Two older trolls are hard at work in their stations at a very robust booth dedicated to baked goods. Promoting their business, these two give you a glance as you walk past! They're... So familiar!
One, none other than the ex-military Mapuye Puchen, stands as dour and intense as ever above a colorful display of macarons. She nudges a small baggie into place, tied off with a quaint ribbon. Her garb and manner has changed somewhat since her time in the military - she now dons a sharp white coat, and the tension in her face is simply from the hustle and bustle of the festivities.
Next to her is a younger troll, one Iluard Fluffl, who dons a flour-covered apron and a bandana in an attempt to get his wild hair at least somewhat out of his face. He happily waves trolls over as they walk by, encouraging them to try out in the booth events! Come take a gander!
The Burning Bird has many offerings, including those below. A bag of three macarons is only 7 beetles! Visit us at the Civisect Mall soon!
Quote:
Cake Walk In the forefront of the booth is a beautiful display of huge, colorful cakes! Fluffl explains that coupons may be purchased for trolls to participate in a cake walk. If you're lucky, you may win a cake!
To participate, simply visit the booth and post a 100-word minimum RP entry describing a cake that has caught your troll's eye- that they simply must have!! Every three days, a winner will be drawn from the entries and they will receive that custom cake as artwork by Sypon! You may enter three times, once for each drawing, and the cake can be the same or different! (If it's the same you can just post some RP fluff entering again, no need to do more describing).
Those who want to join the next cakewalk: Here's a new code for you to ensure my sanity!
I'd like a coupon, please!
As a reminder if you've already described your cake you don't need to again! Just go ahead and post the code above. Thanks!
Reminisce Puchen's not big on "fun" or "games", but she'll offer up some of the junk in her pocket if you don't annoy her while she works - or maybe just to get rid of you.
This is a CYOA! Choose between the choices below, which will be changed daily, to attempt to converse with the long-storied adult. At the end of Bloodfest depending on your interactions, you may receive some camera parts for use towards custom lusus art!

Psykgi Mentha
As she drank her warm cider, Psykgi happened upon another booth, this one smelling of sweet cakes and cookies. That was enough to make her pause and consider. But what actually brought her over was curiousity - a certain, familiar blueblood loomed over the booth. The redblood didn't even bother to hide her grin as she recognized the fallen commander, the destroyer of her city. It seemed that the blueblood had gotten her just... desserts. Haha!
"Hello, hello!" she said cheerfully, feeling absolutely ready to start her day, and feeling like she would be even readier if she had one of those... gosh, were those tarts? peach tarts? They were so succulent and golden and sugary looking, and they were put together so they were like one big, composite pie... amazing! Psykgi's mouth watered. She wanted that cake. She wanted that so badly. Mmmm...
So of course, she purchased a coupon.
Perhaps if she chatted up the owners she would have a better chance.
"Gosh!" she said to Puchen, as the greenblood busied themselves with other things, "So, What brings you to Bloodfest?" Leaving it unsaid, of course, that the blueblood was in fact the shamed military captain Puchen. Gosh, Psykgi might have mixed feelings about the troll's actions, but she wasn't going to rub it in her face. Right now.
She was on her way back from that god awful hot cocoa booth when this caught her eye. Honestly, she would have kept walking had she not noticed the trolls manning the booth. "Mapuye Puchen?" the words were kept quiet and mostly to herself, but she wandered over regardless.
There were... so many different sweets? Sarcel herself wasn't much one for confectioneries, but she could still appreciate them decently enough. If anything, she would happily support the ex-military captain. She could at least appreciate the cakes anyway for what they looked like; there was such an attention to detail on them, but she wouldn't expect anything less. The one in particular she felt drawn too was, perhaps to most trolls, one that was more plain; Sarcel found beauty in simplicity, however, and it did the cake well. The ribbons of frosting were a light contrast to the white fondant, but everything was so subtle they it didn't distract from the artistry of cake as a whole. She could see the fluid strokes of frosting billowed around the edge, the small beads of edible decor placed strategically dotted along the corners...
She took a deep breath. So sweet.
"This all smells really amazing." she flashed the two trolls a grin—and a salute. It felt right. "I'll be sure to stop by again."
Polite and cordial; it was the least she could do. Actually, she could do a little more, and so she did; dropping the beetles down on the counter, she happily took a bag of macarons for herself.

