The abrupt shift from 'dreaming' to some version of reality doesn't seem to trouble Eve's guest. A redheaded woman, tall, in a jean jacket and black pants. Her hands are in her pockets, thumbs poking out, and she says, "Heyyy," in such a fashion as the extra ys are eminently audible. "So, weird question, are your dreams usually like that? 'Cause that isn't gonna work for me, long-term."

Eve's first response was to sit up as quickly as she could, bracing against Clover for support. "Who... are you?" she asked, wearily but bluntly, in a tone that strongly suggested intent to call the cops. Leila wasn't around -- working late at the precinct, or stumbled into Other Ashdown again, both of which happened often enough it wasn't as much of a shock as the stranger who soundlessly broke into their home was.

"Some people call me Lady," says the woman, who is henceforth going to be called Lady, even though it's not really her name. "I'm just dropping by to check on you. The last guy this happened to kinda freaked out, and I don't think he really realized what was happening?" She flops onto the end of the bed without asking permission. "You should look under your covers, by the way. Not sure if you can feel what's happened to you, but..." Beneath the covers, Eve's feet have transformed: clawed toes, the heel receding. "Don't freak out, though," advised Lady. "It could be worse."

After another suspicious peer at "Lady," there was a slight, but definite sense of familiarity. It wasn't a hostile feeling either, which put Eve slightly more at ease about her presence as she followed her advice and scooted the covers aside -- Clover groaned doggishly in protest, as she was comfy and she knew it was still way too early for Eve to be getting up. The sight that greeted her was about as doggish as that bit of noise, but far from as endearing. Instead of her regular feet, with the fresh coat of nail polish Leila had affectionately given them on Sunday, there was fur, and claws, and a tapered silhouette to the toes, which twitched ever-so-slightly as the sheet brushed over them. Eve had no words for that. She looked back at her intruder-guest, full of questions and not knowing which to start with. This was definitely not the kind of magic Leila had been exposed to, so what was going on?

"I knew I liked you," says Lady. "Hey, I bet you're good at meditating, yeah?" She braids her hair aside quickly, messily, and abandons it over her shoulder. "And being chill about a ton of weird s**t? 'Cause the last guy gave me this." She pulls off her jacket to reveal a shirt that declares HEY!! I HAVE POWERS. It is funny, because it is true. "So you've got a disadvantage since you probably don't, like, remember what it feels like to have people feet anymore, right? But you know what they look like? So close your eyes and think of that. Very calm. Imagine your human feet."

In spite of things, Eve couldn't help but snicker a bit at the shirt. "That's the sort of thing my wife might wear," she observed. Leila had some powers, herself. No dog-legs for her, though. Meditation and contemplation were rather frequent states of being, so Lady's continued guidance was accepted with little question, especially now that it was becoming more and more apparent she was here as a friend. Picturing her familiar human feet was easier than it could have been with the pleasant memory of them fresh in her mind: berry-colored lacquer being neatly spread on her toenails, as her partner smiled up at her sheepishly from her place seated on the floor.

Lady taps the back of Eve's hand. "You're all done," she says, "and I didn't mean he gave me the shirt, I meant this--" and she points to a giant bruise "--my boyfriend was very confused. But this is just a dream, so, hey!" She flexes, and it goes away. "It's a dream for me, I mean. It's real for you." She winks, and sits against the end of Eve's bed, legs criss-cross applesauce. "So, since I'm like, not even really in Ashdown, can you do me a huge favor? Imposing a little 'cause I just taught you to put your feet back on."

A dream... for her? "Oh." Honestly, that was probably the least weird thing about this whole situation so far. Dream weirdness was familiar enough, even if the way it was manifesting here was new. "It's fine, I'm pretty sure that counts a favor from you," she smiled, more fully relaxed. "What do you need?

Lady smiles, very easily. "There's a big dumbass named Lucas Reis. He's going through this same s**t, but uh... not handling it nearly so well. Can you kinda reach out to him and let him know he's not going ******** crazy? 'Cause he seems pretty sure he is, and I got like, three other people to rescue, and I won't even be here for like... months yet. Not for real."

It didn't even take a moment of consideration to reply: "Where can I find him?"

Lady says, "I can't write it down, so listen up," and rattles off his address and phone number. "s**t's gonna get weird for you and the rest of you soon, I think. I'll come by when I can, but it's a long process to get from where I am to where you are." She hops up. "Are you gonna be able to get back to sleep?"

There was a pad of paper handy on the nightstand and Eve grabbed it, quickly jotting down Lucas's information as it was given. "Do you know where my shop is, too?" she asked, while writing the last few numbers in broad, loopy digits. "Please direct anyone else you're talking to over to Equinox. It's a less intimidating place to find a friend than a house they've never been to." As far as sleep, she shrugged and slowly shook her head. "I'm sure I'll get more nervous about this as soon as you leave, but I'll figure it out."

"Yeah," says Lady. "I, uh. Don't think I actually do know where your shop is. I guess I'll ask around." She smiles. "My advice? Don't worry about it too much. Ya'll are getting off easy--anyway, I have to wake up now. It's almost dusk, and my boyfriend'll be concerned." Lady waves with a waggle of her fingers and disappears... though the discarded jean jacket remains on the end of the bed.
