 Ariella looked around curiously at her new surroundings, she was still fairly new and she did not know that many others. She figured she get on that, and this was the first stepping stone to reach it. She flicked her tail to and fro idly as she hummed a little. She wondered who she would meet today, there was always a first for everything. At least it wasn't day time or she would stand out dramatically and she was still very uncomfortable with standing out so much. But, she knew she would get there eventually.

 Arivan moved swiftly through the shaodws, on the trail of something new, something he had never seen before. Of course, he hadn't seen more than a flash of gold, looking like solid sunlight, before it had vanished into the undergrowth with a startling amount of speed. He had been following it's trail for a while now, which was more difficult than it sounded, since it keept switching from being on the ground to the trees, to large gaps in the trail where Arivan could only assume that the thing had either taken flight or just... disappeared into nothingness. He was stuck in one of those gaps, had been for a while. He was thinking that he might have lost the trail entirely. Which out him in a bit of a mood. Ari usually prided himself on the ability to track prey. This thing, whatever it was, was obviously very good at being evasive.
Slowing down to take in his surroundings, he tried to orient himself with where home would be. He had been so caught up in his hunt that he may have gotten a little too far from his den, what with his kits being there now and all. Shaking his head sharply, and ignoring the sudden hunger he felt after half a days run, he moved like a living shadow, blending in to the forest well even though the sun made this area of the forest brighter than he was comfortable with.
Blinking, though, he spotted someone else in the area, a purple female that reminded him of the night sky. Arivan paused near a tree, sizing her up. She was in his way, at least if he tried to take the most direct path back to his den. He could circle wide around her and avoid her entirely, but it increased the chance of of him getting lost. Not a likely outcome, but it was completely possible.
Before he could decide what was best, though, the clouds shifted and Arivan was suddenly standing in direct sunlight. He squinted against the light, trying to make his eyes adjust quickly so that he could see what was going on. It was a perfect chance for the female to see him.

 Ariella gazed around as she caught some movement in the corner of her eye. Well, it was either someone who was going out for a walk or someone was hunting. She thought about it briefly before deciding it was the latter. She would not have thought she would be interrupting someone as well. She debated with herself silently before her curiosity got the better of her. She waited until the shift in clouds, since it seemed whoever it was did not like the sunlight.
After a few minutes had passed the clouds shifted and the sunlight peeked through, and with a quick pivot before the clouds shifted again she blinked and gazed at the male. "You seem to be in a hurry" she told him, although you never know what they are thinking anyway unless you talk to them. She looked from the male towards the direction he looked like he was headed, it seemed she was in his way. From the looks of it there was probably something important in that direction. If it was something important she didn't want to delay him.

Arivan wavered, wondering if he should speak to the female or just move on, try to pick up the golden thing's trail once more. He had a feeling, though, that it was already gone. The time he'd taken, pausing to see the other Elykosi, gave the fast little thing all the time it needed to disappear.
Shrugging of his disappointment in losing the thing he'd been hunting, he figured that he would run into it, or something like it, again. Eventually. Ari would just have to be faster next time.
Deciding that just walking away would be rude, he stepped a little closer to her, out into the sunlight. It wasn't his ideal choice, being much more at home in the shadows that in the light, but there weren't many Elykosi that he had met that were as comfortable in the darkness as he was.
"I was." Ari admitted after a lengthy pause. "But my prety has escaped. I wasn't fast enough to catch it. I will be next time." He stated it like a promise, though why he was telling her, he hadn't a clue.
"I have wandered a bit further from my home than I intended. Is this your territory, or are you just passing through as well?" Arivan had no desire to get into a territorial dispute. They were far enough from his den, and therefore his children, that he didn't have to worry about it if these were her lands, but he also didn't want her to think he was pushing in on her space.

 "I apologized if I interrupted your pursuit, that was not my intention at all" she told him frowning a bit and feeling a little bad for what she did. She swished her tail to and fro idly. "I'm confident you will have another chance to do so" she told him politely. As much as she was curious about what he was hunting it seemed more appropriate not to ask, just in case he took it the wrong way.
"Oh no, no. This isn't my territory I'm merely passing through and more to else exploring and seeing what this place can offer me as well as getting familiar with my surroundings" she told him lightly. That was her first goal when she first got here, to explore and get familiar with the lay of the land so she would know where she was going should she ever decide to continue exploring, she was pretty certain there was lots to discover here but that would take time.
