Kitsuneko Snuggles

As Ellie spoke, Vincent could tell she was no longer terrified like she was before. She was quickly becoming comfortable with him, and he was happy for this fact. "Well, now that you're with me, you'll have time to start thinking about who you are, and what you truly want out of life..." he said softly "So start thinking about your dreams, and whatever they may be, I will help you make them come true."

"As far as my dreams go..." said Vincent, answering her question "Well, I've always dreamed of meeting my true love. Getting married, having children, starting a family. And now that you're here, I know that this will come true, and we'll be happy together."

Soon enough, a beautiful palace built high in the mountains came into view. It's architecture was a traditional Asian style, and it appeared to have been built hundreds of years ago. Vincent began to spiral downwards gracefully, coming to a gentle landing outside of the palace.

Vincent waited for Ellie to climb off of him before shifting back to his human form. He then wrapped his arm around her, leading her towards the ornate front doors of his house. "Well, here we are..." he said "Home sweet home!" He then brought his lips to her cheek, giving her a gentle kiss.

Ellie

Ellie listened to him talk carefully, and smiled a little. Suppressing a small laugh. His dreams were so simple. He sounded so certain about this, which was good. He could be certain enough for the both of them. She was starting to wrap her head around the idea a little bit better, but the thought of children was something else entirely. Either way, she was his now by technicality. At least he was considerate of her. And it was perhaps to early to judge, but she was fairly certain he genuinely cared about her. Somehow, even though he barely knew her. That made her happy, she felt herself purring a little as she considered his proposition to her. He certainly had wealth, there was no doubt in her mind that he could do probably just about whatever he wanted. Which begged the question for her, what did she want? She wasn't lying, it was certainly not something that she had considered. But her life was changing now. Perhaps she couldn't afford to sit idle any longer. "I'll be sure to think about it, Vincent" She promises. Her purring stopping while she talks. It was certainly something to mull over.

When the palace came into view she was amazed. She had no idea how people could have even managed to get up here this far to build it. Perhaps with help? But this was astounding all the same that they could manage this. When he started to spiral she clung close again, it was one thing to fly relatively straight, but now they were spiraling. Ugh. She knew he was taking it easy but this feeling was so foreign to her. When he landed she took a deep inhale, and exhale. Chuckling quietly as she hops gracefully off of him. Landing with ease on her two feet despite the distance. Her legs a little unsteady beneath her but they support her with relative ease. That would certainly take some getting used to. She looked up at the massive palace. It was so much bigger when she was standing in front of it. She would be staying here? Here? That was insane. "Well, only the finest?" She jests, looking over at him when he wrapped his arm around her. When she gets kissed on the cheek she blushes a little under his lips. He certainly was forward. She wasn't new to romance by any means, but even so. She wasn't sure what to do with him. She brought up a hand to his on the arm that was wrapped around her. At the very least she could do that. She almost laughed again when he called it his home. This was his--- no, her home now as well. If only my friends could see me now. Her smile widened and she squeezed his hand a little. She could see herself getting lost in here really easily. But she was curious to see this palace. He made mention of undead servants. Was he talking like skeletons? She was eager to see what lied beyond the gate. "Care to give me a tour?" She asked him, looking up. He was quite tall, even in this form.

The sound of Ellie's purring was sweet music to Vincent's ears. He could tell from her reactions that she was happy with him, and he was glad for this fact. He knew that no matter what happened, they would share a bright future together.

Vincent smiled when Ellie squeezed his hand. "Yes, of course I'll give you a tour!" he said kindly. Soon enough, they had stepped through the ornate double doors and into the dragon's lair. It was every bit as grand and opulent on the inside as it was outside. Despite the fact that it had been built hundreds of years ago, it had all of the modern conveniences. The old and the new didn't clash as one might expect them to. Rather, they blended together harmoniously in an elegant, timeless style.

Vincent led Ellie down a grand hallway, lined with marble columns and arches, and lit by massive crystal chandeliers. As they climbed a staircase and turned a corner, a man could be seen sweeping the floor up ahead. However, as they drew closer, it could be seen that this man was not a man at all... but what could best be described as a mummified corpse. The creature's body was withered and dessicated, and it's skin was a light grey. A pale blue glow could be seen from inside it's hollow eye sockets. The undead was wearing a spotless butler's uniform, and there was no foul odor or other sign of decay. Clearly, whoever had created these creatures was a very skilled necromancer.

