Tom looked around the park that he was sitting in, currently waiting to see if he could find another target to take energy from. He hadn't been able to find anyone... acceptable for him to drain energy from. He might have been able to get away with stealing energy from people whom it wouldn't matter up to this point, but he was falling behind and knew he had to get more for the Negaverse.

He sighed and looked at his tablet again, currently stuck on one page of his novel that he hadn't been able to get away from for the past half hour. It was closer to night time and the sun was still falling to the point where he didn't necessarily need the tablet, but wanted to be able to read in the dark in case he had to stay at the park for a while.

He wasn't sure why he thought the park was a good idea. It probably would have been better to just drain some energy from one of his teammates after practice and then blame the resulting blackout on said practice. But it didn't matter at this point. He would stay until it got too late for him to find someone. Who knows, maybe he could find some silly drug dealer or something that he could drain energy from.

Out of the corner of his he noticed one suspicious man, his head darting to and fro, looking like he was waiting for someone. Well, that looked like a good target to Tom, and so he got up, and moved out of sight to be able to transform into Arsenopyrite.

He still didn't like the transformation that much. The worst was losing his hat but the cloth in front of his mouth didn't help anything either. And on a night like this he was going to be sweating buckets in an outfit like this. Mentally sighing, he looked back at his target, who seemed to be even more nervous than before. Well, time to go get his energy. Hopefully he could just lay the guy on the bench or something to make it look like he had fallen asleep.

Moving as silently as he could, he moved behind his target, and before the man could react, he had grabbed his shoulder and started to drain the man's energy. He had made sure that no one else was around before doing so, so if he could do it quickly enough, he would be on his way out of here in a minute or so.

Quinn had taken longer to get back on an even keel emotion wise then he would have ever admitted to anyone. First his girlfriend dumps him, then in his drunken haze he had accepted some chaos in him to help clean the code, and then his folks pulled him out of classes for two weeks and dumped him in one of the company's subsidiaries halfway across the world. Apparently they had sensed more going on with him then just getting over Delilah so they got him out of town. He got back in time for finals, he figured he passed by the skin of his teeth, but the break had done him good. He was able to focus completely on something other than the secret war he was fighting in. The young man had a lot to apologize for but for now he was just out for a stroll, figuring no nega action would occur this early in the evening.

He was wrong.

The sandy haired fellow was just making his way into a park when something drew his eye to two figures further in. Caution had him slipping closer until he could make out one of the officers of chaos doing something to a civilian. Cursing to himself the young man made sure he was well hidden before he too powered up.

Stepping out of the trees Havasu tisked. "Come on man. The sun hasn't even fully set now. At least be decent about it and wait till its get fully dark. Let the poor man go." The squire took in the negaverser, his eyebrow raising at the getup. He really wasn't one to talk since he looked like a damn christmas cowboy but the nega was wearing what looked like a raincoat. A really old fashioned rain coat.

Tom flinched a bit when he heard himself being addressed. He looked over in the direction of the source of the noise and almost dropped his prey at what the other guy was wearing. It was a cowboy. There was really someone of the order who was dressed up as a cowboy. Yeah, he would definitely have to meet more of them.

Luckily he had just finished the energy draining and set the man on the ground before fully turning back to what would probably be his opponent for the night. Great, and he hadn't had any real training as of yet. Well, this would be fun, for his opponent.

He sighed. "Look, it's not like I wanted to drain the guys energy." He huffed a bit, crossing his arms. "Unfortunately we lieutenants have to fill quotas and I was behind on mine." He probably couldn't talk his way out of this, but he would try. Either way he would probably end up getting a beating. Not like he liked doing this anyway, but he couldn't admit that out loud. One never knew who they were being watched by.

Hav watched the baby nega, the energy signature was too weak for the guy to be more then a lieutenant which made him one of the weaker chaos agents since the knight had yet to meet anyone who was lower in rank then a lieutenant. He had to suppress the growl of anger that wanted to echo in the twilight of the park, the kid in front of him just put the man down that he had drained to the point of exhaustion. He didn’t seem to have any regard for the man’s life, what was that man going to miss because he was now laid out on the ground? Who was going to miss him? Would he be safe left here in the park? Havasu’s jaw hurt from him clenching his teeth to keep the snark from escaping.

“Quotas? What are you some freaking corporate drone!” The cowboy wasn’t able to stifle the anger or the sarcasm. It also didn’t help that he had spend his time away being just that, granted it had been pretty fascinating work but still, it annoyed him to no end. To think the great evil of the city was made up of corporate drones who had to meet freaking quotas. It was insane! “You have got to be kidding me. You treat the people of the city like living batteries, throwing them out when they are no longer of use to you, to meet bloody a** quota!”

