Today was the day he was going to study and get some work done, stop getting distracted [yes he’s thinking about you Ryan], and hopefully pull that D he has in math class up to a B or higher. So much was Dmitry determined to do this little thing here that he made friends in his math class; study buddies actually, but that was neither here nor there. The fact remained that he was having people over, he needed to clean, order some food, and hopefully get some edumacation on.
As he cleaned, Dmitry sat there and stared at his new xbox one, wondering if he should hide the cord before he decides that killing zombies on Black Ops 3 was worth more than his degree right now. “Yeah, probably should.” With that, he hid the cord in plain sight: right in his couch cushions.
Because he so wouldn't forget where he put it when it came time for him to use it….
Yep.
Once he was sure the house was as clean as it was going to get, Dmitry flicked through his contacts, sending both of his new buddies a message:
[ Yo~ House is clean! Let’s do this s**t!!!! ouob ]
~
Terry didn’t have bad grades in the math class per say, he just knew he had to keep studying to keep them. And to study effectively he really needed to shelf his next game project for now and actually do said studying. So he ended up with a small study group with the two other Knights in his math class and now here he was, showing up at Dmitry’s place with his backpack filled with books, not just math books as it was a good chance to study other classes after all. When he got to the place, he slipped out of his roller blades and took them in hand before knocking on Dmitry’s door.
[The party has arrived! *Terry hides in Batman hoodie saying ‘Nope’*]

Math homework was slowly but surely turning into his world; sometimes he wondered why he had to go and pick engineering as his major, but then he would work on a project and he was reminded of the end result of the current hell that was this college level math course. And yes, it was very much hell.
Dominic wasn't even home when he got the text. He was at the usual cafe where he could have a cup of coffee while he wrestled with yet another paper. It was a merciful call to gather for the mutual benefit of getting homework done, so once he got the text he packed up his stuff, left a generous tip and hauled a** over to Dmitry's place.
It was a decent apartment by the looks of it. Far from sketchy, that was for sure, so he was comfortable with parking his bike on the street and heading up with his bag and helmet in tow. The elevator to the fifth floor didn't take too long, and when he got to the right door he saw that Terry was already there.
"Yo, glad I didn't miss anything."
~
Well, that didn't take too long apparently.
Dmitry quickly answered the door when Terry, and Dom arrived at the same time, a friendly grin on his face while he stepped out of the way. “Welcome~ Grab a seat on the couch and lets get this thing going! Oh uhhhh….Anyone want refreshments?” He forgot to go shopping and he didn't want to order pizza without figuring out just who wanted what. BUT, he did have some alcohol so there was that.
“I was going to order pizza, but I need to know what you guys want so I won't have any left overs.” he was also needing a smoke before he got down to study, so he would also do that as well. “Imma go grab a quick smoke and I'll be back.”
~
Terry gave a small smile and a wave to Dominic when he walked up. “Yeah, you got here right on time.” It seemed that the timing was right on the dot as Dmitry opened the door just then. “Hi.” He looked around Dmitry’s place when they were let in then looked at the other man. “Nice place you have. What kind of drinks do you have?” He asked as he moved to the aforementioned couch.
The young man got a grin on his face when pizza was mentioned. “Well, how many pizza’s are we ordering and are we splitting the cost?” He asked then kind of side eyed Dmitry for going to go smoke but didn’t say anything about the habit.
~
Nice. Timing was everything, after all.
Dom gave a silent wave as soon as Dmitry opened the door, then casually strolled toward the couch as soon as they were let in. He was more preoccupied with taking in the space than taking up space on the couch itself, so when Terry claimed the cushions he took up the long side of the coffee table.
"I'm an omnivore, bro," he said on the offer of pizza. "Order it and I shall consume. Pass on the drinks, though. Need my faculties. Math sucks bad enough without being tipsy."
With that he started breaking out the books, deciding not to even comment on the smoking thing.
~
While he was outside, Dmitry decided to order three pizzas, chatting in between drags while he tried to figure out if he wanted to pay or split the cost. To be honest, he had nothing major he needed to do with his paycheck this week, so he could afford to pay for the pizza and still have some left over to carry him over till bill week. He took one final drag, completing the order and poking his head back in through the balcony door. “I’ll pay for it. It's one large and two medium. Also, please for the love of whatever deity you believe in, please eat all of it. Last thing I need is for the health nut boyfriend to scream and screech at me for having a bad diet.”
The cigarette was put out in the ashtray on the patio table and he waited close to fifteen minutes till he walked back in the house, leaving the balcony door open. Minutes later, he was sitting down with a book in his hand while trying to concentrate on a specific math problem involving some x’s and y’s. “******** does this s**t always have to be so complicated?” Like, WHY would you need to figure out the value of y anyway? How the hell was that going to help him when he decided to design a building?
~
While waiting for Dmitry to come back in, Terry had gotten out his books and homework, spreading it out in neat piles of like with like. After a moment he got started on his math homework, since that was the main thing they had made the study group for, and didn’t look up when Dmitry announced he had ordered the pizzas. “Are you sure? I don’t mind chipping in for the pizza.” He wasn’t worried about leaving any left overs, for as small as he is, he could pack away quite a bit thanks to how much he blades.
He was working his way through some fairly difficult equations when their host started to complain about how complicated his own problem was. “Because if it wasn’t then they haven’t done their job in confusing you.” He said as he looked up. “Need any help?”
~
Dominic was relatively focused on his homework, plowing through the first few problems without any serious difficulty. By the time Dmitry had gotten in and started working on his own homework, the raven-haired youth finally found himself stumped. He clicked his pen closed and set it down with a sigh before his mind went to the brief discussion about pizza from earlier that he hadn't paid attention to all that much.
