"I've never seen anyone grow a tail before," says Lily's uninvited guest. "I mean, I guess it's legitimate, as a life choice. But it's kind of weird." The woman--not unattractive, simply a little odd in the face--wrinkles her nose as she looks down at Lily. "Time to roll on out of bed, kiddo," she says. "Couch. Out of couch. Budge up."

Lily wasn't sure who might be calling for her, but she was entirely too tired to care. "Five more minutes," she slurred in a warning tone, curling her limbs inward.

"I mean, sure. But that tail's not going anywhere." The red lady gives the tail a gentle tug. "You ******** furry."

Where the voice had been easy enough to ignore, the pressure on her spine was another sensation entirely, and Lily yanked away from the touch, looking up at the stranger with half lidded eyes. "What the ********," she glowered, rubbing at her backside. Her eyes shot awake when her hands met some...protrusion, something that definitely shouldn't have been her but was. "What the ********," she repeated, a little softer and more frightened. It was beginning to be feel like a mantra of hers.

"You grew a tail," says the red lady patiently. Her shirt says WELL TODAY IS OFF TO A BOURGEOIS START. It's technically like four in the morning. "Hi. How're you doing?"

"Yeah, so that happened," Lily agreed, though her hands were still wandering over the space to define the shape, the texture. "Hi," she blinked, her mind a blur of too many questions at once, "Is this supposed to happen?" She supposed that she could, of course, still be dreaming.

"It did! Good eye, sport." She pats Lily's butt in a totally no-homo kind of way. "So can I sit or am I gonna have to talk you through meditating your tail away while standing, because, rude. Also, yes. It's supposed to happen, but it's kind of a new thing. For you. Ya know?" As an afterthought, she adds, "I'm Lady, btw." She says it beetee you.

For a dream, Lily noted, it was surprisingly tactile, but being obstinate and panicked was a shade further than her stamina bar would allow at the moment. Instead, she shuffled herself to sitting, having to twist her pelvis to accommodate for her new appendage. She wiped the bangs from her eyes slowly, then patted at the threadbare cushion beside her in silent permission. "Sup, Lady Beeteeyew," She greeted, trying to at least have vague household manners. "You have any idea why this is happening or did you just drop in all hella observant?"

"No, no, the name's just Lady. Lady Red, sometimes. I dunno, Lucas was weirded out when he called me that. But I like it, so, whatever." Lady sits in the empty cushion, careful to avoid Lily's tail. The tail is big, poofy, and black: very cute, and very plush. "Last guy thought he was becoming a werewolf. As far as I can tell, he wasn't too far off? I'm not really an animal person... except when I am an animal person." She crosses her legs underneath her (she is barefoot). "So, you do much meditating? 'Cause that's the core here."

Lily listened in silence, nodding along. Lady Red, some guy named Lucas was involved, werewolves...? "So wait, you are or you aren't an animal person," Lily held up a hand to indicate it was her turn to speak. "Because I need to know real fast if you and I are both team furry or if I'm apparently roughing it alone or some s**t." "I'm a big fan of corpse pose," she admitted with a shrug. "It's meditating, but on the ground. Sometimes face down." She nodded, staring off into space. "Best pose."

Lady cocks her head at Lily, and then she smiles. It is an altogether nasty smile, all sharp needle-teeth. Then she purses her lips for a moment, and smiles again: human teeth. "Sort of," she says. "You're not alone, though. Anyway--think about not having a tail. Meditate on the smooth, tail-less beauty of your a**. I mean, I haven't seen it, but it should theoretically be cute, right?" Lady leans back on the couch. "Then I'll tell you where to find some bros."

Lily didn't jump when Lady bared her teeth, but there was a twitch in her eyes that said she'd thought about it, at least for a moment. "Well that's cool, I guess. I mean, I don't know what that means, but whatever it is is real neato." Her voice stayed calm and level despite the growing apprehension in her hazel eyes. She would have liked to say that she had no real idea what her a** looked like, but it was impossible to practice advanced yoga without coming cheek to cheek at least once. It was easy enough to imagine herself as tailless, given that it had been her default state of being, but getting her breathing to slow was another thing entirely. She still felt that itch in her bones, that need to touch something other than the floor... With a sigh of frustration, she clambered up to the top of the couch and say squatly on the back, taking a deep breath in. It wasn't much, but already her nerves began to feel less frayed. She breathed, and then she concentrated.

"It means my form is malleable." Lady smiles. "Just like yours." She waits, sitting companionably on the couch. "It's gone now," she says, when the tail has receded entirely. "So, d'you know who Eve is? Something something Equinox?"

"Huh," Lily blinked, patting the place where the tail had been. "How bout that." "I know about Garden of Eden Eve, something something original sin," Lily responded, choosing to stay on her perch. "Unless you're talking about someone else, which could be pretty much anybody."

Lady shrugs. "Some lady in a wheelchair, has a cute dog. She says she's got a shop called Equinox? Should be some listing on Yelp." She looks up at Lily. "You gonna be okay to go back to sleep if I go?"