Yep, he definitely was not going to get out of here without getting a beating. Tom almost let out a sigh but decided against it considering how angry the... knight was it? Seemed to be. He had never met a knight before, though he supposed there really was no other way to meet one other than in a battle.

He was starting to get a headache. All he wanted to do was get this over with and leave but now that wouldn't be happening. And of course it seemed that the knight had come in too late, though he probably would be okay protecting some drug dealer too. Tom bet if he looked in his target's pockets he might find a few bags or needles.

But that wouldn't matter to this guy, he was savior and protector of all of humankind! You know, maybe there are some people not worth saving, you ever think of that cowboy? He thought as he looked at his opponent. He would have loved to say it out loud, but thought better of it.

"Well... I doubt you would want to here any excuses by me. I bet you don't even care that I was forcibly recruited. But that doesn't matter to you right? All you see is some 'evil' person draining someone else and they couldn't possibly have any good reason to do so." He shook his head. Hopefully he wouldn't get too hurt. "Well, I guess you're going to want to 'defeat' me then. Well, here I am." He said, ready for his opponent to attack him. He didn't have a counterattack ready, and he certainly wasn't going to summon that dinky little thing called a "weapon" unless he thought of some actual use for it.

Yes Havasu was angry. Yes he thought the kid, he might not be but right then it felt like he was so much younger then how old Hav felt at that moment, was doing wrong. Yes he thought that this whole war was wrong. But he remembered one very important thing, balance. They needed balance. The code had told everyone that they needed to find a middleground, granted Havasu wasn’t sure how much the code could be trusted especially since they had to purify a part of it. Had he grown? Was he no longer the child he was before this damn war sucked him into it two years ago? Had it really only been two years?

All throughout the nega’s speech Hav absently toyed with his ring, the more the other spoke the more a sketchy idea formed in his mind. A heartbeat after the nega finished talking Havasu triggered the ring’s special aspect, it wasn’t something he was horribly familiar with but he had practiced with it a time or two since he had learned about it in that knight meeting months ago, before racing towards the other male. He wasn’t entirely sure if it would work, or what the nega was seeing, so he did his best to move as fast as he could towards his opponent.

Once he was next to the boy he gave him a light, but firm, smack to the back of the head. It was a Gibbs Smack from NCIS. It wasn’t meant to harm but to get his attention. Since he didn’t know how the other would react to this kind of move, and it was always safer to be out of reach of a negaverser, Hav backed of. Now a lot closer, but a still a relatively safe distance away, he spoke, “There is always a choice! You might not want to drain people but you are. Do you know what that energy goes towards? What is the Negaverse using it for? Do you even know who you're willing to fight for?” Granted Hav didn’t know these answers either, for neither side, but he wasn’t about to tell the nega that. “There is always a choice,” His voice was quieter, still fairly fierce but no longer carrying the anger from earlier. “You might not have had one when being forced to join them, but you chose to stay. There is another way. It’s not easy but there is one.”

ASPECT OF PLUTO: Pluto Knights flicker in and out of the normal passage of time, making them appear to have a lower frame rate than their counterparts -- while they do not move faster or slower, there are missing split-second portions of their movements that makes it difficult to anticipate or react to them.

Tom thought he might be having some sort of epileptic episode or something because he swore that he saw the knight move like he was... flickering or something.

But before he knew it, he had been smacked a bit in the back of the head. At least with the position he had been in he only moved a bit instead of falling on his face like he thought he should have. He glared at the knight. He heard the words, but they made no sense to him. Of course he was forced to stay, what other way was there?

He hadn't been in the negaverse for long. He had only been in there for a month so the information he had on well, everything about this war, was pretty basic. He moved a bit away from the knight, expanding the distance between them. "Look, I don't know what other way you're talking about. I've only just been forced to join and they don't seem too keen on telling me everything yet with my low rank and whatnot." It was like any other military organization, the lowest of the ranks were not trusted with the important information.

"I don't know what way you're talking about and certainly have never heard of it. I barely even know what you guys are."

Hav had absently disengaged the aspect magic, no point in keeping it up and running if he was just standing there talking to the nega officer. He kept an eye on the kid, not surprised when the guy moved further away, or by how ignorant he was. The knight didn’t find the irony in that thought considering just how little Havasu, himself, knew. He was still learning and picking up new techniques, let alone everything to do with the war itself. Hell he had only really know who the negaverse were in the last few months or so.

