WELCOME TO THE TOURNAMENT!
The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite and General Xenotime, both of whom are standing off to the sides to monitor.
The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.
OOC RULES:
- You have 72 hours to complete the battle! If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact either Beejoux or kuropeco privately through AIM or PM!
THE MECHANICS
Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

And now it was time to prove herself, not just to her mistress, but to the Negaverse and Metallia as well. Not just as a valuable member of a successful team, but as an individual. She knew, of course, that it would not be an easy task, and that the odds were not stacked in her favor. As a senshi, she was already at a bit of disadvantage in the eyes of most of her peers. Sinners at birth, as it were. Standing primly at one side of the ring, Ceraskia waited patiently for her opponent, dark eyes making the occasional upward flick towards the stands set up around them. Quick, fleeting glances, in the hopes of spotting certain familiar faces. If you're watching, I cannot disappoint. Banish the thought of failure. It was simply unacceptable.

Despite the novice quality he still bore, Chalcopyrite had signed up for the tournaments. There was no question he was at least fit to some extent, spending enough hours in the gym when he was able to however fighting was an entirely another issue he had yet to confront. So there he was, knowing that there was a rather high risk of making a fool of himself in front of the rest, including General Cinnabar, he was going to do what he could to at least prove to be of more worth then his medical skills. Not bothering to look up at the stands he made his way into the ring to face his opponent he took a position opposite from her. A corrupted senshi, interesting to say the least, if anything he would obtain some sort of knowledge at the end of the battle.

Movement across the ring captured and held the dancers focus. Her opponent; a tall slender fellow, thought he fit of his uniform suggested there was a hint of muscle hiding beneath all the black material. Better to assume he was fit, that he knew what he was doing. Better to over estimate his ability, and adjust her own tactics accordingly. For instance, moving quickly to gain the upper hands. The corrupt had speed and agility on her side, and she'd prove it in a quick forward dart across the ring to close what distance lay between them. The blow to his gut wasn't a particularly solid one, but she was hoping it would startle him enough to allow her to dodge any counter attack he might plan on making. Strike, observe, react.HP: 20 DMG: 3

She was shorter, smaller frame than his own but with ease she had crossed the arena at a speed he did not expect, or at least at a pace he had not expected by any normal human. He didn’t underestimate her, but in full honesty Chalcopyrite was unsure what to expect from his opponent at all or anything in the entire tournament and that he needed to continue to abandoned normality. It was part of the problem of being a novice, that there was too much that one needed to learn and how great of a disadvantage one was at when facing other opponents. Her hit’s where shallow, enough to cause some discomfort but with less force than Chalcopyrite had expected when she had approached swiftly. Bracing his feet he swung his curled fist towards her, completely unsure of where he was aiming and when he made no contact with her at all he hissed lowly under his breath at himself. SPECTATOR
...wouldn't miss it for all the world...
Hearing about Xenotime and Aurostibite's planned tête–à–tête tourney in the ranks was a point of academic, rather than eager, interest. Would it foster good will and camaraderie between officers? It could as easily erode further into the tentative cohesion of the individuals and fire teams as a whole army- the infusion of chaos was not kind to most starseeds when it came to healthy and respectful rivalry. Let alone to some of the emotionally damaged and amnesiac officers who counted every scrap of power and attention as a zero sum game.
Which is a fallacy not because it isn't, but because they mistake that anything given to another officer by the command is wholly denied them. It is zero sum with all belonging to Metallia. Not some fool officer. Still, the Green General arrived fashionably late, just as the bird took flight to land a first blow and partake. Barbary held a lace-wrapped, lavender rose in it's mouth for after the bout. Schörl did not call out a cheer, or rap her cane in applause of the first of the action, not wanting to draw the eyes or thoughts of the corrupted away from her opponent.
A fine trade, pigeon. Keep it up.

Either her plan had succeeded, or the lieutenant was still very new to the workings of active combat. A stationary target was easy to hit. Anyone could throw a decent right hook when they needn't bother with suspected trajectories or the difficult task of adjusting a blow already in motion. Ceraskia tried not to count on the latter being the case here. Continue moving, continue presenting as difficult a target as she possibly could. His arm slipped through the air past the side of her head, and she'd take advantage of the opening, driving a dainty fist into the middle of his side. No bones there, no protection. HP:20 DMG: 5

She was still quick, her next hit causing a sharp gasp of discontent at the pain that reverberated through the rest of his body. It was a smart move, hitting the soft exposed area below his ribs and even though Chalcopyrite gritted his teeth at the even more apparent lack of skills he had there was some admiration at her abilities. Taking a chance he brought his elbow down swiftly towards her open shoulder, not wanting to allow her time to return to any defensive stance. It was almost clumsy in manner but this time it made contact at least, embarrassing still to the taller man. HP: 12 DMG: 2

