The evening was cooler than most, but Bob had enough fur on him to keep things comfortable. Rain was his real nemesis and while the clouds overhead seemed gray and bleak, the forecast had promised no drizzling.
All the same, the Guardian kept himself close to buildings that had awnings, just in case of rain (but also because awnings were pretty much cat versions of hammocks, only larger and more free than the humanized versions). The awning of choice for the evening belonged to a random grocery store, the fabric hovering over a collection of tomatoes or oranges or some other round-shaped food item (Bob hadn't cared to pay that much attention to detail).
So there he lay, paws slightly dangling over the edge as his chin rested atop the green fabric. Letting out a long yawn, his large body began to sway into the material, forcing it to rock him back and forth like a soothing swing.

Goretti was by far the best senshi (and frequently told himself that if he were better, he wouldn't still be a chibi) but his ability to hunt down an energy signature was getting better. In a lot of ways, it was like an Easter Egg hunt.
He felt a little tingle in one area, but not another, and so through trial and error and a game of 'hot-cold' he found himself very near a cat. Except, his eyes weren't helping him as much as his ability to sense energy signatures was, and after five minutes in the area and knowing that he was close, he gave up the silent search and called out, "Hello? I know somebody's out there, but you're very small and I can't see you."
His eyes finally reached some fabric that looked like it was moving, so he squinted in the night to see if he could spot a cat. "…So if you're up there, I want to talk! I've got, uh…"
Goretti shoved his hand in his pocket and fished around to see what he had to bribe with. He pulled out the contents of his pocket and held them in his open palm. "…Some gum, a paperclip, two quarters and uh, well. I guess this is a rock. You want any of that?"

The swinging stilled as he heard a young voice call out into the evening air, beckoning for the energy signature's owner to make its appearance. He'd remained blissfully ignorant of the auras for most of the day, but this one seemed like it wanted to be a pest and loiter around. Go figure.
At the mention of the bribe, however, orange ears perked up. Who was this kid?
"So I'm guessing by the lack of cash, dinner's out of the question."
He took his time rolling onto his stomach, the orange Guardian slowly scooting his way over towards the edge of the makeshift hammock. Paws draped themselves over the edge and he peered down at the chibi senshi. Man, this kid really was a kid.
"And what are we talking about, if you've already reduced yourself to bribing for it? The birds and the bees talk comes from Mom and Dad, kid, I'm not going to explain that business to you."

Goretti looked up, and a smile split across his face. "I didn't come to talk about bird or bees. I came to talk about Senshi things. But I know cats are really, really busy and I didn't want to not have anything to give you. But, uhm."
He glanced through his pocket contents.
"…This isn't as stunning an offer as I was hoping it would have been. But you can have any of it, if you want!"
He held his hand out, still in offering.
"I've just been trying to understand something about Senshi. Mostly, why some are Chibi, and why some aren't, and why some grow and why some don't. Uhm, if you know, at least. If you don't, that's okay—but you look so smart, so I'm sure you have to know something!"

Bob had to hand it to this squirt - he might be a tiny one, but at least he had enough decency and smarts to know to butter him up while making his request. Some of the older senshi could take a few notes from the little shrimp, as far as the cat was concerned.
An eyebrow rose as he gazed across the meager offering. "Gum's not chewed, right?" He paused, then nodded. "Toss it up."
While he awaited his payment, he mulled over the latter comments that the baby senshi had made. It could be fun to lead him astray, but coming up with a web of lies was also a lot of work. Probably depended on what other kind of questions the shrimp had.
"Everyone grows, kiddo." He drawled out, his tail flipping from one side to the other and making a soft thwack sound against the awning fabric. "But once a senshi, you're always a senshi. Some just figure it out faster than others, y'know. Some find out at, what, seven or eight? Some at seventeen or eighteen."
The particular question piqued his interest, however, and a grin escaped. "What's the problem? Not diggin' the baby version of the Moon Kingdom?"