Rastin Morden
After having a rather eventful start at his own booth, Rastin decided that it was time to survey the booths closest to his. After all, as long as he could keep an eye on his booth from across the way, what was the harm in taking a look around?
The smell of fresh bread immediately drew the purpleblood to The Burning Bird, and the sight of the items it offered drew his mouth into a perfect circle. Goodness, everything here looked so good, his sweet tooth was aching! Rolls, cakes, biscuits, was he in some sort of dream? He forced himself to lean back and straighten himself out. No, he had no time to be drooling over sweets! What if someone came to his booth while he was stuffing his face? He glanced behind himself quickly and to the cakes again.
... Well, it couldn't hurt just to buy one sweet, right? Just one. He squinted and flexed his lips. But, what did he want? Was he in the mood for a macaron? A piece of red velvet cake? Honestly, he felt like whining at the sheer idea of having to choose. He pressed his face closer to the glass, took a breath, and heaved it out.
It would have to be that slice of lemon cake in the front of the booth. It had vanilla frosting, a perfect spongy yellow cake, and two gummy candies in the shape of lime and orange slices. The flavor would refresh his palate and balance well with all of the tea he would be drinking. He nodded and reached for his wallet.
"I'd like to purchase a coupon for the cake walk, please." He said, before glancing back to his booth. "... If I can be honest, your booth smells so good. I'll have to visit your store the next time I travel to Civisect."

Puchen gritted her teeth and bared them at Psykgi in some kind of smile-type-grimace. She allowed Iluard to hand her a coupon and returned to her work, kneading dough at her station.
Only when she spoke directly to her did Puchen look up. “A military pardon and a successful new business.” She said, oversmiling now. “Living happily under the radar with my moirail.”
Thankfully, a more pleasant face appeared in her vision. “Hey, Cincil. You got a coupon? Good, good. I’ll see you around.”
The troll gave her Sarcel a hand wave and returned to her work. Fluffl greeted Rastin happily, handing him a ticket. “Sure thing, sir! Got your eye on one of the cakes over here?”

Ninfia stuck close to Tieldad's side as they made their way through the booths. The little redblood had begged and pleaded to come to their first bloodfest. Though he had been reluctant Tieldad had eventually agreed because other swamp children were going, Ninfia could come as long as they wore a disguise. Ninfia had eagerly picked out a red headscarf and sunglasses to wear to bloodfest. It felt like they were on a secret mission which excited the youngster greatly!
The little bird child caught the scent of baked goods in the air as they approached one of the booths. Smiling, they gently tugged at Tieldad's leg feathers. "Oh daddy! Doesn't this booth look great!" they said scampering up to the booth and peering at their display. "Don't they look adorable! And they smell delicious too!" they exclaimed, eyeing the macarons. Tieldad carefully walked up by his child's side, letting out a few squeaks and pulled a few beetles out of his rather large bag he had strapped to him. He gently dropped them into Ninfia's hands, motioning for them to go buy some of the sweets. The redblood happily hopped over to the counter, dropping the beetles into one of the troll's hands in exchange for a bag of macarons. "Thank you!" they said practically yelling from all the excitement before returning to Tieldad's side. They would definitely be back, oh yesss they would!

A) Puchen smiles venomously at you and slams her rolling pin on a piece of dough. "I'm not here to tell you my life story. What brings you to Bloodfest? Why so curious, eh?"

