Harrison was oblivious to the stirring of drama in the Weiman household, other than the fact that the Mystery of the Horny Cowboy had been solved horrifyingly. Now, overall, the sterilizing thing itself wasn't that bad. The ever-looming spectre of zombie babies had haunted him since he was a trainee. And as far as he saw it, gay guys (like usual) got the worst of it. Girls could get that shot thing for back up. And ladies that were with other ladies couldn't get it if they tried. But with guys, it was hold onto your rubbers, which had a ******** 15% failure rate anyhow. Not that he and Rep and Jordan hadn't taken extra precautions.
Be that as it was, trading one set of crawly, squirmy thing in your intestines for another set of crawly, squirmy things in your balls was no bueno. Harrison started to get paler just thinking about it. Okay. Bad topic. No more thinking about testicle b-b...no. He just wasn't going to think about it.
He'd actually been to this particular set of caves before. He'd just started thinking about it a lot lately. And seeing it in his dreams. Something lonely and long lost buried back there that kept on calling for him. B0nez, of course, was all for it, and had been gabbing nonstop about quests and buffs and becoming some kind of unstoppable demigod. Rep had been amenable once he brought it up, like always.
But last time they went, it had taken a little extra work than the two of them had been able to manage. Not just fighting s**t, but dumbass puzzle s**t.
So Harrison was out to rustle up a little Volunteer work. And now that Weiman had got his promotion and was all grown up (and frankly ******** owed him a few times over)...well. He figured it wouldn't hurt to collect.
He knocked on the door to Melvin's room.

Rep hated Lawrence in ways he could not even begin to adequately articulate. The man was an absolute cancer on the island, a festering sore of a man who leeched onto the people around him and used them for all they were worth. There were so many reasons why Rep hated him that he had lost count but some of the major reasons ranged from the fact he had stolen away his old best friend to the relentless flirting with his husband. Harrison wouldn't betray him he knew but the situation with Melvin had been his fault. Sure, they had argued but Rep had been so sure that one day Melvin might have crawled back to be his friend again if only the rat hadn't gotten his claws into him.
Asking such a horrible ******** for help rankled him badly but if it was Harrison wanted he would submit to his judgement and the fact that he seemed to be able to at least somewhat control the old b*****d.
Mostly he was just hoping to get a chance to hang out with Melvin. So he waited behind Harrison and glowered.
Lawrence answered the door with a polite and friendly smile which turned a little rictus when he saw who was waiting outside. It was one thing when he wanted to call in favours from Harrison, it was another thing entirely when the other man showed up on his doorstep potentially wanting something from him.
His gaze moved sideways and the smile turned entirely artificial as he spotted Rep by Harrison's side. He turned a little more ingratiating as he replied "Oh hiiii." he said. "What can I do for you wonderful gentlemen? It's so nice to see Rep at the door."
His last statement had the volume cranked up quite a bit and all of the inflection and intonation of a Someone should help Lawrence.

"Oh, is Rep there?" Rodney asked, coming to the door and looking frankly happy to see him. He tucked his hair back shyly.
"Hi, Rep. Hi, Harrison."
"Yeah, hi. Is Melvin in there somewhere?" Harrison asked. "I had a Mission I was planning on and was thinking you three could stand to lend me a hand with it. If you aren't too busy. Or hell, even if you are."
Sorrow perked up with interest.
"I'm not, um, doing anything," Rodney volunteered.

Melcin hadn't seen Rep in a long time but there had been so much that had happened in that time. The last week had been unbearable with his side effects and he was feeling pent up and frustrated. The call that someone was visiting and hearing Rep mentioned had him rising up from his chair to walk over, pulling the door all the way open.
"Yeah I'm here. Been a while. Hi."
Smiling at Rep, he glanced back at Harrison at the mention of a mission and he felt a cold wash over him. He hadn't done any missions since Al went missing.
Since Al died.
"Uh.... my track record isn't...good....but If you need the help. I'll go. You've helped us enough."
Then he noticed they were just standing there.
"Come in. Are you guys needing help now? What kind of mission is this?"