Goretti carefully tossed the gum up and returned the rest of his pocket junk to its rightful home. "I'm not the biggest fan," he confessed. "People don't take me seriously. Which, I suppose I understand! My power isn't as strong or as reliable as the Senshi that aren't chibis. And I don't really even understand the point! Someone once told me it was a training phase, but now, I've been doin this for longer than some of the other Senshi! I don't know how much more there is for me to learn. It feels," he paused, and thought about it.
"It almost feels like someone's grounded me. Like it's a punishment? But I don't think I did anything wrong, except have a cat awaken me when I was younger. And I mean--I'm not ungrateful! But I feel like I'm constantly disappointing people. I should be stronger, but I'm not. And," he sucked in a breath. "There's a girl I like, and I want to make her proud. I want to be able to protect her--if she needs it! She's very strong! I want to be more like her! Except, well."
He cleared his throat. "Maybe a little less violent."

"One of those hippy, peace lovin' types, eh?"
The gum landed directly between his paws, Bob moving carefully to peel the wrapper away with one extended claw. This proved fairly difficult with no thumbs or fingers to work with, but he was patient with his task as he spared a glance back down towards the youngster. "You won't get far in this world if you aren't willing to be a little violent, yourself."
Dipping his head down, sharp canines plucked the gum from its holder and dragged it slowly out, mindful not to drop it directly back on top of the chibi's head. He gave the piece a few thoughtful chews before he continued his explanation. "You know, come to think of it, that could be the reason you haven't fully sprouted yet. Maybe the great Powers that Be have determined you're not ready to take on the responsibilities of a big kid because you're not willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Even if it means a little extra elbow grease."
The taste of mint filled his head, his nose wrinkling slightly at just how strongly it overpowered his senses. He gave the treat a testing tug with his tongue, followed by a soft exhale as a pale white bubble appeared from between the cat's lips. A crisp pop sent the gum back into his mouth as he paused, a sly grin slowly crossing his face.
"Then again, there are always shortcuts. You don't mind a shortcut do you, kid?"
Kyuseisha no Hikari (I know this is now painfully backdated (sorry on my part), but I wanted to say that he turned out super handsome as a "real boy"! <333

"Hippy...what? No," Goretti said, lips pursed. "I don't think it's like that. I don't want to hurt people, not if I can help it. But if I had to do it to stop them from doing something wrong, or from hurting someone who didn't deserve it, I would do what I could. I think, most of the time, words are stronger than actions. I mean--if you hit someone, what does that teach them? Nothing! Except, that you should hit people to get them to do what you want or to listen to you. It's just bad."
He was still mulling over the idea when Bob offered a shortcut--and despite his train of thought, he found himself looking up at him thoughtfully.
"...What type of shortcut?"Ghouliboo There is nothing painful about it 8D <3 (Thank you! ;v; )

Tilting his head curiously, Bob was actually impressed with the reasoning the small chibi had presented before him. For being a short fella, he already appeared wise beyond his years.
And Bob, ever the curious cat, had an inkling to test just how smart he was.
"Well, I mean, it's not the most honorable approach to things, but it'll get the job done. And you want to impress that gal of yours, don't you?"
One claw moved out, trailing across the edge of the awning. A single thread broke, leaving a tiny, waving fiber of string loose. The same claw began to twirl the string, generating mild amusement from the feline. "As a Guardian, I can promote you. But it takes a lot of energy on my part and in return..."
Green eyes left the string to stare directly at the chibi senshi, "I require payment of more than just pocket trash."
Kyuseisha no Hikari every time I think Bob has hit a low, he stoops even lower. Lying to Chibi Senshi is now his all time low.

