From below crowds of people gathered as they watched in horror buildings crumbling to the streets. The devastating attack Superman was dishing out was being broadcast everywhere. From once being the city's champion to it's worse nightmare. Superman whizzed at great speeds just barely able to be seen on camera. The only thing giving away who he was, was his bright red cape and obvious tight suit. Civilians did their best to outrun the impending doom and while some may have gotten lucky....others didn't. Though, they couldn't nor wouldn't know their hero was being controlled. Superman wanted to stop but his mind and body were being corrupted by the alien life form on his face. Trying to fend off the evil from within him as he tried to get back into the driver's side of his body. Hovering down to one of the buildings he'd managed not to destroy in his scary attack. He stood there lunged over grabbing at his head wanting it to stop.

Metropolis

Not long after parasite like creatures fell from the sky and bringing Superman into their fold did the special forces step in after seeing the damage their "hero" was causing. Buildings crumbled in his wake, people left and right were losing their lives, and all at the cost of what many did not understand: Superman was not acting on his own accord. He moved too fast, too instant for anyone to catch a glimpse of what was attached to him. The parasitic being held on as tight as possible all while he ignited his heat vision and brought property damage to a new and all time high. It was a scary thought knowing that they've kept this person around for so long and now he could take them out in a heartbeat; Superman or not.

The first wave of attacks, five tactical assault vans in a light beige color dodged falling debris, driving passed the wounded and dead in a frenzy to catch up with their target. Behind them and high above in the sky flew an AH-64 Apache gaining on the trucks as it was ready to move around the trucks and follow Superman up on ahead. After many long, long years, how did they not find a plausible way to stop such a thing if the situation ever called for it. The whole world has seen Superman face impossible challenges and ultimately come out on top. Such forces could dispatch this entire assault without even trying. The soldiers that rode in their respective vehicles were overwhelmingly nervous, though brave enough to still head on and into the thick of it. Metropolis’ bright, shining city setting was becoming that of an ash filled sky, grey overtaking the boundaries of the skyscraper. All looked bleak for the citizens of Metropolis. All until a woman, also clad in red and blue gave chase at equal speed after the attacking alien. There was too much chaos to fully register in their heads if this newcomer was a friend of Superman and a foe to the public, or here to end the menace once and for all. “I have in my sights,” Alerted the pilot of the Apache to the proper officials. The pilot’s hands gripped the control stick in a state of paranoia, ready to fire down on him everything that the craft could muster.

Not Far Out

“Updates, Alfred.” He commanded in his usual dark tone.

“Not good, sir. Not good at all. Superman has run rampant through his city. All that power at his fingertips gone unnoticed for so long. A dreadful day indeed.” Alfred responded solemnly as he began to quiet some.

“It was never his city, Alfred. No matter how long he’s been on this planet.” Batman replied all while he tapped in buttons on the dash and flipped switches in the interior. “I’m closing in on the city now, Batman out.” With the connection cut from The Batcave, Batman was able to fully focus on the city ahead. Smoke filled the air high enough for anyone to see. It blacked out what was once a considerably sunny day. The grounds below were beginning to become a permanent dirt nap for many people unfortunate enough to be caught in the crossfires of the rampage. In the distance, Batman noticed the balls of fire began smacking into building, those of course which had their paths blocked. The others fell and fell until they reach the ground, smacking into it with great force. What are we dealing with? His mind wandered through speculations, ideas that could help him wrap this all around and understand the dilemma they had on their hands.

“Batwing, auto-pilot.” He commanded before turning the seat of the cockpit to face the back end. On each end were slots made for arms and limbs to fit through and attach themselves to the bulky armor he had tweaked in the cave before coming out so far to Metropolis. Putting each arm and leg into the appropriate slot, the durable armored plating began fitting itself over his person, followed by the torso and other areas as he moved closer into the last minute contraption. With every piece in place, Batman shifted himself back in front of the cockpit to take hold of the controls with his bulked hands once more.

