Zira had managed to get them all the way to the border of Aldas before they were met with guards that seemed to not be letting any Metas' into the city, the borders on a sort of lock down as no one would be let in or out unnoticed. Still not noticed by humans, Zira made her way around the border, looking for a place to settle. Scouting the area, they discovered an abandoned house just outside the borders of the city.
Hexxis dropped down from Zira's back, placing her hand on her wound reflexively as she winced. She walked along side Zira as they walked up to the lone house. She looked into the windows and then moved to the front door and kicked the door in hard. It swung open and she slowly walked in. Zira moved to her side as Hexxis motioned to the bed in one of the bedrooms. She grabbed Ree with strain and was able to get him laid down on the bed. She turned to Zira and stared at her. "You.. have to leave.. don't you?" she asked calmly. Zira merely nodded. Hexxis then stepped forward and hugged the cat-like creature around its neck. "Thank you." Letting go, Zira melded into the floor and disappeared.
Let alone, Hexxis stared down at Ree. She didn't know what to do. He was injured, and so was she. Moving into the kitchen, she searched for a first aid kit. She actually found two but then she didn't know what to do with them. Closing her eyes for a moment she took a deep breath.
When she opened her eyes, her left eyes was now black again, a light red glow around it as she began to running, the thud of her boots across wooden floors as she threw herself to a kneel next to Ree. Having been placed face down for now, she tended to his wings the best she could and bandaged what she could manage to reach. Taking a look at her own wound and then back at him, she sighed.
'Are you okay if I do it?'
'I'll be fine, just do it.'
Ashral nodded and placed her hand into his, resting her head on the side of the bed next to him as she slowly took on his two worst bullet wounds. That should heal him enough to make sure he'd be okay without injuring her too much that she'd put herself in danger. She debated taking one more, but that would be risking it. Ashral decided to wait until tomorrow before trying to take on one more wound if he still wasn't better. She reached her other hand up to move some hair out of his face gently. It was quiet for a while before she closed her eyes and began to sing. ♫ There was once a crow, that shook down one day on me, the dust of winter snow, from a large billowing tree. It gave my sad heart, an odd change of mood, and saved some dark part, of a day I had once rued. ♫

Who was singing? the song was melodious and soft, he...just....wan- Slowly Ree opened his eyes, dull blue light barely glowed as he focused on the person in front of him as memory took a second or two before rushing back in. No! eye-widen as he moved to push off, only to close his hands around the smaller set already in his hand. He clenched her hands within his own and took a deep breath before lowering back down, his wounds hurting painfully but he was already breathing and pushing it away just to function while at the same time pulling in his intimidation aura in again.
A room with a window, this was not a cell. Taking a deep breath he let it out again slowly looking at Hexxis. "Hexxis?" he said softly, his voice sounding scratchy while activated his own healing power, almost sending it to her before pushing it to him. Ashral hadn't noticed the glowing as she kept singing. She felt him move as she opened her eyes but didn't flinch. His hand tightened on hers and her eyes softened, reciprocating the grasp of his hand, tightening hers just a bit. Then he spoke. Her name. Ashral loosened her grip on Ree, and she suddenly moved to stand, looking away, her face a little pained as she winced from the pain of her new wounds. "She's asleep." she replied bluntly then moved to the first aid kit to pull out more bandages. She didn't want to look at Ree at the moment, as she began to bandage up her newer wounds, having a bit of difficultly with the one on her upper right side. She sighed and sat on the floor to get a better concentration on what she was doing. She began to softly hum to herself, trying to keep her mind off the pain.

Ree had a hint of regret on his face as she pulled away but made no move to stop her as she left. "I see.." his voice sounded a little cold but he was laying back down on his stomach.
Taking a second or two he turned and pushing himself up to a sitting position in one go, clenching his teeth as wounds protested and reopened only to be soaked up by the bandages that had been placed on his wings. Bandage? a flicker of surprised cross his face as he looked at Ashral's work. "...." he looked up at Ashral quietly thinking before looking at the rest of the room as if confirming they weren't back at the base or any of the ...rooms below.
His face drew in pain as he got to his feet, letting his wings drag behind him as he moved to Ashral and knelt down by her. A small part of his mind noticing the lack of wound that should have been there and was now mirrored on Ashral.
"♫There was once a crow, that shook down on me, the dust of winter....♫" he said softly trailing off at the part he could not remember while taking the bandage from her. "Thank you" he said sincerely as he held the gauze in his hand. "Transfer them to me....i'll heal myself in the next day or so, if you think we are safe. What happened?" he asked in a soft whisper a small part of his mind still in a haze as he forced himself not to think about what had happened only to focus on keeping himself relax and what Ashral had to say.