Do not linger so close.. The thought came only a fraction of a second before the downward drop of the man's elbow, and Ceraskia didn't have the time to duck away completely. What could have been was ended in only slightly more than a grazing strike. Hard enough to sending an aching wave, but she didn't think it'd bruise, least not badly. Her palms found his chest after, shoving him back from her to gain a few more inches of distance. Close enough to gauge his movements, but not enough to be so easily caught up in long, swinging limbs. His reach was likely double her own. Hands were not the only thing at the Senshi's disposal, though. A slender, but muscled leg came around in a sudden, swift kick to the side of his knee. Ground him, incapacitate, and end it quickly. That was her goal. HP: 18 DMG: 4

She had enough sense to move, which so far was more capable than his own floundering mistakes he currently was making in the battle. Chalcopyrite hissed under his breath again, this was more or less not one of his impressive ideas and would leave a rather bitter impression not only with the rest of the onlookers but his own general as well. He took a few stumbling steps back as she shoved him way from her, unexpected but so was the nimble kick to his knee. It buckled under him dropping him abruptly to the ground as pain shot up, throbbing from impact. This was bad.. it was going to leave a mark or at least a day of having to ice it, this was far worse than he had intended to accomplish. Scrambling to his feet as he pitched awkwardly forward he balled his fist again hitting low in her midsection. HP: 8 DMG: 2

Quartz hadn't joined the tournament in the first place for any reason having to do with a desire to win. He'd joined it to study his fellow agents in battle -- to make note of their strengths and weaknesses, add some notes to their files. Up close, he'd have the chance to test out one or two of his rank-mates skills, see how they handled what he might throw at them . . . but it was of interest, too, to observe the higher and lower ranks at their combat.
Of particular interest was Ceraskia, who'd also chosen to enter the lists. She was, after all, a fellow pupil of Schörl's -- and that meant that every action she took reflected on her General, their General. If she underperformed, or if Quartz did, they might both answer for it in some way or another.
Quartz sat in the audience, elbows propped on his knees, resting his chin on his folded hands while he studied the combatants. Ceraskia was doing well, so far, but he'd seen where her self-important attitude could get her before . . . would she carry the fight off flawlessly, or would she get over-confident and make an error?

She got him on the ground, thought the quick punch to the guy had been an unexpected retaliation. He was dangerous, even now, perhaps more so. His mobility was compromised, which was her aim, but that would mean more erratic attempts at defense. Drawing in a hissed breath, the corrupt retreated a step, bidding her time, as well as catching her breath. Expecting that helped a little. She watched flailing limbs, closing in again only an opportune moment. He'd try to right himself again, it was instinct, and that was the moment she'd strike. Another kick, this time higher up on his torso. Solid, but careful, because a tournament was reason to risk her legs or her feet. HP: 16 DMG: 3

This was a mistake… He had to admit it to himself as Chalcopyrite cursed under his breath at the inevitable end of the battle. There was little doubt he would lose, it was apparent to him that the corrupted senshi’s abilities, regardless of her size, were greater than his. To him it didn’t matter that he was a complete novice, fledgling, barely even a member no more than a week, the fact of the matter was he lacked the knowledge to fight. That irritated him. A hasty kick to his side brought him back down on his knee, it was going to be an ugly bruise in the end a mark of his shame like a reminder. Looking at her he got to his feet, slower as if trying to keep himself steady, swinging but missing her entirely. HP: 5 DMG: 0

He just kept getting up. Stubborn. A wild swing had her jerking back from him, pushing at his arm to send it harmlessly away from her, and she hoped it'd throw his balance again, make it easy to keep him more or less "controlled". For the moment she had the advantage, and the dancer was eager to hold onto it, but she could fall into complacency, either. It would be all too easy to let her ego get the better of her, and though nearly down, the lieutenant was not quite out. Nothing was as yet set in stone. Ending it quickly was the safest bet. Ceraskia moved, stepping into shared space with the intent to drive the heel of her hand up into the underside the lieutenants head, but he moved, unsteady still on his feet, and her hand touched only hair. If Chalcopyrite was going to lose he wasn’t going to lose to easily to the nimble dancer, the embarrassment of showing his novice skills in fighting were wretched enough, but laying down and giving up completely was a cowardly way out. No instead he would at least, even if struggling, go down fighting in the end. Leaving without at least returning a few bruises to at least match some of his own that were forming would be enough. She had moved forward again, closing the space between them as he shuffled backwards, his feet still unsettling beneath him as he tried to avoid her. Missed, he could feel the tug of his braid as her hand grazed by, too close for his comfort. Your chance… Putting his weight on one foot he kicked aiming for the exposed midsection of her side just below the ribs. Wasn’t the most solid kick he could have done but it was the best he had done since they had started. HP: 5 DMG: 4
