Tom shut his book as the rest of his classmates got ready to leave the classroom. It had been yet another long organic chemistry class whose lab they were just getting done with. Putting away his goggles and coat in the cabinet he picked up his backpack and walked outside the door with a couple of other students. However he stood to the side of the door, out of the others' way and looked at his phone, trying to decide if he wanted to go straight back to his apartment or go out and study the materials they had just gone over a bit longer.
Although he didn't find much of it hard, the mathematical parts could get confusing sometimes and they certainly couldn't be memorized the way he usually studied for his classes. He would just have to continually do examples of them until he had them memorized. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, trying to think of what to do.

Gale…really, really, really hated Organic Chemistry. She didn’t like any part of it, and struggled to even keep her head above water most of the time. The lab today had been…little short of a disaster, and she was ready to just go home and flop her head into her pillow and take a nap. A long, long nap.
Of course, the things she wanted to do, and the things she did were always two different things, and right now, a thing she did not want to do was slip on something that another student had spilled on the floor and fall head first into one of her classmates…but of course that was exactly what happened.
“Oh gosh, I’m so, so sorry.” Her bag decided to fall open, causing a lovely waterfall of papers to spill over the ground, as she looked up at the male she had run into. “Sorry…”

Tom felt himself being knocked and saw his world moving around him as he fell to the floor. Luckily though he was knocked back into the wall and his backpack provided the distance needed so that he didn't knock his head. But it was still surprising and so he was a little shaken up.
Looking around for the source of the knock-down he noticed a classmate, one he hadn't had the chance to speak to yet, who seemed to have fallen on him. She didn't seem to have a phone in her hands or anything so she probably hadn't been distracted which meant whatever had caused her to run into him had probably been an accident.
"It's all right." He said, trying to ground himself a bit and get his thoughts together. "I didn't hit anything. Are you all right though?" He was concerned. She could have hurt herself by falling and if so he would have to help her. He started to get up a bit, noticing the papers and helping, or at least hoped he was helping, her pick them up.

“I suppose that’s the quickest way to fall for someone, hm?” Gale made a face and began picking the papers up, stuffing them into her bag haphazardly. “It was a quick trip, but next time I think I’ll take the scenic route. I’m Gale, but the way. I sit on the other side of the room from you, I think. You know, where can do the least amount of damage.”
A few of her papers had gotten saturated with whatever had been spilled on the floor, and she pulled those up with a sigh, holding them by whatever dry spots they might have had on them. “I never realized that Chem lab would be so…dangerous. I thought the biggest concern in this place was safety? Spilling things onto the floor is a direct violation of that, I am pretty sure.”
Damn. It was her notes that got ruined by falling in the puddle. “I’m fine, honestly. Just embarrassed and annoyed at whoever decided to make a spill and not clean it up.” She looked up at Tom and attempted a grin, though it might have fallen a little flat. “I am sorry for crashing into you like that. I didn’t mean it.”

Tom chuckled a bit at her somewhat sarcastic remark. She was okay then, though he had been reassured again by her telling him so directly. He gave a few of the wet pages to her that he had collected, though not before sniffing them a bit first to discover that it seemed to be some sort of vitamin sugar water substance. People should not be eating in the lab. But no matter the rules of safety, it didn’t seem to concern or apply to some people.
“I’m Tom and although it was quite an unusual way to meet, I’m glad to make your acquaintance.” He replied, smiling at her. He sighed at her observation of lab safety. “Well some people like to think that the rules don’t apply to them. Either that or they just think nothing will happen to them then and then they’ll find themselves under the water hose when they accidentally spill some danger substance of some sort on themselves.” It hadn’t happened to him yet in any lab, mostly just broken test tubes and someone daring another to lick something potentially dangerous.
“It’s okay, I know it was just an accident, unless that’s your usual way of greeting people.” He said with a smile and a raised eyebrow before laughing a bit. He wasn’t laughing at her, just his own little joke.
Looking at the soaked pages though, he knew that unless they moved quickly or somehow found a dryer, they would probably be unsalvageable. But he had his own thorough notes, and once he typed them up he could always give them to her or send her a copy of the typed ones. “Well… if you want, you can copy my notes? I mean it looks like your notes took a nice swim and I don’t need to keep mine after I re-type them into my laptop. Or we can go somewhere and we can go over them together?”
He hadn’t really made friends yet with anyone in any of his classes, and thought this might be a good chance to do so. Gale seemed like a nice girl at least and with them being in some of the same classes they would have at least something in common to complain about.