"Artifact kind," Harrison said with a grin. "So, finders keepers."
He took Melvin's invitation to shoulder his way into the room. He had a big folder under one arm, and looked downright cheery.
"But can't guarantee anything. But, great. That's two volunteers. What about you, Lawrence, you feeling grateful?"

When Rodney approached the door, Rep took a very pointed step back from it, putting Harrison between himself and the frankly terrifying man. Tracey was of a like mind, always somewhere between being flattered by the attention from a human and being concerned that there had to be some kind of ulterior motive somewhere. Ultimately both of them were rendered uncomfortable at the expectation of them to be more than what they were, Tracey being nothing like the angels Rodney talked about and Rep being nothing like the good people he talked about either.
He didn't say hello back, simply gave the white haired man a very worried look before resuming his glare at Lawrence just in case the skinny b*****d (who was a hell of a lot shorter than he'd imagined every single time) decided to get in his or Harrison's faces.
Lawrence looked a bit smug at the very immediate effect Rodney had on the lumbering brute looming in his door and only wished that it had been possible to send him out there to drive him off with whatever it was that upset him so much. Of course there was no such luck, Rodney already volunteering himself to a horrible mission.
Melvin wasn't far behind, stepping aside to invite Harrison into the room. He rolled his eyes, stepping away from the door and putting a whole room's worth of distance as well as a table between himself and the ginger psycho who had let himself in also. He flopped weakly onto the couch.
"No." he said, covering his eyes with the back of a hand. "I mean I am certainly grateful." and he exhaled. "But I'm still recovering from my injuries from the last mission and this sickness from the horsemen..." he reached up to press a hand to his chest. "Oh it all aches. I couldn't possibly come along, no thank you."

"Been a while since I helped with one of those." He said as he moved inaise to pick up his glasses from his work desk, a pile of stones glowing softly.
There was a raised eyebrow as he saw Rep nice behind Harrison when Rodney came near and he wondered what must have happened to put Rep on edge like that. Rodney of all people wasn't intimidating to anyone, especially when he had to keep Kleenex on hand.
Lawr's overly dramatic excuse made the blonde roll his eyes. "really? That's so strange. You seemed awfully perky in the past few days. Enough to tag along at least. Though Harrison, if you have a intense, back-breaking project for him when he is at 100%, something by himself or under your supervision." Since Lawr just loved Harrison's company.

"Ah, it'll be good for you," Harrison said, picking up Lawrence's legs up with one hand and scooting him over. He took a seat and cracked open the folder on the coffee table.
"Here's pictures," He said, "See, there's the cave guardian guy. I think Rep and me could probably take him. But past that there's a bunch of dumbass puzzles. Walking around in the dark. Touching stuff. And after that..." Harrison waved a hand. "Whatever's over there that's shiny and powerful enough to be guarded by puzzles."
Rodney touched his scarf. "Oh, those can be fun. If there's any way we could just...sneak around the first guardian, then..."
"Nah," Harrison said, waving him off. "Fighting's the best part."
This was maybe a division difference, or it would be if the division was run by anyone but Caelius and populated by anyone but Rep.
"I didn't know you had an artifact, Melvin." Rodney said. "Does everyone here have them? What do you both have?"

