Melody waited patiently for Mik to show up. Even texting him the directions directly to be sure he does not get lost. She already picked a destination, right by a cute little dress shop in France. There was a variety of other shops nearby but this was her primary goal. This was easily becoming her favorite place to visit.

Mikael showed up a little late, looking somewhat confused and holding his phone with a panicky expression. When he spotted Melody who he recognised from twitter he beelined towards her. He was dressed in very simple t-shirt and jeans, looking slightly older than usual with his hair tied back.
"Hi Melody" he said shyly. "Found it, eventually. Where are we going?"

Melody looked extremely relieved when Mik showed up and smiled apologetically at how flustered he looked, "I'm sorry, I guess I should have met you somewhere more familiar..."
She bowed her head to offer him a quick curtsy of greeting.
"Have you ever been to France?"

Mik shook his head. "I don't think so." he said, to be honest he didn't remember being anywhere but at home and then in Sweden. "I don't mind visiting, it's all new and shiny!" he brightened up. "Nice places I've never been."
She got a raised brow. "Have you been here before?"

"A couple times," she confessed. "Ever since someone showed me that I could."
Her smile grew. She could hardly wait to go back. They promised power and riches and with portals alone, they certainly had not disappointed.
"Did you have anything special you wanted to get as well Mikael?" She moved over to stand in front of the portal and offered him her hand.

"Excellent!" Mikael exclaimed. "I like sandcastles so I don't need to leave the island. I have all the sand I need there and the outside is scaaaary." He still had nightmares about the headless creature he'd fought with Jordan and Horace.
"I'd like some pretty things!" he said, taking her hand without hesitation. "Pretty shiny things."

"There are so many pretty shiny things where we are going," Melody assured as she led him through the portal to the other side. She was not lying.
They arrived on a cobblestone street, it appeared to be later in the day than when they left. It was still light enough to appreciate the architecture which surrounded them but several stores have already turned on their glittering external lights. There was a strange distant smell lingering in the air, but it did not follow inside the buildings.
Melody immediately acknowledged a nearby dress shop. She turned to Mik with a smile, "Is it okay if we look at dresses first?" She was really excited to see what they had in this month.
