Lara and Cerby were on their lunch break. Since it was a shared lunch break, they were walking in a large circle around the quad while Lara worked her way through the remnants of a fairly sizeable burrito. It would've continued to be a nice lunch break if Cerby hadn't stopped suddenly, too. Soon enough, she was reaching up to tap Falco on the shoulder. "Excuse me," she said, "May I talk to you for a moment?"

Falco jumped a bit, nearly dropping his sandwich, definitely dropping the copy of Ghosts of New England he was still trying tediously to get through, and then tried to look as free of guilt as possible. He wasn't sure what he might have done so he figured chances were... at least plausible that in this instance he hadn't. Maybe. Possibly. "M'am?" OK let's see. Wasn't in her class. Didn't think he'd gotten in a... scuffle... with anyone she knew. Who had he last gotten in a fight with?? Well. Other than verbal. "I mean. Um. Sure. Go for it... M'am." What's up?"

"Lara," she corrects. "You're not my student, so you can call me Lara." She smiles, just a little. "I actually have a weird question to ask you. Have you been... seeing things oddly, lately? Differently than how you're used to seeing them?"

....Oh. Well that was... Not remotely what he was expecting; and he was unsure if there was a right answer. "I..." He floundered; feeling like he was about to get asked to give "samples" or the like. Or find out there was some terrifying toxin behind everything. "...s-orrrrrrt of?" He offered up, warily. "Like... Things look... Sharper and ... Like... Smells seem... More intense but you know it's... It's just boredom or maybe I need glasses or... " He didn't know. He had no answers. He didn't think being whatever sighted worked that way and he didn't think you developed super sniffer skills as an adult.

"I get it, too," she assures him. "Um. Not sharper vision, but sharper smells? It's perfectly natural." She holds out a business card. "I'm trying to get us all together at Blackfriars on the 24th. Will you consider coming?"

Reactions continued to not be at all what he expected, and he blinked, taking the card and glancing at it briefly. "I... sure? I mean... I'm obviously a little past the whole 'your body is undergoing -changes- spiel..." At least the normal one. .... Oh god he was starting to sound like Gwen. "So there's... other people...." He didn't finish the sentence, but he hoped she'd bite enough to give him a little more information. 'perfectly natural'. So was nightshade and that would eff you up too.

"Who can warg," says Lara, with a confirming nod. "I'm calling it that, anyway. Like the Game of Thrones thing, right?"

Falco opened his mouth, shut it again, blinked several times and tried again. "I..." Nope. Not quite it. "...Like... the... really really fictional Game of Thrones." He reiterated, with emphasis on the word fictional. "I mean... I... you're pulling my leg right? This is like some kind of weird test to see what we'll do?" He kind of wanted it to be. He kind of needed it to be because holy crap he didn't even watch the show, he kind of knew what she was talking about because it was all the frig over the internet but this stuff was...
... was superstition and urban legends and residual social guilt over historical murders or something.
Oh God. Did this kind of thing run in families? Did his dad have it? His mom? His grandma or uncle??? Why was he even considering the heredity of a fictional creature.

Lara shakes her head. "Not so fictional, I guess," she says. "It's okay if you don't believe me, but... please come, okay?"

"Um. Yeah... Yeah I'll go." It was insane. But he really really really had to know, even if it was just a wind up to an enormous joke.

Lara smiles. "Lovely! That's just lovely. Call me if you have any problems, okay? The number's on the card."

"Yeah... yeah definitely." He wasn't sure what kind of ... problems... might arise based on what had happened so far... but then again... he wasn't sure he wanted to know. Maybe he should look into watching that show after all... Either way... he was holding onto that card.
