The last glimmer of daylight, where the sun no longer shown but the skies still clung to its memory, washed the city in deep shadows and silhouettes. It was a time when all seemed so still and quiet, save to those who knew better. There had been a time when he, too, were so unassuming. A time when he did not know the war that plagued the city of Destiny. Boom. A building shook. Deep within the city, in one of the many alleys a monster - Youma - crashed into the a brick wall. Behind it, a Page sporting the symbol of Polaris and long pale blonde hair held a make-shift weapon - a metal pole, presumably found on the ground. Maybe near the trash bin? "Firo, ulunn!" (Die, hideous creature!) he shouted with a growl as the beast, snakelike in it's appearance, drew back from the wall it had crashed in to and shook its massive head. The creature appeared to be mostly head. The rest of it's snake-like body, which seemed to float, was shrouded in a dark cloud charged with sparks. Bearings gathered, it spat a hiss at the page and lunged again. He leapt, kicked off the wall, on to the lid of the trash bin where he turned the face the creature which had once again slammed it's clumsy over-sized head on the ground. He took this opportunity and leapt down onto the Youma and speared the metal pole through it's head. The creature was dead, but in one final attack, all the electricity that it had charged into it's clouded body went into the pole and sent out a shockwave, throwing the page, and Youma Dust, to the edge of the alleyway where the flight from a street lamp finally flickered on to help illuminate the scene. "Namaarie." (Farewell) He said under his breath as he stood and brushed himself off. DaisyMilk Reply at your leisure <333

Alleyways were hardly where Orcus preferred to spend her time patrolling, but she couldn't deny that the city's decreasing homeless population was a rather easy target for energy gathering. She'd just called back her wraith when an echoing shout caught her nerly undivided attention.
"Elvish?" she was startled into blurting out loud. Someone in this idiot town (other than herself) knew Elvish? Thinking quickly, she tucked the mirror shard back into it's small bag and hurried in the direction that she thought she'd heard the shout come from.
Darting across rooftops, she finally felt the auras of someone Order aligned and something... well, nasty. Then, as quickly as she'd felt them, she felt a shockwave and stumbled. Reaching the edge of the roof, Orcus glanced down, spying what could only be a knight in the act of brushing himself off under the soft glow of a streetlight.
Jumping down from her perch the diminutive Dark Mirror landed lightly and approached cautiously. Normally, she'd have attempted stealth, but she was curious. Besides, if that shockwave was the result of what she suspected, this person would hopefully be too tired to try to rough her up.
"Mae g'ovannen (Well met)."

Sintashta had just turned to leave when he felt the power signature - an odd type of chaos he had never felt before. He had initially hoped it was someone just passing through, that they would ignore him, but then came the sound of feet touching pavement and a greeting. He turned to face that voice and odd energy with slightly widened ice blue eyes, portraying his surprise. "Aaye, (Hail)" Sintashta spoke after a momentary pause, "Essenya Sintashta ná. (I am Sintashta.) Ar nálye? (and you are?)" As he spoke, Sintashta tried to figure out this Chaos signature. It was not like the signatures of Agents or Corrupted Senshi that he had...had the misfortune to come across, but it was undeniably not Order. Never the less, she wasn't outright attacking him, so that was something. Still, he wasn't getting too relaxed. Even if this woman had great taste in fandoms.

Well, well. Orcus mouth twitched slightly as a pleased smile tried to make itself seen. Moving slowly and keeping at a polite distance, the dark mirror paced, quietly sizing the knight up. Finally, she went still and allowed herself a satisfied nod.
"Orcus. I must say, I never expected to meet anyone else with such good taste in this town. Particularly on the opposite side of the battle line."
Deciding that it was safe enough for now, she moved a bit closer, staring up at his face and hair. By some cosmic quirk, Sintashta's get-up already looked rather elvish. Orcus was considering the cosplay opportunities and smiled.
"Ah, you'd be the crowning piece at the faire with a bit of jewelry and a little less fur. I'm assuming that's fur on your gloves and such? Or is it wool? Could go either way, I guess. I think I actually have a circlet that'd fit you."
For a moment, she let herself dress him up mentally and then shook her head. Of course, someone who could completely appreciate Tolkien with her was one of the damned White Moon. Of course.
Sigh.

