When General Benitoite set him up to have a friendly spar with Witherite, Huntite was hardly going to say no. Between respecting the shorter man and knowing he needed more fighting experience anyway he welcomed the chance to spar. The only fighting experience he had under his belt for now was against a Page, the mess with the invasion, a mission at a club, and throwing one punch at one of the youma on the mission for Metallia. Not a very impressive track record.
Since he wasn't sure how long they would be sparing for and what was available at the castle in the first place, he was sure to bring a small pack of bottles of water to the agreed upon training room. When he got there and the other Lieutenant wasn't there yet, having arrived a bit early, he just moved over to one of the walls to set down the water bottles and started to stretch like he was going to go running.

Witherite certainly wasn't against training, though he was against getting his a** handed to him, so he was cautious to a point. He agreed to the training, but was going try not rush in guns a blazing so to speak. He was rather known for it, he was sure. He walked up to agreed upon room in the castle, though he would have preferred not to come to here. He couldn't teleport yet and wasn't terribly fond of being teleported places. Though he was certainly getting better with touch and his temper. How he had mellowed in the past few month. He walked into the room, "Huntite," he greeted as he stretched and got ready to get to business, loosening up and getting into the zone. "Look like we are being put to work so to speak. How do you want to do this?"

He hadn't been waiting long before the other Lieutenant walked in and greeted him before starting his own stretches. "Witherite." He greeted back with a nod. Once they were both done with their stretches he turned so he was facing the blond. "Looks like it, though at least it's not paper work." He said with a shrug.
Paperwork was the bane of anyone's existence after all.
"I'm not sure, I have never sparred with anyone before. How about you?" He asked after a moments thought.

"Paperwork isn't so bad, but I mean I've taken business management classes, soooo ... there are worse things. But, yes sparring is certainly easier, you know long as were not pitted again Beni himself. No thanks." "I've sparred before in class, so I imagine it should be the same. There are different rules to what constitues wins though, ya know depending on whatever. I say we go the touch route, 5 solid blows wins the match?" Witherite arched a brow and took a stance ready to give it, mostly his all. Obviously he wasn't trying to kill Huntite, they were on the same side after all.

"Have you done paperwork beyond the classes?" Huntite asked with an eyebrow raised, curious rather then accusatory or anything else. "It is certainly annoying when you have to turn in reports that range from long to longer depending on the incident." Paperwork for some of the problems that crop up on the job could take a while at times when you didn't know the shortest way to complete it. "Have you spared with him before? I've only gotten to see him fight briefly a few times." He nodded in agreement to the offered rule. "Sounds fair." He said then moved to a ready stance of his own. As he did he eyed the other Lieutenant, looking to be prepared should Witherite attack first.

"Yes," he said, "I've been a freelance photographer for pretty much all of college, so yes I've done quite a bit of paperwork. Clients don't then to like it when you lose things." He chuckled, not that he would. He was fairly organized and always had been. He almost laughed harder when Huntite asked him if he sparred with Beni. After a moment his response was, "I prefer not to blatantly ask for a** whooping, that tends to end badly." Was he confident in his own skills, yes. He was however also aware Beni outmatched him in strenght and power, "Maybe I test my abilities, when I'm a captain. I'll probably benefit from it more then." He figured Huntite would attack first, but that didnt seem to be the case so instead he ran forward and quickly made to get around behind Huntite. He intended to punch him in the back or the kidneys.

Huntite gave a hum in understanding. No one liked having paperwork lost or anything else for that matter. "I take it you've dealt with some of the types of people who flip out when anything so much as seems lost?"
He gave the other lieutenant an amused smile at his response to his question. "True, but then again I'm sure it would be a learning experience one way or another." He half joked then nodded again when the younger man said he might when he was Captain. "At least once someone reaches Captain they usually have a more useful weapon." That was certainly a perk he was looking forward to. No more useless headband.
Huntite dropped that train of thought when Witherite made the first move and he turned with the other man to keep him in his sights but let him spend the energy to get closer. When the other Lieutenant was close enough he kicked out at him.

"Yes, I have definitely dealt with those types, but for the most part people a good about that sort of thing. They don't want to risk their pictures be 'ruined'." Air quotes were used to emphasis ruined and he smirked. He had most pay up front, and refunds only came in partial once he'd done the shot, since he'd done half the work already them. "Yes, an experience that would require I get more bruise balm. But yes I am certainly ready to be rid of the toy wrench. Seriously, who comes up with these things. Go, fight a war with a toy or worse ... I'm surprised we're making it." He wasn't surprised when Huntite tried to keep him in sight, but the kicked excited him slightly because that was the sort of thing he was becoming use to from is classes. He made to block with both forearms, pushing out to knock the leg away before pulling a fist back and throwing it forward at Huntite's ribcage.