The Batwing roared in the air as it made a powerful descent into the path of destruction, an appropriate landing spot to allow him to traverse through the city, maybe even find any survivors.
The cockpit slid open from the front as the glass plating pushed itself back far enough for the armored bat to leap from his seat and onto the barren debris filled street. Pressing a button around his forearm, The Batwing fled off back into the air, awaiting the user’s signal to be summoned once more when needed. Not far off could Batman see the army finally stepping in to attempt at apprehending Superman. He had every doubt in his mind that they couldn’t stop him. Hell, he knew he couldn’t. Of all the different methods he compiled from previous encounters with much stronger opponents, anything the bat thought of were all ways to slow him down, never to stop him. As far as anyone else was concerned, if he wasn’t brought down a few notches, the world as they knew it was over and done, left free for whatever invaders were now entering earth’s atmosphere. As much as he hated to admit, Superman alone was not the true culprit. Whatever was looming in the dark reaches of space now found it’s way to Earth, wreaking as much havoc as possible within a matter of hours.

Diana flew after Clark barely able to keep up with how far behind she already was. Narrowing her blue eyes and gritting her teeth she pushed herself faster towards him. She noticed the blur slowing as she sped closer. The city burning around them as she noticed Superman stopping between the buildings. He was obviously fighting something. Should she get closer? Diana knew she would be close to even match. Wonder Woman vs. Superman. Amazonian vs. Kryptonian. There were slim odds of her losing, but the fight could go both ways.

"Screw it."She grumbled before diving in to fly closer to him. "Superman?! What're you doing? Why're you doing this?" Diana's voice shook, reverberating off the surrounding buildings as her hands motioned out to the destroyed city.

Lex Corp. Tower was not far from the action, allowing all working within to bare witness to the destruction that had been wrought upon Metropolis. The turn of events attracted the attention of one individual in particular. The man stood with his back turned toward his Bocote desk. He wore an all white suit, and his hands were tucked neatly behind his back. His head was completely lacking of all hair, and his piercing emerald green eyes narrowed as the Starro controlled Superman crashed through more buildings, and the pathetic attempt his costumed friends were making to stop him.

tch... fools. Lex Luthor muttered under his breath, turning back to his desk. For almost half a decade Lex Luthor had been trying to prove to the people of the city just how dangerous their "Superman" really was. It was sad things had to go this bad before their eyes could be opened. Luthor grabbed a crystal glass and bottle from the round side table to the right of his desk, and poured himself slightly more than he usually might. Setting the bottle back down he took a seat at his desk, smelling the whiskey before bringing the glass to his lips and taking a sip. The liquid burned as it went down Lex's throat, constituting a soft growl to echo from the back of his throat.

He sat there for a long while, finishing the whiskey off as his phone began to ring. He tapped a button on the device to set it to speaker. What is it Mercy? Luthor snapped, waiting for a response from his assistant. His lips curled into an almost malicious smirk, having been granted the information he was hoping to hear. Excellent. Deploy them at once. It's time we see just how powerful our Man of Steel really is.

"Superman?! What're you doing? Why're you doing this?"

Her voice caused Superman to stop his current warpath, internally he was trying to fend off the creature taking over his mind. His body froze then, turning to focus now on the woman he could only assume to be as a amazon (because of her apparel) who called to him. "...." Superman said nothing, instead he made a beeline heading straight for the unknown woman reeling back his fist and aiming to punch her straight in the jaw once close enough.

Diana noticed him stop when she spoke. Her own breath catching when he turned to focus on her. Blue eyes narrowing as she noticed something off about the side of his face before she could think on it more he was charging at her, fist winding up. It was all in fast pace, but it felt like time had slowed just as his fist flew at her she reached up to block the attack. His fist colliding with her arms as they both flew back with the force of the blow. Diana was going to have to prepare to fight him. Now at close range she noticed the thing attached to the side of his face. Gasping she pushed him back. It wasn't Superman doing all the destruction. There was something controlling him.

