Krynn had finished dressing and come out to meet Rajin in the club, but had been given a note to meet him at his penthouse instead. Going over the address carefully, and then deciding to simply put it into her rental car's navigator, she found the place some time later. She sat in the car, letting it run for a few moments before taking a deep breath and killing the engine. Her outfit was simple and plain - a black shirt with a crew neck, and a pair of jeans - but she found herself feeling uncomfortable in the garb now that she was at Rajin's home. Nice car, Thought the snake, glancing to the vehicle she could only assume was her husband's - flashy, expensive.. just his taste these days.
Taking another deep breath and releasing it, the lamia climbed out of the car and pulled her hair back into a loose ponytail. Catching up will be nice, She reminded herself, half tempted to get back into the car and go back to her hotel. Krynn convinced herself that the experience wouldn't be as bad as she thought, and put one foot in front of the other, getting herself to the door. Her knuckles rapped against the door, and Krynn dropped it afterward, holding her hands behind her back now that she had knocked. Her mind buzzed with everything that hadn't been said, but her face didn't betray her and she held a smile as she waited for a response.

After dealing with the scummy patron that touched his wife outside of the Temple, Rajin left the premise in his overly fancy car. An obvious luxury sports car for specifically tailored to fit the ifrit's expensive taste. The casino CEO then returned to his penthouse to prepare for his guest of the hour. Everything had to be perfect. Thankfully, Rajin had Dok to keep everything tidy and perfect while he was gone. Just in case, the ifrit called ahead of time to make sure the hobgoblin maid had everything spotless before he arrived.
Taking the express VIP elevator up, Rajin looked over the city of Janhall as the elevator shot him through a giant glass tube. The city was all lit up. What use to be a quaint little town was turning into a metropolis. Thanks in no small part to the ifrit himself. In a short moment, Rajin reached the top and exited the elevator to his half of the giant two level penthouse. The bottom half was reserved for the ifrit's chimera roommate, Cassia. Surely, her room was dirty as can be. Rajin had the hobgoblin go check on the chimera's roommate. while he prepared a couple of drinks for his guest.
In no time at all, there was a knock on Rajin's door. With a couple of glasses of fine wine, the ifrit answered the door with bright inviting smile. "Hello, my ribbon..." The ifrit paused briefly, studying what the lamia was wearing. It looked so...casual. It wasn't bad, but it was just so different to him. He had seen clothing like this since their days in high school. "..snake. Come in." The ifrit rebounded effortlessly, letting Krynn come inside the fiery red penthouse.

The snake tipped her chin up just slightly as she waited, and she still thought of retreating.. she had even taken a step backwards when the door opened. Despite her urge to leave, her eyes held light as she looked slightly up to him, and she pushed a loose strand of hair behind her ears. Krynn kept her smile for him, but the lamia felt frustrated the more he called her his. They had mutually agreed to stop putting in effort, and yet here she was.. and there he was with drinks. Seeing his look, she glanced down to her outfit briefly and her smile cracked into more of a grin.
"I can't walk around in lingerie all the time," Krynn laughed, but entered the penthouse and blinked at the design. Red everywhere, much like her first room and similar to a chamber they shared briefly.. One of the snake's hands moved to the gem without thought, and her brow furrowed some. "Raj," Said the woman gently, and she turned her head to him now that she soaked up the crimson in the room. There was something else in the nickname - an airy tone that poked through her voice, something to gain his attention. "How have you been? What have you been doing?" The questions were genuine and soft spoken, and she hadn't realized she still held the necklace, as if protective of the jewelry.
While she was sure that whatever the ifrit had been up to would only disappoint her, she couldn't help but want to know how he had fared since their separation. Krynn could see the obvious - he was wealthier, he was more confident, he was.. well, he was even a little better looking - but she wondered of the details in his life, of the sort of life he lived. The lamia, caught up in her thoughts of her husband, began idly rubbing the pendant with her thumb. If she hadn't asked Zetaya not to give her updates anymore, she might have known these things.. well, it wasn't so much that she asked. It took some heavy begging for the genie woman to stop telling Krynn about him.. and even still the woman managed to bring Rajin up - or toss Krynn right into his city.