Huntite chuckled and nodded with a smirk. He had been tempted to 'lose' or 'ruin' certain peoples paperwork from time to time but had behaved on the job so the fact that Witherite had done so, or at least implied he had, was no surprise. "Maybe he would go easy on you for the first spar?" He offered with a shrug. "At least a toy wrench might be a bit more useful then a headband." He was surprised with as many Lieutenants with useless weapons there were they were indeed still winning. Maybe in other places it's because there is no Order to oppose them so they don't have to worry about it. He wasn't surprised when his kick was blocked seeing how the other had admitted to taking classes. As his leg was pushed back he caught his balance and twisted so the punch would get his arm rather then his ribs. He then twisted back around and used the momentum to speed up a punch to the other Lieutenant.

"Maybe," he said wheeling turning in his brain, "lets find out. We should each ask for a spar and see how it goes. Maybe it will be instructional and we won't both just get our asses handed to us." He gave a chuckle," and the wrench is useless, totally not good for anything." Oh course Wither expected retaliation, he just didn't expect to be so close, but the quick twist made it hard to dodge so he pulled his arms back to block the punch, it landing instead squarely on his arm. He grinned and spun right where he was kicking high to kick Huntite in the shoulder and hopefully knock him down. This kind of fighting, he could get use too. It was nice to be able to spar with someone, best when it was his fiance, but being able to do the moves in daily life was highly useful.

Huntite nodded at the suggestion, turning the idea over in his head. "That would work." He said though his thoughts went back to the injury on Benitoite's leg. "Say we ask in a couple of weeks?" He suggested in return, figuring that two more weeks would help out the General's leg in it's healing. "Plastic can hurt a bit if you hit someone the right way with it at least. Cloth headbands can't even do that." He got a grin on his own face when Witherite retaliated with his block and then the high kick. Before the kick connected he slid a foot to the back and to the side to brace himself to take the kick. This meant that he didn't fall down from it but he did rock back a bit, however he used the opportunity to grab onto the other Lieutenant's leg and pull in an attempt to pull him off balance.

Witherite gave a laugh and nodded, "well yes I've actually taken to throwing it when I use it. It rather pisses other's off too be hit square in the face with it. You should see the looked on some of their faces ... you know before they attempt to end me." When Huntite grabbed his leg, it was hard not to be completely unbalance and he wobbled precariously. He was tempted to lean into the pull and punch him, but noticing the grip the other had on his, he hopped pulling his free leg up quick and attempting to push his foot into Hunt's stomach and basically launch himself off the other. He grinned while he did this, but didn't get to cocky he did have to flip and attempt to land on his feet in case Hunt recovered quickly.

Huntite laughed as well, the image of someone getting beamed in the face in the fore front of his mind. "Good for distracting and for enraging so they get sloppy." He said then shook his head. "I might have to go with you some time, pick a fight, and watch you do it." Since he still had a pretty good stance with his legs he didn't end up on the floor, but the push to his gut still winded him and he ended up rocking back a bit as he let go of the other man's leg. By the time Witherite was back to his feet Huntite had his breath back and with a return grin he punched out at the other man's face.

Huntite certainly seemed like he had decent fighting experience, and pretty well matched with Wither, even with his studying kickboxing, which tempted him to cheat to get the upper hand. This wasn't a fight for his life or anything like that, but still it might be a helpful lesson to his teammate. He grinned and dodged the punch, not blocking but moving to the side to make the punch sail past his face and bring Huntite in close. He balled his fist up, moving toward the other, making to grab his shoulder and bring his fist into Hunt's gut. As soon as he got hold of his teammate though he also intended to start draining him, so he'd get drained and punched. It would be quite the surprise.

Huntite wasn't surprised when Witherite dodged since it was par for the course in the spar they had going on. He wasn't even surprised that the other man was quick to retaliate. Not being surprised however didn't stop him from not being quite fast enough to dodge the hand to his shoulder or the fist to the gut. However the lack of air was soon evidently only part of his worry as he felt the draining his cheating teammate was doing. Well if Witherite wanted to play dirty then he was happy to play dirty as well. With out moving away from the other man he grabbed the hand that punched him and with a viscous smirk brought his knee up, aimed right between Witherite's legs.
