HP
- If you are doing tiles and you have finished 3/5 tiles but ran out of turns you get to restart and roll another 10 times from where your character left off at at the end of 10 rolls with all special abilities and turns refreshed.
- If you are at the last part and you've stepped on 6/10 tiles you get to restart that at 6/10 tiles with all the character special abilities and turns refreshed.
- YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE FREE SAVE ONCE EVER PER QUEST RUN, so if you use it in part 1, you cannot use it in part 2 or 3, etc etc.

Historical IC Background: The Sunken Cavern was once said to be a place of great wealth, a vast expanse of knowledge and power. Humans used to come from across the world to bask in its provisions and seek enlightenment, but over time the Cavern began to sink into the waters which rose every year. Due to the instability of the ground, the people fled the area, and the Cavern and all its teachings, belongings, and stash of priceless artifacts were lost. No one has dared to try and find it again, as some humans have claimed the Cavern was sunk because of the greed of humankind, and that there was a curse upon the place for all who tried to take that knowledge back.

GM: The GM is the one who is trying to get the artifact. They are the one who dropped off the form below in this thread and are paying the 5 RP points to try for it! They will be RUNNING the event with the prompts below (see below). All players however, should read all instructions.

Getting to the Cavern:
As the Cavern is half submerged in water, and is basically an underwater island, you'll have to open the portal very, very carefully - otherwise you might just find yourself learning what it's like to be a fish. Hunters can enter Halloween as well without a golem (recommended as the Isle itself is very golem unfriendly due to its climate and high altitude as well as natural enemies), for a max of 30 minutes. Each roll takes 5 IC minutes - students can pretty much park here as long as they need as well as horsemen while Hunters will need to exit and enter back again.
- Basically, all Hunter characters have 6 chances to find the portal. If they don't find it, they will need to leave and come back. Students and Horsemen do not need to ICly leave and come back.
- All players roll 1d100.
- Rolling 50 or less will let players find a portal that randomly leads to an island - except not the right island, where on Earth are you??
- Rolling 70 or less will let players find a portal that randomly leads to what appears to be an empty shack on an entirely different island. But there is something hostile lurking here...
- Rolling 80 or less will lead you to the Haunted House. Oops.
- Rolling 81 or higher will lead you to the portal that opens up on the most stable part of the Sunken Cavern. Congratulations, you've made it. I hope you know how to swim.

Whether or not Lawr was wearing his, there were black Mission cloaks for everyone. Lawr's cooperation depended on how far Harrison carried him, although Harrison didn't look like he was tiring out any time soon.

Rodney stuck close by, already concerned. Melvin, too, was upset. Was it because what had happened to Rin? Or just...generally because of the dangers these kind of excursions posed?

"It's on an island," Harrison said, once they'd stepped into the dim and eerily lit wood. "So you'll want to be looking out for a sorta salty smell."

This wood, at least, Rodney was familiar with.

Lawrence had balked at the very first mention of ocean artifacts and was genuinely and quite considerably distressed about the fact that he didn't have an option but to come on this little excursion. He didn't feel fear in the normal context most people did, primarily focused on continued survival and short-term things which saw to this. Within this specific purview, that of continued survival and not drowning he was about as terrified as it got. Once they were out of the room he'd desummoned his weapon but had not given up on getting out of Harrison's grip. Any time anyone let him go, he made a dash back to the dorms and when they went through the portal the claws returned.

It took every single scrap of self control Rep had not to throw the older man right into the sea, kept in check only by the fact that his boyfriend - or whatever the ******** passed for a boyfriend when you were a complete psycho - was with them. Though, to be frank he didn't have much good to say about whatever relationship was going on between them, he'd seen almost nothing but indifference and animosity since he'd gotten there. As it was he was really nonplussed about having to bring the guy with them for the sake of a headcount when he'd probably ******** get them killed somewhere along the way. The only upside was that they could get HIM killed and say it was a horrible mission accident. That was an upside.

