Frequently Asked Questions

Alrighty, folks. So, this is where we will put all the information that you guys need to know about that is slowly becoming fleshed out through the RP and isn't in the main story or the "new people come here" information. So, anyone can submit questions to be answered, and I will post them up here. Also, I will try my best to catch things as they are being added through RP and OOC talks. Hopefully it will make the universe here more in depth and immersive.

For those of you interested in having your questions / snippets of information put up here, please PM them to me, and I will go through them and organize them to be placed up on this page! =]

Questions

1) I've read a lot about these "lines" used to upgrade your character, but what are they??
Alright, so this IS technically in the "Stat Information" section, under the "New People Come Here" forum, but a lot of people are missing it. SO, for the people who managed to oversee that little tid-bit, I will put it here as well:
When you make a post, you must copy and paste that post to "Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Apache Open Office" all of which work, and then set your font to: "Times New Roman" with the size at 12.
Delete all paragraph spacing, so that it is just a brick of text (not the spaces between words, just paragraphs) and the number of lines in the word document, is how many lines your post is worth. =]

2) How does B.A.I.T.R identification work in order to tell Baiters apart, or to give them access to services without cost?
Each B.A.I.T.R Operative (or baiter), carries a DNA specific card that identifies them as who they are, and what level of operative that they are. These cards are given after passing the H.A.L.F Process, and the man who creates them, Quan Yeun, is the only one who can alter or improve them (something that must be done after gaining any further rank as a baiter). This "card" seems completely ordinary--just a black rectangular piece of plastic, however, the technician will take a piece of DNA, usually a hair from your head, and upon utilizing a set of skills the Yuen family has perfected for the organization over the years, the card will make a transformation.

This transformation is very small for the Trainee baiters, and usually it will stay in its base form of a card, though upon ranking up through the organization, the identification card may take on completely different forms. Whatever it is that your I.D Badge becomes, it can be scanned by any business or baiter checkpoint to bring up your financial status in the company, basic personal information, and rank. Just keep in mind while using this card, Trainees wouldn't be able to go out and buy massive houses or something with this funding. You'd be put in a little apartment at first, as well as have the financial backing to pick up a weapon or two to suit yourself up. As you rank up in the organization more expensive purchases would be sanctioned by the rank.

3) Can I have my character bio state that I lived in a city not mentioned in any location you have created?
The short answer: No. You can not. Any large city that might have existed before the world went to hell has been effectively destroyed. If it hasn't been destroyed--then it is likely one of our main cities--one of the cities where the B.A.I.T.R Bases are located in each continent. No, the longer answer would be a tentative yes. It is possible to come from elsewhere. My main character, as an example, was born and raised in Bergerac, France. This, however is a very small farming community with little to no technology anywhere, and protected by my character's parents who were both fully fledged baiters. There are small communities, where large cities are not present, who have managed to survive with one or two baiters stationed there at all times to protect them but, these are very dangerous, and very unstable locations. There would be very little in the way of shops or schools or anything like that--think of pioneer villages. The world has fallen, people. B.A.I.T.R could only get 1 main base set up in each continent before it did fall. These cities are standing--yes, but in this kind of world, without B.A.I.T.R's protection, there are very few large areas with any sort of technological equipment that can survive the A.I.'s onslaught.

Also, if you have a special circumstance you would like worked out where you want a certain type of location where your character is from, but you don't know if it works with the RP story / setting / timeline, or anything like that, PM me directly. I will tell you if we can or cannot make it work. And don't get pissed off with me if it doesn't work, because you're joining my RP, and I am not going to change the universe I have built to please you. If you can't adapt and create a character within the universe that you've been given, well...then that is the real problem. With that being said, however, most things can be worked out, rather easily. We have a character who is an alien for goodness sakes, so I am pretty sure most things will be able to be worked out. I am a reasonable fellow. ^__^

4) How exactly does being revived work?
Alrighty. So, this is something everyone kind of has their own idea about, and I let that fly for a bit, but I am just being a lazy b*****d. It aught to be the same with everyone, so this is the process that each character should technically be going through during your revival:

Your body is stripped down into particles and you are teleported back to the B.A.I.T.R Headquarters. It is here you are sent into the Rebirthing Chambers, where your body is re-assembled in a tube-like contraption. In this tube, your body is grown back to the state of its last pinnacle health, and it is done while the tube is full of water. You are not conscious at this stage, and you are naked. They drain the tube when your body has been perfectly put back together, and then they take you out and put you on an operating table.

On the table, a scanner goes over your body and looks for any imperfections, fixing any errors and constructing your clothing you were wearing before your last battle, before resuscitating you into the world. You will wake up fully clothed, and the staff will allow you to leave, though your body will feel the pain of death, being extremely sore in every spot that you had been injured before, even though there are no injuries.