"No, I suppose not." Rajin reluctantly agreed, closing the door behind him. "But that doesn't mean you can't try." He whispered under his breath, imagining the snake living everyday in lingerie. Rajin took a sip from the wine glass in his hand and held out the other to Krynn, waiting for her to take it. The ifrit then took a seat on one of many fine furniture, sipping his wine. When asked about what he had been up to since they had split, he turned his head and looked out the window. "Not many people call me that." He responded wistfully, a diminishing smile sewing the gap on his mouth. Hearing his pet name spoken by an old flame was like feeling a strong gust of chilly wind. Nevermind that his mother sometimes called the ifrit that, but Krynn was a different story. Rajin quickly returned to his previous mood, however. "If my mother hasn't bombarded you with information about me like, like she does you, then I guess you can see for yourself. I've been in the high life."
Rajin hopped off from where he sat walked to large window showing all of Janhall in its glimmering night lights. "I've come so far from my humble startings at the academy. I run what will be a growing empire. Owning the finest money can buy, eating like a king, living like royalty, and just enjoying myself." Rajin swirled the crystal glass of fermented grapes. The liquid whirling around in tiny hypnotic waves. "Lately though, I've been growing a little bored. All this wealth and success could only provide a temporary rush. I fear it's slowing down now. So imagine my surprise when I see you." The ifrit's fiery eyes locked with the lamia. "I dare say it was a nice change of pace. I thought I couldn't have cared yet, you show up and prove me wrong. So, cheers to that."
Most the ifrit's honeyed words were surprisingly true. As of late, all of his fame and glory seemed to be fading. The fast life was slowing. No matter how many beautiful woman Rajin could bed, he still felt something missing. No matter how much alcohol or narcotic pleasure he partook, he felt empty afterwards. Even with all the luxury his money could buy, it felt only meaningful a little while.

Krynn blinked once he offered her the glass, having been just a small amount lost in her own thoughts, but took it with the hand that had been on the pendant. Her smile didn't lessen, but she tilted her head as she watched his fade and she spoke as she took a seat near Rajin, "Not many call me a snake," She gave a little laugh and sipped her glass. When he smiled again and spoke, it was Krynn's turn to lose a bit of her smile. Her cheeks darkened some but he spoke the obvious - he was living well.. and he probably knew she was, too. "I, uh," She glanced to the window as well, watching the lights of the city, "I try to keep things professional with her, she can be very involved," Her mind sifted through all the times Zetaya found it her moral duty to have the two meet, even when the flames between them had gone out.. She took another drink of the wine, sitting back a little.
As he hopped up, the snake turned her head to watch him and listened as he spoke. He really was doing well.. Krynn hadn't realized just how successful Rajin had become in her absence from his life. She smiled at his achievements, but her brow furrowed the more he spoke and her eyes showed a concern for the ifrit.. and then another brightness to them when he locked eyes with her. Krynn lifted her glass just slightly and the corners of her mouth spread further, "Well, if all the money you could ask for isn't enough," She laughed some, "I suppose seeing me in a strip club would just have to do, huh?" Another lighthearted laugh, followed by another sip of the wine.
She didn't bother to talk about herself - she guessed Zetaya said enough for her, but by the way he spoke, her's seemed to bring her far more pleasure. Krynn was content to always be on the move, to go from photo shoot to promotion to whatever else was on her busy schedule. She had submerged herself in the world of fashion and mild fame and was happy with the life she was leading, never keeping friends and hardly making acquaintances - but always being known or recognized. Krynn found meaning in the work she did, and hoped only to keep climbing. With Rajin already at the top, he didn't have any higher to go, but Krynn was still reaching.

The ifrit grinned lightly. "I wouldn't mind seeing that more often." He said finishing off his glass of wine and setting it down. Rajin then looked at the empty glass and rolled his eyes. He felt nothing. "I need something other than this grape juice." He said walking back to his bar where the impressive array liquor sat. "Do you want anything else? Maybe something stronger; rum, cognac, vodka...ooooh!" The ifrit knelt down and reached for a rather macabre looking bottle. "I got this really special imported viper whiskey from Laos. Rumor has it that some blood and venom from an infamous lamia was used its making."
Rajin drew a couple of shot glasses from the bar and placed them down. "I somewhat believe it, considering how the drink puts me into a certain mood." The bottle itself was a grisly looking color with the severed head of a large viper snake sitting at the bottom. There were also a couple of large fangs floating around in the bottle. The bottle itself looked like it could fit a whole human head inside. Despite it's grotesque appearance, Rajin almost seemed happy to bring it out. "I seem to recall mutual aversion to those of the venomous types. Care for a drink?"