Orcus. Noted. "I can't say I've met enough people to be able to make a proper assessment," Sintashta flashed a bit of a bemused grin. shifting into a bit more comfortable body language. Though he couldn't say he'd met anyone, powered life or otherwise, who was as much the fanboy as he was. Not even in the medieval reenactment group he was in - actually most of them got all holier-than-thou, thinking themselves superior for adhering to reality, and looked down on those who idolized the fantasy. It was a source of contention that wasn't as prevalent in the faire crowd. "Actually, I do partake in the Ren Faire," He said, not wanting to give much more identifying information than that. Jousting and smithing demonstrations would whittle down the candidates of 'who are you really' too much. "And you, worker or guest?" It would be interesting if she did work in the faire, too. He doubted it though, because surely someone else who could speak elvish he would remember.

Eyes twinkling with amusement, Orcus momentarily cursed her lack of height. She would have to be carefully vague given that there weren't many women her size who frequented the faires.
"Both as convention schedules permit," she said, figuring that much information was safe enough. "I'm afraid that the crowd I typically run amok with tend to look askance if I try to liven things up with a bit of elvish. So, I don't really bother anymore."
A harmless lie there as she usually attended alone and in armor. Let this knight thinking she enjoyed dressing up as a harmless Lady or wench. It would muddy the waters and make her identity that much safer. And speaking of identities.
"Well, I certainly don't recognize your symbols, though I assume you are, in fact, a knight of the White Moon? I've met a Cosmos knight, though your style doesn't quite mesh up with hers."
A faint grin flickered across Orcus' face.
"After all, it's only polite to provide full introductions since we seem to be having a bit of a truce."

That seemed like a fair reply. They both had identities to protect, after all. Her size would be a unique trait. Hmmm...not tiny, just hobbit-sized. "Ah, my apologies. I haven't often come across anyone who would sooner talk than kill me." Of course this could have been a talk then kill situation, but it would be a pity to kill, or be killed, by a kindred spirit. He was placing quite a bit of faith in that. Stupid, probably misplaced, faith. "Indeed," he nodded, "I am a Knight, well Page for now. I serve Polaris, of Magnetism," Sintashta would not comment on the current absence of his princess. It would be stupid to give someone on the other side that information. It was a worry though, in the back of his mind. "You don't seem like your run-of-the-mill corrupt senshi. What are you?" In his crash course with Polaris and her other knights, they hadn't covered much more than the basics; Order and Chaos. It really seemed like more of a 'learn on the go' gig.

With arms crossed and finger tapping around her elbow, Orcus considered this and then shrugged.
"Never heard of her, but then, I'd never heard of Cosmos before either. Still interesting though."
Sintashta's question caused her to nod in faint approval. At least this one was capable of noticing that she wasn't a mere corrupted. It was kind of nice, overall.
"Dark Mirror. Personally, I'd say we're far superior to what the Negaverse spits out. We're certainly less creepy-as-hell."
She wasn't inclined to volunteer further information, though of course, she'd answer as truthfully as she could if asked. Unless this knight started to get nosy. Then she would simply not answer.

Being the scholar he was, Sintashta loved research, so he was definitely taking mental notes, but he liked to learn as much as he could on his own before ripping other's for information - at least he could seem more educated on the matter that way. He did hate looking a fool, after all. So he'd leave the subject at that. "Quite a bit more for me to learn, I see. Well, I'm not one to shy away from education, even if it does seem to blur the lines, more and more. This war is so gray," he shook his head. Being a history major he was prone to reading between the lines, seeing both sides, weeding out biases from both sides, "I don't think even throwing a magic ring in a mountain would quell it." In the end, he'd decided his own life, and the life of innocent civilians was all that he could in good faith protect and fight for.

Startled a little by his last remark, Orcus nevertheless had to laugh in delight at the reference.
"Well, if that ever becomes an option, I believe you and I have at least one elf and hobbit covered. Though if it seems grey for you, imagine how I feel. As far as I can tell, the Mirror didn't exist back when all this nonsense started."
Which brought up interesting questions in and of itself, but Orcus didn't want to delve that far into the land of What If. With a soft sigh, she glanced up at Sintashta's face and gave him a small, wan smile before slowly turning and heading back into the shadows.
"I truly hope we never have to meet on a battlefield. I'd hate to have to beat up the only person in this idiot town who truly appreciates Tolkien."
Tonberry Queen X we could probably call this a wrap if you want o:
