 Iah sat next to a neko as he waited for the math class to start, his tail swaying back and forth as he sat in his chair. He had been told earlier by the teacher that they would be shown something new, and the naga couldn't wait to finally get to see what it was ", I was told that today we would get to see something new. I wonder what it could be. Maybe a new formula or vocab word? Oh! It could be a new way to add maybe?" He honestly had no idea what it was, but it excited him to think about it. There was so much new stuff to learn, and he couldn't wait to figure it all out.

 Avo blinked as the teacher asked the class to pass back calculators to everyone. Avo blinked, when ze got zis. "What on this thingie??" he said as he pushed the buttons and numbers appeared. He looked to the naga next to him and listened to the teachers instructions. Avo frowned "Why did I need this weird box for that??" Avo pondered the math problem was hard and could be done on paper. Not to mention this weird number box confused the great and powerful Avo to no end, what was with these symbols how was he suppose to make the thing work. "Any ideas??" Avo said softly to the naga sitting next to him.

What was this thing? It had buttons, numbers, and weird symbols. It also had a screen like everyone's phones, but it wasn't exactly like it. He too was wondering why they needed this device to figure out all of these math problems. They weren't that hard too do! ", I don't know, and I don't need this thing to add or subtract at all. I don't know why anyone would want to use it if they can do it on their own just as easy," it seemed this device was just for those who didn't want to add on their own, which wasn't smart at all! What if you didn't have this device with you and you needed to figure out 3 + 7 ? It was better to learn how to do it on your own and not just rely on a device right?

Avo nodded and said "I don't need this weird thing either, Avo can do this problem and many other problems in Avo's head!!" He said proudly. Avo wondered if they would get in trouble for doing all their work on paper with a pencil. He started doing his work class work. No big deal, he looked over at Iah and grinned. "So do you think we'll get in trouble for doing it the old fashion way??" Avo asked with a grin. Showing Iah his work on his paper. Avo put his paper back down and started doodling pictures of him as a superhero on the edge of his page.

"I don't think so," Iah replied, going about doing the problems on paper instead of the weird device. As the two of them continued to do this, Iah began to realize something ", We are further into the assignment than everyone else. We are on problem seven, everyone else is on problem three. Are we doing it wrong?" He had thought that him and Avo were doing it correctly. After all, this was stuff they had already been taught.

Avo smiled and nodded happy that Iah agreed with zim that he didn't think they would get in trouble. Avo shook his head "Nah, Avo is always right, so since you are hanging out with Avo your always right too." Avo said proudly. Avo looked at the problems, they were pretty simple and easy to work on on the paper with his pencil. Avo really didn't like using the calculator it was confusing and a waste of his time in his thought process. "So what do you like to do??" He asked Iah bored with this assignment. It was really to easy, at least without the calculator slowing him down.

"Let's finish the last problem and turn it in. Then we can play with the puzzles in the play area," Iah explained with a smile. Avo was so funny, but he liked zim because of that. He wanted Avo to be his friend for sure! After all, they both came from the same place! ", I don't like the calculator. It is too confusing." It was nice to have someone else who understood his struggles with this new technology, especially when that technology didn't make any sense to begin with. Why use this device to solve the problem if you already knew how to solve it? That just didn't make sense to him.

Avo smiled and nodded. Avo liked the suggestion that Iah but noticed that Iah didn't answer zis question. Oh well he thought and finished his last few questions quickly so they could go do puzzles. "Me either, they are annoying, I'd much rather watch the big kids perform magic." Avo got up and handed his math assignment in to the teacher, before returning to Iah to wait for him to turn in his assignment. Avo still wanted to do so much today that didn't involve sitting in math class playing with annoying technology. He sighed and put his head down on his desk to wait for Iah.

Iah was slithering right behind Avo, finished assignment in hand. The teacher was amazed at how quickly the two had finished, asking if they understood the calculator well now. Iah of course shook his head no, a small smile forming ", It was too confusing, so Avo and I did the math in our heads! It was really fun. Besides, for simple adding using a calculator doesn't make sense."The teacher gave the two of them a blank expression before shaking it off, telling the two of them that they could go to play, but tomorrow they would be tutoring the two of them on how to use the device since it seemed the two didn't understand it enough to use at this point. With that out of the way now, Iah took a hold of his fellow student's hand ", Come on Avo, let's go play while everyone finishes."

Avo squeed happily when Iah said that he was done with his assignment and they could go play while they waited for everyone else to finish. The teacher gave Avo a look and Avo shrugged hiz apology, he wasn't very repetitive. Ze was really happy and excited to be doing something other than boring math. It crossed Avo's mine that maybe he was more he than ze, but maybe he could figure out who he was junior year. Right now Avo was just Avo and happy to be doing puzzles with someone who could become his friend. Avo grinned as he picked out a puzzle and smiled at Iah. Fade to black??
