Finally, she had worked up enough nerve to approach the bookstore. She rubbed her palms on her skirt as she ease open the door, poking her head in like some kind of curious giraffe. "H-hello?" Temperance stepped inside, letting the door close with a soft click. Another patron of the shop gave her a funny look and she immediately flushed. Zac was supposed to be here, right?

Zac was, it seemed, a Bookstore Ninja. Not immediately apparent he appeared somewhere between the chiming of the door and her call. “Temperance! Hello!” He greeted. His cat was perched on his shoulders, balanced almost precariously with it’s tail half wrapped around his head, blinking a golden eyed greeting. “I was wondering! It seemed like the Otherworld dropped you back in the regular side of things. I’m really glad you’re in one piece!”

Temperance looked at Zac and slowly walked up him, eyes narrowing. "You... you're a real person." Her voice was full of wonder and then her mouth crinkled into a smile. "You're real!" Her hand reached out towards Mogget, the soft fur comforting. "I have things to ask! Ah -" She looked around, suddenly reticent and anxious, seeming to shrink in on herself a bit. "I-if you have time and, um, not out here?"

The statement she made gave him pause, blinking in surprise. He’d never thought about the idea that his personal existence might be called into question. He was starting to wonder why –anything- like that surprised him anymore to be fair but… there it was. “Y…Yes I’m real, hi!” He said ducking his head slightly as though in a physical gesture of apology. Mogget didn’t mind one way or the other, leaning into the touch with his normal enthusiasm. “Ah… go ahead and ask! It’s quiet right now so… I mean as long as we aren’t raided by customers or…something like that.” He offered.

"I, um..." Temperance twisted her fingers in her skirt. "It's about other stuff - is it okay out here? E-everyone..." Just in case someone came in.

"To be...perfectly fair, we could always blame it on, a book or a movie. I mean... I think it might have to be a few of them but, heck, fanfiction would take care of most of it. I sure wouldn't believe it if I hadn't... done most of it already." he grimaced at the idea but at the same time, shrugged slightly because what else was there to do?

"O-okay, fair enough." Temperance smiled. Zac was right - who would ever believe them anyway? The other side of Ashdown was a fantastical place; Zac had even said there was library of islands and memories. She shifted from foot to foot. This was it: the absolute most important question she needed to know the answer for. Temperance opened her mouth. "Is magic real?"

Zac blinked at the question, then nodded very slightly. "Yeah, yeah I think, at least in that I have no other even remotely logical explanation for the things I have seen, and have even done. Then...yeah, yes it's...very real and not unlike dealing with a wild Animal in that you really don't know when it will be dangerous but you can reasonably assume that it is."

Temperance would ask more about the weird creatures later, but for now, she was fixated. "Like, um, if it's not terribly hard - can I, can I see?"

"I um, I only do one thing that is really, visible per say." He admitted. 'And its not super -nice- to do." He added, he didn't want her to be without warning. Some people didn't react well at -all.

Temperance looked puzzled. "What is it - a fireball?" She had kind of hoped magical powers would be like her favorite video game - but maybe shooting yourself in the head in the hopes that a giant thing would pop out and slay your enemies simply wasn't the wisest idea. "Um, is.. is it okay to show me?"

"NnnnOthing quite that Dramatic." He said cautiously. "Ummm..." He carefully 'pinched' a length of hair. "... that?" He said with a helpless shrug. "I mean I think there are other things but they are a little harder to quantify."

Temperance blinked. "W-what was that?" She had felt someone tug on her hair - was that Zac's magic? It seemed, um, specific, if so. Temperance had kind of been hoping for video game powers. "No fireballs, then?"
