WELCOME TO THE TOURNAMENT!
The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite and General Xenotime, both of whom are standing off to the sides to monitor.
The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.
OOC RULES:
- You have 72 hours to complete the battle! If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact either Beejoux or kuropeco privately through AIM or PM!
THE MECHANICS
Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

Keyite was not really sure he should be participating in a tournament...but Aurostibite said it would be good practice, even if he only lasted a little while...so here he was. Standing in the middle of a ring, waiting for his opponent and kind of...wondering...what the hell he'd gotten himself into. 20 HP

The small lieutenant wasn't exactly sure why she had chosen to participate. After the recent meeting, she supposed that it would be beneficial for her to attempt to participate. Or at least make a good show of it. "Lt. Serpierite at your service." She graciously bowed in front of her opponent, strongly believing in etiquette, even amidst their future battle. Stepping out onto the grounds, she lifted her gaze towards her opponent. Tilting her head, "May I ask a favor? I understand that we're not trying to kill each other, but could you refrain for aiming for the face?" Pointing light towards her cheek, "I'm afraid too much questions would arise if it were too obvious~" It was a very superfluous request, but surely, he would understand considering they both had civilian personas to keep up.

6-2 = 4 DamageSerpierite HP: 20/20 With a quick glance, she assessed her opponent. She was mildly thankful that he didn't appear to be one of the more muscular men of the negaverse, who could easily injure her by the weight of their body alone. However, she wasn't foolish enough to mislead herself into thinking he was weaker. It merely allowed her to divert her attention from his physique into contemplation of his other skills. Though they might both be lieutenants, the strength vastly differed among their common ranks based on experience and skill. Her wooden weapon materialized, "Hope you don't mind~" She took advantage of their delay to leap from her position, aiming the sword at his abdomen to strike the first hit.

Observation was a key element in training, or so the dainty corrupt had come to accept as truth. She gained much from watching others. Not just what their own skills may be, but how people tended to react to the various attacks thrown in their direction. Who was bold, who was not. Who was trained, and who carried looks that could be deceiving.
There was only one combatant she absolutely had to follow through his matches, so the rest of the fights she sat in on would be random selections. There just weren't that many soldiers she was yet familiar with, something that would change in time, but until then...
These two were faces she had not even seen in passing, though one, the man, seemed oddly familiar. The dancer just couldn't place a finger on why.

Damage: 1HP: 16 / 20 Well, someone has manners…I’ll be. Manners maketh man, so Keyite responded in kind, “Lieutenant Keyite. Pleasure, miss.” Her request was reasonable enough, so he assented, “I will do my best to accommodate your request.” Accidents did happen, but for his part, the curly haired blond would not aim consciously for her face. The battle was joined, with Serpierite summoning a wooden sword (and wasn’t that a useful weapon!) and him just not; a small key would do very little, so he deemed it quite useless and decided to stick with fisticuffs. She came at him gracefully, the blunt blade swinging out only to be blocked - painfully - by his forearms. Blunt or not, it hurt like a beast and he wondered but that the long bones didn’t break even as he pushed forward to swing a fist at her torso, coming slightly from the side and angling up towards ribs. If he hadn’t been holding back from the stinging pain caused by blocking her weapon, he might have actually done some damage. As it were, his attack was weak as water. He could not spare a glance at any watching, that would be ludicrous and possibly fatal, but he was aware of being watched.

Damage: 1 HP: 19/20 His ready acquiescence to her request caused surprise to flicker in her eyes, but it was a type of welcome surprise. Not everybody in the negaverse were devoid of manners.. though she had been aware of that truth, it was hard to see that in her past experience where she only saw her cohorts in the heat of battle. And her particular combatant was not only a gentleman, but versed in etiquette from his language as well. She was certainly blessed, wasn't she? When her strike landed satisfyingly against his forearms, her mouth curved into a slight smile. A swift counter-attack was launched, as she had expected. She took notice that he resorted to physical combat rather than his weapon. Only two options existed: his weapon was not useful, or his weapon would be his trump card. The latter was unlikely, knowing how useless their lieutenant weapons were. But it wasn't a possibility she could callously dismiss out of hand either. The intended punch grazed her, but the damage was at least slight. He was staggering from their last hit. She should be thankful for that at least.. since physical combat was in all likelihood, her biggest weakness. To her dismay, another strike of her sword barely reached him. "Ah, what a disappointment~" She murmured to herself, but it was audible to Keyite who was in close proximity.