It seemed the lamia had finished her glass as well, and she shrugged to the genie, "I could use something stronger," As he listed off his stock, Krynn smiled and stood, moving over to the bar. She placed her glass on the counter and leaned against it, noting his excitement over the special whiskey he pulled out, "I like whiskey either way, but you sure know how to pitch a drink," She laughed and stood up a little straighter, taking in the sight of the bottle. It was rather large, with a viper's head as an ornament inside. She saw the fangs that also decorated the inside, and her nose wrinkled a little. Rajin was right, the boa wasn't fond of many vipers - save for a specific little architect in her family - and perhaps she would find enjoyment in drinking their kind.
Krynn looked down to the shot and was a little weary of it now that she both saw and smelled the alcohol. Deciding she would rather continue this endeavor at least a little intoxicated, she tried to remember the last time they drank together and could only think of encounters that ended pleasantly. Looking back up to Rajin with a grin, she wrapped a thumb and two fingers around the shot, "I can only imagine how you acquired such a whiskey, but I'm happy to share it with you," Krynn raised her shot a little in toast with him.
In truth, she probably shouldn't have been drinking tonight. Krynn had a few wardrobe calls to attend to in the morning, some more modest lines from Zetaya that were - as always - very important to the lamia. It just wasn't professional to show up to such things in less than perfect condition, but a glass of wine and one shot couldn't hurt.. Right? Krynn had already decided it couldn't, but it was late already and the night had only just begun between them. In the back of her mind, she continued to reminisce on far more pleasant times they had shared, and there was a shine to her eyes that might have given away that her thoughts were a little elsewhere.

It seemed as though Rajin was hitting the lamia on all the right points. The fire genie smiled with his eyes as he poured the liquor into the two shot glasses for the both of them. If he could just make the snake imbibe a little more, than she must have been as good as his already. These were like some of the dirty tricks, Rajin used in his business practices. All in order to get what he wanted. Even if the ifrit's conscience was small, something did go off in his head.
"Bottoms up." Rajin cheered, clinking his shot with Krynn's. The amber liquid rippled in the tiny glass before sliding into the ifrit's mouth and down his throat. A keen burning sensation lit up in his eyes. If one asked if the ifrit was lying about actually venom being used in the whiskey, Rajin would answer honestly that he thought there was. The mood he talked about before letting the two them drink was a certain aphrodisiac effect the ifrit believed came from the supposed venom in the whiskey.
"Now that stuff stings. Wouldn't you agree?" He commented, putting the cap back onto the bottle before putting it away. "Normally, getting snake whiskey isn't so hard, this one was a little different though. A few strings had to be pulled, nothing too difficult for me though." The ifrit then locked eyes with the boa. "What about you? Any dirty little secrets I should know of?"

As a smile reached her husband's eyes, her look seemed to mimic his and Krynn couldn't help but watch as the ifrit poured a shot for each of them. Despite her worries and her hesitance to meet with Rajin, seeing the light in his eyes and the cheeriness he held as he plotted just made her lips spread wider into a smile. Krynn wondered for only a moment if this was somehow planned, maybe the genie's mother had called ahead and given him tips to make this happen. Conspiracy theories of the plan swirled in her mind and the snake's brow furrowed just slightly.
Krynn blinked when Rajin cheered, losing herself in her thoughts yet again. When she spoke, her voice was a little more distant, "Bottoms up," She touched glasses with Rajin, then the bar, and tilted back as she took the shot. Closing her eyes, the lamia let the venomous liquid slip into her being easily enough, though her nose crinkled at the harshness of the whiskey. She looked to Rajin once more and set the shot glass down, wiping her mouth a little with her thumb as she smiled to the genie. Krynn leaned against the bar again, forearms crossed over one another. Her necklace hung loosely and did indeed have quite a few fingerprints left on it, though it held no less glimmer or shine than it had when she took it. The light in his eyes reflected against the stone, and Krynn suspected nothing ill from his intentions.
"Yeah, stung a bit," Replied the snake, giving a little shrug as she followed his movements with her eyes. As Rajin spoke, her thoughts went to some of the things that had driven a wedge between them - the sorts of strings he had to pull to get what he wanted being the one that stuck out most in her mind. Krynn's cheeks found color as he locked eyes with her and asked of any secrets she might have withheld from him, and she raised her left hand to her chin, resting her hand on it. "I went on a date about four months ago while I was in France," Another little shrug from the woman, "Nothing too exciting, she just wasn't my type." Krynn's smile reached her eyes again as she leaned a little closer to Rajin, "Why don't you show me some more of your home? I'm sure you're eager to flaunt," A tease followed with a wink, she stood a little straighter and pulled her hair to one side.

