*Backdated to 4/5Hyperborea had sent out the call to Delphi a little while ago asking her to meet her in the park. She had promised to fill the Polaris knight in on what had happened to her during her last fight with Painite. Plus she wanted to see how her fellow knight and friend was doing after the business with the code.
So the transcended knight of cosmos sat on a bench waiting, her arm was still in a sling and she had started to develop bags under her eyes. Ever since accepting a portion of chaos into herself from the code piece she had been having awful nightmares which were causing her to suffer from a lack of sleep. She wondered if Delphi was experiencing any side effects like that.
As she felt the familiar aura of a Polaris squire she looked up. She waved to her friend as she came into view. "Bonsoir Delphi." She said to the knight as she offered her a seat next to her.

She's received the call earlier and had responded - she'd meet the other. Now that it was time for the meeting Delphi was headed for the park, and for Hyperborea. Normally she'd have been on time, she was a rather punctual person, but as it was she was a bit late in arriving.
Winterlynn wasn't the sort to argue and fight with people, she lived up to her name and was just cold with most people, but as she'd made her way closer to the park in civilian form she'd found herself arguing with someone who had been in such a hurry that they'd walked right into her. Normally she'd have glared, filed it away in her head incase she ever saw the person again, and be on her way but no - not tonight. Actually not since accepting that bit of chaos. She'd been more willing to argue with people rather than behave in her usual manner. She knew why it was and yet it didn't help in curbing the behavior much.
Either way when she finally had powered up, once closer to the park, she closed the distance between herself and the knight she was going to be meeting tonight. When she did arrive she nodded once to the other, taking note of the sling. "Feeling any better?" She asked nodding to the others arm before seating herself. "A good evening as well. I hope you've been safe." Delphi responded as she turned in her seat to face the other. "You look exhausted...are you not sleeping?"

Hyperborea noticed the other's nod at her arm and assumed that was what she was really asking about. "I'm doing better, I got surgery to fix this and I've been going to my physical therapy sessions so I'll be fine in a few weeks. At least according to my doctor." She assured the other.
"Merci, I've been as safe as any of us can be." She said with a little chuckle. Their line of work was hardly something that could ever be called safe but she had the strength of a knight to protect her and thankfully she hadn't run afoul of any generals since her injury.
She sighed. "I haven't, not since we all took that bit of chaos into ourselves." She bit her lip wondering just how much she should tell Delphi, she ultimately decided that she should be honest with her friend. "Once I had visions of a terrible future, I was older and had corrupted into a general in it. I did some terrible things in that future. That's why I'm so happy to have these." She said tracing a finger along the glowing lines on her face. "Cause it means that future can never happen now. But ever since I took a bit of chaos in I've been having nightmares of that future."

"I hadn't realized it was that bad. I am glad you're doing better. If you need anything in the meantime let me know, I'll help." And she would, the younger knight was lucky Delphi didn't mother hen her. She had not realized the other was so young till recently, so knowing that had the elder wanting to care for the white haired girl. She was young and in a war - she had been badly injured.
"I am glad for that. I hope you've been playing it safe." She said after a moment. She hoped the other wasn't going out alone on patrols, or at all really. If she got caught out...with her arm like that. it wouldn't be good, she could re-damage it, worse even, and who knows what else. No, she didn't wish to think about what possibilities she knew were there.
"I see...are you still corrupted then?" She asked the other as she reached out to ruffle her hair. "I would not allow you to corrupt then. You need to remain Hyperborea - a knight of the cosmos. We need to remain allies...now and into the future - not just us." She spoke seriously as she settled her pale eyes onto the other. "I've been more...aggressive lately." Something she rarely was. "If you want, and think it may help, perhaps you can use the small guest room I have. You can wake me if you have a nightmare and we can watch a movie then - to help you sleep again. I have a large collection of movies." That was, honestly, putting it lightly. Delphi had a massive collection of movies, all kinds, that she had watched over the years. Some more than others, of course, but it was a thing of hers...she liked to watch movies, especially with her mother.