The undead looked up at Ellie, letting out a low grunt. It then turned it's attention back towards it's chores, sweeping the floor once again. "This is one of the undead servants I mentioned..." said Vincent, gesturing towards the creature. "Zombies, Draugr, greywalkers... they are known by many different names, depending on where you're from. I have complete and total control over these beings, and they are tasked with keeping my lair clean and organized. I can assure you, as frightening as they may seem, they are totally harmless."

Their next stop was the master bedroom. It was every bit as beautiful and elegant as the rest of Vincent's home. It's central feature, of course, was a large four-poster canopy bed, covered in crimson silk sheets and fur blankets. There was also a cozy fireplace here, as well as spacious 'his and hers' closets, and a balcony with a lovely view. "This is where you and I will be sleeping, Ellie." said Vincent with a smile "I hope that you find it to your liking, my dear."

Ellie

Ellie looked around the palace as they walked through it. She was amazed. The place was truly beautiful, there was no denying it. She didn't know what she was expecting when she said he was a dragon. Perhaps a cave somewhere filled to the prim with jewels? But this place was... Well, no other way to say it, nice. Then again that wasn't the best way to say this either. She wasn't quite sure she had the vocabulary she needed to describe it. But she enjoyed it immensely all the same, particularly the dazzling of the chandeliers. She had never seen a true chandelier before and she was mesmerized by the patterns of the light bouncing off of everything.

When she sees the man at the end of the hallway she immediately recalls what he had mentioned about undead. Although she initially mistook it for a man, and when she closes the distance with them her tail stops its waving. She takes a step closer to the draugr. Did it scare her? Perhaps a little but... "Where did you get the bodies from?" She asked, despite not necessarily wanting to know it certainly wasn't a question she could ignore. It was something she hadn't thought of until now though. She was relieved she couldn't smell it, she was concerned when she heard about dead bodies. But still. Seeing them was... Something. She thought they were cool, for sure, but she didn't think she would seek them out or anything like that.

She didn't feel much regret leaving the draugr to its cleaning, following Vincent away from the dead creature doing its menial task. She was eager to see them but now that she did see them she wasn't so sure it was what she wanted to begin with. Be careful what you wish for, or so they say. She thought, not giving the draugr a backwards glance. She filed them under the ever increasing category of "things she would have to get used to". But that wasn't enough to spoil her exploration of her... She suppressed an excited giggle. Her home. Or rather Vincents, but still.

When they stopped at the master bedroom, she was very pleasantly surprised. She thought it would be a little more... Intimidating? But here it was. It was just a bed. A normal room. She looked around at everything that was within. A very nice room, granted. But a room all the same. It took about all she had to not go to the bed and lay on it right at that moment. She missed a bed so much and that one looked so comfortable. Suppressing a sigh, she looked to the closet. But when her eyes went to the closet she felt a faint embarrassment. She had no clothes here besides the ones she was wearing. That was a bridge that they could cross when it came up though. For now she wasn't going to mention it. But this is where THEY would be sleeping. They. She smiled up at him "Really. It has a bed, and then some. I couldn't ask for anything else after that Kennel" She says, stretching her still stiff limbs for emphasis, closing her eyes for a bit at how good it felt before opening them. "But it's really nice. I'm liking a lot so far" She happily admits, touching her toes and holding the stretch for a moment before standing upright again. Outside of the few strange happenings here and there, overall this was almost to good to be true.

When Ellie asked Vincent where he got the bodies from, he steepled his fingers, grinning deviously. "My servants were all 'hunters' before I killed them." Explained Vincent. "They were vile men who devoted their miserable lives to hunting and murdering dragons, vampires, and other supernatural beings. Some were motivated by the perverted notion that what they were doing the right thing or protecting humanity... others merely wanted heads to hang on their mantles, and the bragging rights." He then chuckled. "Take Darius here..." he said, gesturing towards the zombified servant as they walked past him. " 'Darius the Dragonslayer', he liked to fancy himself. He was truly one of the worst... Now, his corpse is condemned to clean my halls for all eternity. A fitting end, wouldn't you say?"