The blow was nearly catastrophic, in mind Superman was in bewilderment at the strength of this nameless woman. Not only could she fly but she was capable of taking what he'd unwillingly thrown at her, not even being hurt by it physically in the slightest. The Starro controlling him didn't care however nor was amazed. It's intent was solely on disengaging from this bout as quickly as possible to carry out more of it's plans. This Amazon was in the way and she took quick notice of the foreign alien life on Superman's face. Quickly, Starro-Superman dashed away and flew over to create some more destruction to keep the Amazon occupied with trying to save innocents rather than fight him. He used Superman's heat vision aiming it at a nearby building cutting it in half. Clark Kent trapped his own body watched as people screamed in horror trying to escape the wretched fate that was soon to be theirs.

It pained him, made him want to fly into space and never come back. He just wanted to disappear. But he wasn't in control. Hell, he wasn't even in the passenger seat, he was in the trunk of his own body, tied up, incapable for anyone to hear his cries for help. Metropolis was going to hell and the Starro enjoyed every second of it as he hovered in air watching the chaos.

The entirety of the central area of Metropolis was one giant gray ash cloud, save for the balls of fire that flew through the sky. Through the thick of it all, he could make out the heated red bodies that struggled to move from their impact craters, seemingly regaining their strength. What disgusting creatures have made their way to earth? From what he could tell, they were parasitic in nature. As much as he hated to admit it, those things were the cause of Superman's sudden display of catastrophic rampaging. They latched on to the most powerful being on the planet, utilizing his abilities to lay waste to their world. Every world had to have their fair share of conquerors.

Despite earth's new invaders, Batman was completely aware of his surroundings. He tended to those who were wounded and or trapped underneath debris, using the strength amplified by his armor to heave the masses of concrete and the many, many fragments of buildings left broken apart. He never thought he'd bring his crusade out of Gotham City unless the situation really called for it, this was one of those situations. With the few civilians he was able to save, Batman spoke aloud to all of them, trying to get them out of their fear induced panic. "None of you can stay here, you all need to move and keep on running, now!" Almost as if on the last word would they all turn and run in the opposite direction of imminent destruction.

"Shouldn't you be doing the same, Master Wayne?" Called his butler all the way back in Gotham. Though Bruce dedicated his life to the cause, he was human as was everyone but the apparent two in the sky. Powerless, though capable enough to hold his own through the worst of it all. "If he's not stopped here then we're all doomed, Alfred." Leaving the man with that, he tended to yet another individual imprisoned under a mass of upturned concrete.

Effectively and slowly, he pulled away at the chunks, ensuring they didn't allow one to cave in on the rest. From what he could tell, it was a small child, no older than say nine. Pulling her from the wreckage, he did so carefully enough without risking any cuts and or minor injuries. Tears rushed down her face undoubtedly afraid from what was occurring above them. From as far as the eyes could see, no mother or father, sibling or relative stood ready to claim her. His negative side of thinking assumed the worst had befall her caretakers.

A slight rumbling began around their area. The ground shook violently and the two of them both looked up in the sky to see Superman's path of destruction cause enough damage to a building that could barely hold itself together, falling apart at the base and slowly toppling over in their direction. Batman turned on his heel, pressing against the ground as he pushed against the weight of his own armor to put enough distance between the two of them and the building. The large shadow of the building encompassed them, nearing the point where they would be crushed underneath the weight of it all.

His attention was still directed to the monitor, as he heard Dr. Wells whisper that they people were still alive in the city. He knew in an instant what he had to do, what he wanted to do. He glanced over at Dr. Wells, the man he looked up to and spoke."I need to go now." In a flash he was in the nexus grabbing his suit, then out of the building as the Flash. Moving faster with each step he took; usually he would zip through the city but this time he knew what the stakes were if he wasted any time with that. He could feel himself getting faster, using this to his advantage he pushed himself to race to Metropolis.