She listened to his movement, his strain as every moved muscle gave her a mental picture so she didn't need to look at him. It wasn't until he knelt down to her and began to sing the song she was singing earlier that she suddenly looked at him, staring into his eyes, her own filled with curiosity and a sense of longing. As he then began to speak, she blinked and averted her eyes again, almost embarrassed at herself for staring in the first place. "It's fine.. I don't want you getting hurt more.." she insisted, worried for his health if she were to give back the wounds to him. Yeah, the wounds hurt but she could bear it for now until it was enough for Hexxis to tolerate. Ashral shifted uneasily on the floor. "They were attacked, Hexxis was shot and I killed two people in defense. After that they tranquilized Leukos and I carried him the rest of the way downstairs. That's when we ran into Asriel and Kae. I gave Leukos to Melody and kept moving on my own. They were not going to make it at that rate. Kae and I fought sword to sword. Eventually Hexxis decided to fight and she ran the rest of the way to the gate. Once there, Zira was waiting for us with your unconscious body." she paused, frowning at the memory of seeing his bloody body limp over the nekomata's body. "Zira took us to Aldas but we can't get in. The borders are closed. So we found a house. Zira had to leave and now it's just us." she finished explaining. "We are safe." she then added, making sure he knew she was confident how secluded they were in what seemed to be an abandoned hideout of some sort. She hesitated a moment and kept her eyes averted. "..I... I didn't think you could hear me..." she commented suddenly about the song she was singing, not realizing he was awake enough to hear it at all.

Ree blinked back at her tiredly, wondering if he had misstep trying to sing the song but she didn't look angry..murderous or enraged. Just curious and something else he wasn't sure of.
As she spoke he look down at the gauze in his hand then the first aid kit near her, pulling it closer. A flash of deep pain crossed his face as she mentioned killing two people, it was defense...Ashral would have done it anyways but it still didn't change the fact that this shouldn't have happened either the deaths or Hexxis getting hurt. That he should have moved around this differently, waited longer and tried to contact Kae... Or rested a day or two then taunted them to use Hexxis and went to look for Tri and Mara who could pull out Melody and Leukos. Or anything else...Post sight was perfect as usual.
"Kae? And Zira...." He let a very faint smile touch his face through the guilt and pain, it faded a second later unable to be sustained. Kae fought sword to sword with Ashral? Kae really must be really good to go toe to toe with her until Hexxis ran, something he was not going to comment with present company. Zira's actions also said that either she or Kae didn't think they were responsible for what happened at parley? He had no idea, it was just one big mess other than he was sure he didn't kill (Criel) and he misstep badly again only this time those people weren't coming back from the dead.
Hm, Modified first aid kit. There were a few things he was pretty sure first aid kits normally didn't bring with them. Looking back at her now he glanced toward the wounds, wanting to force the issue and have it sent back to him so he could heal it but at the same time... Everything felt so ..tenuous as if life, the world, etc could end at any moment. It was an odd feeling. ((Singularity: 1 left. (overdose(tranq),bloodloss:during trip. Unconscious activation of heal))
He was also so tired, not sure how long he could keep a partial trance he had going before he just curled up into a pained, emotional and physical, partially concious ball somewhere on the floor. That was what he was trying not to do now, not in front of Ashral.
"Sorry, I woke up with it in my head. I won't sing it again if you mind " he said quietly pulling out a glue like canister from the kit "pain" he warned dully and waited encase she stopped him before attempting to grab the edges of the bleeding wound and dripping the glue on it before waiting.

Ashral watched him carefully, noticing his weakness and pain. Even though he had asked for the wounds back, she would not allow it. She promised to protect him, which included letting him do something so stupid to likely get himself killed. Though, it was a wonder he was even still alive now with the injuries he had sustained before she was able to take some. As he seemed to question about Kae and Zira. "I'm not sure, but it seems they were on our side. At least Zira was. Kae, I'm not so sure. She used a high authorization code to prevent me from trying to hurt her or others and then fought me with her full strength. I didn't know she could summon a two-handed sword. It's slower but it gets the job done, I suppose." she was talking calmly, her eyes had drifted the floor as she spoke.
She slid her eyes to him, looking him over, seeing the pain flickering below the surface of his expression. "I can afford to take another wound if it helps... I would be fine." she offered, even though she knew he would never take it, he would be too concerned about her to let that happen, but she still offered it anyway with the chance he might surprise her.
Her eyes focused on his hands as he retrieved some kind of glue kit, she allowed him to use it on her, wincing hard as he grabbed at the wound, lowering her head enough to rest on his arm, just trying to bear the pain for the time being. "..It's... okay." she spoke softly. "I don't mind you singing it... It's kind of fitting.. in a weird way." she added, closing her eyes for a moment. ♫ There was once a cat, that spoke to me one day, we had quite a nice chat, about the chaos and disarray. It gave my soul a reason, to find a way to keep moving, to find a place called Eden, where the flowers were always blooming. ♫ As she sang, she lifted her head slowly, looking him in the eyes, her expression soft, the faintest smile on her lips.

