Lawrence didn't know if Horace would show up for a spar but he felt like one an the other man was one of those familiar both with Butch and his fighting style. So he invited him, sending him a text stating that he'd be at the training fields regardless and he could show up if he wanted.
He was dressed in his usual expendable sparring clothes and was in his favoured quiet end of the fields. It was late in the evening and veering into night time and as always in melodramatic fashion he was also wearing a mission cloak, liking the anonymity of the garb and also wanting to be proficient always in fighting dressed that way.
He waited with the level of patience he was only capable of when pursuing something he wanted to see if the other man would show up.

Horace strolled out onto the field, apprehension singing in his muscles. fighting with Lawrence always brought back feelings that he'd rather not acknowledge, but he couldn't deny that he liked the fight. As expected, Lawrence was already there, mission cloak and all. Like some kinda dramatic magician. He might have found it kind of endearing if he let himself. "Hey," he said, feeling Jannisari shift into being on his arms. "Why the sudden urge for a spar?"

"I wanted to see if fighting might help."
He summoned, Butch now reaching all the way to his shoulders.

He didn't hesitate long, never one to restrain impulses, Horace was there and he had Jannisari summoned so it was time to begin.
Less prone to fainting now, healthier and better fed, he closed the distance quickly and swiped with the long blue talons at the other man.
"Thank you for coming out." he purred.

Horace inhaled a sharp breath that came back out in a shudder as Lawrence swiped the talons across his skin. It hurt, sure, but wasn't pain a part of it? Seeing Butch again, seeing how different the weapon was... it was frightening, a little, and his muscles tensed against that familiar ache. His breath quickened, his pupils dilated and he shambled forward a bit and stopped, seemingly bewildered a bit, r maybe distracted. "I.. uh, okay." He needed a moment. "I see Butch got bigger." Lawr nodded, giving Horace a little flick with a very very long index finger claw.
"Yes. Apparently." he said. "Quite a bit."
"The one good thing which came out of my run in in that mine."

He flinched back from the singular claw. "I-I see that." He took a deep breath and moved forward, trying to be his usual, more fluid self. His hands reached out, catching in Lawr's cloak and dragging him closer. "Do you like it?" Horace held him there for a brief moment before releasing. He knew Lawr would twist out like a snake shortly, anyway. HP: 39/50 DMG: 8 CHG:1/3

Lawrence smirked as he was pulled closer, too light in stature to prevent it. Up close there was the temptation to use the chains attached to the claws but he resisted just for now.
"Like what?" he said as Horace let him go. "Being stronger? I'm a pacifist Horace." And he drove his talons into the other man's shield, establishing just how much a pacifist he was.

"That... doesn't feel very pacifist, Lawrence." But if Horace was honest, the pain felt good, sharp. It cut through the foggy haze his mind had been in. Horace twisted away and pressed a hand against where the talons had penetrated into his shield. He moved again, trying to hook his ankle around Lawr's, and sending his blade scoring up the man's side. HP: 34/50 DMG: 7 CHG:1/3

"Careful of the merchandise." Lawrence crooned at Horace as he dug his blade into his shield.
"And mmmaybe." he said. "But I am still a pacifist, just one with a few issues to deal with at present. Besides, who bar you have seen me fight? Certainly not many."

"But you haven't-" He dug his blade deeper into Lawr's shield, imagining it stretching around the bone-like edge. "-been very careful with my own merchandise." "Oh I don't know." he said. "I think I've been very careful with yours, very many times. I've made you fancy and even more attractive with my careful hands."
The pain did make him smile faintly. "It helps a little, yes." Another almost affectionate little swipe. "I like a bit of pain now and then."

" Fancy?" He grit his teeth together for a moment. "I've never really been into the use of negative space on a piece." Horace was so thrown off by the statement that his swing went wide. This... this wasn't better- missing a finger, having a circle carved into his chest. Any beautification was something Horace did, afterwards surely. "Do you think you finished the job, then?" When Lawrence said 'barring angel', Horace snorted so loudly he almost choked. He figured it damn sure wasn't Taym that Lawrence was talking about. "I don't think it's beautiful. And, out of everyone, only you do." It was kind of funny how the one man he couldn't be near was the one who found Horace's ******** up body beautiful. He knew it was because it had been by Lawrence's hand. By any other, and Lawrence either wouldn't give two shits or label him as imperfect and unworthy. Which he kind of already did. Horace struck out, digging the spikes on his knuckles into Lawrence's flesh and dragging. HP: 31/50 DMG: 8 CHG: 3/3