Lawrence had to be carried all the way there in the end and simply sullenly held his mission cloak in his hand, in the forest it looked like he was strongly considering using his pendant at first chance. "Salty." he said, sniffing. "You have no idea what you smell like." he said irritably to the other man. "I don't know how I'll smell anything with you brutes around. Put me down again, I promise I won't run away again. Cross my heart."

Melvin had walked to the portals heading to the mission entrance with a hard pit in his stomach, thinking of the last time he had come and returned. Al was never recovered and no future reports from that area had any mention of him. The only physical thing he was able to ever bring was the red scarf that Noah had. He hadn't asked, but he had wondered what Rep had thought about it. Then again, with the way he talked once Rin was gone, he seemed to be a keep looking forward kind of person. Lawr's words still hung about him like a cloud and he looked at everyone, playing each scenario of what it would feel like if they somehow got taken or died at the end of all this. This was a simple mission after all, but it had been that too when Al and Dawson came with him.

Lawr's complaints couldn't penetrate the thick waves of worry, but Harrison's directions got the blonde to look up. "Got it." He said and tried to keep his eyes and nose open for any signs of water.

Walking, he glanced back over to Rep. "Hey."

Rep raised a brow at Melvin, looking surprised at the other man even talking to him.

"What?" he asked sullenly.

Melvin stared back a moment. "How have you been?"

Rep grunted and shrugged.

Melvin guess he should have expected as much. "Well...you look good. Uh, I mean - healthy and everything." And good.

Damn he hated Lawrence.

He tried to think of something else to talk about, but it had been so long. "Bar doing ok?"

Harrison scowled, but relented (as he did most every time Lawrence asked), setting him on his own two feet.

"I'm faster than you," he threatened, pushing at a rotting log with his foot.

Beyond the log was an awkward hole that opened into what looked like an island, except everything (including the sand) was blue.

"Not that one," Harrison grumbled.

Rodney touched a dry and sad-looking tree attentively.

"Is this it?" He asked, stepping into a worn shack.

The wind howled, and the waves were gray and choppy. He thought, for sure, there was a nearby rustling, and something that sounded like breathing through a set of giant teeth.

Rep gave Melvin a weird look and moved a step away from him for the equally weird compliment. "I don't ******** feel good dealing with this s**t." he said irritably, missing the island already and he'd only been gone for like five minutes. He wasn't sure if the other man had always been so weird and he'd never noticed or if it was some kind of side effect of living with a weirdo.

"Eh." he said. "It's doing awright." and looked away.

Lawrence, put down to stand immediately moved to unroll the mission cloak and put it on, looping the pendant around his neck and giving it a fleeting smirk.

"Deus Ex M-" he said

Lawrence, as promised, found his mouth pretty swiftly covered and the rest of him hauled backwards.

"What was that? What were you trying to say, you piece of s**t? You trying to say that you want gagged, too?"

Harrison was seriously wrestling with whether this was worse than going with his and Rep's ex. As of now, it still wasn't.

Rodney backed out. He didn't feel safe there alone. Beside it was a portal that lead to a cold, wintery piece of rock. Ice coated the shoreline.

"How can we tell it's the right island?" he asked Rep.
PostPosted: Sat May 21, 2016 3:39 pm

Lawrence made a muffled sound of irritation as he was yanked back and then changed this to a muffled sound of placation. It was a good guess that if he could talk he'd be saying he absolutely didn't want gagged and he wouldn't be doing it again at the first chance he got.

Melvin watched him step away and frowned.

"You mean being on a mission like this? Is the caves really that bad?" Considering all the places Rep had traveled and being in the Arctic, saying he didn't feel good with this place made him even more nervous.

Melvin moved to a pair of bowed trees and looked inside a portal only to see it open into a shabby shack. It reminded him of fishing huts back home but one that wasn't often used. There was something that did move through and not wanting to be called a trespasser or get attacked by some wild animal, he stepped back and into the woods again.

"Nothing there."