"Yeah, or at least let us cover the drinks. You're already hosting, dude," he said with a smile. "As for the math thing...if I ask that question I'm just tempted to rage-quit so I just don't."
And he was being quite truthful about that, too. The first few weeks of actually sitting down and doing his homework properly while grumbling in the background had many nights that ended with his book thrown clear across the room as a result of his frustration, and that was just not a side he wanted these potential buddies to see so early on in a friendship.
~
“Well, I mean I don't have any bills to pay this week so my treat.” he smiled and waved his hand at Dom mentioning paying for drinks. “I have drinks in the fridge….Some soda, juice, baby formula…..” he sighed at the last part. Taking care of his newborn sister was something he'd probably never get used to. “But don't worry about it…” He was determined to get this math thing, scribbling down some potential answers when Terry asked if he needed help. Truthfully, he did, but he wanted to torture himself more by trying to figure it out on his own.
“Nah, I'll get it eventually.”
Or he could just rage quit like Dom mentioned.
~
Terry was tempted to leave Dmitry at least a $5 bill when he left but put it out of his mind for now. “Are you sure?” He asked and gestured to the papers in front of the other man. “I’m sure between one of us three we would be able to figure it out.” He shot Dominic a look that was both amused and sympathetic. While he didn’t have that problem with math, he had raged quite a few times over other subjects.
He raised an eyebrow at the baby formula bit. Not that Dmitry had it so much as over the way he phrased that seemed like he was offering it up for consumption. The dual haired man hide a smile and pushed the amusing thought away since he knew that wasn’t what the other Knight had meant.
~
Dom picked his pen up and fidgeted with it as the conversation continued, the math problems set aside for the time being. He made a little face at mention of the baby food; the last time he'd had the stuff it gave him the runs for a couple of days so if he was offered it this time he would definitely pass. To each their own, though, and he wasn't about to judge.
"Yeah, dude, lay it on us," he said, choosing to focus on the math portion of the evening again. He then tapped the middle of the table so Dmitry could display the problem that was giving him...problems. "What are study buddies for, right?"
~
Well, they had a valid point there, what was the point of study buddies if they didn't help one another? Maybe there was a step he missed? Dmitry sighed and placed his paper in the middle of them, pointing to the problem. “I'm sure I missed a step, because x cannot be that far away if I'm trying to get the proper angle.” It wasn’t like he was stupid, he just didn’t understand some math problems sometimes.
~
Terry shifted over so he could see the problem better and studied it. He let out a hum under his breath as he thought of what the correct formula for the problem was. “Try it if you switch this number here with the number here.” He pointed out the two numbers he had been referring to. “I think you just got them mixed up and once that’s solved you shouldn’t have any more problems with it.”
~
Dominic craned his head to try and see the problem as well, nodding as Terry offered a solution that he more or less agreed with.
"Yeah, I mean," he started as he looked at the way he'd solved the problem on his own homework, "I'm pretty sure that's what mine looks like...yeah." Dominic offered his paper for a side-by-side comparison. "See?"
~
Dmitry decided to try the solutions both of his study partners came up and found that they were both pretty good. So basically switching things around to match what Terry had worked. He looked to the brown haired man with a smile. “Thanks.” it was sad how that was so easy really. Soon enough, there was a knock at the door, which meant that the pizza had arrived. Dmitry calmly got up and put his hair up in a bun before answering the door, smiling brightly at the young man there. He was kinda cute, too bad he was “off the market”, otherwise those digits would have been on top of that box, or written on it.
“Pizza for Dmitry? This is the right address right?”
The boy was too cute for words, really. Dmitry flashed a smile and a wink, wanting to laugh at how the boy blushed a beet red. “You have the right guy~ Thanks…..” “O-Oh! Ummm, Derick! A-Aaahhhh…” The kid pulled out the receipt and handed it over to Dmitry who signed and gave it back. Derick then wrote something else on the return copy of the receipt, smiling nervously at the red headed gentleman before him.
Huh...Well he’ll take the number so as to not hurt the boy's feelings.
“H-Have a nice night Dmitry, enjoy your pizza!”
With that, Dmitry smiled once more and closed the door, placing the pizza on the counter and throwing away the receipt. Damn…He turned to his study buddies then, gesturing to the pizza.
“Dinner is serrrrved~”
~
“You’re welcome.” Terry said with a small smile and a nod. When there was a knock on the door and Dmitry went to answer it, he didn’t move from his seat on the couch but he did look up and watch as the other man turned their delivery boy into a blushing mess. He gave the other Knight an amused look when he turned back to them and gestured to the pizza. “Poor guy, never stood a chance.” He said in a teasing tone and a smile. “Got any plates?”
~
Soon as the pizza was served Dom's hand shot out to grab a piece, not at all concerned about plates and whatnot. When Terry brought it up the slice was half-shoved into his mouth, and he blinked.
"Ish piksha bro," he said while he stuffed his face, biting off a large chunk from his slice. When he finally swallowed it he smirked at the two other guys. "Plates are not a needed thing for pizza, but…" and he paused to glance down at his homework. Not ten centimeters away there sat a little glob of cheese that must have fallen from the slice he was no holding. "...I guess since homework is involved I can be a little more civilized?"
~
Hours later, Dmitry had said his goodbyes to Terry and Dominic, yawning and cleaning up his living space before turning off the lights and heading to bed. It was a shame that they didn't drink or anything, but there was always next time for that to happen. At least he has some buddies he can hang out with noe as to just sniffing around Ryan’s a** for god knows how long.
