The weather was certainly warming up quicker then the small black kitten had thought and the warm fluff of her collar seemed so daunting now. She had replaced it for a smaller lace like ribbon for a bit instead, playing with the end of it as it was true to her name.
The nights were boring, and she had yet to find more senshi to upgrade or even awaken. Between the dark mirrors and the corrupted, she had only woke three and upgraded one.
Chaos didn't seem to have a lot of senshi that needed her help? But she was interested in learning about other cats and wondered if Dia would ever introduce her to the kitten that had been there when Lace had been. When they had all gone on their little quest.
Or maybe she could meet a whole new cat?

Helping people was not on Bob's agenda for the evening. In fact, helping anyone else but himself was very low on the priority totem pole - dismally low, in fact - not just for the evening but also at any other point during any other day of the week.
Now helping himself, he was good at that.
In fact, he had helped himself to someone's meal already, making a feast out of a sirloin strip as he loomed atop the restaurant's roof, peering down at the nightlife below. The night was warm and thus the population had determined the temperature fit enough to enjoy outdoors, various food joints around the area opening their outside patios as a result. He'd bided his time and it had paid off - an unfortunate soul had decided to get up and use the facilities just as their food had arrived - perfect timing, in fact.
A quick dash and snatch later and he was enjoying a free meal, one claw moving out to hold down his steak while his mouth dipped down to chew on the juicy side.
It had been nearly a week since his initial move to the city, but dry food sounded unappealing and his human was working late so restlessness won over the large cat. He decided to risk revealing his presence to the city in exchange for dinner out on the town - a decidedly good choice, judging by the meal he'd already scored. Heck, maybe this city wasn't as bad as he'd thought.
It was only after that thought, naturally, that a new presence made itself known to the tom cat. The aura caused a prickle on the hairs of his neck as the familiar feeling crept over him.
Chaos.
Continuing his gnawing, the Maine Coon tore off a piece of beef and chewed it thoughtfully as green eyes searched the area for the aura in question. He wasn't alarmed - yet. This felt more like another Guardian than someone with actual authority...which only created more curiosity.
Eyes finally settled on a black kitten who seemed to be wandering aimlessly, one brow raising itself as he realized he was dealing with a kitten as opposed to a well-seasoned nag of a cat.
Huh.
Rising up from his perch, he bent down to take hold of his prize before making his way down towards the side of the building, hopping down the fire escape and into the alleyway. If he was going to be the one to approach, he wasn't going to make it known to the world that talking cats existed.
Dropping his steak on the bottom grate of the escape, he called out to the kitten.
"Little late to be out for a kid, isn't it?"

Lace startled at the sound of a voice and even more so when she realized it was coming from a much larger cat then herself. The kitten was tiny compared to most, and sleeker but this one was like fluffy and big and ....was...was he eating meat? Where did he get it? Was a it a piece from his latest kill?!?!
She was only mildly relieved that it was chaos instead of order, and unlike Pyewacket, he didn't grate on her senses.
She curled up a little, her ears flattening as she didn't speak at first. Then she scooted closer.
"N...No?" She offered, "I'm...I'm just doing what I ne..need to fo..for the neg..negaverse." her eyes drooped a bit, "Bu...but its hard. There isn't any um...agents around to help."Ghouliboo THIS IS HOW I FEEL AT THE MOMENT

"For the Negaverse, huh?"
His head tilted as he studied the tiny pipsqueak. She seemed a bit on edge, but hell - she looked barely old enough to walk as it was, why wouldn't she be nervous? What was she, four months old? Six?
"What about what you need to do for yourself?"
One paw moved to toss his tie over his shoulder before stooping to grab the steak and hopping down from the landing, onto the nearby dumpster lid and finally, to the ground where the kitten sat. The meat was dropped at her feet, as if he was proudly showing off his "catch".
"I didn't see any agents around willing to help me get this." One paw nudged at the steak, his claw grazing the surface of the cooked meat. "I just know to look out for Numero Uno before I bother with folks who couldn't care less about me."
His tail curled around at his legs, the fluffy tip barely touching the small kitten. "So lemme ask you this, when was the last time you did something to help yourself out? Don't tell me you're one of those goody-goodies who's working all of the time."

"My..Myself?" The kitten peeped out, because she had never really truly thought of herself. Unless you counted all the times she had hid away and stuff.
She looked down at the piece of steak, smelling it and decided that it wasn't as good as the sweets that Dia gave her, or Seraphanite. Sweets were so good.
"B..But..." She stuttered out. It had always been her and Silk, and now she had others depending on her. She couldn't look out for herself...at least she didn't think so....
"I...I'm not...not that?" But she looked away, "But...but I've never taken care...care of myself. I like to hide."