Metropolis

As he approached the city, he could see the damage dealt to it from where he was currently at. It was worse than he thought, swiftly moving through what was left of the city. Passing by civilians as they ran to safety; away from the man that caused all of this. He moved throughout the city, helping civilians that were either stuck or lost in the havoc. As soon he got as many people to a safer location, he raced back into the city to confront the Man of Steel.

User Image

Electricity sounded him as he moved closer to the center of the city where he would most likely to see Superman. As he approached his destination, he saw in the corner of his eye two people just moments from being crushed by a piece of a building that was destroyed. Slightly turning his direction to them, he forced himself to move faster once again. Quickly scooping them both up in a matter of seconds, moving them to safety. He exhaled as soon as he was done carrying them, as soon as he realized who it was that he had saved; his facial expression was in shock.

As he stood there, still stunned that he was real. That Batman the urban legend was real, he quickly snapped out of it then spoke, he vibrated his vocal cords to disguise his voice. ”Do you have a plan to stop him? If so, I’m all ears.”

Diana gasped as he dashed away tearing the building in half with his heat vision. Noticing the building slowly sliding potentially harming hundreds. Wonder Woman dove down to start helping the people out of harms way. Pushing her full force against the building to keep it from sliding further she screamed out in frustration. Giving up she helped the building to fall gently helping the people out of the collapsing building. After another moment she looked towards the sky searching for the red and blue man. She needed to get him to ground level if there was any hope in stopping him.

Sector 2814

Earth seemed to be in really, really deep s**t and as far as Hal knew this was all happening in the matter of a few hours. This was his sector, he was the Green Lantern of this district, how could he have let this slip by him. The Guardians had already chewed out the rookie Lantern late last month for mistake after mistake and this would be the icing on the cake to get him thrown out of the Corps. Hal along with Carol and several other workers at Ferris Air were all huddled by a TV monitor in the break room watching the destruction unfold. He wanted to slip away, take to the skies and head for Metropolis but as far as Carol knew, he was just plain old Hal Jordan the resident arrogant and chatty pilot.

"I think I'm gonna be sick." Hal said, his eyes focusing on the news chopper catching a glimpse of someone falling to their death. In truth, hes seen worse but that would be the excuse he needed to flee the room as he clutched his stomach and fled the room. Carol looked back towards him confused by his sudden exit though after a moment of speculation, she looked back at the TV looking in awe.

Hal ran as fast as he could out of the building, throwing his brown pilot jacket and cap to the ground before slipping on his emerald ring forming his Green Lantern outfit over his person. Shooting into the sky, he made his way in the direction of Metropolis moving at his top speed to ensure he was there in the shortest amount of time possible for him.

Upon arriving to Metropolis, Hal immediately went to work, stabilizing buildings that were ready to give and fall and rescuing civilians from impending danger. In his efforts, he spotted him. The Man of Steel: Superman continuing his rampage and leaving damage and tragedy in his wake. "A shot at the big guy? Don't mind if I do." Hal dashed forward through the air forming an emerald baseball as he closed the gap between he and Superman. "Hey, Big Blue!" With all of his strength, he swung taking aim at the organism that was latched to his face. If it connected, he'd do away with the bat, forming a twin pair of boxing gloves to alleviate the pain from punching someone who's skin was harder than most known metals on the planet. With his weapons formed, he punched as fast as he could muster, trying to ensure that they were precise.