Gale blinked and gave a smile. “If you would let me copy your notes over some hot chocolate or something, I would love that. I’ll even buy you a coffee or something if you don’t mind me using your notes for a few minutes!” Ugh. He was pretty much a godsend right now. He seemed like a nice guy, he wasn’t being a jerk, and he seemed as upset with the over abundance of stupidity as she did…so hey. Maybe this was the start of a beautiful friendship.
“So, Tom. What do you want to do when you uh. Well. Grow up. I’m hoping to become a nurse, I just love helping people. If you want, maybe we could make a study group? Get coffee or something once a week and do class stuff? If you’re in nursing or pre-med or something, it might do the both of us good, you know?”
Then again, if he was just in this class for the fun of it, well. That was her bad. Though, maybe she would be right and she would be nabbing herself a bruised ego, tailbone and a really great study partner…well. Depending on his notes, of course.

Tom smiled back at her. Well perhaps today he would make a new friend with one of his classmates, and they would be studying most of the same things too! “Sure, I’d be happy to let you copy my notes. And you don’t have to buy me anything really, just happy to help!” He would have taken her up on her hot chocolate offer, but he didn’t feel he should automatically accept it just because she offered.
“I’m actually planning on being a doctor, a general practitioner really and start my own business. I don’t really like working in hospitals that much.” If it was somewhere besides the United States he wouldn’t mind so much but here they were always breaking out with some problem or another from the uncleanliness of the hospital that he thought having his own practice wouldn’t cause as many problems.
“A study group sounds good too. Never hurts to be studying with other people.” He made sure the rest of the notes had been picked up he helped her stand up so that they were off of the ground now. “I haven’t walked around much so I don’t really know any good coffee places but if you have an idea I’d be up for it!”

Gale nodded. “Well, all right!” So he wasn’t here just to fulfill some requirements, that was a really good start! And he had goals, so that was an important thing as well. “I’ll have to think of some place good we can go then. How about I think it over and I’ll let you know next class, okay? I’m pretty sure that’ll give you enough time to type them up, and I won’t need them so badly until the next lab, so…that’ll work.”
She tucked all of her papers away back into her bag and made sure to keep a much better grip upon it this time, as well as making sure it was fully closed. “Thank you again for your help with all of these…I really…I’m really not normally such a klutz…honest.”
Gale flashed Tom another smile and waved, ducking out of the room and hurrying off to her next class. She needed to fix her schedule next semester so she had longer than fifteen minutes between classes. Rushing wasn’t an easy thing to do, especially not when a cute boy was involved. She really had wanted to stay and talk more.SSBrosB So sorry about the delay! I lost the link ;; Thank you for the rp! <33333

"Sure, hopefully I'll know a good place by then. If you decide to go." He replied, handing her a few more papers. He smiled back at her but before he could really reply, she gave a quick goodbye and ran off.
Tom was a bit surprised at her hasty exit, but he figured that she was probably just rushing to her next class. It wouldn't be surprising, it was amazing sometimes what type of schedule one was forced to have in some semesters.
He suddenly realized that he had forgotten that they hadn't exchanged any contact details and he hoped that she wouldn't forget about their conversation when they next had class.Orangeish Sherbert How dare you emotion_donotwant Kidding! Thanks for the rp! XD