"I have a torn tendon. I took a gamble in a fight that didn't pay off and a general impaled me in the shoulder with her spear." She explained. "Merci that is very kind of you." She said with a smile happy for the offer of assistance.
"As safe as those in our line of work can be, but I have been avoiding captain and general auras. I've only been dusting youma and running off lieutenants." She answered, for her that was playing it safe. Or at least as safe as she would allow herself to be.
The knight giggled as her hair was ruffled. "I suppose I'm not, nor could I be with my transcendence. Merci, I don't know why I corrupted in that future but I'm sure it won't happen now that I have allies like you, mon'amie." She smiled at the knight of polaris.
"I'm sure its the chaos, it's bringing out bad quality in us, fear for me and aggression for you. I've heard agents who are under Metalia's influence long enough experience similar feeling. But for us it should pass." She said hopefully.
"If you're sure I wouldn't impose then I would love that. I'd have to let my dorm know but I'm sure it would be fine." She said geniunely appriciative for the kind offer.

"Next time find a way to call for help. it might not be much but I'll help." She wanted to say that she didn't want the other to fight a General alone, at all, but the other knight was higher ranked...but also younger than Delphi herself was. She felt a bit, or a lot, protective over the younger girl. "Weapons vs. the magic we have is a dangerous risk especially since they can teleport." not to mention how vicious some members of the Negaverse were.
"That's good, till you heal." After that the two of them should stick together, they really should.
"Yes, I would not allow that to happen and if it did I would drag you to my princess." She stated smiling down at the other. She would not see her friend, someone she had made a pact with, brought into the Negaverse. "It likely is for us but for them...fear? I don't think for them that would be the chaos but the environment. The aggression I could see however." That was...troubling. To allow something that much control over you - to warp you and make you more aggressive.
"Of course I'm sure. I can cook and we can watch movies, I have an extensive collection, and then if you have trouble sleeping you can wake me and we can talk." It would be easier for the other since she didn't have to fear waking Winterlynn, as she would be expecting it, and the younger could talk freely about it as Winterlynn knew everything as they were both knights. Yes, it was a good idea for the white haired girl.
"The offer stands beyond this as well. If you ever want to crash at my apartment...I'll have a key made up for you. You can let yourself in and crash for as long as you need." Maybe she should make a key for Polaris also? Just in case she ever needed the others help or in case Polaris needed a place to go, to hide an injury or anything else. These were thoughts she'd never before had, never thought she would either. It seemed that as time went on she was slowly, at a glacial pace really, making friends.

"I'll try to." She said though it was a lie. It wasn't that she didn't trust Delphi or anything but if she was fighting against a general too strong for her to handle alone then she didn't want to risk injuring a friend by pulling them into the fight too, at least not when they were still a squire.
"That's true but I do have a few things to even the odds, like they can't pull my starseed anymore thanks to my transcendence. Plus my magic is blinding magic if I ever really need to flee from a fight." She assured.
"You're a good friend." It made her feel good to know even if she did somehow fall to chaos her friends would bring her back to the light. "That's possible too, chaos is such an alien force its hard to know just what it can do."
"Merci, then I will take you up on your kind offer. But you have to let me treat you to dinner then, as a thank you." She said with a smile.
"That's a great idea, I should get you a key to my house too. It's this really nice big house out in the suburbs. You can use it if you need a place to hide or if you just want to hang out, I even have a pool." She offered. Maybe if someone else was there her place wouldn't feel so big and empty. She rarely went back home for that reason.

