 The night air was cool against her fur. Much different than the warmth of her home. The darkness had her mostly covered, protecting her from any wandering eyes. Her mission was simple. Hunt down the target, execute them and leave unnoticed. It was the type of mission she preferred. No brutal fights and nothing over the top. She could poison his drinking water or slit his throat while he slept. Quick, easy and done. There was still a lot of time to figure out exact game plan. Roughly, she was three days travel from her intended target. Even when she reached him, she knew that she would need to analyze his movements and figure out when it was best to initiate her plan. Her ears perked at the sounds of birds chirping in the distance. Was she spotted, she thought, getting low to the ground. Her crimson eyes scanned the grasslands, looking for anything that seemed off.

 The big Captain yawned and stretched, letting the cool night air ripple through his fur. The rest of his reavers lay scattered about, many sleeping but two, including the female Kizuka, were awake and on watch. The band took turns sleeping and on watch duty, with always two awake at any one time. Ragnard himself didn't bother, but then he wasn't often in the camp for any lenghty period of time. He prefered to scout around on his own while the band rested. Going for long walks just to feel the night all around him. Solitude was an unusual sensation back home and Ragnvard found himself fasinated by it while in the roguelands. Tonight, his only companion was his bird, Haki. The small critter could have ridden on his back or shoulder, had Ragnvard been any other lion, but the big rusty red male forbad it and Haki had long since grown used to keeping his distance. Without even looking to make sure the bird followed, the large Captain moved out of their makeshift camp and set off along a faint game trail, intend on finding whatever the night offered. As Ragnvard stirred, Haki roused himself quickly, running his beak over his dusty feathers with quick efficiancy. He had learned long ago that when Ragnvard was in one of his wandering moods, the lion never waited around for Haki to be ready. With his feathers at least clean enough to provide reasonably trouble-free flight he launche dinto the air just as Ragnvard set off. Sharp eagle eyes kept the lion in sight as the bird circled, wings spread wide and still, knowing that while the lion below was travailing slowly, Haki was expected to stay reasonably close. Turning his head he survayed the land all around, hopeing that maybe he could find something to eat while they explored.

Serael remained close to the ground as she waited to be sure the area was clear. However, right before she was about to stand up again she spotted a lion in the distance. Her attention then went upward to the bird flying above him. She stayed unmoving, silently watching the pair. The lion was not her target, she noted. He was the wrong color. She was certain she wouldn't run into her target so early in her venture, but it was always good to check. It was odd to see a lion out so late and traveling alone. Her eyes narrowed as she silently followed him. If there was one lion, there might be more hidden. She did not want to be ambushed. As she followed him she stayed alert to her surroundings, occasionally glancing up to watch the bird above as well. So far she hadn't heard any signs of other lions or creatures in the area. As she followed, she came to the conclusion that if there were others around, they did not care about her enough to attack. 'Perhaps I could gather some information from the lion,' Serael thought, deciding that showing herself was now the best move. She stood up so she was plainly visible if the lion were to look at her.

Ragnvard wandered without any real direction. The band was returning from a viking, which had been successful enough that ragnvard was content. There had been two thralls captured though neither of them were of interest to him personally. They would be taken back to the pride and given over to the warlord, most likely to be used as pride-thralls, menial workers for the Myrsky Syntynyt. There had also been a good amount of loot, a few pieces of which Ragnvard had claimed for himself, but the band would celibrate well when they got home. He had done his job well.Up above Haki hadn't been keeping an eye on his Master, but had instead been watching the stealthy movements of a lioness not that far away. Red and black, she had been remarkably well disguised even from the air, but Haki was an eagle and one attached to a very violent and strick master. It wasn't worth his hide to miss somehting as obvious as a lin stalking through the undergrowth, no matter how well hidden she was. So the bird had circled lazily, concealing his interest while keeping her firmly in his sights. Suddenly she stood up and Haki dived, swooping low enough to Ragnvard to catch any orders the lion may have for him. Catching movement out of the corner of his eye Ragnvard turned as she stood, his impossing body twisting to face her despite the rather large distance between them. Head up and strong legs placed wide in the dirt, Ragnvard eyed the female curiously. It was rare anyone challanged him these days, even the rogues local to this part of the savanah knew to keep their distance from him and his band. Yet this one seemed not to realise, or not care. That second possibility intrigued him.