Psykgi Mentha
"Well gosh, I'm just always curious about what brings people to do things..." Psykgi replied, "I mean, this is quite a Bloodfest! It's just going to get bigger and better, isn't it?" She said, moving on, completely unphased by the look she was getting. "So. What's your least favorite booth?" she asked, smiling at both Puchen and Fluffl, "I mean, your favorite booth is your own - and gosh, I can see why, with all the delicious things about, but, I mean, you must have some competition." Hadn't she seen another bakery advertised? "Or seen a booth that's really awful."
Go on, her perky, interested face seemed to say, Tell me all about it.
Rastin paid Fluffl a nod. Yes, he was interested in one of the cakes in the display. Or, honestly, a lot of the cakes. If he had all the money in the world, the first two things he'd spend it on was expensive tea and every one of his favorite sweets. His lips curled up at the thought, before his attention was caught by Puchen.
"Yes, actually, I'm just undecided." He replied, echoing her eyebrow arch. "Do you happen to have any recommendations?"
He turned his gaze back to the case before suddenly becoming aware of the tension in the air. Something didn't feel quite... Right. Maybe he aught to try adding to the conversation a bit more?
"Ah, erm, have you been to any of the other booths yet?" He asked. "I haven't been to very many, and as this is my first time coming to Bloodfest, I'm not sure which booths to visit. Do you have a favorite booth?"

Ninfia and Tieldad had enjoyed the macarons so much they were eager to show up to get seconds today. They hopped up to the counter again, slipping Puchen some beetles. "One bag of macarons please!" they pipped up, excited to dig into these as well.
While the bag of macarons was being filled the little redblood decided to make small talk. "Did you here Odette Cygnet is going to be here?" they practically screamed from all the excitement. "I hope someday I'll be able to sing and preform like she does! Gosh she's so good at singing! Have you ever met her in person? I hope someday I get to talk to her! Eeee that'd be so great!" The little bird child had a habit of talking troll's ears off when they were excited about something and today was no different.

Chiara mosied over to the booth, she thought she recognized one of the trolls. It was a certin blueblood Chiara remembered from long ago. A grin crept onto Chiara's face and she went over to chat. "Hey! Its been a while! How are you doing?" Chiara started, working hard to be polite and nice. This older blueblood looked like she could be dangerous if angered. "So have you looked at any of the booths so far? Ide love to have you come visit the dance battle booth. Lots of fun to be had." Chiara said, winking at the older trolls. "but, yeah! Whats your favorite booth so far?"

Punkie fallowed her nose to the cake booth and immediately tried to hold her drool back. Right in front, where it rightfully should be, stood an enormous cake decorated to look like a garden. The Icing was crafted so expertly, with little vines wiggling their way around. It was out of season for bloodfest, but that almost made it even better in Punkie's mind. The orangeblood wished that it was as beautiful and lively outside as it was on the cake. "Thats... really an amazing ******** cake." The orangeblood said, still mesmerized by the pastry. "Do you take students?" Punkie said, looking up at the greenblood baker.

