You know you're a shut in when you've spent the last few weeks hanging out inside your place barely making contact with the outside world. Heading out once a week at a specific time to get food and maybe pick up something else that might help out. You know she hadn't made any efforts to try to get in touch with anyone, meta or otherwise. If anything, her appearance in the courtyards would be similar to seeing a ghost. Someone wandering around with no purpose, staring at others as she passed them by with so much as a sound.

If anything the sight of all the new faces made her rather... judgmental of herself. I mean just walking up to someone and trying to talk with them by putting a voice directly in their head and possible announce "Hey I'm telepathic and I'm probably listening to all of your thoughts".

She could only let out a deep sight, trying to clear her own anxieties as she sat in from of the main building. She needed to put herself outside at least, try interacting with people in the outside world. Get involved or something! Aaaah, who was she joking? She'd never bother going away from the sanctuary from a long time. It was a nice safe place with people she could eventually get to know.

Eventually.

Kae had finally let her curiosity get the better of her as she made it a point to finally visit the place she once created so many years ago, the academy she opened with her sister to home to orphaned beings they had once created to repopulate the true races, only ending in failure in that respect but also creating an entirely new race of beings. She sighed as made her way to the gates of the academy as they were set open and entered into the grounds. She had prepared herself into a disguise, her eyes a gold color and her ears human as she had fairly normal clothing on, a tshirt and jeans, something she wasn't quite well known for. She slowly walked up the path. 'It's been a long time.... maybe too long...' she thought as she sighed. '...I wonder if... she's buried here....'

Syth has been laying down for a bit, pondering her own thoughts for a moment before hearing someone's footsteps as they made their way closer to the Sanctuary. She didn't catch her first thoughts, rather the sight of the woman caught her attention.

Her features were oddly familiar, from her face to the shape of her body. There was something unduly familiar about this human with strange gold eyes. Getting up off the grass, making sure she was well within sight as she began to slowly approach this person, as to not try to scare them off. As unlikely as it would ever be she didn't want to start a second great war by scaring someone who was actually a great leader visiting this tiny campus.

"Are you lost?" She put her voice right inside the woman's head, hoping not to startle her, "Do you need help getting anywhere?"

Kae looked around, a look of disgust on her face as she inspected some of the overgrown and unkempt as she sighed and shook her head, her thoughts floated back to old memories of her time here. She turned to move on when a voice echoed into her mind. A familiar tug at her memories as her heart ached a bit. She whipped her head around before setting eyes on a familiar purple haired Meta. Her expression flickered through confusion, surprise, and ultimately sadness. Her eyes narrowed in pain, "Syth?" she spoke softly, forcing herself to walk towards her slowly. "Is that... you?" she asked, her breath quickened and her heart was pounding. 'It's me... Kae Broken.' she thought gently as she closed her eyes and opened them to now show they were red.

"Yes, but how do you know my..." She stopped in her words as Kae's mind revealed the name that was hadn't been in her head for a good decade and some. Oh this was strangely awkward now, having the mother-in-law of your deceased lesbian wife in front you after over two decades of no contact after your wife had somehow managed to get herself killed. Honestly she never really pretended to bother with the humans, preferring isolationism herself.

But right now, she stammered to even try to find a response to the woman in front of her. What should she even say... sorry? No she wasn't sorry, it wasn't like she got Alice killed. I mean she didn't make contact with her for two decades but that street goes both ways and she'll be damned if she doesn't take all the blame for this.

Small talk seemed like a good way to continue the conversation. Yep, small talk!

"So, how have you been? I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen you here sooner."

Kae stood there, staring before shifting her eyes to the ground, regret in her heart as she tried to think of what to say. She opened her mouth to say something, but then the question came. "I... " she hesitated, she thought about Alice, and that Zira had recently told her that she suspected Alice's soul was trapped in Melody's body. No, she couldn't just open with that. "It's hard to come back to a place that fill you with so much pain..." she commented, thinking for a moment as she then widened her eyes. Aw, crap, her thoughts, right. Syth wasn't the same as Zira, an indiscriminate, someone who listened without question or input. Syth was another person, someone with feelings. Kae looked to her suddenly through a look of sadness. "..Alice... she..." she couldn't find the words to explain it as she stood there awkwardly trying to find the write thing to say, her mind racing as she had to keep reminding herself that Syth could likely hear it all.

Alice's soul was trapped in a body?

"What!?" She couldn't help but stammer at hearing that information. Yet trying to make sense of it was nothing she could do. Inside in someone name Melody's body. Digging a bit deeper just to find out that she was just a small child meta that looked remarkably similar to Alice.

What a strange feeling that was.