There was a twitch in his cheek when the lamia mentioned how she went on a date in the past. Rajin obviously didn't approve at first, but eased up when Krynn talked about the matter in slightly more detail. It was four months ago and it was with a girl. The ifrit let the event slide. In his mind, the lamia was still very much a possession of his and belonged to him in every way. She was still his wife. Plus, it wasn't as if Rajin himself had been particularly monogamous.
The fire genie blinked when asked to show around his new home. Whether he knew it or not, Krynn was right. He did want to flaunt and show off. "Very well." Replied the ifrit, setting down his shot glass. "I'll give you the grand tour, besides this area. I'm sure you're already familiar with it." The ifrit then went off, waiting for the lamia to follow him.

Perhaps the genie had not meant to display it, but Krynn caught the brief disapproval that struck his face as she mentioned her date. It was gone once she admitted that the date went nowhere, but the lamia would have to remember to keep those things to herself in the future.. even if his escapades were public to her via his mother. She, on the other hand, had remained professional and had not given herself much time for romance.. though she did miss it from time to time. And thus she made time for a single date, that she didn't even bother to follow up with. But wife or not, Krynn was no longer his. She thought that had been made clear to him, but perhaps the lines blurred further the longer she entertained the genie.
In fact, her pinking cheeks suggested that she had been here long enough already. Her mind went over all the appointments she had for the following day.. but she watched Rajin as he spoke and walked off. Krynn looked to the door and sighed, but ran a hand through her ponytail a couple times and followed after her husband. Interesting that her first thoughts as the intoxicants sunk in were of her work, but her mind was often preoccupied with her busy schedule. Perhaps the ifrit was not quite as lucky as he presumed himself to be in getting her to fall back into his life. After the next couple weeks, she'd be gone again and unlikely to return to Janhall for a long time.

The fiery genie wrapped one arm around the lamia and guided her around his luxurious home, showing her all of his gains. "This is my treasury." Rajin said, showing his wife the vast collection of valuables and treasures. From displays of ancient weaponry and suits of armor to priceless artifact, paintings, and even mummy tombs. "I keep most of my precious belongings here. Very few people are privy to see it and wake up the next morning." Rajin, while not on purpose, made his point with a bit of intimidation. A grim reminder of his sordid activities. There was also a small iron box perched on top of a pedestal. The box itself had a mold of a hand imprinted onto it. No doubt the ifrit's hand. Curiously, there were no hinges on the iron strongbox.

Maybe it was just a fluke, but the lamia didn't freeze up when Rajin put his arm around her. In fact, as he guided her along, she relaxed some into his hold and let his heat begin to sink into her. There was a shiver along her skin that suggested her reaction was unnatural. "I never took you for a collector," Said the woman, recalling all the time the both of them spent living separate lives. Perhaps he just liked to gloat, maybe he showed this to all the women he brought back here. But as he so ominously explained, Krynn was one of the lucky few to see these treasures and be allowed to live. There was a red flag in her mind, something going off about how this situation was wrong. The lamia leaned away from him slightly, almost uncomfortable suddenly.
As she looked upon his collection, her eyes found the iron box and she broke away completely. The mold was interesting, most likely fit to his hand, but the box didn't have a way to open. Surely he wasn't so vain that he would treasure a mold of a hand, let alone his own? "Stuff is nice, but I still prefer adventure," Which wasn't fully true, if she admitted it. Krynn, rather than hold on to her items and amass her collections, would often sell or even donate her things. She didn't have a home or a car, and most of her life was moving from place to place, week to week, even leaving behind the things she no longer had a use for. Well, other than a select couple of items, that is. Sometimes she longed for stability, but most times she was content to pack up and leave. She fit her hand into the mold as she looked upon the other treasures, assuming that it would not open for her anyway. Without knowing Rajin anymore, the lamia could only guess what could be inside, if anything. When she spoke, there was almost a demanding tone to her voice, but she was smiling and didn't appear to be commanding the ifrit.
"Come open this."

The ifrit watch tentatively as Krynn wandered through his collection luxurious items and artifacts. It was when the lamia came to the iron box he grew concerned. Inside were a few embarrassing, yet sentimental items to him. Rajin parted a stray lock of hair from his face before coming to Krynn's side. "That's just a little safe for random trinkets. Nothing special." He lied, trying to take the boa's mind off of the box. "How about I show you my theatre or pool?" The ifrit was defeated, however when the lamia told him to open the box. He wasn't going to take her mind off with other vain possessions. Rajin leered at the iron box with the mold of his hand. His crafty mind began to sweat before coming up with a sneak plan. "I'll open it on one condition." He said suddenly, turning his gaze to Krynn. The ifrit brushed aside some of the lamia's hair before cupping her ivory cheek. "You must sleep with me."