Lawrence was completely indignant at Melvin's callous reaction to him and that rather than siding with him he backstabbed him instead and suggested he was both well enough to tag along and deserving of some sort of heavy labour later. He was getting more and more tired of the attitude he was enduring by the day and frankly was getting close to simply leaving and going to live in the house in towns without telling Melvin where he was going at all. Melvin didn't care about him any longer and stuck around out of some ridiculous ulterior motive which had nothing to do with his interests. Even from the point of view of being a good person staying here was doing nothing for the blonde man.
"I'm not well." he said, shaking his head. "And I will not be "tagging along." And he found himself irritated by his inability to make symmetrical air quotes.
As his legs were lifted he outright slithered off the couch just right in time too as Rep stormed over to sit next to Harrison and had looked like he had every intention of just flipping the man off of the couch entirely and possibly attack him just for daring to be touched by Harrison at all.
Lawr looked nonplussed as he stood up, brushing invisible dust off of his trousers. "You should have it on a leash." he said coldly glaring at Rep and most pointedly at the strange collar around his neck with the large blue gem on it.
He looked completely uninterested in the idea of puzzles in the dark, fighting and even magical items, shaking his head and he moved in the direction of the kitchen, considering if climbing out of the kitchen window would be a viable escape route from this situation.
At the question of artifacts Rep sighed. "Got the earring." he said. "Makes water." he didn't explain how much water it could make. "And the dagger." and he fished it out, holding it up where it glinted wickedly with its strange enochian symbols. "Which does ******** secret things." He smirked toothily. "And this baby." he tapped the large sapphire. "Which you probably all know already." He avoided mentioning the names purely to avoid any ******** questions at all from Rodney about the provenance of Gabriel's Horn.
Lawrence didn't want to talk about artifacts and was busy just planning escape routes to avoid getting maimed again. Certainly, he wanted to be a good person, but being a good person last time had almost gotten him killed and a man had to draw lines.

Rodney perked up significantly at the flash of the black, shadowy, and frankly evil-looking dagger.
"Is that enochian!"

Rep's smirk was replaced by a look of alarm as he covered the always-cold dagger with both hands.
"What?" he said. "No!" And again tried to lean behind Harrison.

Melvin fished into a pocket and brought out the ocean-blue hankerchief. "Let's me take a less hard of a hit and makes seafood." He said before pocketing it. "I used to go and help with artifact hunting but haven't gotten another yet. Could do with something with a bit more kick but you never know what you'll get."
A loom over the couch at the paperwork had him worried what might happen. Who might get hurt? Who might be lost for good?
He glanced as Lawr went into the kitchen before following him. "You know he did save you when you were starving yourself. You kind of owe him this and it would get him off your back by being square, but I guess if you worry about getting hurt I can understand. I worry too." And not for himself.

"NOBODY'S GONNA GET HURT!" Harrison projected loudly towards the kitchen. "And anyhow, it's gonna be fun. Work AND fun!"
"Oh," Rodney said, startled by Rep's reaction. "Are...are you sure, because I think I saw the word horn."

Rep looked really really annoyed that Rodney had managed to figure out even that much with the brief look he'd gotten but removed one of his hands from the dagger and held it out at the end of its chain as if Rodney was a wild predator which might depart if he placated it with a gift. "It's called Gabriel's Horn from what I can ******** tell. I got it in a ******** cathedral." And it was obvious admitting this bothered him a great deal.
Melvin in the kitchen got a cold look. "I don't owe him anything." he said. "There were no deals made, there's nothing to square. I do not operate on an honour system of vague fuzzy unwritten favours. If he had wanted help he would have had it in writing." He moved a little closer to the window and leaned on the counter with his hand.
"I don't enjoy being hurt, no." he said. "Nor scars, and what might be all right for two meatheads is not okay for me. I'm fragile, I bruise easily." And frankly what did Melvin care at this point? There was no reason for him to have any concern at all, he wasn't owned, he wasn't controlled, he wasn't loyal. He was just another threat. "It is not going to be anything." he called back to Harrison.

Melvin looked at the window and back at Lawr. "You make me nervous around windows."
"Alright. I can't force you to do anything. It's not like I'm anyone to you anyways. At least I won't see you hurt if you don't go. I'll just try and watch the rest of them."
"I just - hope I can keep it together having fun groping in the dark." He left Lawr on his own and returned.
"How many times have you been to these caves?"
