CURRENT ARC

In the beginning, there is but one Pirate Lord, looking for a crew. This arc is about how he gathered those crews. You guys can write about how you got into Gambino and found him or he found you, either way it's fine. It's free rp. Only exception is Black is the 1st mate, so naturally the first one to join, the rest order don't have to be mention. I'll follow up on how you meet me.

With that said, Have fun!

What are you looking at kid? Never seen a ninja on a pirate ship before...
Before all the gold and booty I have collected in my miserable life, there was times of no food, no shelter, and barely enough clothes on my back to protect my skin. One thing i always hated, was being poor. All that changed when I met my partner in crime, Sunroof. We were misfits, forgotten orphans... but we had each others back and that's all that mattered.
The town of Cosa was on as small island of the coast of Japan, being a white haired kid always made it hard for me to fit in. When i was a young lad, I would pick pocket anyone i can just so i can have something for me and Sunroof to eat. I even stole from peoples home, what was i suppose to do. Starve to death?
One day i pick pocketed a farmer who made his way into town. He must have knew something was wrong because he locked eyes with me after i stole from him. I was always the fastest when playing sports so I thought i can out run this guy. No he was literally the speed of light. He dragged me by my collar and to my surprise he was intrigued by my cat like reflexes.
His name was Losheen he owned a ninja school called Leaping Frog Ninja School of The Highly Gifted and took me under his wing.
He took me under his wing he knew all about sword fighting, espionage, assassination, marksman, demolition, soul summoning, ninjutsu. He even taught me how to dual wield the heaviest of blades.. I was his favorite pupil. But he left the school and never came back. I left ninja school after I mastered all my studies. I didn't decide to become a teacher there, and I regret this everyday of my life.
My days of pick pocketing came to an halt when Sunroof and I hit the jack pot. One thing me and Sunroof always had in common we both wanted to be rich, richer then our wildest dreams, but we had to get away from this small town and fast. Luckily for us a group of pirates known as the Red Skulls, came to our town looking for a place to pig out. I had my own crew of nobodies, we decided to take the Red Skulls boat for our own and never come back to that horrible horrible town.We named ourselves the Booty Warriors. We successfully took their ship, all the idiot pirates left their ship unattended. This is why I'm always on the Gwendolyn. You can never be to careful, someone could be watching waiting to swoop in and take everything you ever loved.
We only had the stolen ship for three months. We went on many adventures even raided ships and took what we wanted. I was finally rich, my dream was fulfilled and I was loving every second of it.
Then one day all hell broke loose, I was sleeping in the captain's log and then out of no where a huge tear was blown into the ship. I grabbed all of my blades and dashed to the deck of the ship. I couldn't believe my eyes, the flag of the opposing ship was the Red Skulls. They were back with a new ship. Cannon balls after cannon balls ripped the side of the ship. My trustworthy crew were flying like rag dolls, I couldn't react fast enough I was frozen with shock. Sunroof grabbed me by my arm and said " Black do something!" But i couldn't i was too afraid, i knew this was the end. Then a blast knocked me the hell out and everything went black.
I woke up with Sunroof shaking me violently, the sand was attaching its self to my skin, the sun was burning its rays onto my face. We were stranded on a deserted island and apparently we drifted there on a piece of wood.
"How are I still alive?" I asked Sunroof finally sitting up, the pain of no eating instantly hits me.
" I don't know?" she replied unsure her damn self.
We were stranded there for 3 days until a friendly sailor let us aboard his tug boat. I don't remember his name, I never been good with names. He was heading to the port of Gambino. Thank Zeus we didn't die. It was night time when we finally arrive and it was back to square one, pick pocketing. Look don't blame me okay we had to eat. I decided to go somewhere i knew people had money. A bar. I sneaked inside and tried to pick pocket the first person I could, it was a tall masculine man. Apparently i was a little rusty at this,it's been a while, i blame it for not eating for a couple days. He instantly felt my hand go inside his pocket and knocked me upside the head with his fist. I fell to the ground disoriented. I literally thought i saw a ghost, but no I didn't.It was a skeletal figure dressed like a total bad a** with a long captains coat and a huge black captain pirate hat. He walked over to the masculine guy and hit him upside the head with his mug. The man quickly dropped to the ground and a bar fight started. The skeletal figure looked at me and said " Lets go!"
He took me to his ship and I told him all about my adventures and how I got here. His name was Siddyn. He asked me if I even enjoyed the pirate life. I told him it was adrenaline rushing and I would do it all again. Apparently he had a new ship with no crew mate, I was the first to join. Don't worry Sunshine found a way to occupy herself in Gambino. She became a very wise trader. She joined shortly after the crew had gained more mass.
For the first time ever Sunroof and I finally had a family. The rest is history,

