The sun was starting to set over the city and soccer practice was already over. Tom sighed as he was walking from his apartment, enjoying the warm spring air. Sure, he still had to have some jeans and a hoodie on, but it was starting to finally move away from the colder temperatures to something that suited him more, like something over 60 degrees.

He hadn't been able to explore the city for a while, and decided that tonight would be a good night to do it. He knew he should be afraid of going out alone, and especially at night, but with his new powers he knew that he didn't have to worry about anything attacking him, hopefully. At least not while he was in his human form. He was still a bit confused on how all of this worked, but decided not to think about it too much.

Unfortunately he was also looking for someone to steal energy from. He had been lagging behind on the energy count and had been promised a beating if he didn't step up his game. He sighed. Couldn't they do something else to encourage him to do his "job" other than threatening him with violence? He didn't like taking energy from random people, especially if he thought they were good. And it was hard to go and find some jerk or otherwise who really deserved it, someone he wouldn't mind stealing energy from. At least he hadn't been asked to kill anyone yet.

However, tonight seemed to be his lucky night as he heard a scream and saw someone darting from an alleyway, carrying what seemed to be a ladies purse, which clashed quite a bit with the outfit that the robber was currently wearing. Well, now he had his target. He quickly ducked into another alleyway himself and powered into his Lt. form, hoping he wouldn't be detected by anyone else. And lucky for him, he was a bit more speedy in this form and was able to catch up with the man, and drag him into the alley that he had changed in.

He pushed the man up against the wall, using some of his powered strength to do so. The robber still hadn't seemed to catch on to what was happening and Tom decided to take advantage of this. "Well, too bad you decided to rob someone tonight and at this time. If you had chosen tomorrow you might not have been caught by me." He said as he moved one arm to start draining the man's energy. The thief had been too surprised to speak or shout out, so this seemed to be an easy catch for the night.

Adria had started his evening simply enough; he was doing a routine patrol when he heard a scream—conveniently near where the energy signature of a Negaverse Agent was suddenly tingling on his radar.

…A Negaverse Agent who didn't feel stronger than him.

Adria was exceptionally cautious and debated calling Lysithea for backup, but…all things considered, this should have been easy to deal with, right?

The Senshi sucked up a breath and prepared himself even as he charged towards the scream.

He didn't see what had happened, but the moment he stumbled on an Agent pinning someone to the wall, he figured he had found his troublemaker. Adria hadn't been there to see the civilian steal the purse—all he saw was an Agent about to hurt someone.

"Hey!" he snapped. "Whatever you're doing over there, let them go. I'm warning you, don't make me hurt you!"

He probably didn't sound as threatening as he wanted to—Adria wasn't really that intimidating and he knew it. But he tried, and he told himself that's all that mattered. "Drop him, and step away. Slowly."

Arsenopyrite heard a voice coming from the entrance of the alleyway and turned to see a senshi standing there. He mentally sighed, wondering if he was ever going to be able to gather energy at night without being spotted.

Well, at least he had gotten enough from the man to knock him out, and he did place him slowly on the ground, though he would have done that anyway. Even if the guy was a robber he didn't want to risk a possible concussion or broken bone by dropping him like a rock.

He looked back at the man, trying to find the purse that was stolen, and when he did, picked it up, wondering what to do with it now. He hadn't gotten a good look at the woman who it had been stolen from and if he turned it into the police he might get arrested on suspicion.

He turned towards the senshi this time, stepping away from the man. He would do as the senshi said... for now. If he was able to get away or go in for an attack he would try to take advantage of the situation.

"Well... you caught me. I was just trying to get this woman's purse back..." He said while holding it up a bit. "And I just thought this guy was a convenient target at the same time. Needed some way to get him at least right?" Perhaps he could convince the senshi to take the purse.

Adria was undeniably surprised at how willingly the Negaverse agent seemed to be complying. He wasn't used to them being so agreeable and it left him fumbling for words. "Well," he started, and suddenly lost a good portion of his confidence. It had seemed so easy to just rush in here and make sure no one was getting hurt, and…

The person on the ground—assuming that Negaverse Agent was telling the truth—was…the bad guy. So did that make the lieutenant a bad guy for stopping…the bad guy, or…

He barely resisted the urge to groan and instead shuffled awkwardly. "Well. You, uhm. You should have gotten the purse and called the police. Draining energy is—that's not good, you know. You stealing energy is as anyone taking some lady's purse."

Some people just care too much. Tom thought as he looked at the senshi. Though he was a bit surprised that the senshi seemed so nervous. All the ones he had encountered so far seemed to have quite a bit of bravado, or maybe it was just their sense of righteousness going to their heads? Well he supposed that there were some who wouldn’t fit the mold. It was just like everyone else, you were going to get a mixture of things whether you wanted it or not.