HP: 15 / 20 DMG: 0 This time, when the young woman swung, he was ready, sliding lithely to the side so that only the tip grazed him, cutting at the fabric of his uniform. He made an attempt to grab her weapon, but missed due to the really outlandish appearance of one of the spectators - a creature the likes he'd not seen. Keyite retreated with a frown. If I had a bow, this would be over already...and what even IS that thing?

Captain Wolfeite (Spectating)
The interest Wolfeite held in the tournament was not a desire to participate, but to observe. He prowled around the edge of the ring, watching as people flung themselves at one another, golden eyes following the way they moved, the way they fought. He felt a hunger for violence deepset within his veins, but reigned it in for now, tail flicking behind him.
Wolfeite's feet slowed to a stop in front of one particular fight, gaze narrowing as he watched Serpierite swing her sword at an unfamiliar lieutenant, his head cocked to the side. The kerchief was pulled up over his face once more, expression only half visible, ears flicked forward.

Damage: 2 HP: 19/20 Her eyes diverted from her form, and caused his hand to miss her blunt weapon entirely. Pulling it out of his reach, she took advantage of his distraction, to come up with an upwards swing towards his chest. Not much damage, but it was damage nevertheless. Only after did it make the barest of connections did she allow her teal eyes to follow his distraction... only to land her gaze upon Captain Wolfiete. Ahh, that would make sense, wouldn't it? If this was the first time that Serpierite laid eyes upon him, she too would be distracted. But thankfully, she already had the fortune of making his acquaintance earlier on. She had no idea why he was here. But she supposed that it only made things all the more exciting. Jumping back to attempt a safe distance away from Lt. Keyite, "Guess I can't slack off with you watching, huh?" She called out to the captain. His predatory gaze, whether intentional or merely caused by his wolfish form, certainly didn't give one much room to relax. But in its own way, it added a dose of badly needed tension to the battle atmosphere.

HP: 13 / 20 DMG: 4 Sloppy, sloppy...pull it together. He may not have been the best lieutenant present at the tournament - and certainly he was one of the newer ones - but he was performing badly. Very badly. "Eyes forward, Miss." Or not; because either way, he wasn't going to be there. No, he was going to feint to one side so that he could get a fairly solid body blow in on the girl; for a moment he thought to go for the most delicate parts (nose, eyes) but she had kindly asked...and he was a gentleman. So it was her ribs he targeted instead.

Damage: 6 HP: 15/20 Her eyes didn't follow his feint quickly enough, sending a slamming hit towards her ribs. Her eyes narrowed in pain.. but a cursory mental check of her body revealed nothing was broken. But that would certainly bruise.Temporarily discarding her blunt weapon, she threw it up in the air -- and used the time it took for her to catch it in her other hand to land a roundhouse kick against his ribs.

Corrupted Ceraskia - (Spectating)There wasn't much that would draw the delicate senshi's attention away from the match, but the presence of the half youma captain so sort of demanding. The flick of a tail caught her eyes, and her head turned curiously, eyes widening just a touch as she took in the tattered uniform and the wolfish ears standing at attention. Feral. Or perhaps not as much as he seemed. If he were prone to violence towards his fellow officers, surely they wouldn't have allowed him to wander on his own. All the same she watched him for a moment or two before turning back to the match. Just in time to watch the blonde deliver an impressive hit to the smaller lieutenant, and then for her to turn around and counter with a vicious round house. It looked painful, and the petite dancer couldn't help the involuntary hiss of breath drawn between her teeth as she watched them.

HP: 7 / 20 DMG: 2When Serpierite threw her blade, he stupidly followed it with his head. Keyite knew he probably shouldn't have, but as an archer, he was used to tracking moving objects. Unfortunately, that meant that when the graceful young woman sent a roundhouse kick his way, he was taking it full on. Air rushed out of his lungs from the force of the blow even as he felt two of his ribs crack under the pressure; pain blooming like red fire with gasoline thrown on it. Keyite gasped and lashed out, striking higher on her body in a manner that suggested much pain and next to no focus. It hurt. So much. Getting my a** kicked here, she's strong. That wooden sword of hers....

Damage: 1 HP: 15/20 She certainly hadn't intended to hit him that hard, feeling several bones crack under the pressure. From her shocked expression.. and the delicacy in her next hit she placed elsewhere of his ribs. She wanted to stop the battle, and administer medical treatment right away -- but if she did so, she was painfully aware that it would put this entire battle to waste. The only option to respect an opponent was to continue until the end. Syrie omigosh, she is so sorry >///< SHE DIDNT MEAN TO HURT U KEYITE