[[ im not going to bore ye with a long story of my childhood
it was Dull for the most part anyways.
Grew up scrubbing decks and tying ropes anything to get me closer to the sea
i stole food off carts or out of homes learned how to fight handling a sword and pistols along the way I slept under the docks or on the beach
if i didn't have money for a bed though usually i didnt mind after all the beach is the seas front porch. and all one needs to keep warm is a fire or woman.

I helped my self to everything where ever i went even got a nick name in one place from the local thieves guild "the Noble" they called me
what happend was
i stole some Noble's invitation to a rather large party and being as well dressed as i am i had no problem getting in long story short the party ended up missing some pretty valuable heirlooms and a carriage as well

"what i had to carry the stuff somehow,"

Aye i had a grand time of it till i had to get out of dodge do to the law catching up on my trail not before i got the gold for the loot i stole though

I joined a crew for a ride on those gorgeous sea's i didn't care where she was bound for we ended up pulling into Gambino where i left that crew and began making a name for m'self there, After all plenty of wealthy people for me to pinch valuables from in this place

-he smirked to him self-
" i'll have a ship in no time"

In continuation from the other rp thread ...

Music setting.

Ospryan looked at the man before her with curiosity, this time she could see him much better as a streetlamp was casting light on his face. Although at first glance he looked menacing, his warm smile gave away that underneath the rough exterior he had a kind demeanor. She couldn't help herself but to smile at him in return.

Feeling much more at ease, her face lit up ''Nice to meet you, Cris'' she said. ''My name is Ospryan, but you can call me Ospyr if you wish, it's what most people here know me by". Ospryan walked a few steps closer to him. Again she pushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear, she thought to herself that she was probably looking like a mess and blushed. Hopefully he won't notice in the dim light.

''As you might have guessed from my clothes, I am a cook'' she said with a timid smile. ''I work in a tavern down-town, I make a delicious mutton stew if you'd ever like to try it!'' she added playfully. "I'm not particularly interested in ships, but I happened to wander down here after work and she just caught my eye''.

She turned and looked wishfully at the swinging vessel. The feeling of wonder and excitement crept back to her ''It feels like she's shrouded in mystery, pity that you don't have access to the doors, would have loved to go on board''. She looked back at him ''So... have you arrived in Gambino on this very ship?'' she asked him, interested.

The barbarian of a man was intrigued by this young woman. Here she was, standing before him, completely welcoming to him with little judgement. He wondered if she would have felt the same way if she knew the truth about him. The truth about how much blood had been on his hands in the past. He was an outcast...a killer...a wanted man. So many people had called him a menace to society, a scurvy dog that needed to be put down for the greater good of the world...yet this girl had no idea who she was talking to. This girl with her inviting gaze and beautiful smile...a smile that could warm the most cold-hearted of beasts. She was adorable.

A soft smile formed over Crisos' lips. "Aye...'seems like ages since I've had me a nice bowl of mutton stew. I might have to take ye' up on that offer m'lady!"

Crisos scratched the back of his head nervously. "I actually arrived in town not too long ago. Can't say I'm familiar with what's to see around here. Wasn't this ship that brought me into port though. Just so happened to be that m' mate came here around the same time. Not sure where he is now though" he said while scanning the general area. "Whenever he gets back I'll ask him to show ye' around lass."

The truth was Crisos didn't know who the ship belonged to but he knew the name. He saw the name etched into a design while looking around. He figured that kind of information would prove useful should the authorities question his presence there, IF he was discovered. "The Gwendolyn is quite a vessel. I've heard many tales about the travels she's been on."

Crisos peeked over Ospy's head to take notice of a group of Gambino's Finest, the port authority on the other side of the marina. Two words quickly came to mind...

'Oh. s**t.'

Crisos had to act quickly, "Tell ye' what luv, I got nothing going on at the moment. The ship hasn't moved since I've been here, and I doubt she'll be goin anywhere. Why don't ye' show me around town? I make a great bodyguard" he said with a nervous chuckle. "Maybe we could stop by that tavern of yours. Off the clock, o'course! Knowing him, me' matey is probably havin a drop of the hard stuff somewhere. Let me buy ye' a drink! Whatya say?" hoping that Ospryan would entertain the notion and say yes...