Arsenopyrite sighed as he found a place on the ground, that wasn’t too dirty, to put the purse and looked back at the senshi and shrugged his shoulders. “I have quotas to fill and criminals like this one make great targets. And isn’t it like karma a bit? The police will get him eventually, this way he just gets some punishment more quickly.” He didn’t really like draining energy from people who were innocent or just minding their own business, but he was surprised that anyone would really care that a criminal still shouldn’t get some sort of punishment.

He started to walk towards the senshi, mostly because he was in the way of the only exit out of the entryway, unless Arsenopyrite suddenly developed a professional level of skill in parkour, hoping he might be able to avoid a fight still. “You have your criminal right there, you can bring the purse back to the lady who just lost it, there’s no need to fight now is there? I’m not going to be doing any more energy draining for the evening anyway.”

More than anything, this seemed to perplex Adria, and he said slowly, "I don't get it."

He made no effort to grab the purse and instead took a step back as Arsenopyrite walked towards him. "…I mean, you're wrong to think that stealing from anyone is right, no matter how you judge them, but…You don't want to fight, which is odd—for a Negaverse Agent, and you're picking your targets based on their morality and criminal intent. Which is—you know, weird."

Adria couldn't attack him. Not if he wasn't a threat. Adria, by nature, could only see that an unprovoked attack was a sign of bullying, and he'd seen enough of that in his time that he wasn't going to throw the first punch unless absolutely necessary. If Arsenopyrite wasn't a threat, he couldn't will himself to cause harm to him—no matter how skewed his sense of justice was.

"But if you want to return the purse, it almost makes you sound like you might not be so bad. So…why are you with the Negaverse?"

Arsenopyrite shrugged his shoulders. He had been asked that question before, why are you with the Negaverse? And he hated answering it, as it was embarrassing, the reason that is, as to why he was with the Negaverse at all. But he tried to act nonchalant when he answered the senshi’s question. “I was forced too. That’s all there was to it. Apparently not all of their recruits willingly go along with them.” Not that he had known about the negaverse either. He had been saved by a general when a youma attacked him, and then the general turned him out of anger. He too couldn’t understand it.

He walked until he was quite close to the senshi, only a couple of feet away, standing in front of the other. Would this senshi really just let him walk off? Perhaps he could avoid a fight tonight. “Anyway, I don’t like going after innocent people that much.” He had gone after some before, but it was more those whom it wouldn’t be surprising to find sleeping under a bridge or in an alleyway. “And I have quotas to fill, so why not grab some energy and stop the criminal at the same time?” There were times however when he did have to go after someone innocent and he felt bad about doing it, but he didn’t know what he wanted to do, stay in the negaverse or see if he could somehow get out of it, so he was just doing as he was told at this point.

He sighed out loud, wondering where this would all go. “What do you want to do to me Mr… senshi?” He figured he might try to get the senshi’s name out of all of this, though he doubted he would get it that easily.

Now, Adria faltered.

His brows narrowed as he listened to the Lieutenant walk, and while he wanted to trust him…

He was evil, right?

…Or different. This one wasn't awful, attacking him without any thought. This one was talking to him, conversing…he seemed normal. Unlucky, though.

"I…It's Adria, first of all," he offered—a fleeting introduction that he quickly moved away from. "If you were forced…why don't you fight back? You don't have any handlers now, right? What's stopping you from leaving? You don't even seem like you're enjoying it, so…so you can leave, right?"

Arseno looked at the senshi with a strange look on his face. This senshi seemed quite naive. Perhaps they were all like that, which is what drove them to be so good in the face of so much loss. He quickly memorized the name in case he needed it later. “Well Adria, I wouldn’t be doing this if I thought I was by myself all of the time now would I? Never know when someone could be listening in to what you’re saying.” It hadn’t happened to him yet, but word did get around from what he had been told in the negaverse, to the point where those who were caught fraternizing with the other side were punished quite severely. From what he had been told anyway.

He shrugged his shoulders at the senshi. “Well I doubt I could leave the negaverse that easily and even if I did, I would still be stuck in this… war you guys seem to be fighting. Unless I lost all of my memory, I’m pretty sure I would still be stuck with all of this knowledge that I’ve gathered and either side would be out to get me then wouldn’t they?” He didn’t really ask it as a question, just pointing out what he thought to be the truth.

Adria shrugged, but he still seemed at a loss. "But you don't seem bad," he insisted. "But the Negaverse is bad. Hurting people, draining energy—just because you've got a set of morals you think makes it all right doesn't mean others even care about who they drain energy from."

He seemed confused and crossed his arms over his chest; his brows knit and his uncertainty never seemed to waver. "…I don't get it. You have to watch other people—you have to know that other people don't care, not like you do, right? Doesn't that drive you crazy? That they'll drain from just anyone?"

Arseno sighed as he looked back at the man. “Of course it makes me question what they’re doing. The reason for this war is that I’ve been told is for something that happened a thousand years ago, but why do they need to bring that back up again? Do we have to repeat past mistakes?” He still wasn’t quite sure what all of the fighting was about. And when asking had been told very little about what was going on. Heck, he still didn't know what he was supposed to do himself other than drain energy and fight when he needed.