“Well no s**t sherlock! Why would they tell you anything! You're doing what they want without bothering to ask anything let alone figuring out that you don't have to stay with them.” He couldn’t help but let his tongue lash out again, his hands thrown up in frustration. “You can purify you numbskull. We are you but not! Knights are Negas and Negas are Knights.” It wasn’t something he fully understood but Hav did at least know that.

Frustrated with the boy, with the whole situation, Hav completely disregarded the fact that he was standing in the presence of his ‘enemy’ and turned away to start pacing. “Why? Why did I get stuck here talking to a newbe nega?” He wasn’t talking to anyone in particular, just voicing his annoyance. “I mean come on man. I just got back!” He didn't want to deal with this. Not after just getting his feet back under him, finding an even keel in his life. Hell he was still dealing with his break up though most of the anger had passed, now he was just stuck with the memories and the knowledge that he had screwed it up somehow.

This guy was starting to piss Tom off. He didn’t know what Tom had been through yet, and the cowboy was shouting at him about how he had a choice! No, he didn’t have a choice! He knew that it was a losing battle that these knights and senshi were fighting. He knew that the negaverse had succeeded everywhere but here. He knew that there was no choice in the matter for him. He had to do this, even if he didn’t want to.

The knight or whatever level of knight this was started pacing and Tom had tuned him out, now trying to find a way out of here. He knew that if he tried to run he would be followed and would probably get beaten. He could of course stay here and try to fight the guy too, though he doubted he would come out the victor of the fight. He was starting to get nervous as while he did have an opportunity, he had no training when it came to fighting and so didn’t know how to start or defend himself in a fight.

However, he figured he might try to put his soccer skills to use here, he couldn’t really do anything else, especially with his dinky little weapon. Maybe he could poke the guy into submission? Yeah, right. So he took this opportunity and swung his leg, hoping to catch the squire off guard and trip him up with his feet or at least knock him down.

((Yup one 10 sided die. Odds-hit, Evens-miss and sorry about the crappy tag Hav is kinda too much his head >.< ))

Havasu might have been a bit wrapped up in his own thing but he hadn't completely forgotten the lieutenant so when he caught movement out of the corner of his eye, the squire moved instinctively. Training kicked in as he slid away from the leg, he immediately responded to the attack and went to punch the kid in the gut, changing it to a push at the last moment. If luck was on his side it would give him breathing space again to figure out just what the hell the boy was thinking. It wasn’t like Hav was being aggressive so why attack? And why attack by kicking? If you needed to rush an opponent you should try to pin them first so they don’t have a chance to retaliate. That's what he had been learning between the classes with Math, personal training, and knight training.

Some times it was hard to believe that even a few months ago he might have tried such a lame move. Hell he had been known to just straight up try to tackle his opponent, leaving himself wide open. It is amazing what a few life threatening moments, a hard breakup, and a month or two of drinking too much could change your view on the world. It didn’t take long at all to come up with a safer plan than just running in head first, not really. After all those few seconds could mean the difference between getting out of a fight with just a few scrapes or not making it out at all.

Well, it hadn’t been the smartest of ideas but Tom really didn't know how to go into a battle. The only fighting he had seen was in TV and movies and he couldn’t really consider those things to emulate considering that those fights tended to be choreographed. So of course, his attack had failed and he had gotten pushed away, though he could have sworn he was going to get hit for a second, and ended up falling to the ground.

However that he knew how to get out of and so he did a little jump to be able to get back up onto his feet. This squire didn’t seem to be interested in fight still, or else he would have probably used everything he could to counterattack Tom’s easily dodged kick. He took a few seconds to think of what to do. Though anything at this point would just highlight the amount of non-training he had gone through.

He almost wanted to run away at this point and was definitely considering it. If this squire wasn’t wanting to fight, then why should Tom have to stay? Instead this time he readied himself in what he thought was a defensive position, waiting to see what his opponent was going to do.

Fiction1119

yeah me neither ^.^' at least not with this more grown up Quinn >.>'

After push the kid down Hav backed away expecting the nega to retaliate, his eyebrow raising at the fancy rebound the kid did. He could do that but he thought a simple kick was a good attack? With a sigh the knight pulled his hat off and ran his fingers through his sandy hair. “Look kid, you said your just doing your job right? Find out what your job is really doing to people. Find out what that energy you're collecting is really going towards… I don't expect you to believe me. Hell, I wouldn’t believe me either.” He jammed his hat back on and slowly made his way to the civilian on the ground where he was left.

