Harrison had obviously showed Rep the texts, in response to which Rep wished him a real good time with "bible thumper" and "a*****e". Harrison had pulled his jacket on, not-too-happy about any of it. It wasn't like anybody was paying him extra for this s**t. When did he become Dr. Snakeoil's personal medical consultant? There was a clinic. Folks could walk there. Jan or Weiman or whatever he was calling himself nowadays was missing a hand, not legs.
Last time Lawrence's condition hadn't garnered too much sympathy.
Harrison figured it was about that s**t. He'd said they could call. Maybe they'd adhered to his ******** workout schedule and wanted some more s**t to do.
Harrison severely doubted this was the case.
He waited for the pair of them, scowling, on the fields.

Normally when Lawrence moved it was with a very upright and proud sort of grace, seeming to radiate haughtiness. Since he'd switched to his more pleasant persona he moved in more "human" ways depending on his external mood. He practically slouched on the way to the training fields, not looking forward at all to dealing with this conversation.
He didn't talk much to Rodney as they went, already trying to play over the conversation in the least humilating way in his head.
"Hi." he said looking away from the other man, he looked healthier than he had met last time by a good margin, Butch showing an ability to put healthy weight back on when given the tools to do so. "Sorry to inconvenience your no doubt busy day." In spite of the trouble he often had with metaphors, sarcasm was not a problem at all.

"Yeah, yeah," Harrison said. "You don't look like you're on death's door, anyhow."
He looked between Rodney and Lawrence suspiciously.
"You been following the work out regimen? I can't tell, you dress in so many layers you just look the same amount of lumpy."
Rodney tugged on his shirt sleeves self-consciously.
"I've been exercising," he said softly. "But...he needed to ask you about something else."
Harrison had been afraid of that.

Lawrence sighed, shaking his head, he had been doing some of the exercise in addition to his usual night time training but he would never openly admit it to Harrison. "No." he said when asked, before going on to look a fraction more uncomfortable.
"It is probably nothing." he said. "But something has been wrong with well.. my...libido." And it sounded exactly as absurd as he had dreaded it would. "Look. I know it is active normally. But it is excessive since I got back from a recent mission. Utterly excessive. Morphine didn't dent it."

"Uh huh," Harrison said, looking down. "Look. I'm just a field medic. If it had fallen off, I could stick it in an ice bag."
He'd noticed about the morphine.
"I think something's wrong," Rodney vouched. "We thought you might-"
"Course you think something's wrong." Harrison scowled, "...I mean. What do you want me to do about it? You think it might be a side effect of something? You eat anything funny?"

Lawrence looked a little mortified at the comment. "If we can not discuss anything falling off that would be fantastic." he said, crossing his arms.
He gave Rodney a nonplussed look. "I knew this would be a terrible idea, I should have just left it alone and dealt with it."
He looked back to Harrison. "I thought that you would be more professional and less openly biased than ninety nine point nine percent of Life division. You had integrity before." He shook his head. "I ran into famine." he said. "On my mission and I have eaten some questionable things far in the past, though nothing that I could think of having a bearing on things now. We can leave."

Rodney touched Lawrence's arm. "Wait. You know something's wrong too..."
Harrison froze up at famine, looking at Lawrence a lot more nervously. He cleared his throat, and folded his arms.
"So what uh," he swallowed, "what all. Happened. On the mission. You didn't like, you didn't uh, run into anybody with h-holes. In them. Or...or ******** feel something, uh, crawling...."
He rubbed the back of his neck, staring at Lawrence like he might burst open at any time.

Lawrence looked rather tired as he stopped and gave Harrison a slightly puzzled look for how completely rattled he seemed. "I met Nest." he said. "Got attacked, refused to work with her, got stabbed." And as if to make a point he lifted the bottom of his shirt to show the perfect straight scars along his abdomen like sheet music.
"No one had holes in them." he said, but he didn't address the crawling, aware that in the hazy place between sleep and waking that he could have sworn he'd felt something unspeakable. "I got out just in the nick of time."
He wasn't very pleased with the way he was being looked at, his pride rankling somewhat at the attitude while some other nastier part of him embraced fear and mistrust as being how he should be treated.

"Okay. No holes," Harrison said, although he was looking a little paler. And sweatier.
"You know, this might be above my pay grade. If they cut you open, anything could have gotten in there. Flowers. Or a...a w-worm, or something. Last time I got cut Sahara-side, they had me and everyone else with wounds shitting out roots the rest of the day. Th-those, guys, over there, they're sick ********. s**t man, in the infirmary, they...they cleared you and s**t? I mean. They checked you over, right?"

It was difficult to imagine flowers as anything particularly intimidating, but the follow up comment about roots was much less appealing. "I wouldn't even be able to comment on any other side effects, I spent most of my time in the infirmary being very sick because of what I assume was my intestinal damage at the time."
He shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine if they actually checked me over. I assume so, knowing where I'd been but this is Life we are talking about, it could have just been someone with a clipboard and a duty to finish off."

Harrison felt a bit weird doing some kind of medical consult out here on the training fields. He eyed a jogger.
"Are you sure this is uh, where you want to uh...talk. About, your medical...whatever is going on."

Lawrence shrugged. "We can go wherever you like. I just was not going to come to your room when the ginger beast inhabits that particular little den. We are completely amenable to moving."

Harrison would just feel better in an office. An office with some sort of quarantine really close by.
"Infirmary," he said, turning to head that way, "I won't tell on you to Sunny this time, unless you're..." he shivered. "A b-bug," he spat out the word, hating how when he did, he thought about holes, and flowered couches, and how many must be crawling around just right there in the grass, and if he thought too hard the ground around his feet started to spin, "puppet. What are you here for? Just to violate medical confidentiality?"
"Support," Rodney answered quietly.
"Fine, fine. Whatever you guys want to do. s**t. You know, I give the sex safety lectures, occasionally I carry people back to actual doctors, don't you have some kind of degree?" He asked Lawrence accusingly.

Lawrence followed along behind Harrison. "I'm not a puppet." he stated. "I still have plenty of autonomy. Oodles." He wasn't too distressed about the idea of bugs crawling around inside of him, simply that they minded their manners and didn't bother him too much, he didn't feel much attachment to his body at the best of times and tenants were fine, especially if they made him younger.
Rodney got a smile for his response, a genuine one or as genuine as Lawr could muster. "He's good support, needed him here in case you tried to carry me off again too. Just in case."
"And yes. I do. I have a BVMS in veterinary medicine and surgery, unfortunately they did not provide any teaching whatsoever on supernatural ailments, also I am not a dog or a cat. So."

Harrison looked even more incredulous at that. "He's gonna protect you. From me. I know I seem like I could be pushed over with a strong pout, but I'm warning you both, I don't have a real strong guilt reflex."
Rodney smiled hopefully at both of them.
Harrison set his shoulders gruffly. "So you decided to ask me, on account of my certification course on runic condoms. Well, whatever. Sure. How are you two holding up. How's Melvin?"