"They can pull it...they can't bring you over to their side - right?" They could still pull it and kill the other though, at least she would think so. She didn't know a lot about transcending though, but she did know they couldn't corrupt after they gained those glowing markings. It was a good safety for them to have in a battle.
"Ah, mine is a shield. it would be good to use with your blinding magic, a shield to cover your back as you flee, using your blinding magic to help in the escape." It would make sure a safe escape surely. Their magic could make a very good defense if need be, when worked together. Would the other see that also? That it could be put to good use in a battle, and not just for themselves.
"It is and I'm not keen to find out too much on it, it would mean getting close to it." She said with a shake of her head. She had no desire or want to get close to chaos even if it was to learn more about it. Not only was there a risk to that, for anyone, but why would she want to get that close? Knowledge was good but not if you never came back from the quest for it.
"I'd like that, I live here in the city in a fairly decent sized apartment." Two bedrooms, a living room and a small kitchen with a table to eat at. it wasn't over the top but it was home and it was nice - it worked for her. "We can make it a normal thing if you would like - to spend nights at the others home. if we're to work together we should have a good relationship." And the other was like a little sister. "We can eat, I'll cook, and watch movies and spend our time on other things." Including discussing the war, sharing information, and trying to unwind from the war as well. It would be time to bond as two who wished to work together and help their wonders - time to strengthen a pact between them and their wonders.

"Nope, they can't even do that." She corrected the other cheerfully. "A corrupted super tried to pull mine and a force blasted her across an alley for trying. My starseed is completely untouchable." She said proudly.
"That would be good for battle and if we ever have to fight around civilians you can protect them with it too." She said with a smile, happy to hear that her ally had such useful magic.
"I agree especially for someone who isn't transcended. The risk of corruption far outweighs any knowledge that could be gleamed from studying." As much as she would like to understand the force she was fighting against, that would require either a willing chaos agent to divulge secrets or she would have to corrupt. The latter was impossible and unwanted even if it wasn't and the former was unlikely to happen.
"I would love that!" Though even as she said it she felt a pang of guilt. It was one thing to call friends brothers or sisters or her second family but it was another to actually live with one of those friends permanently. Would this be a betrayal of her parents, but at the same time she didn't want to say no to Delphi. She would ask for their forgiveness at their graves later.

"That's good, I didn't know they couldn't even touch it." That would help in keeping the other safe, it would keep several members of order safe. It wouldn't keep them from being killed but it would keep some things from happening to them, it would keep them from being corrupted and turning against order - against the good side.
"Yes, at least a few. I haven't used my magic enough to know how long I can hold it for or how many I can protect. I just know it's a shield that I can erect." She answered honestly. She hadn't needed to use it often, didn't get into enough fights to have to use it.
"Yes, we need to keep ourselves from corruption or death. We can't risk the loss of life on our side, or the loss of numbers. Not if we want to win this war and help this city." And that was the goal - right? But then what after that? Was there any idea what to do after that? Did they all just go on living? And if so...what about the mental and emotional damage done, how to get help for it? She knew, logically she knew, that people now could use such help but in the midst of war it was harder to seek it out. But once it was over, when time was easier to come by, then what? Who to go to? What about those of the Negaverse who survived? They surely wouldn't kill them all, not only because they weren't likely to find them all, but they wouldn't wipe them all out - right? Even once the war was over...would people track down the last of the Negaverse and kill them?
"So tonight, my home? Dinner is on me, I really hope you don't mind Russian - it's what I'm best at cooking. And movies, as many as you can stay awake for?" She asked the other smiling and reached over to lightly place a hand on the youngers shoulder. "Perhaps a small patrol first if you like, no officers but perhaps some youma."

"If you want maybe we can test out your magic capabilities back on Hyperborea, I have a training field for that type of thing. And I'm sure it'll get even stronger once you hit knight." She offered.
"I agree, we need to think about the war strategically, feats of heroism are good but if it ultimately only weakens our side then they are pointless. We need to focus on protecting each other and citizens, and convincing chaos agents to purify when we can." She said with a nod of her head as she thought it over. Although if she were being honest with herself she took alot of risks in her fights that could get her killed.
"I'd love to, though next time you need to let me treat you to some french cuisine." She with a smile as she got up summoning her staff to her good hand. "After you mon amie!"