Vincent smiled as he watched Ellie stretch. He was glad that she was enjoying her new home so much... Once she stood back upright, he wrapped his arm around her and led her through the halls of his lair once again. This time, their destination was a kitchen. It had all the amenities one would expect to find, plus a few one wouldn't - a flat-iron grill and a tandoor-style oven, among other things. "This is the kitchen, where I prepare all of my meals." explained Vincent, smiling "Cooking has always been a passion of mine, and in my travels I have learned recipes and culinary styles from around the world." He then kissed her upon the cheek. "Now that you're here, I can't wait to share my passion with you. So... what would you like for dinner, my love? Some grilled salmon, perhaps?" He figured that she would like fish, considering that she was a neko.

Ellie

She looked at him when he mentioned the hunters, and that he killed them. She hesitated briefly then. It was so easy to forget what he really was. He was nice to her, but a dragon. He didn't seem the type to just kill without reason, but at the same time he was perfectly capable of doing so given a reason. But she was relieved, as strange as that might sound. He was defending himself, and that was all. Perhaps even others too. She had heard of hunters. Many of the slaves in the warehouse had become slaves because hunters had killed their families. It didn't sit well with her that they were servants, and death was death. But it could have been far worse. She had no doubt that, while she wasn't considered as dangerous as perhaps other supernatural beings, she was much a target for hunters as they were. She grimaced a little as they continued onwards.

When Vincent wrapped his arm around her she smiled a little. Well, he certainly is friendly She thought again, bringing up a hand and resting it atop his for a moment. When they arrive at the kitchen she looks around curiously. There was a lot of things here, she wasn't used to seeing so many appliances in one place. When she was kissed on the cheek she smiled, but when he mentioned a grilled salmon that was enough to almost make her drool a little. She blushed a bit. Almost, thankfully she didn't. Ew, gross. She scolded herself. At the Warehouse they ensured that their slaves were fed, but they fed them just garbage. The food was never anything worthwhile. The idea of actual cooking for the first time in a long time is what did it. She looked up at him and she smiled a little. "That sounds wonderful, Vincent" She said. Giving his hand a soft squeeze "But whatever you were planning on cooking is fine. I'm sure anything you made would be wonderful" She says. She always wondered what food was like cooked elsewhere, and now this was her chance to find out. And she could learn, too. It was a nice idea. She purred a little at the thought as her tail starts waving loosely behind her. She had always been partial to good food.

When Ellie placed her hand upon Vincent's, a small smile crossed his face. He liked the fact that she was so accepting of his affectionate nature. "Very well, grilled salmon it is, then..." he said, smiling. "And for dessert, we'll have a hot blackberry cobbler served a la mode with vanilla ice cream." He began pulling out all of the ingredients he would need to make dinner. In addition to the salmon, he decided that he would fix some wild rice pilaf with porcini mushrooms and a nice green salad as sides.

Vincent put the rice on to boil. At the same time, he coated the salmon in a teriyaki glaze and began to grill it. As he worked, the kitchen was filled with the mouth-watering aroma of cooking fish. He looked over at Ellie, a smile on his face. "So, Ellie... do you like to cook?" he aske, wondering if they could work together.

Ellie

A la what? Ellie shrugged, it didn't matter to much for her. She would learn, of that she was certain. But just the sight of the salmon was enough for her. She wouldn't've minded sushi honestly. She smiled a little and held herself back with good restraint. But it was really hard, especially when the kitchen began to get filled with the aroma of fish. Fish was definitely among her favorite food and she hadn't had any in a long time. It was crazy how quick her day had turned around. And it could have turned around so much worse. She was glad it didn't. When he asks his question she comes out of her food trance, looking around and smiling a little "Yeah, but at the same time I think I'd be kind of a handicap here.. Would you mind if I just watched?" She asked, wanting to learn how to cook what he was cooking because that just smelled amazing... But she had a question that she hadn't really considered. "And can I ask you something if it wouldn't distract you to much?"

"A la mode..." repeated Vincent "It means that it's served with ice cream on top. But be warned, if you ever go to France and order something 'A la mode', they will probably look at you like you're crazy. You see, the term A la mode merely means 'fashionable' in French. It's use in a culinary sense was first coined in the United States, and the term is mainly used to describe American and Canadian desserts." From the way Vincent spoke, it was clear that food in general was something he was very knowledgeable about.