“”I know some of them don’t have the same… morals that I do, but from what I’ve heard, the senshi aren’t above a little torture.” Or so he had been told by his general. Before he had been forced into the negaverse he didn’t believe that the senshis were terrorists. They seemed to come only when youma attacked rather than starting things themselves and didn’t like attention being brought to them. Now that he had been forced into all of this though… he wasn’t sure which side had the higher moral ground.

Adria's lips were pursed. "Well," he said slowly, taking a moment to process what the Negaverse agent had said and collect his own thoughts. His brows knit and he tried to understand how anyone could be interested in torture—Negaverse or Senshi. "…I have to admit, I've never heard of Senshi that wanted to torture people. But I have heard of Negaverse Agents who have no issue torturing or hurting others to get what they want. Or corrupting them against their will, forcing them to lose everything that they care about…"

His voice trailed off and he shrugged, not quite indifferent but mostly because he didn't seem to know what to say on the subject.

"…I don't know, honestly. Right now, you don't seem totally unreasonable. But don't you get frustrated with people telling you to do? With being told you have to go out and gather energy, or whatever? If you were a Senshi, or a Knight, you'd get to keep the city safe—just like you seem to want to do…but without the added trouble of dealing with, you know, great evil cosmic energy dictator?"

Arseno looked at the senshi. He hadn't heard what their leader was before, just who they were. And while the senshi could be right, from what he had heard, it's not as if the senshi were all good themselves. Some of them had even gone over to the negaverse side if the rumors he heard were true.

He wouldn't let the other know this new knowledge had shaken him up a bit though. But he would certainly think about it. "Well if I did switch sides I would be fighting anyway right? Either way I'm trapped in this stupid war that I didn't ask to be in and had no choice either." He was beginning to get annoyed with all of this talking. This senshi seemed to want to talk rather than to fight and while Arseno would have liked to just walk away, he was sure that it would be the wrong move.

He started to advance a bit towards the senshi, hoping he might get the other to leave.

Adria seemed jumpy as soon as the agent started walking towards him; he'd been trying to sit on his overcharged emotions, and when worry for his own well-being was a prime concern, it was easy to see every movement as a potential threat.

It would have been unwise to underestimate the Negaverse, and he wasn't about to let himself get drained—or worse. Frantically, he was trying to come up with a solution for what to do; a part of him told him to keep talking, but the only words he could think of weren't exactly what he'd had in mind.

Instead, he blurted, "Adria Setting Sun*!"

Immediately, his magic summoned a strangely compelling orb of brilliant gold; he tossed it to the side carelessly, as though the tiny, sun shaped object were hot enough to burn him. Almost immediately, it appeared as though the object was disappearing into the ground. It cast a warm glow around the area—and more than that, on the people in the area. It was beautiful and felt so safe, but the magic only worked if someone was actually watching it.

Adria hoped it was enough of a distraction, and even though he'd apparently awkwardly made up his mind about what he was going to do, that meant he didn't have a lot of time. He didn't know if the same trick worked twice—and if he'd overstayed his welcome, he wasn't going to stick around to find out.

"S-Sorry," he blurted, "We can debate that next time, I just, uh, remembered, I have to be somewhere. Stay out of trouble!"

It was all he could manage before he bolted; he didn't know where he was going, but he knew he was going to get away as quickly as he could.

He wasn't even sure what to make of the meeting he'd just had, but it left him with a faint headache and more confusion than he'd had in a while.

SSBrosB
*Adria summons a baseball sized glowing orb into his hand and is capable of throwing it up to ten feet away. Once thrown, the orb, mimicking a sun, will begin to set. Everyone within a five foot radius of the orb will feel a peaceful warmth wash over them; they will feel compelled to watch the orb set. It is relaxing but not threatening; the orb can do no damage to anyone who comes in contact with it nor the ground beneath it. The attack is primarily distraction and stronger willed individuals can break free of its spell. It will last for thirty seconds and can be used three times per battle.

Arseno was about to say something to the senshi, trying to give the guy the purse and just get out of there, when the senshi cast what seemed to be some sort of spell. Immediately the glowing orb of light distracted Arseno, watching at as it slowly sank into the ground and unable to hear what the senshi had said.

By the time it was over the senshi was nowhere to be found and all Arseno could do was blink his eyes in confusion a few times. “What was up with that senshi?” He could only ask himself that as he looked around to make sure that there would be no surprise attacks. Well that was… weird. Apparently his first meeting with a senshi was more confusing than productive. He wasn’t sure what to make of it, but at least he knew that senshi called out something before they used their magic. Maybe it was to power up the spell or something? He wasn’t sure, but he would have to ask his general about it later.

He sighed and went back into the alleyway to depower and went back out to look around. Shoot. I don’t know what the owner of the purse looks like. But he could hear sirens and so he left the purse next to the thief who had stolen it, running away before the cops could question him.