He remained quiet as she spoke, listening intently as she explained herself. The kitten struggled to keep her voice up, the stammer quite notable, just like her avoidance when it came to eye contact. Poor little gal.
"Hiding? Heck, I think that's a perfect way to start lookin' after yourself!"
His tail rose and gently nuzzled the top of the kitten's head, the most affectionate gesture the older cat could muster. "You're on the right track, kiddo. You just need to take it up a notch or two. Give yourself a night off once in a while, that sort of thing."
Bending down, he bit off a corner of the steak and chewed, giving her a grin as he did so. Thankfully his portion size was small, as to avoid some unsightly viewing - even if she was a tiny thing, the gal was still a lady, all the same.
He took a moment, swallowed and then, "If you don't take care of yourself first, how are you going to be okay to take care of others? I mean, tell me, what's something that you like to do?"
Pausing, he shook his head and corrected himself. "No, what's something you like to do that you could do by yourself?"

"You think so? I..I mean I have to hid...hide from Silk all the time! Otherwise he'll....mess with me. Steal from me!" Lace stuttered again, "I'm really...REALLY good at hiding! And...hiding things!!!" It was her most particular skill set after all.
She almost jumped as he nuzzled her head but she instead got super embarrassed and buried her face a little in the puff around her collar, hiding that she was blushing. "n..Night off?"
She tried to think of something she'd like to do....for herself and by herself. She wondered something for herself. She liked shiny things, and she liked sweets, but she couldn't think of something that would truly call out to her.
She had never wanted to do something for herself. "I don't kn...know?" Her ears flattened, "Does that...Does that mean I am a failure?"

He laughed at that, watching her frown and sulk at the realization. Such a young thing and already selling her soul away to an organization who didn't know how to spoil a cat properly.
"Nah, kid. It just means you haven't found the right teacher yet."
His tail twitched again and one paw rose to receive idle licks before moving up to comb back the messy fur between his ears. "But I'll tell you what - stick around with 'ol Bob here and I'll show you how to have some fun. All work and no play makes for a dull cat."
Moving to stand and ignoring the remainder of his steak, he turned towards the alleyway's entrance and with a roll of his shoulder, gestured for her to follow. "What's your name anyways, baby girl?"

"Te...teacher?" Lace squeaked, because there wasn't many guardian cats that weren't already busy with so much going on! She had met some order ones, and they didn't seem to mess with her much, but she wasn't going out of her way to instigate any fights.
However, as she watched Bob, she couldn't help but feel a bit drawn to his teachings. Curious? He made it easy to talk to and she wasn't immediately terrified of him. And he was...
"I can...I can stay and we can be friends?" She squeaked and then immediately trotted after the bigger cat, careful not to trip of her lace tie on her collar. "I don...I don't wanna be dull!" She added, "If I have fun, I can make it f...fun for others right?"
She followed after him, looking back at his now abandoned treat and then to him. "L...L...Lace!" her ears flicked.Ghouliboo It's now canon in my head that Bob's voice is like O'malleys.

" 'Course you can, baby girl," he purred, his tail bobbing in the air as they sauntered their way out of the alleyway. The night was growing darker, the streetlamps flickering on above their heads as he made his way along the sidewalk. "We can make it fun for anyone we want to. That's what cool cats do and you seem like you're a pretty cool kitten to me."
His tie flipped forward, the frayed black silk dragging along the cement as claws clicked their way past a set of cracks. Lace and Silk, eh? Talk about a cleverly named pair - Bob couldn't help but wonder if their mother was still around, if there were a couple of kid Maus wandering around on their own.
"So you and, what was it, Silk? You and Silk out on your own?" Green eyes scanned the area, searching for opportunity for another treat - or trouble, whichever came first. "Or are you shacked up with someone already? You look too polished to be a street kitten. Real proper lady 'n all."
Pixie Nyxie it is done. Same voice as Baloo so that works, considering his personality.

