Within the world of Zyl lies a mysterious race of women known as Kre'sal (Cree-sal). Beautiful women who are often rivaled to be great magic users or fighters. Women with octagon shaped gemstones located below their belly buttons. Smooth and flat these gems are only seen by their chosen lovers or if they decide to wear revealing attire. Crystals, of various colors, that connect to their wombs, these women are known as the "Crystals of Fertility" in their language. With the help of a chosen mate crystal shards are gathered and fed into the crystal upon their abdomen. Causing it to become energy for their child in their womb and causing their bellies to grow with life.
The first Kre'sal was discovered by a wanderer. Trapped within a large crystal she was freed by his touch and together they gave birth to a new race in the world. The child grows according do what crystal shards it's fed through the intimate process of Touch. The lover who is chosen is granted a special gauntlet upon touching the gemstone below her belly button. The spark of his DNA flows within her causing her to become pregnant with a child.
Or one is conceived through the natural way, but the crystal is very sensitive. Only the one chosen to help bear children, and the one chosen to become a Kre'sals mate, is allowed to touch the crystal. It is an act of insult and rudness for others outside of their mate to touch. This is why their crystal gems are kept hidden. The gauntlet is a special device that gather's crystal shards. Together they travel to the caverns, located around the Kre'sal village, and the one wearing the gauntlet harvests the shards through the large crystals.
Then during the Touch the gauntlet is softly placed upon the stomach of a Kre'sal and the shards are fed to the life within. This phenomenon causes the abdomen to swell a month in size. Once the process is finished the gauntlet is removed fore no more crystals can be fed to the child. Until the swelling of next month. Kre'sal stay pregnant for three precious years, slowly growing and swelling as their lover chooses which crystal shards to give their child. It is a slow process yet once the child is born the process cannot happen until a year later.
Kre'sal are a slow populating race of beautiful women. Yet during this time in their lives it is the most intimate and precious. They leave the village around the age of eighteen moons, some older, to search for a mate to bring back before the "Crystal Harvest". Some Kre'sal are killed and hunted during this process, their gemstones gorily taken from them after they perish and carved into crude things like jewelry. This is why they search for powerful mates to protect them and the future ones that they are to bear out of a loving touch.
