The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite and General Xenotime, both of whom are standing off to the sides to monitor.
The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.
OOC RULES:
- You have 72 hours to complete the battle! If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact either Beejoux or kuropeco privately through AIM or PM!
THE MECHANICS
Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

Reinerite had signed up for the tournament in part because her General was one of the ones running it and in part because it seemed like a nice way to build on her personal goal to make a name for herself.
Because she had no intention of remaining a Lieutenant forever...
And okay, Reinerite knew that she had to get better at fighting and jumping head first into the tournament had seemed like a good way to go about it - well at least back when she was signing up.
But the days had seemed to pass quickly and the closer that it got to the tournament, was the more nervous that she felt.
It was kind of late to back out even if she had been the type to back out.
Besides she in this to win.
As it turned out her opponent for the match happened to be one that she recognised from back during her previous and first trip to Negaspace.
Grey eyes looked up at him cooly as she debated and then decided against bringing out her weapon - at least for now.

He knew this woman. Another one of General Aurostibite’s recruits, and a woman who had already proven to have a good head on her shoulders in stressful situations.
She would be a tough opponent, he already knew.
His weapon was all but pointless, so he lifted his hands in a defensive stance. He said nothing but watched her movements, trying to determine what she would do. He had no idea what her fighting style was, but he knew (or hoped) that if Aurostibite had seen potential in her, he would need to be careful.

It had seemed pointless to waste time chattering and so Reinerite had settled for giving Bloodstone a polite nod before dashing forward as her hand swung out at the taller Lieutenant.
And perhaps it would have been better for her to stand and observe for a little longer...
Just as he's expected, she was already proving herself to be a strong opponent. She did not hesitate in her attack, and he was almost surprised by her speed. He knew better than to underestimate her, and if they were not able to find a way to shake their seemingly equal footing, they might just end up having to tire each other out.
He wasn't able to dodge her hit completely, recoiling back as she hit him, but he was also quick to respond with a right hook of his own.
If this was going to develop into an old fashioned fist fight, he was okay with that.

Reinerite felt her hand connect, although she wasn't given any time to rest on her laurels as moving in meant that she had effectively put herself within striking distance which was something that Bloodstone had taken advantage off in the form of a return punch.
She turned - close enough that it wasn't going to miss and preferring that it didn't hit straight on.
It didn't stop the slight hiss of pain from escaping her lips at what was essentially a pretty solid hit, although she did her best to follow up to her current closeness by once again swinging out at the taller Lieutenant.
She was quick on her feet, which was definitely a sign of a good fighter. She would be a good ally to have in their fight against the senshi and knights.
Bloodstone did what he could to block her attack by lifting his forearm, but the blow still cost him and he recoiled from the hit. Countering was easy enough at this distance, and he followed through with a jab in her direction, trying to do what he could to push her back.
Aurostibite was watching, he was sure. He hoped they wouldn't disappoint him, despite one of them winning and one losing.

The problem with fighting at such close quarters, as Reinerite was quickly learning, was that it made avoidance pretty much impossible.
Truth be told however she was not a natural fighter.
Although it wasn't stopping her from throwing herself into the fight.
She did step backwards however, as Bloodstone jabbed at her, although she wasn't successful in managing to completely avoid it and then tried to send a kick back in his direction.
Tried being the operative word.
And whilst she was aware that Aurostibite was probably watching the fight - given that her General was one of the organisers - she was doing her best to keep her attention on Bloodstone.
Because she really couldn't afford to lose focus - at least not if she wanted to win.
The brackets had all been determined through randomizing the entrants until each had been paired off accordingly; and it had been with some amusement that Aurostibite had found two of his own recruits pitted against one another. It was rather pleasing to see that the both of them had signed up, and he was most interested in observing how the battle would pan out. Each, of course, had their own methods of fighting, after all, and Aurostibite had not seen them in action enough to gauge what still needed to be learned and what came as a natural instinct to each in turn.
He stood outside the ring with his gloved hands tucked against the small of his back, dressed in the white dress shirt that he wore beneath his coat, the sleeves of which rolled up to his elbows. Dark hair was pulled back into a ponytail at the base of his neck, and his hat was off, placed wherever his coat was.
There was glint of approval in Aurostibite's eyes as he stood there, watching Bloodstone and Reinerite. Approval and satisfaction that he had made the right decision in choosing to recruit these two.
Now it was just a matter of seeing who would come out on top.

Bloodstone: 10/20 Damage: 0
Bloodstone tried following through is less than successful jab with another quick punch, but Reinerite had already managed to step back far enough to avoid it. She might not be a skilled fighter, or know how to fight very well, but she was quick on her feet, especially when compared to himself. Not to say he was slow by any means, but she definitely had an advantage when it came to speed.
After missing his hit on her, he stepped back as well, preparing for the next round. He knew Aurostibite was there watching, of course.
He knew this was going to be a challenge, but as long as he remained focused on the objective, he could at least learn enough of her fighting style to help them on future missions.

The kick hadn't really done much, however Reinerite had been planning to follow it up by once again trying to swing out at Bloodstone.
However the taller Lieutenant was already following up on his earlier jab with another punch of his own, leaving Reinerite with the choice with either taking the hit in the hopes that her planned hit would hit harder or trying to avoid the hit and trying to conserve her strength for a later strike...
Well make that an attempt at a strike.
She went for the latter, managing to step back far enough to avoid the other's punch, before moving in quickly in an attempt to follow up with a strike - however Bloodstone had stepped back enough that her hand barely grazed the other.
He couldn’t get over how fast she was. Typically, in the ring, he could hold his own even if he wasn’t the best fighter. He knew how to hit, he knew how to kick, but the increased strength of being an officer of the Negaverse didn’t seem to be enough to counter against Reinerite’s attacks.
She would definitely be good up against a senshi, and maybe even on her own.
Her next hit grazed his shoulder, and he moved to try and punch her again, but she was still out of his reach. The tides were turning in her favor, he knew. Unless he did something quick, she would easily win this fight.
Bloodstone lifted his arms to try and block the kick that Reinerite, but it was strong enough to knock him back, and he nearly staggered under her strength.
He moved to get back into a position to try for another attack, but she was moving quickly and still managing to get the better of him.
Not good. Not good at all. He needed to get back into a rhythm if he was going to last any longer in this fight.
He tried taking another hit at her, but she was once again too fast. Was it nerves? Certainly not. It was his lack of experience. They were both lieutenants, but it was obviously how easily some took to the power than others. He needed more practice.

The kick was enough to knock Bloodstone back, although perhaps it had been a little too ambitious because as Reinerite moved backwards in order to avoid his strike she ended up stumbling.
Or perhaps she had just moved a little too quickly.
Whichever it was it didn't stop the end result from being the same and whilst she tried her best to try and recover she was still wide open.