"Hey, Big Blue!" an unfamiliar voice called out. Starro-Superman turned and clenched his fists. Another distraction was the immediate thought of the organism while Clark could do nothing but be forced to watch. The shock factor of the hits jarred him enough to send the world's former greatest superhero packing, colliding and barreling through several different buildings. Finally crashing into the street which formed a crater on impact. For a minute there was silence as if the battle was over just like that. Buried in the earth was Starro-Superman now stirring. As he did the eerie silence was broken. Rocks toppling over as next came an explosion of anger. Back up to his feet, hovering erect while his glowing red eyes thirsted for revenge. Not a peep or sound nor a growl just pure speed and an air pocket breaking behind him as he zipped toward the Lantern his hand held out to grab at his throat, twirl around him and throw him upwards pass the clouds. If successful, he'd pursue the chase and when close enough, deliver a right hook then left to send the green hero rag dolling ahead him. Only to up his speed and catch him with a hand covering their entire face. Palming it as one would do to a basketball then much like Kal's spaceship as child, began his descent back to earth to slam Lantern into street not too far from where a costumed individual stood in a red and yellow skin tight suit next to another in a dark blue cowl. If all went according to plan he'd let go of the Lantern then make eyes with the superheroes.

You're not going to believe this. A vacation was all he wanted. A place away from home. No criminals just relaxation. And what did Oliver receive in return from the universe? Nothing but trouble. Every news outlet had been raving on about Superman's turning on humanity. Other heroes tried to combat him but those efforts were proving to be futile. It was time for him to step in. Not like it would change much. The guy they were dealing with was practically unbeatable. Reminded him of one of those fighting games he played as a kid, you beat every kind of guy before and then as a reward you get your toughest challenged yet. And you know what happens? You get absolutely demolished. The worst part of it is the difficulty could be on easy and you're still finding yourself ready to throw your controller at the flat screen. This was that kind of situation and Oliver knew the difficulty was clearly on hard.

He rode in on his green motorcycle dressed in his costume persona; the Green Arrow where up ahead he saw two other heroes. He pulled up behind the pair and as he did, looked to see Superman himself staring back at them. "You two have a plan right?" Green Arrow asked from behind them, his voice wavering just a bit. Here he was a guy with a bow and arrow versus a practical God. Forget the broody act. Of course he'd be scared.

Dinah Lance kept her distance away from Oliver knowing she had been following him, but she managed to get to where he now was. Lucky for her, undetected. Parking her motorcycle near Ollie's, she stepped off of it, making her way to the rest; it'd be no surprise that another super hero much less one with the super power Dinah had, had arrived to help.

She'd seen what this problem, or rather, root of their problems could have if attached to a person, and frankly she didn't want to be near it. Her scream would probably be powerful enough to rip the thing apart on impact, right? Just doubting her prowess gave her an eerie feeling. This jolt of the group simply being there made her feel reassured. At least if anything went wrong to her, she could count on them for support and even a bounce back from any imminent chance of defeat.

Honestly, Batman thought he and the child were goners. Buried under the rubble to be found by a rescue team days later as they cleared the debris. Fortunately for them, a red streak blew right towards them, whisking them away from imminent death and planting them back down on solid ground once more. When Batman started to make sense of what was happening, he laid eyes upon the Scarlet Speedster himself: The Flash. The girl that he also saved stood behind Batman for a moment but came out to get a better look at a hero in much brighter colors. He didn't speak for a moment, which was the normal reaction to most people who were face to face with him for the first time. Flash's surprise and shock quickly faded when he began to use a technique that altered his voice.

”Do you have a plan to stop him? If so, I’m all ears.”

Batman looked to the skies to spot the alien and a glowing green figure duke it out back and forth in the air. The fight appeared to be one sided as Superman eventually took hold of his attacker and brought him back down to ground level with enough force to shake the very surface they stood on. "Get her away from here, someplace safe." He said, ever taking his eyes off of Superman as he held the individual in green down.

The arrival of more new-comers didn't seem to stop as a hooded man appeared atop a motorbike, coming in ready for the fight ahead - at least he hoped. Batman slammed his fists together causing a reaction in which an orange glow began to surface throughout the entirety of his armor. The action amplified his strength, at least enough to contend on Superman's level. Alfred warned Bruce about using the suit without doing any tests prior to an encounter like this. Luck would have to be on his side for this one.

"You two have a plan right?"

"It's a work in progress." Batman replied, his voice distorted exponentially by the tech in his suit. Priority number one was getting that thing off of Superman's face.