Ⅱ Autumn Vikare
Eyzaak's hand tightly clasped in hers, Autumn hauled the young blueblood down the street, bouncing and laughing. Caterpal fluttered several feet ahead, wings a buzz as he zipped to and fro, admiring all the booths. All of a sudden he bolted ahead and veered sharply into a booth.
“Cat! Stay close!” Autumn called, chasing after him. Her boots kicked up a spray of snow as she ran. Never releasing her hold on Eyzaak, she dragged the hapless blueblood along behind her.
“Really!” she exclaimed, as she approached the humble booth. “You can't just...” Abruptly she stopped. The most delectable scent found its way to her sniffnode. She breathed in deeply.
“Cat?” she called again. She found the lusus hovering in front of a display case, all but pressing his tiny grub body against the glass. Finally releasing Eyzaak's wrist, she joined her lusus at the display as though hypnotised. A dozen or so absolutely stunning cakes rested inside the case. Some were simple, others elaborate, but all were without a doubt, the pinnacle of perfection.
“They're... they're beautiful,” she said, ogling. She and Caterpal shared a look. They had practised baking back at the swamp, but their efforts had produced nothing so exquisite. Nor quite so tasty looking. Dreamily, Autumn imagined what one must taste like. Light fluffy with mild sweetness, perhaps a thick chocolate ganache blended with raspberries to provide a tangy flavour, and sprinklings of dark chocolate over the top...
At the right most side of the case, she located what she deemed the perfect cake. It was stark white, with gently ribbed sides, and a floral layer of frosting surrounding the base. The top had been drizzled in a thin layer of chocolate, with a texture so smooth that it could have been a polished mirror. The excess chocolate dribbled down over the sides with delicate artistry, providing a stunning contrast against the white frosting. Flowers carved painstakingly out of strawberries, resting in blossoms of white frosting adorned the top of the cake like a fairy ring, and centred between them was a luscious ribbon of dark chocolate, thick curls looped one over another. Autumn breathed out a sigh.
Meanwhile Caterpal tried to merge with the glass to get to a vibrant cake that looked like a wriggling day at candyland.
Grabbing the enthralled grub, Autumn detached him from the display with a pop. There was no way they would ever be able to afford anything like that. Nonetheless, she turned to the booth owners, a stern looking blueblood and an amicable greenblood.
“Your cakes are absolutely gorgeous!” she told the pair. “I've never seen anything like them. You make them all yourselves?” She smiled winningly. Perhaps she could get a few tips.
“I hope you've enjoyed Bloodfest so far. I know I have. Some of the booths are incredible.” At that, she gave the greenblood a conspiratory wink. She turned to the blueblood. “What about you? Do you have any favourite booths? Aside from this one, of course~.”

Autumn was leading them around after the Bloodfest grounds, and that for the younger troll was just fine right now. There was so much going on, he wanted to get into everything with any luck. Even with his lusus Sundry trotting after them he felt better with her to bum around with. He'd go off exploring more later. Having to keep up with her wasn't exactly easy, but he kept up. There was an unmistakable bounce to the bluebloods step as he grinned impishly at his companion. "This was such a great idea Aut. There's so much to do!" Eyzaak smirked, crooked tooth jutted out over his bottom lip. He rubbing at his nose as he gave a little sniff from the cold.
When Caterpal took off, he stretched his free hand out initially. "Hey! Wait up for us!" He called as she ran after Caterpal, leaving him having to trudge through the snow to keep pace with her as he too had a death grip on her hand still.
Sundry groaned, what with all the snow around it was hard to keep up with a bunch of active kids. The wolf-dinosaur like creature however managed to keep pace only to end up joining Caterpal, pressed against the glass and staring at the delectable goods.
Swatting at the kick up of snow, Eyzaak spat out some of the fine powdery dust that got in his mouth. "BLECK! Hey!" He pulled up his blue handkerchief around his mouth as he bust out laughing. "Don't you know how rudeee it is to kick up snow at people!" He protested with a roll of his eyes as he came to a halt beside her. He opened his mouth as if to rant at her some more, his attention was diverted noticing she focused on something.
Blinking, his sniff node began wiggling. "Oh man..!" His eyes widened, taken aback by the fancy display of what looked like sweet treats. He'd never seen anything quite like it, they were impressive no doubt. "Wow, those are so nice lookin'.." His voice trailed off, eyes glued to the display. There were several, but among the lot was a light colored treat that was layered. Between the cookie layers was a kind of cream filling, and it conjured memories of trying little baked goods back home. Although he'd never seen anything quite like this one, he imagined the flavor to be vanilla of some sort, it made his mouth water.
Snapping out of his semi-trance like state, he tugged at his lusus pulling him away from the display as his paws stretched slightly as if in one last attempt to look a bit longer. Laughing sheepishly Ezyaak looked between the two both owners. "'llo there." He muttered in greeting to the blueblood and greenblood alike.
"They smell good too~ You must have put a ton of work into them. Awesome work I gotta say." The blueblood child added with a thoughtful look. Then offering the booth owners a smart salute for their hard work. He glanced at Autumn then back at the booth owners as she asked her question.
"What about on the flip side? I mean are there any booths that suck or anything?" He asked curiously tilting his head as he hugged his arms to his chest to keep warm.
