I come to this guild far too infrequently, it is wonderful.
The meaning of the word 'philosopher' is 'lover of knowledge.'
Philo = lover of (think of the end of '*****' and you'll see it) Sophos = Greek for knowledge
What's interesting about this is that the Greeks thought that it was best for a person to be a philosopher. Kings were supposed to be philosophers.
What we can take from this is that the Greeks, a very smart and admirable people, thought that it was perfectly acceptable to pursue something you love as a life goal. It just so happens that knowledge is one of the best things to pursue, for the Greeks.
Maybe not for you though.
So, it is perfectly acceptable to pursue happiness and whatever you love. Man, doesn't that just take the pressure off when thinking about what to do with your life?

Yeah.. A life of a persuit of knowlege. That would be ideal. But again, the bills would pile up and the electricity shut off, and of course, no acess to the internet. So in the end, if you enjoy sitting in libraries that smell like bum piss, and sitting on the side of a road with a sign and an empty starbucks coffee mug, then I suppose that would be...interesting. Though slightly impractical. But it makes you think how it would work. Anyways, I'm getting off topic.
It would be wonderful to just completely forget about all other things and go into something that you love, free of costs. I, being who I am, would buy all the books in the world and sit inside, reading for the rest of my life happy just to be with that many books at once. I mean, I wouldn't be able to read all of them, but I could sure try. Oh! And learning how to bind them all by hand? Ahh!! That would be fun! Er... *cough* Yeah... The Greek culture is facinating, ain't it?
