Hi Readers,
Cupcake Susan here and I'm back with the latest instalment chronicling my search to find the very best dessert shops that Destiny City has to offer.
This time round my travels took me over to the mall and whilst I was primarily there to window shop, the small little café tucked away in the corner was just too cute to walk on by from...
Which meant that there was only one thing for it.. Aka it was time for an investigation - Cupcake Susan style.
Hence my blog this week is on a little sweets café known as The Sugar Cube.
The Sugar Cube
As mentioned earlier The Sugar Cube can be found down at the mall. It's over on the eastern side but is a little tucked away since it's away in a corner.
It has a cute shop front however and is the only one amongst the shops on that particular side of the mall selling treats and they can be clearly seen from the outside of the shop.
Menu
There was a really nice selection of treats on offer - cupcakes, slice cake, brownies, pastries... But best of all they also had biskies. Now for those of you that have been following my dessert adventures then you probably have heard about me mention the wonderfulness that is a biskie, but if you have just peeked in then I cannot recommend these creations strongly enough.
Biskies for the uninitiated are a delicious mix of biscuit, cookie and cake and prior to coming across The Sugar Cube, I thought I was going to have to wait until I was back in the UK to get my next fix.
Anyway back to the treats...
I went for one of the brownies as well as for a couple of biskies and whilst the biskies were not quite the same as the ones back home in London, it didn't make them any less delicious and the brownie was rich and chocolatey.
The friendly shop server on duty came across as very knowledgeable about the menu and gave some nice recommendations.
In fact the only real let down was the drinks.
Due to circumstances outside the shop's control there was no coffee related drinks and whilst the tea that I ordered as a substitute was beautifully presented, it was also cold, however the shop server did offer to substitute with water and/ or a glass of milk.
Interior
The inside was just as cute as the outside, with everything nicely laid out in glass counters.
The goods on offer were also listed in the café menu and I was easily able to get a seat as it was quiet when I dropped by.
Pricing
Overall I found the pricing quite reasonable.

A bit of a tough one this time due to the let down with the tea and so I have gone with a split rating this time round

Final note:
Definitely a gem for those looking for a cake fix when dropping by the mall, although I'm reserving final judgement on the drinks until after I've had a chance to try their coffee.
And that's it from me for today, but expect to find me back again soon with another delicious place to try.