"....She's ooolldd. I didn't know she could do that either " he said quietly trying to smile but it looked more like a grimace as he finally let go, checking the wound before finally wrapping it up in a gauze and moving to the next one.
"I can afford to take another wound if it helps... I would be fine."
This time he looked up and frowned disapproving "Yea...lets say you did but lets not. " this time there was a bare hint of a smirk as he looked back down, only realizing he should have offered her something to bite on as she rested her head against his arm ."Sorry " he said unnecessarily but still feeling it as he reached and grabbed a second gauze with his clean fingers and moved to offer it to her only to stop as she started singing.
He paused to listen, the glow of his eyes strengthening a little as he laughed with a pain look. Finally he looked down at her smiling " Mrrr...mrrow?" he lowered his head automatically and gently touched heads with her, just wanting to on a whim before he pulled back and turned to look at the wound, feeling woozy."I like that song, is that part of the first?" he kept on smiling but it was less by second as he took the wound and pinched it and did the same between the pause and his question, automatically lifting a wing to rest it against her bracing.
Only then did he let his gaze wander looking for another wound before stopping on the inhibitors and paling. "SH**......How long was I out since we arrive?" he motioned to her inhibitor, his mind trying to wake up at the surge of adrenaline spiked through him.

Ashral's smile grew slightly as he talked of Kae briefly. "She might be old enough to have been around when I was still alive..." she commented off-handedly. Her smile faded as he seemed to grimace. Was he still hurt? Were there more wounds that she hadn't found when bandaging him earlier? Her mind was beginning to race as his apology snapped her back to reality. "..it's fine.. I can handle it." she responded in a low tone. "I'm not a child... so I can handle more than she can.." she added, as she looked away for a moment.
She looked at him in the eyes once more a genuine smile creeping onto her face as he made cat noises. She closed her eyes as his head gently touched hers, she felt calm for some reason but her heart was racing. He pulled back again as she looked at him with a flat but curious expression. She nodded as he asked about the song. "It's the second verse of the song. There's three in total." she blinked with a bit of sadness in her eyes as she looked away. "My brother taught it to me. I guess, it was kind of a secret between us. Only we knew it." she forced a pained smile for a glimmer of a moment before she cleared her throat a bit and looked to the floor.
She winced again hard as he pinched the second wound, shoving her head back down to rest on his arm to try to bear the pain again. Once it was over, she exhaled shakily to regain composure. He looked at her with a sudden surprise as he mentioned the inhibitor. Moving a hand to touch it, she looked to Ree. "Kae put it on her the morning of when you came for us. As for how long we've been here in this place, almost two days." she answered, looking at him with a hint of concern, then realized what was wrong. "s**t..." she cursed as she reached up to the collar and placed a hand on it, using her curse ability to short out the tracking device on it and effectively turn it off. She wasn't physically strong enough to remove it by force, but at least this way they could keep off the radar. She sighed, "Even if they tracked us...It'll be a while before they can get here... we likely have some down time." she commented. "And if they come, I will protect you." she stated in a matter of fact.
"...for now.. let's just rest." she suggested and leaned forward to rest her head against his arm tiredly. She sighed again then began to sing again, her voice soft and calm. ♫ There was once a dog, who walked to a lonely place, covered with a haze of fog, he fell too far from grace. He sat quietly alone, no one to share his guilt, he fell away to dust and bone, in the grave his remorse built. ♫