Ospryan was taken a little off-guard by Crisos's offer.

It's been almost a year since that distinct night. One summer day a wanderer arrived into town and walked into the Cannon Barrage to have a cold ale. That's how she met him and the rest is history. They had a wonderful time together and for the first time in her life she felt truly alive. However one night she woke up and didn't find him next to her. He had packed everything and left while she was asleep, without a reason, not even a word. It hurt her deeply. Since then she kept her distance from men, and everyone who tried to get too close to her for that matter. She felt safer that way, she needed time to herself. As a result, it has been some time since she really socialized with anyone.

At first, her reaction was hesitant. She wasn't sure what to reply. Thoughts were racing through her mind, but her mouth just uttered the words ''All right''.

She was surprised at herself. After all she just met this man, he could be a thief or a killer for all she knew. Something inside her however, told her that there was nothing to be worried about. She has always trusted her senses.

Ospryan walked next to him and while giving him a warm but timid smile she said ''Very well, I guess I will have to lead the way'' and so they started walking towards the exit of the port and on the way into town. As she realized that she hadn't had a long conversation with someone for a while, she felt somewhat tensed and started fidgeting with her sleeve. She always had that quirk when nervous.

She took a deep breath and let her arms fall softly at her sides. ''So...Cris... what brought you here to Gambino?'' she asked him.

Crisos let out a huge sigh of relief as the two turned around and walked away from the pier. He kept a pretty low-profile for the most part since he arrived here a short while ago. Talking to anyone, unless it fell under the jurisdiction of extortion or violence, was not really his style. But for once, he felt like he had just met someone who he could converse with on a personal level and get along with. Why did he decide to approach Ospryan though? He didn't want to get her caught up in his crazy life. He knew it would only be a matter of time before the authorities would close in on his location and he would have no choice to jump ship and skip town. The Blood Pack really screwed him over. He could never live a normal life again until he was either caught or killed. To them, he was just a slave...a servant...and a sacrificial lamb.

Ospryan's words finally registered in Crisos' head. He turned to the young lady before him, locking eyes as they walked along.

"To be honest with ye', I don't rightly know." He faced forward again and spoke as he walked. "I come from a place very far away from here. A few years ago, I decided that I was tired of my normal day to day. I wanted the life of adventure. I wanted to see what all the world had to offer. I've been to many lands, and strange places. But Gambino? ..aye, I've only heard stories of it. And here I am, walking through some town out of a fairy tale, looking for an old friend who just so happened to anchor down here coincidentally.

Crisos turned back to Ospryan and smiled genuinely.

"Not to mention, I got the prettiest chef in town showing me around" he said with a small laugh. He quickly glanced over his shoulder to look back to see if they were being followed. Nothing. The port authority must have been busy inspecting ships. It looks like they got away just in the nick of time. He turned back towards the girl beside him.

"Perhaps, this was fate.."
PostPosted: Thu Jun 09, 2016 8:21 am

Ospryan glanced up beside her to look at Crisos and she could see he was lost in his thoughts. She was wondering what was going through his mind. For some reason she got the feeling that he was going through troubled times. He seemed like the happy go lucky guy, but she knew that underneath there was many layers to him. After a minute of silence he suddenly snapped out his haze and he answered her with that kind smile that she was getting used to see.

She blushed and timidly smiled when Crisos said she was pretty. It has been a while since she enjoyed someone telling her that. She got such comments all the time from drunken fools at the tavern. This, however it felt good. ''I probably make a better chef than a tour guide'' she said with a chuckle.

Ospryan looked out longingly at the stretch of sea to their left before she spoke again. ''I know that feeling all to well'' The craving for wander and adventure, I've been feeling the same way for a while. Gambino has been my home for almost my whole life, and I don't regret it. It is truly a magnificent town. However I can't shake off the feeling that I need to get away. I guess, travelling aimlessly has it's downside, not knowing where you belong. However, I think that is exactly what I need.''

She noticed that Crisos was glancing behind them as they walked past the Port's exit, she got the feeling that probably he was in some kind of trouble. She didn't want to ask him about it though. He looked relieved, which means he didn't see anyone. She was relieved too.

''Let's go to the tavern, I have the keys. I will make you a hot hearty meal, you must be starving.'' she told him with a warm smile.

