In this route, faster-paced for your enjoyment, you'll be fighting the rogue were and its accomplices. Your goals are to catch or destroy any weres in your way while keeping your fellows alive. Read on for rules and mechanics! THIS IS THE LEFT HAND ROUTE

capture track rulesThe fast route is the route tasked with actually physically finding the rogue werecreature! Because of this, they may traverse Blackfriars at will and speak to as many NPCs as they feel are necessary. However, the fast route characters must reach a majority before making any decision, and they may not split up.
Fast route players must post quickly: there will be two to three GM guide posts per day. Generally, these will start around 1500hrs PST, with a little wiggle room because shibe is an employed type of dude, and end around 0000 PST. The first post of every day will move the clock forward half an hour. If you miss a round of GM posts, your character's absence will be glossed over or they will be moved off to the sidelines.
This route requires a lot of moving around, and as such you must use the maps provided in the information thread to determine where you are within the second and third floors of the library. GM posts will say where you currently are in the library at the bottom in big font.
Each character has 20 hit points. You must keep track of your hit points at the bottom of your post! Should you hit 0 hit points, you will be sent to the first floor with a level 6 injury and will not be able to return to the fast route.
If you want to use a power, please quote shibrogane to let him know! Remember that overusing your powers will result in consequences at the GM's discretion, up to and including passing the ******** out.
Post your decisions at the bottom of your post in bold type. Be sure to mention where you want to go at the bottom of every post.
You can switch sides on the fast track ONCE. And only once.

objective: capture the rogue wereYour most important duty is capturing the rogue werecreature that attacked the downstairs gathering! This is a dangerous proposition: you have no idea what abilities the rogue has, why it's attacking, or even if it's aware of what it's doing. You also have no idea where it is, or whether it's alone. Now you've got to go find it before it finds you.
In the first IC post of this thread, I'll roll a 20-sided die. In every GM post to follow, I'll roll another d20, and every time I match my die the rogue werecreature--or one of its accomplices!--will get one free attack on the group. Once per round, you may roll a d20 to attempt to match my number, and if you do you get a free attack on any weres in your vicinity.
Attacks from this route automatically do 5 damage no matter who is attacking whom. The attacked player is determined by RNG, and the RNG list will be determined on the first mod posts tomorrow. It will be updated as necessary.
Each character only gets ONE ACTION per round. If you roll to chase, then you cannot roll to fight any enemies in your area, perform any magic, search the area, or join the slow route downstairs!

objective: stay aliveThere are more enemies than just the one werecreature, of course. Otherwise it'd be too easy! Scattered throughout the upper stories are people who exhibit the same terrifying transformation as the rogue, and who are driven by the same pain and fear. They attack on sight, and it's your job to deal with them so that the first floor doesn't have to.
Attacking weres have 60 HP each; this is because there's way more of you than there are of them and they tend not to attack in groups. They roll 1d10 to attack. Players roll 2d6; your first number is the damage you do to the rogue. If your first number is EVEN, you use your second d6 to determine how much damage the were does to you. Once you get a were down to 10HP or lower, you will have two options: mercy or murder. Any attack on a were below the HP threshold is an automatic kill.
Unless you have a specifically offensive magic power, you cannot use magic on the same turn as you attack.
You can find weres by successfully chasing one down or entering an area where one is lurking! You will be informed if you have entered combat by bright red letters in a mod post.
Should your HP drop to 0, you'll be forced to go downstairs with level 6 injuries, and will not be able to return to the upper stories! So choose your actions wisely.
Each character only gets ONE ACTION per round. If you roll to chase, then you cannot roll to fight any enemies in your area, perform any magic, search the area, or join the slow route downstairs!

victory conditionsTo successfully end this piece of the metaplot, you must complete these following objectives:
CATCH OR KILL THE ROGUE WERE. Should the were and his accomplices successfully KO all players or should the time reach 0430 on Thursday May 19 (ICly), you automatically fail and move the game closer to the BAD END.
STAY ALIVE. Should more than five players be knocked down to zero health, the game is closer to the BAD END.
Unlocking the BAD END requires three or more of the four total objectives (including the objectives on the SURVIVE track) are failed. Unlocking the NEUTRAL END requires two or fewer objectives to fail. The GOOD END happens only if all four objectives are successfully completed.
If one side of the capture track fails, BOTH SIDES FAIL.