Vincent had finished cooking the salmon and he set it aside, keeping it warm while the rice for the pilaf cooked. In the meanwhile, he used a knife to begin slicing up lettuce and other vegetables for a salad. "No, you won't distract me at all, my dear." He said reassuringly. "Go ahead... ask me whatever you want." At this point, he wasn't looking at what he was doing at all - yet he still managed to cut the vegetables perfectly.

Ellie

Well, the more you know. She thought to herself. She wasn't sure if she'd ever have a place to apply it or how he knew she was confused about it. But regardless, it was nice information. She has a lot that she wanted to ask him but she decided to stick with just a couple. The more burning questions. "How... Old are you, Vincent? Have you taken anyone in before me?" She asks. She doesn't want to be rude but she curious. They both hardly knew anything about each other and if she didn't ask then they wouldn't really get anywhere in this. She wanted to learn more about this person who had taken her in. She was still watching him cook, though. That was true. She definitely wanted to learn, though she assumed in her lifetime she wouldn't get as far as he is now. But at least she could get... Well, good. She almost laughed again, she still couldn't get over the reality of the situation she was in now.

"I've been alive for many hundreds of years now..." said Vincent softly "And no, this is my first and only time visiting a slave market. I've been in quite a few relationships in my life, and they've all ended miserably. I've been lied to, cheated on, used, and I've had my heart broken." He then gazed into Ellie's eyes, a smile on his face. "I know it's going to be different this time, though. You're going to marry me and spend the rest of your life with me... And someday, we will even have children, and a beautiful family of our own."

At last, Vincent was finally finished with dinner. He divided it all onto two large plates, setting them down on the table. He then poured a tall glass of milk for Ellie, and kindly pulled out a chair for her before sitting down himself. "Dinner is ready, my dear." he said softly. He took a bite of the salmon, smiling as he enjoyed it's rich flavor. He only hoped that Ellie would like it just as much.

Ellie

Ellie listens to him quietly while he speaks, her tail twitching a little bit when he says how this relationship was going to turn out. Many hundreds of years huh... He was very old, especially compared to her. But she had all of those things done to her, too. And she had done them herself. It was just... What she was used to. It was what she did, it was her life. And as to how this relationship was going to turn out... Well, it certainly would be different, he did own her. However he wanted this to turn out, that's probably how it would. They had talked about this earlier, and he wasn't a bad person by any means. There was a lot of things that she could say but still. She smiled back and said softly "That sounds like a very nice future"

She almost laughed when he poured the milk for her. That was unexpected, but she could see where he was coming from. It did amuse her a lot though, she giggled a little as she sat down on the other end, keeping her mouth closed though. She didn't trust herself to open her mouth. She was really hungry, it surprised her. She was really good at keeping it under wraps normally. But when she sat down she inclined her head, before saying "Thank you very much for the meal". Politely, but sincere. It was difficult for her to keep herself from tearing into the food, but that wasn't something that she had ever done but this got her close. She made a point to take a bite of the salmon first. Ah... That was good. She was at the point where anything would have tasted good but that made this taste only better. Her tail waved happily behind her as she smiled wider and began working on her plate. Not going to fast, savoring her food. After a bite or two of everything and a small sip of milk she smiles at him "This is wonderful... Thank you again". Truly, she meant it. She was always a sucker for good food, especially when she was as hungry as she was. Temporarily forgoing questioning him further while she eats.

"It will be a beautiful future indeed..." said Vincent softly. "And you're welcome for the food, my love. It's the least I can do for you." He could tell from the way she reacted to the food, her tail swaying behind her that she was enjoying it... and he was glad for this fact.

Vincent ate his meal in silence for a while, enjoying the rich flavor of the fish. About halfway through his meal, he turned to Ellie once again. "You know, I feel so filthy after setting foot in that horrid slave market..." he admitted. "I could use a bath, and I imagine you'd like one as well. So... after dinner, how would you like to take a long, hot bath with me?" He smiled at her, hoping she would say 'yes'. Bathing together definitely sounded like it would be a relaxing, romantic experience for both of them... and it would give them a chance to get comfortable with one another.