Goretti seemed thoughtful and somewhat wary, but his reservations were incredibly short lived. He didn't seem to have the capacity to expect the worst of anyone, and he saw Bob's offer as simply that: an opportunity.
"All right," he said, curiosity brimming in his voice. The Mauvian had his full attention. "Well--yes, I want very badly to be promoted. I'm very, very tired of being so weak! What do you want? I can bring you things if I know what you are looking for! I just don't keep a lot in my pockets. But I'll work on that, I'll try to keep more interesting things in them. Just in case. But--what payment do you need?"Ghouliboo but who could be mad at him

It took all the energy within himself to suppress the urge to draw his paws up together and rub them softly against one another. His brain was going at light speed, the gears turning quickly as he thought of the answer.
"Tuna, for one thing. A cat's gotta eat. Keeps the energy up, too. A blanket of some kind would be nice, it gets rough sleeping out here during the cold evening. And..." His eyes narrowed, "A bottle of Moonshine. Can't get the blessing from Momma Moon without a little bit of that too. It's gotta be pure shine from the moon, none of that fake stuff."
A little snipe hunt never hurt anyone - well, feelings maybe, but never actually injured anyone.
"Bring me all of those and I'll turn you into the strongest adult senshi ever."

Goretti looked at Bob for a long moment and then squinted. "I can do the tuna," he said after a moment, "...But I am pretty sure moonshine does not come from the moon, and I'm pretty sure I'm not old enough for anyone to give me any of the stuff I think you're talking about. But," he seemed thoughtful for a moment.
"I'll try. If I get the stuff...how am I supposed to find you to give it to you?"
Tuna and a blanket were easy, but he was wracking his mind for Moonshine. Goretti had never been around alcohol--he didn't even think his father had ever had anything in the house. He didn't have a lot of older friends...
But he really needed to get stronger. He was desperate.Ghouliboo Goretti is determined to get these things to him, so one day I want an RP where he meets up with him again 8D /even if he is already grown, he doesn't like to let people down

The cat gave him a thoughtful look. Bob was impressed the little squirt actually knew what moonshine was - there went all the wistful thoughts of how awkward it would be for the chibi to approach his favorite older senshi or Guardian cats with his odd request. All the same, it would probably make for an amusing story, regardless, to see how he actually did try to acquire the alcohol at his age.
"It won't be hard to find me." One paw rose and gestured towards the general area. They stood on the outskirts of the shopping district - the perfect place for a talking cat and a young boy in ridiculous clothing to meet. Not exactly discreet, but not to where Bob would feel cornered should Goretti bring along any friends with him, next time. "Just come back to this spot and holler for Bob. I'll be here."
He didn't actually plan to look out for the kid at any point, but should they meet again... well, it'd make for a hilarious story on Bob's part, at the very least.
"Time's a ticking. Can't disappoint that pretty girl of yours, right?"
Kyuseisha no Hikari he is the most precious thing omg, yes please. Bob wouldn't know what to do + laugh his butt off until he realized he was dealing with a potential, actual threat should Goretti feel like using magic against him.

Goretti's lips pursed and his brows knit with determination. "Okay! I'll do it!"
He spoke with conviction and didn't seem to have any doubts; he'd put his mind to it, and he was going to make sure that he didn't disapppoint Lenka, but he'd also get whatever it was Bob needed.
The clock was ticking--but at least now Goretti had a direction to go in.
"I'll work hard, Bob. Keep an eye out for me! I'll see you soon!" he said, standing up straighter. "Thank you!"
He had a lot of work to do--and he needed to get started, now.
He waved to Bob before he turned, trying to figure out the fastest way to get pure moon shine. It wasn't here, obviously; he turned and ran towards the city.
Ghouliboo Thank you so much, I had a lot of fun ;v; And I definitely want more RP with these two! <3

He waited for the young man to dash off across the horizon before he let out a howl of laughter, his body and the awning shaking from the force of it. A lonely elderly woman passing by the grocery store peered up with confusion, shaking her head as she continued shuffling down the sidewalk, unsure of what she'd just heard or witnessed. The ginger cat eventually rolled on his back, stretching his long body against the fabric as he settled in to the gentle swinging caused by his movement.
Closing his eyes, he relaxed and embraced the oncoming nap, thoughts of his little prank sending him off to rather pleasant dreams.
Heck - he'd actually be delighted to see the little goober again. If anything, it would be fun to follow up and see what his searching had resulted in.
Kyuseisha no Hikari The gratitude is all mine <3 Thank you SO much and I'd love some follow up RP plottings!