Someone pushes open the door to the left-side bathroom. Nothing happens. There's a large pool of water spreading from a shattered sink. There's blood smeared on the porcelain, shattered mirrors, and places where the aluminum stall separators have been shredded to pieces by claws. A were was here... The question is where has it gone next? THE NUMBER IS 15 THE TIME IS 1730 YOU HAVE DISCOVERED A TRASHED BATHROOM SEARCH IT TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF FINDING THE ROGUE OR MOVE ON AND LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE

Jeremiah pushes the door open, resolutely first because ... He would know. "It was here," he calls out back behind him after surveying, "but it isn't now." His attention flicked back towards Algie and he gestured towards the ruined bathroom as he looked around in it. There was damage, the thing had been in here, but it was not now ... Not that he could tell yet. HP: 20

A message from the first floor:"Can anyone up there hear me? This is Leila Townhome. There's three weres heading your way who are there to help you. Do NOT attack them. If you want to work with them they should be smart enough to answer to Wolf, Fisher or Bunny. They are NOT berserk like the other one we saw. Again, DON'T HURT THEM." YOUR NEXT GM POST WILL COME AT 2000 PST

"Wonderful," Thorne said, following Jeremiah in. Because why the ******** wouldn't he follow a surly detective that was 100% done with the world?
He would prefer following Lucas but a wrench had been thrown in that plan real fast.
"Any sign of where it might have wandered off to?" His smile was crooked. "Should we try and play fetch?"

The gaggle of people talked the blonde boy down, and for a moment Lily relaxed, her tail drooping back to its resting state. She glanced over to Falco and her ears flattened, hiding her hands from sight. This isn't what she'd meant when she texted him that she'd see him on the flip side. "Hey," her voice wavered, biting her bottom lip. She glanced down at the cat, and then back up at the boy, raising an eyebrow. "I don't know if being a cat owner puts us on the same level of weird, Guitar Hero--" Someone opened the door to the bathroom and Lily's head swiveled, smelling the blood. At the detective's prompting, she frowned but nodded, looking further down the library hall. "If he's not here, then we should keep moving," she responded, her eyes distant. -- HP: 20

"Wow.... holy s**t..." Falco's eyes widened at the destruction, and he unconsciously held the cat a little tighter, before it occurred to him that maybe putting her down and letting her do her thing might be... safer. She was smaller and presumably faster than he was. "...Yeah that's just it... I... don't... didn't... have a cat. I'll... explain later." He offered to Lily. "Are there like... vents or something? I mean it didn't rip the door to the bathroom down just the doors in here..." He edged forward with a shrug, trying to look nonchalant. HP 20

Chris followed in, keeping and eye on Jamie and Shiloh. The pair was practically attached to each other, which made it easy to watch.
"Huh," Chris thought, tapping his chin. "Should we search it more? It might tell us where it went. Give us an idea at least."

Jeremiah looked back towards Thorne and Lily a moment and then towards Falco. "One moment," he was pulling the radio off of his side that he had picked up from another officer. " Townhome, it's Mercer. I've got Fisher and Bunny in a group with me. Wolf is with Autumn. They're alright and safe, not being attacked by anyone that came upstairs with us." Then he was looking to the others. "Check the vents and then we can head out." Since that was what they wanted.

Moon walkers? Like Michael Jackson?Slowly entering, America smelled the blood before she saw it, no special nose needed and jesus wept. "Guess it didn't like what it saw," America commented softly, grimly hoping the blood belonged to them. Nearing Lily, she asked, "Are you um...is the word moonwalkers?"

Alg followed the group, eyes widening a bit at the destruction of the room. He didn't really know all of the people accompanying them but for the moment cooler heads were thankfully prevailing. He wasn't sure he could have dealt with more people screaming. "Well I didn't immediately see blood outside the door either-" Perhaps it could point them in a direction. And of course they wouldn't know who's blood it was.. It may not even be the were's. Alg moves to investigate the blood smears.