"It's not all it's cracked up to be lass. Take it from me. The life out at sea is liberating beyond anything ye' could ever imagine. But it comes with a cost..."

Crisos' eyes looked out toward the sea with Ospryan. He let out a small somber sigh.

"Solitude...tis' a very lonely life. All you have is yourself, and your thoughts. And the sea...well, she could be a cruel mistress sometimes. Travel far enough, and it becomes no man's land. An endless stretch of ocean, lawless, and filled with some of the most cut-throat pirates that would end yer life and destroy an entire ship for a mere small cache of gold."

Crisos quickly changed his tune to not sound so disconcerting.

"It's not all bad though. If you're lucky, ye find yerself a solid crew. Ye' see new lands that many people will never see in a lifetime. Ye' meet all kinds of people when you dock in a new town. Share experiences and stories that last a lifetime.

He turned towrd Ospy with a smile and a playful nudge. "Just like how I met you."

The minute Ospryan mentioned something about food, Crisos' stomach growled audibly. He looked down at his stomach, slightly embarrassed. Then looked back towards her. He smiled back at her.

"Yer too kind m'lady. How could I say no to that smile?"

And he was right. How could he say no? He didn't want to mention that he hadn't eaten in days since he first arrived in town. All he had to eat was a loaf of bread that he smuggled from the ship he stowed away on. Somehow all the alcohol he consumed is what was keeping him going.

"I hope it's no trouble to ye' m'lady. I'm sure the last place ye'd like to be after a long day, is work." He felt bad that Ospryan was willing to open up the tavern, but at this point the pain of starvation was beginning to settle in. And homemade mutton soup sounded delectable.

As the two continued to walk, they passed by an alley and he saw a stray cat on the corner. Crisos veered off course and approached the small feline. The cat darted down the alley. The warrior knelt down by the entrance of the alley, held his hand out and made clicking noises to attract the cat. The animal cautiously approached him and sniffed his hand. After a few seconds of inspecting him, the cat rubbed her face against his hand. Crisos pet the kitten for a moment, then stood up to continue walking with Ospryan. The small cat would follow shortly behind them
PostPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2016 6:49 am

Crisos's words were weighing in on her and for a moment she thought about what he said.

''I guess you are right, it is a risky life and there's no guarantee you will be around to see the morrow. From your words I gather that you had your share of troubles out at sea. However, I believe that as much as it is risky it is also an opportunity to grow. Meeting new people and visiting new lands would widen one's view of the world, but aye as you said, having the right people to accompany you in such a life journey is what would make all the difference. If I had the opportunity to join a decent crew, I think I would be ready to leave everything behind and go.''

Ospryan heard Cris's stomach grumble, it was quite clear that he had not eaten in a while.

''Please, it is truly no trouble at all. The tavern opens at midday and let's see... it's now two in the morning, that gives me plenty of time to prepare a nice stew for you'' she continued with a warm smile. ''Cooking is very enjoyable for me. It lets me be creative and seeing people enjoying what I prepared for them is very rewarding for me'' she said to him lightheartedly. ''I'm thinking, what are the odds? you are starving and you happened to meet a chef. I believe fate may be smiling on you.''

As they walked on they happened come across a stray cat, it was young tabby with a gray and white coat. Ospryan got excited as she always does when she sees an animal. To her surprise Crisos was too, and gently approached the cat and gained her trust almost immediately. The cat seemed to have a liking for him and she was clearly enjoying being rubbed behind the ears.

She smiled as she found the sight genuinely adorable.

''You know, it's quite amusing watching a big, strong, and mean looking man like yourself cuddling a kitten'' she said to him playfully. ''I have to say, that was really adorable to witness.''

''Oh look! little kitty must have really taken a liking to you, she is following us. I guess I will be feeding two hungry mouths tonight'' she said cheerfully while she knelt down to pet the friendly cat.

"I believe fate may be smiling on you...."

Ospryan's words played over and over again in his head. Crisos was not a religious man, but he believed in omens, be they righteous or malignant. He knew without a shadow of a doubt that this seemingly random encounter was a blessing in it's own right. He felt at peace around her. Maybe Ospryan wasn't real...maybe she was a figment of Crisos' imagination. Maybe she was an angel sent to him by 'the powers that be'. Or maybe he was looking too deep for something that wasn't really there. But one thing he couldn't deny, there was something about this girl...something special. Her young voracious spirit, so full of life and eager for adventure, her fullest potential yearning and waiting to be uncovered. She saw nothing but the good in the world, and she was so kind in return. It moved something within the warrior.