"R..Really?!?!" Lace's ears perked up and she seem to bounce in her step. The encouragement from Bob seemed to help the kitten relax near him and she was feeling much better about being in his presence. She walked next to him, still a bit timidly but at least she wasn't following behind him!
"R..really? Si..Silk says I'm stupid, and boring!" She perked again, "That means he's wrong! Si..Silk says he's never wrong but sometimes he is!" She purred as if delighted that she was validated by someone that wasn't her twin brother.
"We were! Laurelite, the General queen, she found us and made us guardian cats! It hurt a lot." She frowned, "but we can help others. I live with someone!" She gave a shy sort of smile, "He's a captain named Seraphanite. He made me his own room, and he keeps good care of me! When...When we go into fights, he carries me in his pocket, unless its not safe." Lace puffed a bit, "I don't like fights much because I don't want to get anyone hurt." She deflated again, "Be...Being a lady is good right?" Dia was a lady, really pretty and Lace hoped that she was even HALF as pretty as the candy senshi.
"Silk is...um...more like a street kitten, you'd say? He's better at stuff out here then me! Even when he was mean, he'd still protect me more...." She complained about her twin, but without the other she didn't think she'd make it far. "We don't have any other family....." Lace had never thought of parents, because it was only a year ago she was awakened after all. "What about you sir?" Ghouliboo LOL BOTH OF THOSE PERSONALITIES ARE BIG (ps I love the guy who did the voices kfjsdlkfjsdkj so happy for Bob, such a good choice of Voice)

"Being a lady is good. Tramp is the term you want to be avoiding, baby girl." The large Maine Coon kept his pace slow for the small kitten who walked alongside him. The kitten seemed to be quite the fretting type - then again, with a sibling that sounded like a terror of his own, no wonder she'd become a little neurotic about things.
"I'd like to think that the world is big enough for both kinds of cats," he offered, musing aloud. "Nothing wrong with a street cat, nothing wrong with being a pampered, pretty little house cat."
From the sound of things, she'd managed to find herself in the latter category, someone's spruced up little spoiled pet cat. Maybe he'd swing by and check things out at her place later, scope out the details (and the fridge). Nothing like making a few new friends, right?
"I'm new here in town, actually," he admitted, chin still held up as they passed a series of restaurants on their right. No one seemed to be paying any mind to a large cat and their miniature companion, "Still figuring out joints to check out around these parts. You have any favorites yet, little lady?"

"I see! Tramp." That sounded like a bad word anyways, and not something she thought she'd ever wanna be. Thanks to Sera though, it's not like she would be like that, at least she hoped she didn't have to be like that. Since Bob was bigger then her, she did her best to trot next to him and she was surprised when he slowed his pace for her. If it was silk, he would've left her in the dust.
"C..Cause we all ha..have different experiences!" She beamed at him, "Bu...but what about order c..cats? Is there...is there anything wrong with them?" She only knew two other order cats and they..they hadn't been mean to her.
If Bob asked though, Lace would happily take the tomcat to her home and let him see! She didn't think Sera would mind either. Well she hoped he wouldn't. He didn't seem to mind much of what the kitten did, like she could never do wrong in his eyes or something.
"I..I know one!" Lace bounced and then her eyes sparkled, "Do you like pretty ladies? Do you like sweets?" her favorite spot to come to was Dia's candy/sweet shop after all. "An...And I have a park!" With the perfect tree with a hole in the roots where all her treasure were hidden, "I can show you...show you treasures!"

For someone not used to being asked a handful of questions, the larger Mauvian took the inquisition in stride. Whoever had brought her into the world hadn't bothered to warn her much about...well, much about anything and Bob supposed the least he could do would be to help the poor lil thing out.
"Order cats are all hiss and no bite," he laughed, reflecting back on the rare Mau he'd stumbled across back home. "I wouldn't worry about them. It's their senshi that'll try to teach you lies, promise you pretties and adventure if you join their team."
Talk of pretty women and sweets swiftly changed the topic of the conversation, a roguish grin spreading across his face. "I do love both sweets and pretty ladies..."
Showing up with an adorable kitten could work in his favor, actually. Who could say no to a sweet little thing like her? Ergo, who could say no to a slightly less companion cat...like him?
It was perfect.
"Wanna show me your treasures then, baby girl?" The kitten seemed far more enthusiastic about her treasures than sweets, so he'd play along with her for a while. "Sounds like a perfect adventure to me!"

Lace was really glad that he didn't mind all her questions, though she had yet to meet a cat that didn't like them! Cats were haha after all curious creatures! They needed to know all the things!
"They...They do talk a lot!" She nodded, "One...One of them said I was on the wrong side...that I would be better o...on order." she looked up at the bigger cat, "He...He's not right though....I think?" She nodded though, because honestly she had never met an order senshi, mostly cause she tried to avoid them at all cost.
"Y...Yes!!" She veered off, darting through some legs and then through even smaller holes in fences and broken brick walls. "T..This way!" She laid low, looking around. "G..Gotta be careful here! There's always mean...not cats like us." Ones who were territorial of their areas.Ghouliboo Get u some tight spaces Bob