"Alice's soul is in Melody. Yes your head is like an open book right now," She responded rather dully, trying her best to remind Kae that she was after all a telepath. Making a motion to grab at her should, her eyes staring right into Kae, trying to make sense of what was going through her head.

"Calm down and try to tell me what you mean by that."

Kae flinched as Syth questioned suddenly. Yep, she had heard every thought of hers. It had been a while since she'd been around another telepath, one that wouldn't just stand complacently and never judge her for what she thought. Syth could very well do that and more if she truly wanted to. Syth mentioned Kae's head being like a open book and Kae nodded, "...i'm....aware." she confessed in a bit of nervousness that she masked into her stern look, however pain still won over as she closed her eyes. "I'd been researching.. how to get her back. How to use what I knew of Manes and Malices to bring her soul back to the living world. But as I've come to find out, her soul has done just that. Alice became a Mane and is inside a young child, Melody, Rasiel's daughter... Melody doesn't know. And it seems that Alice can't remember what she's doing here or who she is... but reminding her of things, people, situations, it brings her memories back easily. I came here to see if there was anything I could find to help her remember everything. And then I found you. Alice is... she can be saved. If she gets enough power from Melody, Alice can reform her own body... we can bring her back." she explained slowly, tears in her eyes. "She's in Norcrest with SIU research facility, on the other side of Tretera. She's safe."

You could only imagine the excitement stirring around inside Syth's head as she heard the news. Alice could be brought back! Though it remained a little weird that she'd essentially be bringing back someone from the dead and thus starting some awful terrible mistake that would end akin to a terrible horror movie.

Consequences be damned though, she was going to get her wife back, "Then we should be headed that way! The sooner I'm there the sooner we might have a chance at this and... and we can try to get a new life going." Oh the thoughts that were running amok in her head right now. The things they could do together, the fact she wouldn't be alone inside a tiny apartment anymore.

Aaaaah it was too tempting to just warp the two of them there right now, but between the distance and the fact that she'd rather be conscious when she to see Melody she'd rather not take the risk, "I assume you have a way to get there sooner than later,"

Syth seemed more than eager to get there as soon as possible. Something that warmed her heart, as well as caused it to ache. "We can go right now, I have a car parked a ways outside the gates, it'll be some time since it's on the other side of Tretera, but it'll get us there." she explained, a smile faintly across her lips, but then it faded. "I just want you to be aware that the way this works, is that we can't abstain her yet. How to explain it.... She came back for a reason.. because she felt unfulfilled or regretted something big in her life. I don't know what that thing was, and unless you know what it was, we will have to be careful that we don't accidentally fulfill that reason she stayed. Not until she can form her own body. Because if she's still inside Melody and she is resolved, she won't have an anchor, and we will truly lose her forever." she detailed what she knew of the situation. "Can you handle that?" she asked calmly, trying to make sure that Syth was aware of the possibilities and what could come depending on what happened. "If you are ready for this, then we can leave right now. And honestly, I'd suggest you join SIU. That way you can stay close to her until she has enough energy to be whole again. Don't tell anyone about her. If you have to tell anyone, Mara is the only one you should tell, but only if it's necessary. They are good people, and they are fighting for a good cause, but not everyone in their facility is pure. Ahhh, Look, just come with me, I'll get you introduced and we'll figure it out from there."

Well it wasn't like she was going to turn down a chance to get Alice back into the physical realm. Nodding quietly and taking a few steps away from the sanctuary, a bland return though considering she didn't do much besides hole herself up in her room.

At least she was with a familiar face she could trust and talk to. And she had some plan at trying to get Alice back.

"Consider me silent on it then," She responded simply, a hint of sarcasm in her message as she continued to take steps, inciting her willingness to join along. Yet there were some troubling thoughts in her head.

Alice was nothing more than a spirit inhabiting a body of a meta child. That meant that, from previous experiences, she could take over from time to time. The energy required for Alice to create her own body would be great and likely won't happen for some time so wouldn't her existence at the facility be a setback? Then again there was already family there so simply being reunited wouldn't send Alice off to the great beyond.

And then the message that not everyone was pure. She knew what that meant. She was rather terrified by what it meant, not that she'd show it, biting her lip.

Kae nodded slowly as Syth confirmed her understand of the situation. She began to lead her to the car she had commandeered for just this trip. As they got in the car, she strapped the seat belt over her and then looked into the rearview mirror, the image of the academy she once opened many years ago clear in its view, a frown finding its way across her face as she sighed then closed her eyes for a moment. The memories of simpler times when the most strife in her life was idiotically hounding her own daughter about her love of a another woman. It wasn't without it's fighting at times, Rasiel being more than a handful on that note. She remembered all the times he had attacked her and Syth and began to wonder maybe it wasn't so farfetched that he'd finally killed her all those years ago. She shook her head lightly, it didn't matter now, she was still here in this world and they could bring her back. She could finally have Alice back.. the real Alice.

