If he were totally honest, he’d admit more than a little embarrassment at not having realized that ‘Sunny’s Father’ – taught at the local college. So much for his theory that he was good at Research he thought, never mind that that thought was perhaps more than a little unfair because he hadn’t specifically looked for the man till just then. Still, the judgment once passed, lingered and added to some of his unease about waiting to speak to the man again. He’d been…friendly enough, that was good. Unsettling, that voice after all. He wondered if it recorded the same way or if it sounded normal on tape. Some students recorded their teacher’s lectures after all. But he wasn’t here about the man’s voice, at least not as his primary purpose. He had questions that were for…more than himself, questions on behalf of Sunny and he had honestly, no idea how they would go, or how mad he MIGHT make the other man. Worse…if he might make the man think he was … utterly out of his gourd. The chain of doubts spun round and around till he was left pacing nervously, tapping his hand against his book bag as he tried to research good ways to re-introduce himself and explain why he was there.

At a quarter after, Liam Noor rounded the corner, a laptop and a textbook tucked under his arm. He stopped suddenly - so suddenly that it wasn't clear whether he was reacting to Zac's presence, or some preternatural sense that he ought to come to a pause. "O̴͎h͕̣̗̰," he said, looking Zac over. "I̤̹̤̩̝̰̫t͉̰̪͉̰͞'̼̲̙͍̰͍s͚̯͘ ̡ỵ̣̖͓̫͖o͡u̱̮̞̲̻̝̜." He sounded the exact opposite of surprised, as if there had never been any question in his mind that it would be Zac waiting for him around this corner. "F̝̙̰͇a͎͚͙̳̖̗̠n̤̗̗cy͓̳ ̲̝͔͔͖̜̦m̳̼̫͖e̬͖e̥t̙͓̖͉̥̹̖ing̖̝ ͎͈̭͓͙y͈o̞̙̪u̙̰̬ ͇he̘̦̦͔r̯̥̫̯̝̣e̬̣̲̪̼," said Liam.

Zac blinked, watching he strange sort of ‘knowing’ with a growing analytical interest. He was getting less and less surprised by the idea that people in town WOULD have strange powers, no surprise that Mr. Noor had them with that voice after all. But it was always surprising to see, or think about what they might –be. “Y-yes, I hope I’m not bothering.” He said ducking his head. Polite came first, it –had- to come first, he was a teacher, among other things. “I um, was wondering if you had a little bit of time you might, um… talk to me, I mean, mostly for a…” He hesitated, pondering how true the word was, in a way it was… awkward, because it was HER, and did he really trust her not to be dangerous? No… but at the same time, it was true. Very odd how minds worked. “Friend, for a friend.” He repeated it, as though that act cemented the reality of it fro him.

He made no sign of stopping, and instead suggested, "w͖̩̭̻̮͎̰͟a̤̝̳̼̲̙̫l͖k̮̘̥ w̧̪ḭt̟̱̟̳͎h̤̮̬͎͇͇̻͝ m̻̖e͢." He hurried slightly to keep up, ruing his height but knowing well enough what it took to keep up some times. The, slight narrowing of the eyes gave him some trepidation but he took a breath and pressed ahead. “She um…” Good lord, how to even phrase this. “She um, She seems concerned, and I didn’t realize it from, what you said before but. She um, said you said you were, her father. But she said she didn’t know you. I, I said I’d…ask.” He said hesitantly. To the point COULD be better, or it could be the stupidest thing he ever said. He thought he'd find out rather in short order.

Liam sighed very softly under his breath. It sounded like "A͑̆̋s̈ͬ̋ͯćͤͥè̌͐n̉ͭsͮ͆͊ͯ͂̎ͣiͬ̍̚ȍnͬ̽ͩ͑ͮͨ." He inclined his head slightly towards Zac. "I͍̻̠͍ d͉̲̙̼̘i̥̮̹̪͓d̥̩̟͓͈͖͈ ̼͔̙n̦̪̰̬̺ͅo͕̱͚̳̭̫ͅt͓̥̹ ͙̤h͔̩͎͍̜̘͎e͇͍̟̮̠a͔͓r̰͉̘̞͎̹ ͕a̼̺͎ qu̜̫͉̹e̙͎̲̼s̻̪̪̗̫̯ͅt̘̝͇̗̟̦i͇̠o̝̳͓͓̜n̞̘͈̤͎ͅ," he said.

“Ah…yes…sorry. I mean, are you? I mean, I’m in a situation myself where I have a father, a guardian… its…complicated.” He stammered. “So, I thought, I wouldn’t know MY father if he came back. But…” He rolled his shoulders slightly. “…I’d be kind of weird-ed out too, especially, in um, this town.” He ducked his head. “I know It’s… rude it’s just she does a lot for people So, Seeing what I can do for her…” he exhaled “… I wish she had a better friend to do this.” He muttered under his breath. He was just so…bad.

“Because people –do- lie, they lie about stupid things either with intent or omission.” Zac said scowling at the ground. “Normally cause they want something, but… I just.” He exhaled, a soft sound. “I just want her family not to be… I just want someone to have it better; for things not to be patchwork, I don’t know. I thought maybe if I asked I could find… a chain of questions where I might be able to help.” He looked up as Liam stopped at the bottom of the stairs, and asked the more direct question. “… I did want to ask that of you, I wanted to find out for her. I mean… I have questions other people want asked too but. Heck… I’d ask if her Mother was still around if I thought she might show up. But… Jerimiah wants me to ask about the artist, or look into the artist. If anyone might tell me it’s you or the Internet. You’re at least more… real. And I guess…” He glanced away, staring into nothing, unfocused for a moment. “I guess I’d just ask about you. What happened with your voice, are you like Sunny, is –anyone- like Sunny… where do you stand in all this craziness…” He shrugged. “Everyone wants, everyone questions, the trick is getting me to stop once I started asking. I don’t feel like I’ll ever get the answer I –actually- want, which would be how do I do things Right, cause there isn’t going to be an easy answer.” He ducked his head. “Sorry… more of a, tangent than I meant that to be.” “I’d ask if you had any questions but, I’m getting used to the idea that most people know more about me than I do. I'm not even sure you were surprised to see me.”

Liam regarded Zac for a long moment, more trying to pick apart his rambling outburst than anything. Then, he said softly, " Sh̼̣̟̰̲͈͝e̡̤ ḓ̹͎̹̭͓̖o͕͕es̴̭n̢̘̯'҉̰̞̙͖t̹͕̯̣͠ͅ h̬̖a̯̟͎̣͕̤͇v͇͚̞e a̘̪̮̯͕ m̴͔o̴̙͔͇ṭh̯͇͞ͅe҉r̵͚͇͓̙." What a silly thing to presume. "What's wrong with my voice?" he asked, suddenly in a singular tone. His expression had turned icy. Of all the things to ask, that was clearly a mistake.

Zac frowned at that… “I didn’t say –wrong, it’s just… well it’s not like any other voice I’ve ever heard. I’m guessing I’m maybe not the first to ask though.” He winced slightly. Did normal people not hear it this way? Sorry… maybe it’s just me.” “I’m sorry… I just… it’s interesting, I thought maybe it meant… like you might know about… Never mind…sorry.” He folded his arms around himself, embarrassed and ashamed. “It’s probably something wrong with me.” He pivoted to make a hasty and embarrassed retreat.