Surprisingly unconcerned with the lieutenant, Hav apparently hadn’t completely shaken his casual disregard for his own safety, the squire knelt down and checked the guy’s pulse where it beat strong in the guy's neck. The squire locked eyes with the negaverse agent, “Find out what your side is really fighting for because I can tell you that you don’t have to remain as you are now.” This was actually the first time he had ever encountered the other side where Havasu thought maybe he could talk someone into coming to the light. So many other knights gave up on their chaos counterparts but maybe if they could get to the lieutenants before they were fully seduced to the life they were now leading they could really turn the tide of the war. “And if you really want to fight I’ll oblige you but if not get out of here while I drop this guy off at a hospital.”

Tom was internally battling himself a bit. He did want to ask about how he could possibly be changed to go to the other side. It was something he hadn’t known about though it wasn’t surprising since he doubted the negaverse accepted wanted people switching over so much. And he certainly wasn’t an ideal candidate for the negaverse. He had been questioning why he had been turned however… he didn’t think this was the time and place to be considering this.

This was too much like every other battle he had been in with the other side. Get ambushed while he was draining someone’s energy, try to avoid a fight, and if that happened get beaten for it. Or the senshi would fight him anyway, truly believing they were in the right, no matter how much he explained himself. This squire wasn’t like that though and while he could avoid the fight, he was starting to feel like a failure and coward for running away so much. Even if he did switch to the other side, what use would he be? What could he possibly do to help them turn the tide against a force that had pretty much already won this ‘war’?

He trembled a bit, glad that his outfit could hide it. He wasn’t sure what to do. What should he do? Maybe… he should fight. Though this squire didn’t seem willing, Tom felt as though he wouldn’t be able to take another cowardly way out of this. Even if he would think about joining the other side later, he couldn’t back down now. Because if he did switch over, he would still be the same coward.

He stood tall staring back at the squire and gritting his teeth. “I’m sorry, but I am going to have to fight you. I’ll… think on your words, but I’m not going to run from another fight. Not this time.” And for the first time… he tried to summon his weapon in a battle. Although he had practiced summoning it before and knew it would probably be pretty useless in a battle, he felt as though he needed the confidence boost that came with it this time. Concentrating, he managed to summon the cane, the one that had the ominous top of a plague doctor’s cane. Gripping it in one hand, he started towards the squire. “I have to do this.”

Fiction1119
All right, think I got him in the mood. It's quite hard not wanting to switch over with his personality so I'm thinking of making him change a bit sanity wise.

Arse gets the first punch... just dont take his seed please sweatdrop

Havasu watched as the Lieutenant seemed to come to some conclusion, he wasn’t terribly surprised when the kid decided that he would fight. Part of him had hoped the young nega would decide to just turn around and leave but the other side of him, the side that was still reckless and childish, relished the fight that the kid wanted. With a sigh he got to his feet and deliberately walked away from both the Lieutenant and his prone victim. Once he was a decent distance away he fully faced the kid, if he wanted a fight Havasu really would oblige him but not when it was possible for the poor soul currently passed out could be caught in the crossfire.

“Alright kid. I’m ready if you are.” He was tempted to give the nega the first punch but he knew the kind of damage even a Lieutenant could do with one well placed strike, namely a starseed being yanked from a living person’s chest. Such a thing was a death sentence unless it was returned. So even though he didn’t really think the kid knew how, or had the guts, to do so, even Havasu wasn’t that suicidal. Granted he really only saw stronger negaversers do it so Lieutenants doing it was more or less just a theory as far as the squire knew. Bah he was overthinking this.

He braced for the attack he knew was going to come and gave the nega guy a half smile, “if you want to get your licks in kid....” He never finished his sentence, just let it trail off as he waited to see what he negaverser would do.

Tom, well really he should go by his mineral name at this point, Arsenopyrite smiled a bit under his mask. He figured the adrenaline was starting to change how he was feeling about this meeting, which was making him excited to battle, even if he knew he didn’t really stand a chance. He saw the squire move and he agreed that it would be a good idea not to let the victim be in the way. Too much tripping could occur otherwise.

He readied himself, though whether it was of any use at all he couldn’t tell, and nodded at the squire. “Well, might as well fight right?” He wouldn’t walk away from this without some pretty bad injuries, but he hoped that being a negaverse agent they might heal more quickly. He ran at the squire, only getting his arm out to punch the man when he figured he was close enough. He hoped that he would hit him somehow, but he was probably overestimating his fighting abilities.