"Even if they tracked us...It'll be a while before they can get here... we likely have some down time. And if they come, I will protect you."
Trying to calm down now was almost out of the question as his mind raced with what she said after her collar sparked. Two days? .... They have been here two days with the tracker up and no one had reached them by either ground or air? That didn't sound right, they would have sent all of the armor units after them unless they were still recovering from Parley. They possibly had the place watched for now as they figured out what to do with a "traitor" and a malice.
Even if they did...then what? They both had to rest, neither of them was exactly in any condition to start a fight. he just hated the idea of waiting to be attacked without a more defensible area or even a plan other than fight back. But if that happened...he'll order Ashral to just go. Criel would likely want him alive preferably to make an example of...even if his dead body would amount to the same. Ashral...Hexxis, they would want their weapon back and they could take her back. She would defend but they knew her weakness and staying would just insure she gets captured.
Letting out a slow breath he fixed on that plan without telling her anything. If she was anything similar to Tri, he knew how she was would react to that and it wouldn't be good.
Taking a closer glance at her, looking for more wounds, he eventually put the glue kit back into the first aid and closed it tiredly blinking as she started to sing. Focusing on the new verse he carefully more one of his non-injured wings around her while slowly pulling the other over him. an impromptu blanket.
He frowned as he listened, this one was not as nice as the first two as he tried to bring up what she said before the realization of the collar. Old enough to have known Kae with a brother long dead who taught her the song. He wondered if is she noticed that he had forgotten what she was. A malice yes, but the word itself and its concoctions had been lost to him until this moment since waking. Currently he didn't even feel like he could bring up the will to look suspicious and why should he, actions spoke louder than words.
"Don't be the dog" he muttered softly, wishing for a moment he had the extra energy to spare and summon the cat, it would have been fitting and he ..would have liked to see her smile again. "Be the cat...cats are better anyways?" he tried to flash her a slight smile "or the crow, they like to play tricks...like dropping acorns on people heads as well as snow. Or chasing you in a flock if you fly to close to their nest" he sigh softly, grabbing on to the two more hopeful verses, because the dog staying in one place with no one to talk to, no one to unburden on and dying with all that guilt was just sad. The first two were about movement and hope, even if he was very partial to the cat one. Due to it being the more light one out of the three and the fact Ashral had smiled, without it being a dark I-am-going-to-dance-in-your-blood type one either. A smile, a genuine one as far as he could tell. He was almost sure Kae would have told him something negative about it too. He wasn't even trying ... he was just reacting.
"Rest then but....do you mind if I try learning the song?" he said softly, not sure how she would take that. She did say it was something between her and her brother, it was almost like butting in but at the moment his mind was wide awake while his body just wanted to curl up and sleep through the pain and weakness.

Ashral slowly moved toward him, hesitating slightly as if reluctant to let her guard down to him as she moved to sit next to him, leaning against him as she looked to the floor. "Maybe there was a time when I was the dog... a very long time ago... but maybe I am the cat now... just looking for something.." she paused, narrowing her eyes in sadness. "..maybe I'm still looking for him deep down.." she closed her eyes again and took another deep breath, wincing slightly at the pain.
She opened her eyes and looked at him with even more curiosity, her face softened into a smile, as though she might have been genuinely happy that he had asked. "...I'll teach it to you." she offered as she then rested her head on him again. She began to sing each piece a bit more slowly this time, pausing after each verse for him to repeat and learn the song.
"The song is very special to me... I guess you are too now." she spoke softly without warning. Pausing with slightly hesitation, she shifted her eyes off into the bedroom, as if slightly embarrassed she even said it. "I...uhm.... " she blinked trying to figure out what to say. "...sorry." she whispered and closed her eyes and just sighed, giving up on trying to explain herself. She just continued to hum the song to herself, as tears threatened to force their way, building up at the corners of her eyes. After a few moments, she seemed to look mad about something as she forced herself to a painful stand without a word, and went into the kitchen to look for something.

"Maybe there was a time when I was the dog... a very long time ago... but maybe I am the cat now... just looking for something...maybe I'm still looking for him deep down.."
Then they both were the cat or the person it talked too, looking for something that might not be there but hoping it is and that they'll find it. The light dimmed in his eyes as the memory of cat-like green eyes stared back at him, a whisper of a memory that appeared and was gone, leaving the feeling of sadness and failure in its wake. He closed his own eyes and took a slow deep breath..darn it.
Opening his eyes again he focus on Ashral, intent on asking her about her brother and the reason she was still searching when he meet her gaze. She looked happy again, genuinely happy. He could only nod and look away, looking faintly embaressed that his request to learn such a private song made her so happy. Slowly he sang back the lyrics at each pause, memorizing it in the same way he would memorize important document he would need to repeat.
"The song is very special to me...I guess you are too now."
He was relaxing as he sang, opening his eyes again as they reached the final verse and he was already repeating it in his head to see if he had everything when her comment and apology made him blink in suprise. Glancing down at her he watched her stare off into the rest of the room with confusion. Was it because he agreed to the deal? Would she had eventually warmed up to Tri if he had accepted as well? A flicker of anger rose up at that thought but eventually dissipated just as quickly. He didn't know and that wasn't the point right now.
Taking a breath to respond he paused and released it watching her get up seemingly angry and just leave. He made no movement to stop her other than to lean his head back against the wall behind him and close his eyes with a breathy sigh. Great.

