Hobbies:

Reading: Ever since his mother helped teach him how, Nik has loved reading. Fiction, Non-fiction, Sci-fi, fantasy, historical. Any book he can get his hands on, he will happily devour. His mother supports his love as much as she can; she's the one who bought him the bookshelves that are in his room and she's the one who helps fill them up for him. He typically carries whatever book he is reading around with him. Since he mostly keeps to himself at school, ignoring the teasing and bullying from his fellow classmates, he will spend his lunch periods and study halls with his nose buried in his book. Most of the time he will take his lunch into the library instead of staying in the cafeteria. His current read: The Lord of the Rings.

Writing: The more Nik reads and the more he crafts his ability with the spoken word, the more he longs to try his hand at story telling. He carries an extra notebook with him for ideas, plots, and notes even though most of his ideas end up in the margins of his notebooks he uses for class. As much as he longs to design his own fictional world, the style that comes the easiest to him is poetry. Haikus, sonnets, free form, all of these come easy to him and he has notebook after notebook filled with his works piled neatly on his desk, organized by date.

Magic tricks: Ever since his dad bought him his first snake in a can at five years old, Nik has had a fascination with magic tricks. At seventeen, he will still go to the store and pick up the kids' magician kits to tinker with. He even saved up the money to purchase the set Criss Angel released. Though he no longer performs in front of his family, occasionally he'll hire himself out for kids' parties as entertainment to earn a few extra bucks when he's in need of cash.

Dancing: Hardly anyone knows about this hobby of Nik's. He has never had lessons but he has picked up a few dvds from the local thrift store and taught himself. Typically he'll hold himself up in his room and turn his stereo up as loud as possible, shove his bed against the wall, and dance. He finds it slightly freeing and a release after a stressful day at school.

People watching: This hobby Nik has had since he was a very young child. He likes to sit back and watch how people interact, observe their actions and words as they converse. He picked up many words and body language examples this way. Now not only will he observe people to gain more knowledge about them, but he will create characters out of what he learns and uses them in his writing.


Virtues:

The Master of Pranks (sense of humor)

If there's one thing Nik is really good at, it is pulling a laugh out of the members of his family. He always as a joke at the tip of his tounge, ready to turn it loose at the least expected moment to get the best response. Also ever since he was a young child, he's spent his allowance buying cheap magic tricks. Joy buzzers, card tricks, hidden objects, he had them all. When it came time for family gatherings, a major highlight would be his little magic shows. He didn't keep his tricks just for showing off to his family. Fake bugs, reptiles, whoopie cushions, and other assorted objects would find their way into family members pillows, chairs, beds, or anywhere Nik could hide them. He will do anything to make his family laugh though he's gotten out of doing his little shows now that he's gotten older. He'll do a trick on request but now he'll typically keep from making himself the center of attention.

Nikolaus’ sense of humor doesn’t come across very well to those who don’t know him very well; it makes for a bit of fun when Nik is at school and dealing with others however it makes him feel like an outsider. His friends and those he’s close to, however, understand. His favorite tricks that he does are his card tricks and tricking people with his joy buzzer. When he’s around his friends and family, it shines more than when he is around people he doesn’t know very well or doesn’t get along with. When he’s around people he doesn’t know well or get along with, he ends up going quiet; the same thing happens when he attempts his tricks and jokes with someone who doesn’t laugh or react the way he would expect them to.

It comes across better to whoever he’s close to, be it friends or family. He’s not as much of a jokester in class because he’s focused on what he’s supposed to be learning. He will make jokes about inappropriate things but it’s not very often; he’s pretty reserved and if he realizes it was inappropriate, he’ll blush. If they don’t think he’s being funny and get annoyed with him, he’ll get quiet and apologize.

Blood is Thicker Than Water (loyalty)

He is fiercely protective to the members of his family, particularly the women. Since their very first day at school, he has tried to always have his twin sister's back. Not that she's aware of any of this or really needs his protection since he is the scrawnier of the twins. To him, family comes first.

Nik has gotten into fights to protect his family, especially over his twin sister. He also considers his friends to be part of his family and will protect them as such. As for his beliefs and morals, he stands very strong on them, the strongest one being ‘everything for the family’. If someone wanted to, they could easily hurt Nik by betraying his loyalty. To those he counts as a friend and family, he is open to them so it would be an extremely sharp blow to Nik to have it broken and would be one of the ways to get him to break his own loyalty to the person.

He is loyal to both his family and his friends (when he finally makes some), to him they are as good as family and he would treat them as such. The easiest way to break his loyalty would be to break his trust and screw him over. To him, that shows they were never a friend and then he feels no sense of loyalty to someone that doesn’t return it.

Must Keep Going (focused)

Whatever Nik sets his mind to do, he will do it and will not give up until it's complete. Whether it's a book he's reading, a poem he's writing, a homework assignment, he sets his mind completely to the task until it is finished. Many times his mother has been forced to drag him out of his room and force him to eat because he will go so into his project, he will forget to eat.

With his determination, his friends find him to be dependable. They know that if they are paired with him for a project at school that he’ll put his own weight, though some would take advantage of it and have a time or two. However, when he gets into full on ‘must get this done’ mode, they do find him to be obsessive and will try to get him to relax. He tries not to take on too many things but he has a time or two and it didn’t turn out very well for him. He got extremely frustrated with himself and it took his mother getting after him and making him see sense to calm down.

