Kae was walking hurriedly, already being filled in on what had been happening by Zira as she made her way to Mara's office. Her disguise was already up, assuming the role she had been playing. They were bound to be in there. Mara was found unconscious and someone had to step up. However, Kae had a different idea in mind, no not that other guy. He couldn't be moved as she liked. This would have to take a more direct approach, having already pulled her strings in just the right places to get some quick cover up information going. It would be enough to pull off her plan, and hopefully by some time at least until things could clear up. Then maybe distract away before they caught the fake info. It was risky, very risky. But her hand had been forced, it was necessary. She barged straight into the office with knocking, expecting more but only finding Asriel. "I figured I'd find you here..." she bluffed unassumingly. "You needn't worry. This is getting taken care of by a special division within SIU. Think of it like a secret services. I'll be taking command as this has gotten too far out of hand. It's time we start taking a different approach things. Hopefully you don't mind, but not that it entirely matters. If you're ready, I'd like to talk to you about what is going to happen from this point. Some very necessary measures." She stood, shifting her weight to one leg as she folded her arms, stern look showing authority as she waited for an answer. Looking on it, she already knew she was not going to pave a good road in her friendships if her plan was allowed to be enacted. But it's what the humans were going to want to see. Action. And progress.
Asriel looked up alarmed that slowly changed to confusion and outrage as Kae continued to talk . He barely noticed that he was crinkling the sheets in his hand. Special division? Had Mara created a special division for her sister and was now trying to get him replaced? Goodness even the bitchiness was genetic. "What the hell are you talking about Kae? I received no orders from command about some "secret service" or you taking over at all. Last I check, as Mara's -second- I am to take command until told other wise and not by -you-" he said angrily while pointing at her.
Kae stared at him, blinking lightly. "So instead of phoning them about this, you're just going to stand there and question me. I can see why they are putting me in charge now... This is a fairly big mess, but I've honestly dealt with bigger. Though, not one as public as this, but not a problem." She moved to the desk and picked up the receiver, dialing a number and then handing Asriel the phone. "Well, go on and ask them, you'll see everything is in order here. Maybe they simply forgot to tell you, maybe they didn't feel it as important to inform you right away." She shook her head at the situation, then watched for his to take the phone. She was thanking herself for assuming a higher ranked identity earlier to pull those strings about now, figuring he would eventually question her. "The special division is hired by your commanding officers, so let them tell you that I'm higher than both of you in all this... Unless you want to contest them and threaten your position in the company." She motioned to the phone, and stared at him with cold eyes. "I have already been briefed about the situation at hand and have been given orders to enact necessary measures to ensure SIU isn't going to take the fall for this. While still keeping at Mara's interests as it's imperative we start utilizing Metas to fight the Metas. And not like this child's play SIU is used to. While forming lasting relationship with the Metas in SIU was a good idea, there was also a lot of push, and you wonder why you all pushed them right out of the door into the others arms. Honestly, this is fairly salvageable. They are confused. A trait that can easily be manipulated in their lower tiered minds. Like animals, but even vicious dogs can be rehabilitated into upstanding show pups." She then narrowed her eyes with a bit of intrigue. "Let me explain to you what has happened here.... Tell me, Lieutenant Colonel, have you ever heard of rat torture. It's quite an astonishing thing really. It's where one places a rat in a box, one of the walls of that box is flesh. When you begin to heat that box, the rat finds a great need to escape at any means possible just to save itself from the heat. Once it finds one of those walls is pliable, it chews it's way through. Fairly graphic, I know. But apply that to SIU and it's relations with Metas. SIU as a whole placed too much heat on the wrong Metas, the ones they allied with while seeming to let all the enemy Metas slip through their fingers." She thought for a moment, her heart rate rose only slightly but she wouldn't show any change in her commanding presence. "But that's not the case at the moment. You have no allied Metas who are willing to work for you... Actually work for you. Something I can remedy. And I already know you have an enemy still held tightly in your grasp." She shifted her eyes to the desk for a moment. "Tell me, Lieutenant Colonel, is he stable enough to be interrogated." A slight grin edged at her lips for a moment as she stared at him once more, letting her words spinning metaphorical webs around his mind as she placed herself firmly within this setting, solidifying her stance as a bit more allied with SIU's goals that Mara had seemed to be.
Asriel stared at her in confusion and just shook his head "...that's a bunch of garbage. we tried that with Andy. Trying again with Lucien is just asking for a fail and have him be rescued by the Renegades. Something we haven't stopped yet " he pulled the phone and checked the number before glaring at Kae and talking to the person on the phone. Slowly his face change from angery to outrage then confusion as he talked moving away from Kae even stepping out of the room. Eventually he came back angry but defeated, the phone in his hand and just placed it back down. "Fine." he said with a glare at the phone. "You check out. So I am telling you this now. I usually don't real with the metas. That was Mara's project pure an simple so you have free reign. I stay with the research part of the base and I am telling you now that releasing Lucien for another attempt it stupid. The renegades get notice and we will be attacked again ...or it works and then you're back to trying to get criel to reincide their bounty "

Kae smirked, "Baby steps, my dear Lieutenant Colonel. I assure you, this won't be another repeat of Andy. There were too many things at play there, as I heard. No, I will be interrogating him myself." Her grin widened slightly as it was pretty clear she wasn't planning anything as calm and subtle as Kylar had managed. "Don't worry about him... I'll get what I need from him, break him down to his core, then build him back up to be the perfect example of what the new face of SIU can do. At least Norcrest will have something to show for it. I don't care if the bounty on him is rescinded or not, it's a show of strength, isn't it? The only thing Criel seems to pay attention to. Once they see how he can be changed, we insist they raise the bounties. Double them if necessary. We push the renegade, strengthen our walls . Then with enough heat on them, they'll only have one way to dig: where it's weakest. And from what I saw, they don't exactly stand as a cohesive unit. They'll find their selves more pliable and do what rats do best." She stared at him, a cold and calculating expression as her grin faded. "I'll let you know once I dig up everything that you can use in your research then." she commented shortly, watching his reaction as she stood still and structured. An unwavering figure of authority and power.
Asriel frown but didn't look as angry as he had before. As if that idea had more appeal to him now, exactly what the others had been pushing Mara. A long as thing starts getting more stable instead of just inviting random metas and getting things like Kylar. It was obvious that he was more onboard as he looked thoughtful and nodded. "Strength, that is what we need. Something Mara wanted to build up as an after thought" he sigh, the anger obviously leaving his face now. "Good, just send them over to (name) and we will look into it. He should he up for interrogation when ever you need" he said with a hint more excitement. Metas they can control..that would be safe.
No more problems like Ree or Kage. Still....this was Mara's sister, didn't she had memories with Tri or something? actually... he never heard Mara mentioning a sister . Some adopted pure blood or other yes but sister? it was odd...maybe he should look into it a little anyways. Can't be trusting anyone new now.
