Terry had spent the last week going back and forth with idea's as to what he would get his Mother for Mother's Day. He had tossed out idea's such as soaps and makeups early on while shelved idea's such as new clothes into a maybe category. Another idea in the maybe category was jewelry but he was pretty sure that his Dad was planning on getting her some of that if what his muttering were to be taken as truth. The option of just doing chores around the house for her was in the maybe category as well but he did that anyway.
There was also the option for taking her out somewhere of course, though he knew they would end up following the tradition they did every year and go out to eat. He could always take her shopping but it would feel weird to have a spending limit on his Mother. The movies was an option but there wasn't anything out that she wanted to see. Maybe do a surprise mini vacation and pay for a trip out of town but then again, budget issues. Idea's came an went until he started to write them all down as a list and made sure to write the pros and cons with each idea.
It took him days before he finally settled on just what he would do for her and in the end both he and Matt ended up splitting the costs to let her spend the day at a day spa. While she was enjoying that, their Dad rallied them up to clean the house, though not a deep clean since it would take longer then a day, and then told them to get ready to pick up their Mom and go out to eat towards the end of the day.
When they did pick up Julie she looked radiant and had a bright smile on her face. From their they went to a restaurant of her choosing, this year being Olive Garden, for dinner and dessert. While they were there Nathan gave her his gifts, a very beautiful set of gold jewelry with small diamonds, sapphires, and amethysts set within. They had of course encouraged her to put them on right then and there which she did while pretending to be put out. They ended up spending about an hour at the restaurant before going home and spending time in the living room talking about their day.
By the time Terry was getting ready for bed he was pleased with how the day had turned out and that his Mother was happy, that having of course been the goal. When he sat down on his bed after turning out the lights he looked outside at the stars and wondered if he would ever end up telling his parents about being a Knight. On one hand it would mean worrying them, on the other it could mean that this time next year he could take them one special days to his Wonder. A few minutes later he shook his head as if to shake the thoughts out and sent Seung a quick text that was just wishing him a good night then crawled under the covers and went to bed.