Turning to Syth for a moment, she frowned once more, "Do you happen to know sign language?" she asked suddenly, a look of slight concern on her face as she thought for a moment.

"A little" She responded to Kae's simple question, "But its not really useful when a lot of people don't know it."

Yet, there was a simple answer to it. Focusing on her own power for a moment, her horn giving off a soft glow, bringing into her hands a simple black pen and a green notebook. She had been thinking about concerns about making others aware of her telepathic abilities.

Sensing what Kae was thinking she could only turn around to look at her, thinking about an answer to her meandering thoughts. Though perhaps it was best to keep her metaphorical mouth shut for now. Nevermind that one of her daughters is a terrible threat to Meta and Human relations.

At least the car was nice and comfortable, "Do you have a job in mind for me at this place?"
There we go, simple non-serious conversation.

Kae cranked the car and began to drive, keeping conversation with Syth as they drove. ”The important part is that I do. So I can essentially be a translator in absence of using your telepathy with the humans there. I figure they might s**t bricks if they found out there are Metas with telepathy that can delve into people’s minds.” she spoke as she kept her eyes on the road. Though, the soft glow did take a bit by surprise as she glanced over at the notebook and pen she had summoned. ”Or that could work to.” That’s right, she used to use those when she was a child with Alice, before she had a good ground on her own telepathy. The years really had flown by. She nodded, knowing that Syth understood what she was getting at. ”I suppose I will keep you as an assistant to what I do there at the moment. I’m just building robots. Oh, s**t.. they have the files of everyone that attended the academy. We will have to give you a different name and tell them you have a different item. That’s probably for the best right now until we can sort things out with Mara.” She exhaled deeply, trying to plan things as best as possible.

A few hours later, they entered the city limits and Kae paused for a moment, eyes widening slightly. ”Well, Zira says the parley went bad. Mara is unconscious and her two adopted Metas are missing… Ree is being pinned for betrayal.. Assassination.” she sighed heavily in frustration as she reached over Syth a bit, digging into the glove compartment as her hand swam through a large pile of passports and identifications. The car swerved only a bit but she kept control as she grabbed a pair of ids and then closed the glove box. ”Change of plans… I’ve been pretending to be Mara’s sister, but I’m going to have to step up and try and take control of this damn facility. Some things are going down, so some guidelines. In case this turns on us to, hopefully not. I have a lot of confidence in my abilities so we should be fine. But if things go bad… take the kids and get out of there. There’s three. Hexxis and Melody are sister. Then there’s Leukos, your grandson. Get them out and I will do what I can to make sure you have that out.” She then began to make a few quick phone calls, assuming different identities that she had built up to try to pull enough strings to put herself in a position where she could attempt a taking over of command. She then paused looking to Syth for a moment. ”…this is risky of me…. They might find out who I really am…” She kept a stern look, viewing the road as the headquarters came into view. ”Don’t know what exactly I’m going to do if that happens. Didn’t think it would come to all this….”

Risks, risks, and even more risks. Would they flip a s**t over her, likely not. She didn't deal in spreading rumors based off what people thought, not that she could figure out too much. Though, once she had muttered about the fact they had files on every Meta that had gone through the academy she couldn't help but want to dive deeper into Kae's head.

But for a few hours they sat in silence. Any attempt made by her to dig into Kae's head was blocked out, the maze too complex for her to figure out. Taking time to nap or stare out the window. Even lightly tapping her own against the window out of mindless boredom. Then Kae spoke up, a confused face on Syth as she tried to figure out who in the hell had contacted her. Admittedly she wondered how for a few seconds, forgetting she was likely not the only Telekinetic meta around.

Kae was now rather serious, and honest, about the entire situation. An amount of trust she figured she hadn't earned. Zira, Mara, Ree, Hexxis, Melody, and Leuko. The car swerving didn't distract her attention all the while she focused on her own thoughts. Or rather, focused on not staring a freakout while inside the metal car barreling down the road. Why in the hell was her own grandson here?

Well, nevermind she'd never seen him. Still she'd doubt Lucian would've just gone out of his way to have a kid to only give it up. Pot, Kettle, Black

Though she did have advice to offer, "Just play your role." She comforted as she looked head, figuring out her own plan. Three kids, many miles between them and the sanctuary. She'd risk killing herself just trying to get them out the easiest way, "I'm your assistant, remember,"
