Hobbies: Staying in shape: Damien likes how he looks and in order to stay an effective body guard, he exercises to keep himself in prime fighting shape and form. He often goes to the gym to practice his karate, and to make connections for the future. Otherwise, he would usually stay at his apartment to work out and practice.
Underground Fighting: To keep up on his skill and to keep him from getting too bored with his job, Damien has taken up the hobby of illegal fighting and he even joined a fight club that follows the same rules as the fictional fight club portrayed in that one movie with Brad Pit. When he was in Russia, his mother would worry about him coming home in bruises, fearing that one day the streets would take away her last remaining child...She had already lost his twin sister due to a situation that was beyond her control, she couldn’t afford to lose him too. Damien has a juvenile record and his mother has tried to stop him in the past, but all he would do is nod his head and promise that it will be his last time when all he does is go right back to the fight club. He tried to listen to his mother, really he did. But the fight club has and always will be an addiction of sorts for Damien and it's the only way for him to release his anger. He's more careful now as a much older adult, but that's not to say he hasn't had a couple of close calls.
Virtues: Observant: Damien likes to know as much as he can about anyone and the environment around him just in case he needs to use it to his advantage, and to help him prevent any unforeseen threats to his employer and his daughter. You can learn a lot about a person just by observing them and learning things that they didn’t know about themselves. While Damien is no stalker, so when he decides to “observe and take notes”, the person or thing has to be worthy enough to capture his fancy. Otherwise, he won’t waste his time with them, usually making a mental note in his head about any and all the info he’s learned about the person for later use. There’s nothing like noticing things that no one else notices about themselves or the environment around them, it helps to keep him alert and on his toes.
Humph, one look and I know you’re lacking in some departments...Calm: Damien knows how to keep a leveled head, often seeming so calm that people could feel it coming off of him in waves. Sometimes it scares people because Damien can be deathly calm even when he’s angry, often leading people into uncertainty. If Damien’s sense of calm was ever broken, he’d become a loose cannon full of the tightly controlled anger and hated he keeps within. But, because he knows how to keep his cool and he does it so well, Damien knows that he won’t ever reach that point. The only thing that would cause him to break his calm would be anyone threatening his employer or his daughter, both of whom he has known for over ten years, or someone talking about his mother in a negative way. That’s something he won’t tolerate.
This calm exterior hides more than just a beast… Confident: Damien is confident in his abilities and himself as a person. His confidence enables him to do things that other people wouldn’t dream of doing or too scared to even try. However, there is such a thing as being over confident and Damien is no exception to this. Sometimes, Damien will get a little too confident, which results in him seeming like an even bigger a*****e than he already is, especially when it comes to fights and interacting with the ladies. Damien’s confidence can draw people in rather than scare them away because in his mind, confidence is the key to control, and if you can control yourself, the environment around you, and others then there’s no limit to what you can do. People are drawn to Damien because his confidence flows around him like a thick fog. It’s the fog that draws them in, and it’s the fog that keeps them wondering.
Confidence and swagger…I’ve got it all.Flaws: Cruel: Damien doesn’t care about you or your sick mom. He would be the one to laugh in your sick mother’s face IF he ever went to visit her in the hospital before cutting off her IV. Damien loves being a cruel b*****d and making other suffer is something he revels in. When he was a young little lad, he was one of those quiet kids that would use a magnifying glass to burn those poor hard-working ants just for a laugh, or to observe how long it takes for these little things to burn. It’s this type of cruelty that drove kids away from Damien as a child and hell; it still drives people away from him as an adult. He doesn’t care though, who needs people anyway? Damien can't show cruelty to someone he considers a close friend or someone he loves. His mother and sister [whenever he finds her] is a prime example. He cannot be cruel to the woman that gave birth to him and did everything she could to make sure he would be raised right. Even if his father [who had already left the country at the time] could’ve taken them with him. Damien’s mother knows how her son is, but truly believes he can change if he meets the right person. She knows that deep down, there's a softy in there somewhere. Damien will deny this of course, since he knows that, despite whatever his mother sees in him, he wouldn’t change no matter what. The world was cruel to him, so why should he be the nice guy? Clearly the only way to get by in this world is to be the biggest, baddest, b*****d around. Damien doesn't go out of his way to be cruel to people, he finds it…. Boring and well, despite being a b*****d, you got to have standards right? Being cruel comes naturally to Damien. Blame it on the lack of a father figure in his life that really mattered.
The world is a cruel place…Let that s**t burn.Cocky: Damien is convinced that he’s capable of taking on the world and nothing can hurt him that he doesn’t find pleasurable already. This gives him an air of cockiness that really pisses men off and makes women swoon or stay as far away. Damien doesn’t care though, he has the power to kill a man with nothing but his fist and anger alone, and he’ll do it all with that cocky a** smirk on his face. By default, Damien has gotten his a** kicked many times in the past all the way from his childhood to recently about a year ago, but with the way he acts, many people would have a hard time believing any of those stories. Even though he lost some fights too, this only drove him to work harder so he wouldn’t lose, and so that he could prove that he couldn’t be beaten. Damien’s ego is so big that it could feed three planets if turned into food, popping it would take something or someone amazing.
Kicking your a** is my job. Be happy I’m good at it.Manipulative: Damien is a manipulative b*****d and he isn’t above using people or objects to get what he wants at the time. Whether it’s your loyalty, or your girlfriend, Damien will find a way to manipulate the situation to get it. Back when he was living in Russia, in order to gain more turf for the gang he was in at the time, Damien systematically made his way up their ranks till he became close to one of the Escort girls that was close enough to the brother of the cousin that was the right hand man to the boss. He took small steps at first, little suggestions here, small whispers there, then gradually he began to help the boss make some decisions on minor events, telling his boss everything in return so that they could be there every time to disrupt these plans and eventually, after the boss had finally decided that there may be a mole with in their organization, he started taking out members of his own gang one by one just to make sure that he got the mole one way or the other. In the end, the gang in its entirety was destroyed from within, giving his gang the territories they had as well as more influence throughout the underground. There are certain things Damien won’t do however, and that’s be at the mercy of someone else or anything resulting something that would make him look bad or make him a lesser version of himself. Either way, if you have something that Damien thinks he can use to his advantage, he will manipulate you to get it. Period.