Crisos looked back at the small tabby, and then to Ospryan who appeared to have a cheeky grin on her face.

"Yea, yea I know. You'd never guess that a bloke like me had quite a soft spot in me heart fer lil' furry ones. Had a cat of me own when I was just but a boy. A stray no less. Just like me" he chuckled. "I used to go down to the beach in me hometown and see 'em there every mornin'. Used to follow me around, he did. Usually wonderin' if I had any food to give 'em. So one day I gave him a bit o' food n' milk and he never left me alone. Lil' bugger was glued to me side. I named him Cinnamon...cuz' he had brown swirls in his fur. He was me best friend after me pop passed on. Not sure what happened to 'em though. One day he just disappeared. Came down to the beach to look for him but I never saw 'em again. I was heartbroken."

The two walked on, still being joyfully followed by the cat.

"But I always like to think that lil' bugger made it to a better place. Maybe he ended up in some ship somewhere and made it to nice place like this."

The trio finally arrived at the tavern, and without incident. Crisos was grateful. The three of them approached the front door. 'Finally, some time to lay low and enjoy a nice hearty meal and some good company' he thought to himself. He couldn't wait to see the inside of the tavern, and eagerly awaited for Ospryan to unlock the door to enter.

Ospryan was captivated listening to Crisos telling her about his love for animals and about Cinnamon, his childhood cat companion. All the while she had a smile on her face, feeling like all her worries and anxious feelings were melting away. She forgot when was the last time she was truly enjoying herself in the company of someone else.

The town was asleep. The streets were strikingly quiet, except for their voices and footsteps, the occasional mewing of their new-found feline friend and the chirping of a cricket. Everything seemed mesmeric in the dim light of the street lamps and in the silence of the night.

As soon as they turned the corner by the main square ''The Cannon Barrage'' wooden sign loomed up at them swinging softly to the breeze.
From the outside the tavern looked welcoming and homey. Logs and intricate wooden carvings made up most of the building's outer structure. ''Here we are!'' she said with enthusiasm as they approached the old oaken door.

Ospryan saw the expression of excitement on Crisos's face in anticipation of entering the tavern. Promptly, she reached for the keys in her dress pocket, unlocked the big heavy door and pushed it open with a loud creak.

''Let me light up the place'' she said as she walked in, grabbing the lantern which was sitting on a small table beside the door's entrance. She turned it on and walked confidently to the other end of the tavern and one by one lighted the candelabras scattered around the roomy place.

Ospryan never experienced the tavern this quiet, it was always packed with people drinking, eating, talking loudly and just enjoying themselves. She always found the tavern to be as charming inside as it is on the outside. Several walls supported the upper floor and the sconces attached to them. The walls were littered with all sorts of memorabilia, which were collected by Gustav, the owner, or donated by his devoted clientele of friendly drunkards.

The tavern had several long tables in the middle and some other smaller tables on the sides. The bar was quite big, with a long thick wooden counter and behind it were shelves adorned with numerous different kind of rums, liqueurs, spirits, and all sorts of other booze filled bottles.

Ospryan turned around and looked at Crisos still standing at the door, he was so tall that the door's lintel was almost brushing the top of his head. Meanwhile the curious tabby cat softly padded in, and settled next to Ospryan's feet.

''Welcome to The Cannon Barrage! please, come on in.'' she told him with a sprightly grin on her face.

As Crisos stood in the doorway, he watched as Ospryan moved about the tavern. He was positively charmed at how much pride she took in her place of work. The way she moved about the room was fluid, her normal routine of opening for the day was hardwired into her. He watched as a candle flickered near her and illuminated her bright eyes in the dark room, her lips forming a tiny smile.

As Ospryan continued to light up the tavern, Crisos stepped inside and observed his surroundings. He took note of the smell of worn oak wood and spirits. The warmth in the air from the previous evenings festivities. A feeling of calmness and ease came about him. He felt at peace here...and with this girl...

"Ye've got quite a lovely place here, poppet" he said as he approached the bar. The feline sniffed around the tavern, possibly looking for something to nibble on. "Tell me Ospry, how long ye been runnin' the kitchen here at the Ol' Cannon? Ye mentioned somethin about yer mutton stew bein' the talk o'the town.." he said with a smirk.
