Job Inquiry #6
He hadn't come here initially, because he honest to god couldn't see himself working at a flower shop. Still, his iPod was on its last leg, and he didn't want to get caught stealing art supplies again (god forbid he meets Thorne 2.0), and that didn't leave many options. It was get a job, or suck it up.
He picked the former.
And he had an bare-bones resume filled out (or rather, had his brother fill it out, because his writing was far nicer). Deep breaths Shiloh, worst they can do is never call you, right?
So he went inside, peering around wide eyed, trying his best to look unassuming and normal and not-a-hooligan.
"Uh, hello?"

Job Interview #6Aleksy looked up from his account books to peer at the new arrival. Despite Shiloh's attempts otherwise, Aleksy knew the look of the average hooligan quite well: he had been one himself, though he tended to punch people more than steal their s**t. It was easy enough to see the signs: the shifty eyes made wide, the hands in the pockets. So Aleksy closed his account book and set his ballpoint in the mint-green pen pencil holder by the register. "Hello," he said. "How can I help you?"

Job Inquiry #6
First thought: who the ******** was that guy. Second thought: s**t, I have to talk to him.
Shiloh swallowed kind of hard, but as far as he was concerned, he was keeping up the facade perfectly. Problem was, he was sure his voice was going to sound awkward, and he had to say something to this guy. You couldn't just set down an application on the desk, that was for damn sure.
He knew because he tried it already.
"Hi." humble beginnings, a good start, "I-I'm looking for a job." Crash and burn.
Just give him the paper, Shiloh. He'll see you're in high school, and you'll get told the same thing, but at least it'll be because of something you can't help and not your face or your voice. He forked it over.

Job Inquiry #6"Alright," said Aleksy, very slowly. He held out a hand for the resume he could see in the kid's hand. "What's your name?"

Job Inquiry #6Great. Shiloh knew that tone of voice well. It was the kind that made him feel stupid for even asking.
"Shiloh." he handed the paper over anyway. Might as well since he came this far. "Shiloh Beaumont."
"S'fine if you're not lookin' for help, I'm just hittin' all the places I can." he admitted, trying to find some sort of reason to explain himself even if the situation didn't warrant it.
The resume was about as bland as you'd expect for someone still in high school. God take pity on this unfortunate child.

Job Inquiry #6Aleksy scanned the resume, scanned his empty shop, and then looked at the kid in question. "My name is Aleksy Yurievich," he said. "Do you have time for an interview now? Are you currently in high school?" The resume said yes, but Aleksy wanted to hear it from the mouth of the horse, so to speak.

Job Inquiry #6...Wait, what?
Shiloh also looked at Aleksy, and then the empty shop, and then back to the manager in question. Ollie had warned him about this, the fabled on spot interviews.
"This is why you always have to be prepared." his brother's voice echoed like a ghost, enough to send chills down Shiloh's spine.
This was undoubtedly where he was going to die. Relax, it's not like you're getting anywhere yet, you've just been thrown a bone.
"H-High school? Yeah I mean—Yeah, I am." he swallowed kind of hard, "Senior. 'Course I got time." he had all the time in the world.

Job Inquiry #6Aleksy tapped the sheet of paper against his desk, thinking. He could sure as hell send this kid away--did he really need any more sad, shy boys in his shop?--or he could do that thing Eve was always demanding he do, where he reached out to those who needed a hand where he was able to do ********>. "Sit down," he said, pointing to the bar stool wedged neatly between a display fridge and the countertop. "I don't bite. Especially I don't bite teenage boys." There was a flash of very sharp incisors then, but it was only in a smile: one meant to be sincere and comforting. "Do you have a driver's license? Criminal history? What do you do outside of school?" Aleksy didn't care about in school. He'd ******** around for his very short high school career and look at him, he was fine.

Job Inquiry #6There was something about those teeth that caught Shiloh really off guard, but he wasn't about to say something, hell no, not to a potential job offer. Even if it was... at a flower shop. He'd live. It'd be fine; hell, he'd have a paycheck and it'd be just great.
Shiloh "rebellious youth" Beaumont wasn't much one for commands, but you better believe he sat his a** down immediately when inquired. Questions, okay, he could answer these. Make yourself sound good, his brothers words echoed.
"No, but I have a bike." he paused, then added, "And I don't live far from here." Criminal history caught him slightly, but technically none of his altercations had been caught so they really weren't illegal.
"Not at all." done and done; he shook his head, "And uh—" great, hobbies. Shiloh didn't like talking about himself, but... "I draw a lot. Like, a lot." he looked a little sheepish at admitting this, "It's probably my biggest hobby, outside of music—not that I really play anything..."
At least he was sitting up a little straighter, sizing up his Aleksy best he could. "But I'm a damn good artist. Promise that much." Well, A+ for confidence, but C- for relevance to the job Beaumont.

Job Inquiry #6No, he really didn't, Aleksy saw, looking over the resume in more detail. "An artist," he repeated. "Do you have any of your work with you?" Beneath his left hand--there's a silver and garnet ring on his thumb--is his desktop planner, blind contour doodles of faces and flowers in blue ballpoint. "I'll be paying you minimum wage until you prove you're worth more," said Aleksy in a warning tone.

Job Inquiry #6Shiloh blinked, tilting his head when Aleksy actually inquired about the drawings. Well sure, he had his backpack with him, and inside was one of his sketchbooks; he was digging it out when Aleksy offered him the minimum wage.
Honestly, it made Shiloh's jaw drop. It didn't matter the pay, because "You're serious?!" the warning tone had no effect on him. Aleksy... was that an offer? An actual honest to god offer?
He scrambled to dig his sketchbook out now, hands fumbling a little as he set it down on the counter with utmost care. Inside were mostly sketches, all of them in either graphite or pen. Some were finished and colored, but they were far and few between; each of them seemed to be a still life, a moment captured down on paper, whether it was a scene or an object or a person. "H-Here."
It was obvious that Shiloh put a lot of detail and passion into his work, and while it wasn't perfect, it was still pretty impressive for his age. Had he more of a drive in school, he could probably go places with his talent. Except, well, this was Shiloh.

Job Inquiry #6Aleksy took the sketchbook and flipped through it. He didn't spend long on any particular page, turned them at a steady rate, but what he saw was pleasing to him and he nodded to himself with a small smile. "I never lie," said Aleksy. "Not about things that matter." He closed the sketchbook carefully, lined all the pages up between the cover and the backboard, and passed it back. "When can you start?"
