Adria had been powered for a while now—not long enough to feel confident enough in it, but long enough that he felt like he was starting to get the hang of things. Long enough that he was starting to develop a routine. It wasn't anything impressive; he'd picked a fairly small area to patrol.

Partly because it was easiest to manage, and partly because it wasn't too far from home, so any time he needed to stretch his legs or brainstorm outside of his room he could just take a quick stroll, do his senshi duty, and get back to work.

Tonight, he was on the roofs, poking around and having a good old time enjoying the cloud-covered sky. The moon was only occasionally peeking out from the blankets of clouds, giving him a good cover.

He felt the prickle of an energy signature—a strong one—on his radar, and he couldn't help but be drawn to it. He liked being around the stronger people—they fascinated him, and knew more than he did. He wasn't sure if he could ever be as good as they were, but it wasn't going to stop him from trying to at least learn about them.

The Knight's energy signature was strong—and he expected some glorious display: some man, beautiful and towering and radiant, strolling, cape billowing behind him…

But instead, he saw a form, small and curled, on the roof atop to him. He was immediately filled with alarm—afraid that he'd been hurt, or worse. Panic broiled in him and, anxious for the man, Adria bolted from the rooftop he was on, leaping to cross the distance between him and the man.

"Hey," he said rapidly, running over to him. Worried, he reached to place a hand on the man's shoulder. "—Are you okay?"

It was getting to be too much. The guilt at what he had said to the other knight, and then the guilt for having the guilt…it was just…he was just.

Overwhelmed.

And now, his solitude was being interrupted by someone. A voice. The touch of a hand on his shoulder.

Whisler was curled into a ball, trying to block the world out, trying to block it all out until he could figure out just what it was he was doing. What he was planning. Chaos. Order. It was just too much to keep straight. Finally, finally he slowly raised his head and saw a worried looking blonde. There was concern in his eyes, and he felt like a senshi.

Looked like a senshi.

Well. It must be a senshi. For a moment, the knight thought he was going to break down. Thought he was going to spill everything to this one, stupid, meddlesome senshi, thought he was going to make this guy his anchor.

For a moment he almost did…but then that moment ended. His face darkened and he snarled. “Who said you could touch me. Get your filthy hands off of me, senshi. I don’t need your concern, I don’t need your help.”

His fist swung up, aiming right at the blonde’s pretty, perfect face.

Adria recoiled almost immediately; he'd been close enough that he hadn't had time to react when Whisler hurled his fist towards his face. He hadn't been able to move back or away from the attack, so the punch hit him rather splendidly.

His lip split, his cheek stung, and spiking pain blossomed in his nose and shot through the rest of his body like white hot lightning. He tasted blood but was barely able to focus on it; the pain made him cry out and tears almost immediately sprung to his face.

Adria was not a fighter, and sans the basic level bullying of an older brother (who mostly liked mind games, anyway), he was unprepared for just how much that had hurt. He hastily drew a hand up to his face, as if by cupping the injuries he could also lesson the pain, but all it did was hold back the blood for a few seconds.

Even as the blonde stumbled backwards, blood was collecting in the palm of his hand and dripping between his fingers. His vision was sufficiently blurred but, fearing another attack he was trying his best to keep his distance.

"I'm sorry!" he blurted, and while it seemed instinctive he seemed the sort to mean it. He also seemed the sort who had no idea what to do when blood was gushing out of your nose and as soon as he opened his mouth and tasted the blood dripping into it, he pulled his hand away to inspect it. The sight of the blood had him audibly gasping and he looked frantic, shoving both hands to his face immediately.

Whisler almost faltered. Everything almost fell apart when the pretty blonde apologized.

Apologized for being hit. For doing nothing wrong and getting hit in the face. That alone, that pathetic apology nearly had Whisler in tears…but as he opened his mouth to do an apology of his own, his chest burned and a fierce feeling of pride overtook him. It was just a senshi. A stupid sniveling senshi who had deserved to be hit. He was going to do a lot more hitting soon enough. A lot more hurting. And it wouldn’t just be feelings that got hurt. It would be people…

The knight’s expression darkened again and he stood up, standing straight and proud, his purple eyes fixing themselves on the senshi. “You’ll be sorry. That’s for sure. I’m going to remember you, senshi. You’ll belong to chaos one day, I’ll make sure of that. I’ll make sure you know your place in the world. It isn’t wise to just walk up to people, especially when they want to be left alone. You’ll do better just keeping your bent nose out of other people’s business.”

He should just leave…he should just walk away now. The words were spoken, they couldn’t be taken back, and the more he wanted to take them back, the sharper the pain in his chest was, so finally he just gave in. With a sneer, the knight raised a foot and used it to shove the senshi over. It was so much. Too much.

But…maybe it would drive home who was going to have the victory here. Chaos would have the victory.

Always. There was no doubt of it in Whislers mind…and hopefully this senshi would be having the same thoughts. “If you’re smart, kid…you’ll find someone to bring you to the darkness where you belong. Where we all belong.”

There. The burning in his chest subsided, seemingly pleased with his words. He turned then, hopping off the building and leaving the bloody senshi behind. He had done more than enough.

The punch had been enough to hurt him, but the words were enough to scare him. He fell backwards when the Knight kicked him to the ground, and he'd been so stunned that it wasn't until the Knight's energy signature was fading that he managed to push himself up. He couldn't even think of how he was going to explain this injury to his parents, but the safest thing to do seemed to go home.

Go home, and lock himself in his room, and never come out, probably.

He barely made it down from the building before he was trying to power down; he wanted to be off the radar and out of everyone's way.

He wasn't going to worry about excuses or explanations, he was just going to hide and reassess everything he thought he knew about being a senshi.