He has a very one-track mind and finds it hard to handle more than one thing at a time, the exception being his job. Multi-tasking is something he is not very good at. He gets upset with himself when he fails to complete something but all it takes is getting his mind off of it and onto something new to distract himself with to bring him back around.



Cold as Ice (closed off)

Although he is loving to his family, he is cold to nearly everyone outside of his circle. He has never been able to make friends easily and finds himself no longer trying. Although he has managed to make a few friends in his life, he had to leave them all behind when his family decided to move closer to his aunt and uncle. If he makes new friends at his new school, it will be a miracle. When bad things happen in his life, he typically bottles up the feelings, instead of letting them out. He has a hard time accepting emotional support from anyone.

Deep down, he does want friends but he’s not exactly sure how to go about it and he is slightly fearful of having to leave them behind again, I think. Depending on the situation, he does have a hard time accepting emotional support, but if for example it is something such as issues with school he’s having trouble with, he will accept it easier. Harder issues like his issues with his dad for an example, he’ll want to be alone with his thoughts and then it’s hard for him to accept. His twin is one exception; he will go to her when he gets lonely and wants to reach out to someone. Despite the issues in the family, she is still his twin.

(I do plan on working him towards making a close friend (or preferable more than one). If I could, I’d like to work him to where this trait could change as the character grows into something else that I would gladly run through the staff. I’m extremely interested in finding him people that will make cracks and/or completely shatter the wall of ice.)

Serpent's Tongue (manipulative)

Not too long after he learned to speak, Nik started watching people interact with each other and picking up on how people conducted their conversations. As he grew older, he gained an interest in literature. Through his listening and reading comprehension skills, Nik has developed a way of words that both keep him out of trouble and get him into trouble when he's caught. He will try his best to play one parent versus the other or to get them to punish his sister for what he has done or try to place the blame on others if he gets into trouble at school.

As well as using his way with words to manipulate situations to his liking, Nik has also become a talented liar. He can craft nearly any story and make it believable. It has gotten him out of detention many times at his old school and even out of a few father-son outings he didn't want to go on. Occasionally he gets caught and ends up grounded.

Nik struggles with his sense of duty and the manipulation he does with the feelings and such of his family; he tries to deal with it by thinking he’s doing what he thinks is right and as long as it doesn’t hurt them that it is fine. As for how strangers see him, that is where he shines with his serpent’s tongue. He can make them see him how he wants them to see him, however, there have been one or two that have called him out on it.

Ultimately, his manipulation of his family stems from jealousy which is explained a bit more in the next trait.


Green With Envy (jealous)

Nik's jealous nature is one he contends with to keep it from dominating over him but occasionally it shines through. He gets jealous when someone gets better grades than him, especially when he's studied hard or spent a lot of time working on his projects. He gets jealous when families hire the other acts in town instead of him; he gets jealous over peoples’ close relationships though he struggles with being willing to shatter his own wall to attempt to get that sort of relationship for himself. However Nik's biggest source of jealousy comes from something he tries to hide from everyone, even himself. It lies in his father’s relationship with his sister.

Ultimately Nik's family appears close but with the stress of trying to run the family business, it is strained. I do think Nik does resent his father because of the attention he gives to his sister over him.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION


Eyes: Wide, narrow, green eyes.

Hair: He keeps his jet black hair trimmed short, almost near his scalp, in the back and gelled into two inch spikes on the top. Occasionally he dyes the tips of his hair different colors, mostly blue and green to, as his mother says, go with his eyes. He just likes the colors.

Face: Round shaped face that's slowly starting to show his chisled jaw line

Clothes: He wears mostly casual clothes. Hoodies, t-shirts, jeans, all of these can be found in his wardrobe, mostly in cool colors: various shades of blues and greens with black thrown in as well. If he's not feeling good or doesn't feel like dressing to impress, he'll throw on a dark, baggy hoodie and keep the hood up the entire time. He very rarely wears shorts, even in the summer.

Collar -- Plain sailor collar? Does it have a white stripe at the end?
Bow -- You need some form of frontal decoration and all senshi must have some kind of back bow (female) or sash (male).
Bodice -- A swimsuit-type bodice? White will be the dominant color for your bodice, unless corrupt, when it will be black. Maybe like a crop top -- maybe a dress? A bikini top? You can have any top you like, pretty much.
Sleeves -- Got sleeves?
Brooch -- Round? Shaped like anything? Keep this plain for the first incarnation.
Bottoms -- Shorts? Capris? Miniskirt? Tea-length cocktail skirt? Your typical school girl skirt?

Attacks: These are your senshi's abilities, which will be used in battle. These abilities correspond to your senshi's element. Think of it as a "summary" of what your senshi can do in one word.

Sailor Scout Attack: Name.
This is your most basic attack. For example, Sailor Jupiter shot lightning bolts at her enemy from a lightning rod that hid in her tiara.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Name.
This attack is an UPGRADE of your first attack. Your first attack is more powerful, and can have a cosmetic change. Ie, Sailor Jupiter's lightning attack takes on the form of an eastern dragon when shot at her enemy.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Name.
This is your senshi's most powerful attack. It is different than your senshi's Sailor and Super attack. For instance, Sailor Jupiter's eternal "Sparkling Wide Pressure/Jupiter Thunderclap Zap" enabled her to form a disc/frisbee of lightning that she could throw at her enemy.