Ashral had moved into the kitchen, opening the fridge hoping something would be there, but it was empty. She stood there for a few moments, trying to collect her thoughts about what she was feeling. "Idiot... he's not Shogu..." she mumbled to herself as she placed a hand on her head like nursing a headache as she winced a bit. Shaking the thought, she then moved to the pantry and was surprised to see it was quite fully stocked with canned goods and other non-perishable dry foods. It looked like this place was actually intended to be a hideout or something. She grabbed a can of prepared ravioli and then moved to the side to open drawers looking for something to open it, finding a butcher knife, she set the can on the floor and began to stab the top repeatedly, getting the orange sauce everywhere. She stabbed into it with frustration as it really wasn't helping get it open and only making a big mess. She sighed within her sadness as tears threatened her eyes again. She put both her hands on her head this time, one open palm and the clutched knife resting against the other side of her head. "...stop stop stop..." she exhaled shakily, trying to concentrate. "...he's not your brother, so stop it... he's just some guy that's standing in the way.... i'll..... just.... take care of him later... after the contract.. yeah....." she shook her head again. "...but... what if .... I don't..... Ahhhh dammit." she rubbed her open hand against her head in frustration then stood up, putting the dirty knife on the counter and leaving everything where it was as she moved back to the pantry and looked around again. She spotted a large bag of beef jerky and grabbed that haphazardly like she was annoyed by now. Then she walked back into the bedroom, orange sauce splattered on her face from her earlier escapade and she stopped in front of Ree, just standing there. She was quiet, a solemn but troubled expression on her face as she extended her arm to hand him the bag. "..I can't cook..." she commented bluntly as she waited for him to take the bag.

Ree was wide awake, listening with a hush breath at the sound of metal on metal and Ashral's quiet voice sounding troubled as she talked to herself. Her brother...that he was not her brother, was he that similiar? Is that who she was looking for? And if so why?
Wings shifted painfully closer to him as he heard footsteps coming back to the room, readying his telekinetic ability just enc-" ....." He stared at Ashral holding out a bag of beef jerky to him with splashes of some kind of sauce all over her face and stared. He was just going to be serious on the matter, but maybe he started to shaky a little...perhaps his mouth had lifted slightly at the corners and was exhaling a little to rhythmically . No ...no of course he was not laughing at her nope ......yep yep he was. Now, death by beef jerky in the eye.
The glow in his eyes rose dramatically as he tried to get up while laughing so at least he didn't give her the upper hand."S-sorry...there is ...food?" He grinned painfully , moving to hold one of the wounds with a free hand while looking at the bag. It took him a few more tries before he got it under control. "Save those...we will need them when leaving but we can at least eat one now as we figure out what to clob together" feeling better much better, with food he can use his healing ability without worry about cannibalizing himself.
A quick glance in the kitchen's direction saw more of the same sauce ,that decorated Ashral, on the floor all around a heavily bent can. RIP pooooor unfortunate can ♫.

She stared at him with an angered face as he began to laugh. This wasn't some kind of game. They were in a serious situation, but yet his laugh filled her with a sense of quiet relief. Why? She didn't understand. Or maybe it was because he reminded her of... No. He's simply not. The sooner she understood that, the better. Or so she was thinking. Her face shifted into something of a disheartened expression, her emotions were turbulent by now as she felt angry, almost to the point of uncontrollable rage, but she also felt hopeful for the future... whatever future that would be.
She didn't look at him. "W-we're not friends. Stop laughing at me." she half-demanded, a twinge of irritation and embarrassment in her voice. "Or did you forget what I am." she seemed defensive but didn't look like she really meant it. She frowned, sighing slightly as she walked back out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, kicking over the butchered can a bit as she walked by it. "There's a bunch of dry foods in the pantry. I.... I've never had to cook before... My brother.. he... well.. he brought me food, didn't ever see him cook or anything.." she shifted her eyes away defensively and crossed her arms. "...not that I could see anything at all from where I lived..." she mumbled under her breath. "I'm tired of talking about me. What about you? It's only fair that you tell me stuff about you." she suddenly questioned, trying to divert away from herself for the time being as she tried to collect herself, wiping her face of what was almost tears in her eyes as she looked away in pain.
